Encinitas has been missing a great sports bar for years. There are bars that show sports, but there hasn’t been an actual true sports bar around here for a while.
Yes, the name threw us off a little bit, but we loved El Callejon back in the day so thought we’d check out the new bar that moved into its former location in Moonlight Plaza.
We stopped by to watch a Padres game and this place turned out to be a homerun. Tons of TVs, indoor and outdoor seating and great food and cocktails. And best of all, they actually had the sound on which makes watching the game so much better.
The fish tacos were on point and served with these amazing mini Mexican corn cobs on the side. The brisket burger was also solid and perfectly cooked with a tasty buttered bun.
The service was excellent and the staff was super friendly even though they are still in the soft opening phase.
And, the place has Iron Maiden pinball in the game area as an added bonus.
Overall, it’s a great casual spot if you’re looking for a fun place to watch sports and get some quality food.
