"Asian restaurant Mongo Fire Mongolian Grill is closed on 12636 Research Boulevard. It shuttered sometime in July, but a Yelper noted that the far north space is being turned into an Indian restaurant." - Nadia Chaudhury

The first time we went it was good. Today it was bad. My roommate's meal spent too much time on the grill and tasted burnt. As with the first time, the counter, sneeze guards, and floors were disgusting. I mean, like raw meat on the floor folks. Plus they over charged us. What a bummer because we actually do like the food overall but I can't get past the filth.

Fantastic food. The only negative was the lack of fried rice. Choice of steamed white or brown rice or noodles. However, even that isn't enough to lower from a five star.

This is a unique experience! You pay for an empty plate, you fill it with what you want and drop it off with the cook! If you are tired of getting Asian food with things included you don't like, then this is the place to come eat. The price was great and the food is wonderful! My only complaint would be the food needs to be covered better as there were flies about so I was careful to move items off the top and pick items lower in any dish. The place could use a bit of polishing as far as fit and finish but it was not dirty. I'd go back again so these complaints are not show-stoppers for me. It's nice to know that the plate you sit down with ONLY has what you're willing to eat! Cool eatery!

I come here a bunch, considering I only give it 3 outta 5 stars. I just think there's so much they could improve. The floors are always a varying degree of sticky. They may mop every day, but someone is just spreading around dirty water. They don't bring your food to you after the chef has cooked it, which can cause you to have to keep tabs on it for a long time. Most people queue up in a 5-10 minute line and wait, when it is busy. I just go sit at my table and get up to go check. NO dessert! What? Yet, the ingredients made available appear of good quality and the lunch price and beer prices are great. I will keep coming back until there's a better Mongolian grill option around NW Austin.

I love coming here. You literally put together everything and anything you want in a dish, so there's no way for it to taste bad! You add various vegetables and meats together, pick a type of noodle, and create a sauce, and then they grill it in front of you. Above the sauce station they have recipes of combining ingredients to get a specific type of sauce, or you can create your own. *A bit of advice*: double the amount of sauce the recipe says/ what you think you need. Otherwise it'll come out a dry. Now, this restaurant isn't a five star restaurant quality in terms of decor and such, but the food tastes great, service is wonderful, seating is comfortable, and it's very affordable. Honestly what else do you need for a good meal? Highly recommend for this unique experience.

We were pleasantly surprised at the price, and the quality of the food. Although everything is frozen not fresh, it still is cooked to perfection and the cook can manage cooking 6+ peoples plates. You will honestly enjoy it here. Just, don't make the same mistake I did, and make your plate a soup by drowning it in sauces.

Update 7/7/18 Sadly this place is only open for another week so get it while you can! Some of the best Mongolian food I have ever had and much better pricing than Genghis Khan. The grill master had to clean the grill twice for me due to food allergies and he was so sweet about it. He saw me coming and immediately started cleaning my second trip. Very nice atmosphere! Everything was fresh and clean. You can tip staff with a credit card charge. Highly recommend!

Liked this place. It is nothing fancy but good to try. Many choices available for vegetables, meat and rice or noodles. The food quantity reduced after it is stir fried. So advise to fill up the bowl. Also, the sauces are a bit of hit or miss. We followed the suggestions but didn't turn out the best. The chef doesn't speak English so a bit difficult to ask.
