I’ve been by here a couple of times because the atmosphere is always clean, warm, and welcoming and the baristas are always incredibly friendly and sweet. However, I came here to work today and the Wifi is just atrocious. I couldn’t get any pages to load and there was only one other person in the shop with me. I ordered a flat white and though I appreciated that the drink was made technically very well by the barista (great temperature and aeration/conditioning on the milk), the espresso was just not strong enough. I recommend coming here to meet up with friends or doing something offline, and probably order something where you’re not relying on espresso for the flavor of your beverage (maybe a flavored latte, as these are a big highlight on the menu).

Google
Definitely the place to hang. An incredible atmosphere of warmth and caring by dedicated baristas. The open layout with relaxing outdoor seating and indoor wood top tables, which due to the wide open patio walk throughs contribute to the spacious sense. So San Diego. So classicly classy. I get a lot of work done when there, and have also enjoyed wonderful human interactions. Ask the barista for a recommendation and, if you are like me, never be disappointed. 😎

Google
Team is always so sweet here! I come all the time and recently hosted a journal club and they were so accommodating and able to service all 30 of us! Drinks are delicious and so are the bites!

Google
Love this place. The baristas are super friendly and the taller blonde one, I forget her name (so sorry) is so sweet she always compliments something about my outfit or my tattoos and she makes drinks really yummy. However, i went there in a Saturday morning and they had one barista working by herself. Doing the register, making drinks and the food. She did warn us the food would take longer which is totally fine, but what I’m a little mad about is the fact that this poor girl was by herself with absolutely no support, on a Saturday morning with 5 people in line and 5 people already waiting for their drinks and food. Why is no one scheduled with her? I just know she was having a rough morning but also kudos to her for working hard and not showing her stress. Just have another barista to help her to make it more efficient and easier for her, because not everyone is an ex barista like myself or food service worker and may not be so understanding and could be mean.

Google
The attitude from the folks that work here is subpar. I've tried to support this place multiple times instead of spending money at Starbucks, which is directly across the street from me. Not only do I receive weird attitude when spending money there but the service is incredibly slow and the food takes forever to come out. It took them 20 minutes to work on my little bowl of expensive food. Not only that but the food wasn't fully cooked. The coffee is good though. Nonetheless, this was the last time going there. It's what I get for trying to support local. I'll just stick to Starbies where the service is pleasant, quick, and actually more affordable than this place.

Google
pretty disappointed with moniker’s hawaiian matcha. i ended up throwing it away, waste of $9 :/ i really cannot taste the matcha, i can only taste coconut/ macadamia? milk. i went on a pretty busy morning, only one barista was making drinks and there were dozens of cups waiting to be made. i’m sure it’s good when they’re not very rushed but they should have more than one barista on a saturday morning. there was a bagel pop up that was amazing though, that’s the only reason i went.

Google
Love this place! The coffee is solid and it’s a really pleasant space to work out of. There’s a nice breeze and tons of natural lighting!

Google
I dropped by for the soft open. The kids at the counter were nice, but I got a really dry and expensive almond muffin. I try to support local businesses, but there's no point if the food isn't tasty or fresh. They weren't serving coffee when I went, so I might update my review if the coffee is really stellar. Follow-up: Bumped my review up, because the folks at the counter were so nice the second time I went. I also got a latte, and it was fine!

Yelp
Their fall menu is here and it's full of cozy flavors! I asked which drinks were most popular, and the barista mentioned the carrot cake, maple rosemary, and banana bread cold brew. I went with the banana bread one - and wow, forgot how much I love cold brew! This one was so good. Just make sure to ask about the sweetness level! It was a bit on the sweeter side for me, but the barista was super nice and adjusted it - really appreciated that. Only small downside was that they didn't have pastries this time, but still such a great visit overall. Definitely coming back to try the other fall drinks next!

Yelp
This review is for my after hours Marcella pop up experience. It was fun to come here on a cool Thursday evening and enjoy a live DJ while noshing on expertly crafted Neapolitan style pizza. Open space, very relaxed vibe and right across the street from several bars to get a nightcap afterwards. Marcella's pizza crust clearly reflects passion and time invested, as it possesses a wonderfully balanced soft yet chewy texture. BF and I got the specialty white pizza with truffles, which was quickly prepared and full of umami. Hope this pop up gets a more permanent location soon! .

Yelp
The first time I went here, they didn't have some food ingredients so they couldn't make a few items. However, the coffee was good. Second time I went here, I ordered the oatmeal + fruit and an iced pumpkin pie latte. The latte was okay, I was expecting more of a pumpkin flavor instead of it kind of just being in the background. Now, the oatmeal - it was inedible. It seems like they didn't add hot enough water to it so I just had oats swimming in water.

Yelp
I'm glad there is another moniker location in north park! Staff was very friendly and helpful. I got the Hawaiian latte (coconut and macadamia syrup) which was great. The space was welcoming and looked like lots of people were there to work/study. Also appears to be pet friendly which is a huge plus in my book

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday and the day of their matcha launch party to celebrate their new matcha vendor "blue matcha company" so there were some other small business vendors doing pop ups and a DJ later in the day but it still wasn't too busy thankfully! I got their Hawaiian matcha, the macadamia coconut flavor profile was really good but I could barely taste the matcha so it was a little disappointing, I could tell instantly by the color of it when I picked it up at the counter that I probably wasn't going to be able to taste the matcha bc it was such a light green like mostly milk w a little hint of matcha flavor instead of that darker/richer green color indicative of a heavier matcha profile. I really wish I had been able to taste the matcha more since I wanted to be able to taste it to see if I wanted to buy a tin! The "best friends bagel" pop up they had was SO GOOD though! If they had these bagels all the time I would definitely be a frequent customer bc the jalapeño cheese and the ube sourdough bagels were hands down the best bagels I've ever had, I'm drooling thinking about them as I type this review. Based on their instagram it looks like they've done pop ups at moniker before so I'll definitely be on the lookout for if they pop up here again! There's plenty of seating and the space is actually pretty big and open with lots of light and fresh air! There was a short line when we were ordering but it went by fast and we got our drink p fast too! Overall, the matcha was a bit disappointing since I couldn't really taste the matcha but the overall flavors were good so I'm curious enough to come back and maybe try their coffee instead next time! And I would definitley come back if best friends bagels decided to pop up here again!

Yelp
Coffee is very bitter, I've had the tiramisu, carrot cake and lavender latte because I figured maybe it was just the one time. However the flavor is not there, it's super suttle, almost in the background when you drink it, all the lattes tasted the same. The ambience is great for studying or work and the staff is attentive and quick.

Yelp
There was an event going on when we went so it was quite loud with the music system right at the front near where you order. The interior was actually quite spacious and it looked like it would a lovely area to come back to: for slow mornings, chatty conversations, solo, etc. They did have bins and metal utensils, so I wonder if they have "for here" cups as well! That would have been lovely! They have menus posted on laminated sheets that you can grab from the bar as you wait in line. I was swayed by Instagram and ordered the Iced Tiramisu Latte. The base was quite thin for a latte, it reminded me of a cold brew with a splash of milk. Personally this drink wasn't for me as it wasn't agreeing with my taste profile. It wasn't reminiscent of tiramisu as well-- only the crème with the cocoa powder but the latte wasn't sweetened with anything that made me think of lady fingers or tiramisu. I wouldn't get this drink again. Next time I'd get their salted caramel latte!! My brother got an Iced Hawaiian Latte, with oat milk. It was a bit loud, but she said the Hawaiian was macadamia and coconut...I think? My brother really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others. Overall, cute spot-- somewhat close to Holy Matcha. A little further away from other coffee spots but I'd recommend coming by and giving them a try on a regular day!

Yelp
It's so nice to see the Moniker heading out east with this new location in North Park, San Diego. I visited their Liberty Station location many times and learned that they offer a great product. The location is quite spacious inside and they also offer a small patio right in front. I had them make me a cortado with whole milk. I also had a slice of coffee cake. Both cost $10 and some change. The cortado was well made, except for a touch of sourness towards the ends, but I was very please that they not only served it in a proper Gibraltar glass but they also served with a side of carbonated water. Well done. The coffee cake was a winner! It was super moist and offered great flavor. The service was very good. The young lady who took my order had a good sense of humor, and the barista was up beat. Cool spot.

Yelp
first time at the new Moniker in North Park and I had such a great visit. The staff is super friendly, we were able to find some seats to sit and hang out. The vibe and aesthetic is very calming and very open space. I tried the Hawaiian latte with oat milk, and it was delicious! If you know North Park, you know you have to find street parking and on the weekends I can obviously get very busy so go at a early time if possible.
google avatar

Steph L.

Yelp
Street parking only. There are some paid lots nearby. It is really, really hard to find parking. You will most likely walk 3-4 blocks. They have seating inside and outside. Order at register and pick up from counter near the back corner. Tried: Tiramisu - They ran out of the cream so they gave us whipped cream instead which was disappointing. Hawaiian - good but too sweet and very milky tasting even after asking for it to be half sweet. I like their Liberty Station spot better.

Yelp
We loved checking out Moniker General's newest location in North Park! They just opened their doors and are serving coffee, tea, and pastries. They'll be rolling out a food menu too soon! Similar to their Point Loma location, there's ample space for seating which is great to grab coffee with friends or to work or read. There's a combination of tables and chairs as well as a cozy couch. You could even enjoy sitting outside on their patio. Everyone serving us was super friendly and the service was very quick for our coffees. We always enjoy grabbing cold brews from Moniker and look forward to visiting their new place again soon!

Yelp
I ordered the tiramisu latte and my sister ordered the tiramisu matcha. The tiramisu cold foam was good, sweet and creamy! As someone who likes sweet coffee, the drink was a bit bitter for me but I still enjoyed it when the foam mixed in. The interior is open air and spacious with plenty of indoor seating. I was there around noon on a Monday but every table was full. Seems like a good spot to study or hang out! Service was friendly and quick. I would come back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
I ordered a matcha latte with tiramisu foam and my sister got the tiramisu latte. The matcha itself wasn't sweet enough for my taste so I had to add more sugar, but the foam was sweet and creamy! Decently priced at $6.75. Service was friendly and there's lots of seating indoors, though it was pretty full! Luckily found street parking nearby

Yelp
I came to the soft opening on February 4th. I like their menu. I had the vanilla mint cold brew . There is cozy seating and a few outdoor tables. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I recommend this spot and wish it was closer to me.

Yelp
Moniker Coffee Company did not disappoint. I got the hot salted caramel latte and it was sooooo good--rich, smooth, and just the right touch of salty-sweet. My daughter got the cold Hawaiian latte and really enjoyed it. Perfectly sweet and super refreshing--she loved every sip. The vibe is laid-back and stylish, and the staff was friendly and efficient. We'll be back.

Yelp
Warning - avoid due to multiple health code violations and its empty. They will call the cops if you take pictures per the manager Katie. She was extremely obnoxious, rude, and condescending but the male barista there was a sweetheart and had no problem with serving me and giving me a refund. Was told by this obnoxious manager "Katie" to leave as I was enjoying my cap outside, after being approach by her. Unfortunately there have been a wave of good people leaving this strange Zionist hate filled coffee cult with a strong association to Point Loma Nazarene college by way of moniker coffee, moniker commons, and now moniker general outpost. Go to Love Song coffee instead.

Yelp
So excited that north park has a moniker! Came to do some work with a friend on a Saturday afternoon and this was such a great place to get work done! There is such cute and comfortable seating both indoors and outdoors and there is also a comfy couch. I got the vanilla mint cold brew and it was super delicious and not too sweet! Excited to continue coming to this location to get work done :)

Yelp
Great coffee, good service, nice atmosphere. Love that it's dog friendly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I was excited to check it out while I was on my walk in the morning. I went in because I had seen a post on Instagram with different breakfast items. I was hungry. There was about five pastries in a case and I asked them about the menu because I had seen avocado toast and breakfast sandwiches. The gal at the counter said they don't do that that was a different location. The only thing they had was the four or five pastries in a case. I tried to ask them about the pastries and basically was brushed off. The employee was so rude and non caring. I just turned around and left. I guess this new place is going to be for snobs only and if you're looking for breakfast forget it they have crap looking pastries

Mike P.

Yelp
sh*t internet. Something I won't tolerate. I didn't ever take a sip of my tea. I just walked out.

Yelp
Friendly, attractive coffee/tea house with a cool vibe. Had an unsweetened hot matcha latte with oat milk It was strong and hot like I like it, and served with a smile, which is all the sweetner I need.

Yelp
Super excited to hear moniker general group opened another coffee shop closer to me. Stopped in this Sunday morning and tried their vanilla mint cold brew which was delicious and super refreshing! Service was friendly and I really loved the spacious layout, plenty of seating to relax and enjoy your cup of coffee. Will definitely be back!

Eri C.

Yelp
my friend and i both got matchas but the tiramasu matcha came with no powder on top like the other pictures showed us we saw other matchas that looked a lot greener and vibrant and ours was .... light green? tastes like bitter milk :( but the environment of the cafe is so nice and i would love to do work here!!

Shauna C.

Yelp
Good coffee and interesting flavors, spacious room to study, music is not too loud, and super nice bathrooms!

Katie C.

Yelp
This was my first time at this spot, and I instantly loved the vibe. It's super cozy and perfect for getting some work done -- lots of outlets along the walls, which is always a win. I got a Hawaiian latte and tried a breakfast sandwich that came on a biscuit -- so good. The staff was also really friendly, which made the whole experience even better. What I liked most was just the overall feel of the place. They've got a patio they open up, and the neighborhood it's in is really nice. Great place to get work done or even to hang with some friends
google avatar

Aidanne A.

Yelp
Great ambiance and lots of outlets to plug in to for studying! Latte I ordered to go had a cool art of a bear on it. Thank you!

Yelp
The cutest show. The ham breakfast Sammy is a must. Cold brew was perfect. And the staff was great to chat with

Ava B.

Yelp
Just went to this location for the first time and I absolutely loved it!!! They have a lot of seating with outlets which is perfect for people who wfh and/or students. The space feels so open with lots of natural lighting coming in. My sister and I got the tiramisu latte and we both absolutely loved it!!! The staff here is super friendly too. Shoutout to Max for being so kind and patient. He literally went over the entire menu with me and even offered to adjust my tiramisu latte so it wouldn't be too sweet!

Bradley L.

Yelp
Place was cute, but drinks were meh. We tried the tiramisu latte one with whole milk and one with oat, as well as a matcha latte with strawberry basil syrup. They used Costco matcha...the culinary version not the ceremonial. Unfortunately, the matcha tasted like pesto pasta. The tiramisu latte was okay, if it didn't have the foam on top it would be worse. Service was nice though!

Ani S.

Yelp
Love this spot! Much calmer vibe than the liberty station location! New breakfast biscuits are amazing, I love that they are from a local bakery!

Mireya J.

Yelp
Great coffee and amazing service. I had the had Hawaiian Latte and it was absolutely delicious! Chill vibes and the staff are so friendly.
