"The original monkey bread from Monkey Bread OCNJ is a delicious sweet dough treat that’s tossed in a cinnamon sugar mixture, baked in brown sugar, and topped with buttercream icing. If you want something even more unique to take back to the beach and enjoy as a snack, the chocolate chip, birthday cake, salted caramel, and banana chip varieties are delicious options to try." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Google
Extremely disappointed! What a waste of money. Maybe this business is very slow and that’s why the food tastes like it’s been sitting there for months. The açaí bowl base tastes very old (horrible) and same with the toppings: bananas were old. The monkey bread also very old. My kids and myself weren’t able to enjoy this new place for us. “Monkey Bread”

We ordered the party tray of monkey bread as a breakfast treat for our guests, and it was a total hit! Highly recommend the large tray for any occasion where you want to impress a crowd with something unique, sharable and delicious!

Google
They served the base of the bowls completely frozen, and it tasted like more added sugar than fruit. Go to Goji instead. Or Bashful banana. No I'm not getting paid to say this. But seriously disappointing

Sweet, Sticky, and Absolutely Irresistible Monkey Bread is a delightful treat that combines the simplicity of bread with the decadence of a gooey, caramelized coating. Each bite offers a perfect balance of sweetness and warmth, making it an instant crowd-pleaser for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. Whether served fresh from the oven or enjoyed as leftovers the next day, Monkey Bread is sure to satisfy your cravings for something indulgent and comforting.

The atmosphere was very nice all the girls seem to be a tight group of friends and Kaitlyn was very nice and was nothing but smiles. Monkey bread was very good and so was the lemonade

What’s not to love here? It’s a cute boardwalk shop serving up fresh, delicious, and unique flavors of monkey bread. Nutella was my favorite! They also make a mean açaí bowl and have some other food (and smoothie/coffee) options as well. The staff were super friendly, and the prices are fair. Monkey bread is a must when in ocnj!

Camryn

Google
My absolute favorite boardwalk treat! The salted caramel is one of my all time favorites, but all the flavors are delicious. It’s so gooey & fresh. Also, the staff here are very friendly & quick to serve. Overall, a 10/10 experience every time!!

Google
Monkey bread was very dry almost stale and tough Staff was very nice and willing to heat additionally to try and soften

Yelp
So good and quick! Tommy and Cameron were both attentive and kind when it came to serving us! Definitely make time to grab some monkey bread when you're in OC!

Stacey H.

Yelp
So many monkey bread options! They need to be hot but they're delicious. They also have smoothie and açaí options.

Yelp
For those fortunate enough to have indulged in the bliss of monkey bread, encountering a sign advertising its presence is akin to discovering a treasure trove of delectable delight. Refraining from savoring the irresistible allure of monkey bread would not only be a disservice to the culinary community but also a betrayal of one's own taste sensations. Prepare to embark on a journey of unparalleled satisfaction at this establishment, where the possibilities for monkey bread combinations seem endless. As a self-confessed aficionado of all things delicious, I can assure you that each and every bite is a symphony of flavors that dances upon the palate with pure elation. Dare I say, it's a euphoric experience that tantalizes the senses in ways beyond imagination. Indulging in this ambrosial creation has the potential to be a transformative experience. As a testament to its captivating allure, I must admit that were I to reside in close proximity, my physical dimensions might well be subject to a delightful expansion, fueled entirely by the sheer irresistible essence of monkey bread. If ever there were a moment to heed the call of culinary curiosity, this is undoubtedly it. Embrace the opportunity, seize the pleasure, and immerse yourself in the world of monkey bread perfection. Your taste buds will forever thank you for the delectable journey you're about to undertake.

Yelp
Sweet, simple, and delicious. We got two minis for the kids mid surrey ride. So many choices, I'm sure Al fabulous. Pricey of course for boardwalk food, but worth the treat. We'd come back for sure.

Veronica K.

Yelp
When I think of the beach I don't think of monkey bread but this spot is good! Their monkey bread is huge and filling, and of course super sugary. It's 7 bucks and some change for one so maybe a little pricy but definitely worth it, even if it is sweltering on the boardwalk.

Tricia G.

Yelp
I have never done crack, but I'd imagine this wb the food version of it! The monkey bread here is incredible! So dense and delicious!!! My daughter also got a mixed berry smoothie. She said it wasn't thick enough, but still loved it anyway. They have a punch card for their addictive monkey bread that we took bc we are at OC A LOT during the summers!

Maddison C.

Yelp
Been to monkey bread a few times and definitely recommend the acai bowls and smoothies! My personal favorite was the summer nights smoothie I got during my last visit. Not only can you get a healthy boost in this summer heat they have delicious snacks if you want something as more of a treat! 10/10!!

Matt R.

Yelp
This was a favorite destination of ours during our stay. $7 for an original sized monkey bread but add $2 for a couple scoops of ice cream. I mean it's a lot to for over for a pastry but it's the boardwalk and there aren't really any other places I know of that make it.

Wes N.

Yelp
Was told I had to try Monkey Bread. I went with the original though they have tons of flavors which looked great. I'd describe the Monkey Bread as an advanced cinnamon roll. It was very good but maybe a little more than I needed, they do have a "mini" option available which is probably what I should've gone with. At $6.50, I thought it was a little overpriced. Overall though, worth trying, especially if you have someone to share with.

Bryce B.

Yelp
The service took forever. There was one employee and she was making an açaí bowl forever, at least it seemed like it. I ordered the original monkey bread. There is a variety of kinds though, for example: birthday cake, pumpkin spice, chocolate chip. It was delicious! I thought I was going to wait to eat it at home but it didn't last. It tasted fresh, and not overly sugary, with a delicious whipped cream on the top. It was good, only complaint was the service.

Yelp
The best monkey bread! Such interesting and unique flavors! We really liked the salted caramel and purchased a Nutella to go!

Krist D.

Yelp
Omg like the best part of the middle of a cinnamon roll! Very good!!!! Love that it's bite sized. Got a box of four to go and split it amoung friends...also bought a loaf of banana bread...stay tuned

Yelp
On this visit to OC I was able to finally sample the elusive SJ monkey bread. Of that I am a fan, with their cinnamon buny taste and texture, and the easy access break apart pieces. This shop was mainly just ok, in fairness that may have been due to the preseason encounter here which found them short staffed and out of most products even at an early hour. There were only about 2 types available plus the original. I went with that and found the treat to be less than morning fresh. The sweetened icing is pretty good and you are entitled to a free container with Yelp checkin. I think if you try this during the regular season you should not run into stake product as I did. And it is possible that I will give them another try. However it is far more probable that I will search out old school bakeries in SJ that do this better.3.25 mildly intrigued Yelps

Yelp
We go to Ocean City all the time to walk the boards and get some fresh air. I must have walked past Monkey Bread a hundred times and never noticed because it's so tiny. Then one day a lady grabbed my attention and offered me a sample. Holy moly! From that day forward I was a fan. Sticky, sweet, moist, hot luciousness is what it is. It's soft hot cinnamon bread with TWO kinds of icing. If you catch them when it's really fresh, it's knock your socks off good. When it's not just-made, it's still quite good, but it's not the same. The quality isn't always even so sometimes it's a little bit of a let-down. But it is tooth-achingly DEE-licious. It's so sweet that usually one serving is sufficient to share between two or three of us. If they sold coffee at the Monkey Bread on the boardwalk, I might be able to pull off eating a whole one by myself. If you'd like to do that, you can check out T&M's other location on West Ave. There you can sit and enjoy Monkey Bread's expanded menu. But you're gonna want the Monkey Bread regardless. Trust me!

Jena M.

Yelp
This is the perfect sweet snack! They have an assortment of flavors and they will heat them up for you to enjoy on the spot, or they are also delicious when heated to eat at home!

Leon B.

Yelp
Next time you are in oc make sure to stop I've been seeing these ads here and there and I'm glad I gave them a try. Im going to need some ice cream for the leftovers. Pic above is the s'mores (left) and the salted caramel (right). The salted caramel has the sweet taste of the original icing with a hint of salted caramel in every bight. The s'mores is a nice night of marshmallow and chocolate in every bight, great for the chocolate lovers out there. Monkey bread has to be one of my all time favorite desserts and ice never had monkey bread like this before. I was always happy with getting classic monkey bread of rum monkey bread. I can't wait to try another flavor next time I'm here. I never thought I'd say this but this spot has definitely replaced my favorite boardwalk treat of funnel cake.

Celia M.

Yelp
Maybe it's because I came here in the late afternoon, but the monkey bread was a bit dry and way too crunchy outside. It was also very sweet and the peanut butter chocolate chip flavor I got came with only a tiny drizzle of peanut butter, so was very underwhelming flavor wise. For $7 per monkey bread, it was a waste and I ended up tossing half. :(

Taylor P.

Yelp
I'd venture to say this is one of my favorite desserts on the OC boardwalk. I love classic monkey bread with the biscuity dough balls baked with gooey buttery cinnamon sugar topped with icing, but here they take that to a whole new level with their variety of flavors. We've had a few like original and s'mores but the banana chocolate chip is by far my favorite! If you don't eat it warm, you're doing yourself a disservice. I get it, on a 90 degree day maybe you don't want a piping hot monkey bread outside. Just bring it home and microwave it later for the most magical experience. You won't be sorry.

Marie P.

Yelp
Was so excited to get this, then I did... the monkey bread was so hard, it broke my friend's tooth. The icing was sandy and crumbled upon touch. For $56 we should have gone elsewhere. Highly disappointed.

Colleen G.

Yelp
Monkey Bread never disappoints! Stopped by tonight and a very friendly & outgoing young man helped us. Service and Monkey Bread were on point! We will definitely be back!

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Another wonderful must have if visiting ocean city nj . The monkey bread is baked fresh on location and has a delicious display of the varietys - my favorites are regular and the banana

Tim S.

Yelp
This place is awesome! The food is delicious. My wife, son and I ate here twice for breakfast on our vacation to Ocean City. Both times the breakfast sandwiches were great. Pork roll, sausage, egg and cheese on bagels or white toast. Fresh made smoothies, juices and açaí bowls as well. But their signature monkey bread is incredible. Tastes like a giant cinnamon roll. The staff here are friendly and helpful. Just an all around great place to try when you're on the boardwalk in OC. I love that they have something for everyone regardless of your dietary choices. Would return, no question!

Jess D.

Yelp
I'm not sure why it took me 3 years of cruising down to OC, NJ for day trips to discover this delicious boardwalk treat. With fudge, ice cream, and other boardwalk temptations it's hard to decide how to spend your calories. If you want something unique and terribly unhealthy you have to try Monkey Bread. I'd give this place 5 stars but I think they are definitely priced a little too high for the average middle-class family's budget. One more thing, you don't need the extra frosting America. The darn thing is tasty enough without the extra 300 calories!

Courtney A.

Yelp
Service was slow, went at 7pm on a Sunday and bread was stale. Replaced our loyalty card with a new one, now we have to buy double the amount so all of our existing purchases don't count- what's the use? Owners ignore all forms of contact via email, phone calls or social media. Not a respectable way to run a business. It's shameful they refuse to respond. We visit OC every summer and we always visit MB. Next year I won't be surprised if they are out of business with their stale product and terrible customer service.

Judy T.

Yelp
It's good enough to stop a two year old in her tracks. We got some for breakfast, and it was sweet and yummy. Glad we didn't opt for the extra frosting. They're little nubs of goodness, so it's easy to eat and share. My two year old friend would turn her little sand-covered face to me in mid-play and say, "More?" Kid, you're lucky I know how to share.

Dan J.

Yelp
The chocolate chip monkey bread was good but next time I will be trying the original. This food is so gooey I got it on my hands and it was very sticky and I had to use a wet nap to clean them off.

Caitlin C.

Yelp
Do you even know what Monkey Bread is? Monkey Bread: A sweet yeast bread formed by arranging small clumps of dough (which are usually dipped in melted butter) in 3 or 4 overlapping layers in a pan. After baking, the clumps cling together to form a solid loaf. It is then doused in a cinnamon and sugar liquidly substance. What you are eating: 3 packages of buttermilk biscuit tubes 2 cups sugar or more 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1 cup butter And I don't know anywhere else that sells it than here. You can make it at home too (get recipes online) and it is incredible. You pull off the little balls for your own personal bite of heaven.

Lindsay M.

Yelp
Great monkey bread and delicious coffee!! Love the selection of monkey breads and coffee is sooo good!

Erika H.

Yelp
We walked past Monkey Bread and knew we wanted to go there for breakfast, but the dream of this place was better than the reality! We popped by at 8:30am and the monkey bread was still baking. They said come back in 15 min. They also said they had decaf coffee, so we decided to come back. When we came back, they were SUPER slow. Each person's order took five minutes. We ordered two monkey breads, orange juice, and the coffee--and it still wasn't made. She said to come back later...she would start some decaf...which she did after waiting on another person. It was just painful to wait, the monkey bread is pull apart and super yummy, but I would not put up with the hassle again!

Tracy H.

Yelp
The monkey bread looks amazing in the display case. I mean seriously flippin' amazing! We bought a piece to go,and walked a bit more of the boardwalk in the evening. (Not in the heat of the day). Sadly, when we went to eat it two hours later it was quite dry. A big disappointment because even one piece was not cheap.

Dana Q.

Yelp
I live about 15 minutes from the boardwalk and go pretty often, especially when people are visiting from out of the area. Up until last night I'd just walked by monkey bread wondering what the heck it was. I mean, i knew it was something sweet and dough-like, but other than that - no clue. Besides, I was usually pretty satisfied with my curley's fries and vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles (not jimmies - sorry. I know I live in "jimmies" country but I just can't say it) ... So last night I was with some family and friends and we walked by monkey bread and I decided I was finally going to try it. OHMIGOD. It was SO good. I don't know if it was freshly made or sitting there for hours but I don't care. It was nice and crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside...so good. It's kinda like a cross between Strufoli (those delicious Italian honey balls that my aunt would always make for holidays....that I used to stick in my hair when I was a baby) and a cinnamon bun. It's really really yummy. I can't wait to check out their other location! Might do that tomorrow morning after I check out the Ocean City Farmer's Market! As always, I'll let you know how it is.

John Q.

Yelp
No matter how hard you try, You can't re-create Monkey Bread in your kitchen at home. It's ridiculously good and has become my favorite spot on the boardwalk. No need to be fancy with the flavors, just order the original. I introduced my girlfriend to monkey bread and now she's hooked too. It's cheap and the line is never too long. I am a fan and you will become one too.

christopher s.

Yelp
I am a lover of monkey bread. Most of all, I like experimenting with and making it at home. I still haven't managed to make it half as good as these guys. Perfect dough, yummy cream topping. Perfect after a long walk on the beach at night

ben c.

Yelp
WOW! the best brains i've ever had! haha. it's actually tine cinnamon buns clumped together which to me looks like brains. hahaha. but nonetheless, it was soooo very delicious! my friend recommended the place and the warm bread in the drizzling cold night was perfect! the boardwalk is only a short drive from my friends place so i expect to come here a lot in the future!!!

Jason B.

Yelp
One of the first places I stop when I'm in ocean city. Also sometimes you can get day old for half price and it's just as good.

Dan C.

Yelp
Best breakfast sandwich I've ever had . The only sandwich I'll eat with a fork . Highly recommended if your in the area . One of the the only things I miss since moving from New Jersey .. This and the casino are the only places that make me go back ...

J B.

Yelp
Monkey Bread. Little sugary balls of goodness. This is a great treat while walking the Boardwalk. The game however has changed, its not just your standard Monkey Bread any longer. While the regular straight up Monkey Bread is still there, game on with flavors added. Banana, chocolate Chip, Pumpkin. Just when I thought you cant make a good thing better, they did. If you're on the OC Boards, stop in and check them out!

Kim S.

Yelp
This is THE BEST Monkey Bread ever! Delicious, flavorful, and the icing is ridiculously good. We always make this our first stop during vacations to OC, and always take tons home with us. Service was also always friendly, fast, and accommodating. After relocating to the west coast, we really missed out monkey bread. The owner, Laurie I believe , was so great when my boyfriend wanted to overnight 2 packs of monkey bread to me as a surprise. She was even kind enough to include a monkey bread t shirt for me as a gift. The bread arrived in perfect condition, and was as delicious as it is eating it right on the boardwalk. Thank you Monkey Bread!!! We will definitely see you on our next vacation!

Seana C.

Yelp
Lots of variety, the only disappointing thing about this shop is that if you want to eat your monkey bread when you get it, they'll offer to heat it up for you. I figured they'd throw it in a hot oven for a couple minutes, but instead, they throw it in the microwave for 30 seconds and it totally ruins the texture. Besides the yucky microwaved bread texture, it tasted pretty good. I enjoyed the coconut flavored monkey bread

Jeff W.

Yelp
We've traveled coast to coast and this is the best monkey bread there is to be found. Recently we moved from the east coast to the west coast and have really missed the flavor of the bread. The owner went out of her way to overnight us our order so we could have this tasty treat once again. She has a great mind for business and what it takes to be successful and provide service beyond the normal. We couldn't be happier!! Thank you so much!!

Marissa B.

Yelp
My husband got this one day after walking by it for a couple years. I was really disappointed. I have to say we got it in mid September when there is less boardwalk traffic, so I don't know if that contributed to the poor quality, but it was very old tasting. The bread was all dried out, like it was a couple of days old. The fact that it was really overpriced to begin with made it even more disappointing. My guess is that they don't bake it fresh everyday. For something that is so easy and cheap to make I feel they could do better. Maybe sell it for half price 30 minutes before they close to clear out the stock like a few of the places do on the boardwalk. If they charged $4.50 for the single and made it fresh everyday it would be such a great boardwalk food.
