The Monkey Bar is such a fun and memorable spot. The atmosphere is vibrant, stylish, and welcoming, making it a great place to stop for drinks or a casual bite whether you are staying at the resort or just passing through. The holiday drinks are definitely the highlight right now. They are creative, festive, and full of flavor. Each one feels thoughtfully made, not just pretty but actually delicious. They capture that cozy seasonal vibe perfectly and are the kind of drinks you look forward to ordering again. And I have to mention the monkey fries because they are absolutely amazing. Crispy, flavorful, and addictive, they come out hot and perfectly seasoned. They are one of those menu items you order “for the table,” but everyone ends up wanting their own. The service is friendly and upbeat, and the whole place has a great energy that makes you want to hang out a little longer. Overall, The Monkey Bar is a must visit. Great drinks, great food, and a vibe that keeps you coming back.

Monkeybar at Town and Country is such a fun spot with a nice retro feel throughout the space. It's the resort's hotel lobby bar with mid-century decor that feels both nostalgic and fresh, and the making it easy to settle in and hang out for a while. The drinks are pretty creative too, especially during the Christmas season. The staff is friendly, which makes the experience even better. We recommend coming when they're playing live music or DJ sets on select nights, and enjoy the sunset into the night at one of their outdoor fire pits.

This bar offers a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, whether you choose to hang out outside or sit indoors. It feels like a reminder of vacation time. The food is quite good, and the drinks are decent.

Park in the site garage, they’ll validate your ticket. Just order a pizza at the bar and take a seat anywhere in this comfy, spacious but cozy space. Service was amicable and thoughtful, and the funghi pie was delish. So-Cal chill vibes, lovely dinner, would go back.

Google
Fun times at this new place that is tucked in between the apartments and hotel. Great seating are, eye candy, and drink. The staff was a little slow but not bad. The drinks tasted a little light on the alcohol but I did catch a buzz, so it’s all good.

I don't usually write reviews but I feel like it is important to share my experience eating here. I ate here a few days ago, food was great, and the atmosphere was nice. However, I was very disappointed by my overall experience. I gave the bartender my card to open a tab, however my mother and my grandmother ended up splitting the bill. Both my mother and my grandmother were charged for half, and I was charged for the entire bill, and additionally was charged for half the bill as well. I am here on vacation and was very upset that some of the money I had saved up for this trip was taken out of my account. It took five days for the refund to come back. I work at a restaurant so when I go out to eat, I hold other places to a certain standard. I was barely given an apology, it was made to seem like it was my fault for giving them my card to open a tab. No accountability was taken, and I just think it is important for other people to be made aware because this was absolutely unacceptable. The full check was $106 and some change, and I was charged the full bill, and then also charged $53. My mother was also charged $53, and my grandmother was charged $53. I am not happy with the way it was handled and I absolutely would not return to or recommend this place, which is disappointing because the food was delicious. I understand that mistakes happen, but when mistakes do happen, management needs to do better to right their wrongs to their customers.

Google
Cody the bartender rocked my world with those drinks! Awesome bar knowledge, made my a wife a "dealer's choice" drink that was so good, I thought she'd leave me for him. Clean bathrooms, solid stalls.

Google
Great outdoor space, very roomy, open and good for family/kid time if need be. But not kid like, very shishi if no kids. Big opening from bar to outside area, like a resort should have. The bar inside is gorgeous, super cool, and roomy too. Perfect to stow away or get together with a big group. 6 hour validation parking close to the bar!!!

Yelp
Monkeybar is a casual, fun eatery serving cocktails, wine, craft beers and wood-fired pizzas. AMBIANCE Trendy interior-exterior bar with exterior seating by fire pits SERVICE Staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive with regular checkups. FOOD 5/5 Longanisa Pizza (Chef's Monthly Special) Love the Asian flavors here - it's Sweet and Savory Sausage (longanisa) Topped with Atchara (unripe papaya pickle) and fresh and fragrant Micro Cilantro (reminds me of rau mầm) PARKING Garage tickets are validated

Yelp
Great beer selection and loved the cozy fire pits to warm up next to while mingling. This place was awesome on a Saturday evening when I went with friends. Great service and fun vibe

Yelp
This is probably one of my favorite places for happy hour. Convenient parking, ok deals on the food and nice patio area out back for hotel guests and locals to sit and enjoy a beverage and something off the menu. The service is always with a smile, it can take a little bit when it's busy but that's to be expected.

Yelp
We were planning to go to the place next door for cocktails, but told they had a prefixed menu that day. Since we just had brunch we didn't want more food. As we were walking away we saw this spot and decided to give it a try since we only wanted drinks. Much friendlier staff with a chic and cozy atmosphere. Now for my soap box; apologies in advance. Lately I've noticed customer service is a lost art. The maître day at the other place didn't bother mentioning this place even though we told her we just wanted drinks. She instead acted like their brunch was too pricey when in fact where we came from was much more. Hence, this spot was a breath of fresh air given the bartender smiled and intellectually spoke to us as to how we like our cocktails.

Yelp
The pizza is amazing! And that's still an understatement, definitely recommend it! The Margherita pizza is delicious, my son enjoyed their pepperoni pizza. A must try!

Yelp
Total confusion. Party of six of us and the seating was all over the place. Maybe I will try another time when the place isn't so crowded.

Yelp
Town and Country holds such a special place in my heart, so when my friend suggested going to Monkey Bar, I was really excited. Town and Country has definitely had a huge upgrade and Monkey Bar is definitely one of them. Outside bar that overlooks the pool area which makes for easy relaxation. There was a DJ but because this is a resort so close to the room music did stop pretty early. I ended up order prosecco for the birthday girl and our other friend ordered pizza for our group. Ordering food stops at 10:30 pm so if they're late make sure to order in time. Overall really friendly fun vibes and would come back. You can park at the mall and walk in through the back or park at their lot and have your parking validated.

Yelp
RESORT BAR (3 stars) Monkey see... should Monkey do? - FOOD/DRINKS: ok - SERVICE: meh - PRICE: Resort prices - VIBES: people vacationing If you aren't staying in the area then expect to park in the parking garage and pay ~$5+ for ~1hr+. Open concept with live music, star gazing... and old drunk business men. Annoying old business men who are a bit off. This bar is tucked inside but outside of Town and Country Resort neighboring Arlo. Outdoor space was nice - first come first served, open seating for visitors. It's a bit loud with echoing conversation and music (I'd hate to live in the surrounding condos and apartments) :: SERVICE :: You have to wave them down. They aren't good at tracking people and tables. Kind of weird, even on less busy days. :: SIPPIES & BITES :: DRUNKEN MONKEY ($18) - Kettle One Orange Vodka, Orange Liquor, Coconut Run, Grenadine, Pineapple Juice, Lemon Juice, Edible Flower. Drink was nice and tropical! I was hoping to see something with banana flavor on the menu (hence it is the Monkey Bar) but saw several drinks with orange liquor, orange bitters, and in general the word "orange" kept standing out. Went with this drink because it was safe and looked like their signatures/main drink from their short cocktail list. Due to the lack of service I started to get hungry and ate my pineapple garnish. RECOMMEND SIDE OF FRIES (~$6) - wasn't there to eat but needed something to munch on while drinking. I liked the fries! They were seasoned, crispy, and perfect for something light. RECOMMEND Probs won't be back. Rather go to the other two restaurants what share the same outdoor space if I want to enjoy this space again. Monkey see... Monkey don't! Until the next review...

Yelp
An amazing place with perfect vibes, they have the best bartender I've ever met, ask for Cody, he'll serve the drinks and all your answers! Take a seat at the bar, because it will be the best part of your stay.

Yelp
We came here for drinks and small bites after attending a film festival. On Yelp, the hours of operation says open until midnight. We got here around 9:30pm and found out that the kitchen had closed and the only food available were some prepackaged egg salad sandwiches and salads. It's a bit misleading if you want food and drinks because none of the food items on the menu were available. I ended up just getting a cocktail only. I don't remember what I got because it was something recommended by our server and not on the cocktails list. It was really strong and tasted like straight up vodka (not lemony as I had expected). The bar is situated inside the Town & Country Resort and is connected to a beautifully lit outdoor patio. There are seats at the bar and the lounge area. We opted for the fireplace to keep us nice and toasty.
google avatar

Yelp
Attended a retirement party at the beautiful outdoor patio at the Monkey Bar inside the Town and Country Hotel! The view of the hotel and pool was open and inviting. I enjoyed the food and service wait staff was attentive. There is plenty of seating and table space for food. I would recommend this location as a great place for a party! Parking is $5 per hour.

Yelp
Called ahead to verify happy hour on Sunday. Confirmed happy hour and went to restaurants and found out some Tiki event was going on. Was handed happy hour menu and ordered. Charged full price even after I addressed it to bartender. Then asked to validate parking as they normally do for restaurant patron only to be told they had an event and told I had to pay $18 for an hour of parking. This is complete fraud and I will never return to this place again. Nothing on there website told me about this and handing out happy hour menus shows complete lack of management engagement. Holes looks like a 70's motor lodge on the outside that did a cheap remodel on the inside. Stay away from this place that charges Vegas hotel prices and delivers cardboard crusted pizza. No attempt to make right. San Diego known for its amazing beer and they have sad selection like someone who doesn't have there pulse on what San Diego is all about. Should relocate to east county.

Yelp
Though it may be convenient to come here because of the location, I love that I can also get the best service and everyone treats you like family. Kelly, Cody, Mike, Hayley- thank you for always providing great hospitality!

Yelp
Amazing bar and service. Pretzel bites and pizza flatbread were incredible The ambiance for being a hotel bar is awesome too

Yelp
I came by to have lunch at Arlo and they were closed. Best thing ever. I ended up at the Monkeybar with Hailie. She's amazing. Sweet. Fun. Attentive. I was having a bummer of a day and she was amazing company. Please let her know she is a gem.

Yelp
The Monkey Bar has a great combination of indoor and outdoor seating, and since it's San Diego the outdoor seating is nice and has a view of the pool. The drinks are good but slightly overpriced, but you are definitely paying for the atmosphere. It feels like you're on vacation!
google avatar

Christine H.

Yelp
Enjoyed drinks several times here while staying at the town and country. They have great indoor and outdoor seating. Service was good, on our last night they were a bit understaffed but it's a nice place to have a drink

Yelp
Great time! My wife and I stopped by here for happy hour to check out the new renovations - wow! She had a couple of sparkling wines and I had a couple pilsners. We order from the decent selection of happy hour items. We had two pizzas - One Fungai and one Chorizo. Decent enough size to request a to go box. Atmosphere was amazing. Live music was being performed by Christian Jules Taylor who if you haven't heard - is a must. Stop by if in the mission valley area, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Amazing food! Amazing bartender! Wonderful drinks and beautiful and relaxed inviorment! I love this place!

Yelp
Located on the perimeter of the hotel pool, it's a very open air bar where you can sit on the outside on one side of the bar and in the lobby on the other side.. It's such a large lobby building though that you don't feel like you're sitting in one. The remodel on this property was done very well! Super retro with modern touches. The drinks were a little pricey but made very well. We sat at a seating area that had very comfortable chairs with umbrellas and low coffee tables. Overall, an enjoyable experience. I'd probably only go back for happy hour food and drinks.
google avatar

Kris G.

Yelp
This is the hotel lobby bar Inside the Town & Country Resort. We stopped by while waiting for our table at Arlo which is right Nextdoor. I loved the fact it has indoor/outdoor seating. They have a full bar and you can order food their as well. I had an old fashioned and it was quite tasty. If at the hotel or waiting for Arlo, great place to grab a drink.

Cole L.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to get a post work drink or relax with friends! All of the bartenders and staff are so nice and helpful. Would recommend this bar to anyone looking to kick back with friends and share a few cold ones!

Yelp
Bartenders Cody and David were exceptionally nice and responsive. I would definitely go back and would recommend Monkey Bar for locals as wells as tourist.

Yelp
This place is soooo cute, just loved it! It's a bar inside of a hotel, such cool vibes. They also have live music sometimes!

Yelp
A solid 4.5 stars but I will round up for them! I'm here for happy hour as I work in the area. HH offerings aren't the best you'll find in town but I'll take a cheap glass of wine and $1 off pizza most days. The pizza is solid and I do like it but it isn't so good that I'm seeking out going here for the pizza specifically. I love the Funghi and the Spaniard is second. For happy hour the wine is pretty dang good. (Normally I find HH wine to be worse than those cheap Trader Joe's bottles you get when you're just feeling like grabbing whatever. That isn't the case here). Again, I'm not so in love with the wine that I'm coming here for the glass but all these factors combined make it a fantastic spot. Truly why I'm here is the ambiance. It's an "open air/inside" sort of space. I prefer sitting at the bar looking out towards the grassy area. I've been here both when it's slow and when it's busy and it's always been a great experience. The bar tenders are nice and even when there's been a convention there and it's been very busy they are mindful and keep track of us lil solo happy hour birds. Great for people watching! I study here, bring friends here, have been on a date here; I think it goes well for just about any occasion. Parking is validated I believe up to two hours as well which I LOVE! You can park in the structure so there's no driving around hunting for a spot like a lot of places in SD. Bathrooms are some of the cleanest in the city.

Gwendolyn M.

Yelp
Great service and very nice drinks! Fun ambiance next to the pool, but still inside. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Travesty. This place had been on my list basically since they opened. Tried earlier this year but they had a private party. Finally made it in today. Ordered that amazing looking Drunken Monkey....and then noticed the suspicious downward spiral of its appearance in pics. On arrival it appeared as pitiful as it in fact was. This was a piss poor drink you'd get in a crappy bar or club. Should be called the Fruit Punch Monkey. No booze no complexity. The Don Draper was an overpriced lazy old fashioned. Exactly what you'd expect from this hotel bar. Don't let the opening day owner photos deceive you. Left with a $40 bill for 2 crap drinks plus $4 parking. Went home and immediately made 2 bomb cocktails worth the $40 bucks we wasted.
google avatar

Apache Mike R.

Yelp
Had a few cocktails here while at Tiki Oasis. They were really good. Nice cozy areas to sit in the hotel entrance too.
google avatar

Joe L.

Yelp
"A 60's Palm Springs vibe" That's how one of my drinking companions described this place, and I would agree. I think Don Draper would have felt at home here, and there is even a cocktail named for him. If you want to relax with friends and feel like you are on vacation, check out Monkey Bar for yourself. I made it just under the wire for happy hour, and Tyler hooked me up with a Drunken Monkey. It's half price from 4 to 6 pm, Mondays through Fridays, and a pretty good deal at that. It's more of a refreshing sipper than a toxic tiki drink, so feel free to get more than one. I was here on a Thursday night, and the music combo was pretty good. I enjoyed my drink, and I got a Stone Delicious IPA afterward because it was National IPA Day. Tyler and the other bartender who served me were great. All in all, Monkey Bar is a place with chill vibes and a mellow atmosphere. I can't comment on the food, though, because it doesn't look like there is anything vegan on the menu. Not one thing. ARLO (the restaurant next door) has a vegan entree, so maybe they would let you order that? Personally, I'm glad I ate before I came. Maybe next time I'll visit at night and hang by the fire pit. I'm glad Monkey Bar is in San Diego instead of Palm Springs. Tip: you have to get your parking ticket validated at ARLO, and it's good for three hours.

Yelp
If I could give it a 10-star rating I would. I was here for a busy conference - there were massive numbers of people at this beautiful resort! And when you work in the service industry, that can pose many challenges... but I will say, with confidence, the customer service of the crew at The Monkey Bar was bar none exemplary and exceptional! We had such a blast! Cody and Mike handled the bar crowd & ALWAYS with beautiful smiles and happy greetings! Never saw them break a sweat, or even slow down. They have a wonderful atmosphere, fire tables, a fire place, and epic "lounging with friends" vibes. Ask Cody to make you a drink we concocted - it's called the "Wedding Reception" (Cody, it was Amaretto, Orgeat, pomegranate, lemon, and champs)!! So much fun !! Go stay at Town & Country Resort and say hi to the wonderful crew at Monkey Bar!! They work hard to make your vacation memorable Excellent work dudes. And Mark - the manager... thank you for the hospitality!! It was "hole-in-one"!!
google avatar

Yelp
Monkey Bar caters to young couples and families. Great place for summer vacations! Not on the coast so more predictable weather.
google avatar

Alisa M.

Yelp
Recently went to Monkey Bar a few times during Tiki Oasis. We take over the entire hotel so Monkey Bar is swinging. Very busy the entire 5 days we were there and they were pretty on it. They have great food and yes they are resort prices but have great deals during happy hour. This was my go to booze spot while I was at Tiki O.
google avatar

Natasha O.

Yelp
-I should have read the reviews before I came here- The drinks were mediocre at best, the bar is in the hotel lounge and occupied mainly by hotel guests - nothing like the opening day photos. The ambiance was giving modern retirement community. The staff were great.
google avatar

Marisa M.

Yelp
Just wanted to update my review because we had such excellent service last week from Stasia! She was super helpful and came around to check on us a bunch. We haven't had service like that here before, especially outside, so hopefully she is there to stay.
google avatar

Yelp
I was THRILLED to finally check out Monkey Bar. Before my trip to San Diego, a few friends recommended this new spot adorably integrated into the Town & Country Hotel. Next time I'll want to try the food, but this time I just ordered the Drunken Monkey cocktail before heading out for dinner. Fruity, tasty, strong. Live music upped the vibes, and the colorful patio furniture (a little dirty) made the ambiance feel extra relaxing. Would come here again if I was in the area.

Yelp
After an experience that left much to be desired at another on-property establishment, our dinner plans were saved by a firecracker of a bartender named Kelly H. The other restaurant basically cancelled our reservation without telling us, at 10PM on a Sunday. When we told Kelly, she apologized profusely and told us that she was going to go see what she could do with the (in the process of closing) bar kitchen, Superstar that she is, she came out 10 minutes later with a piping-hot pizza for my buddy and I to share. Kelly saved our evening and got us squared-away so we could get some sleep and have a great event the next day. It has been years since I visited Town and Country, and the place has grown tremendously. I'm looking forward to find an excuse to return for some of Kelly's amazing customer service at Monkey Bar.
google avatar

Shawn T.

Yelp
Good chicken .. the service is something to be desired a bit slow on the bar service. Great ambience. Cool place to hang out with friends & family.
google avatar

Martha W.

Yelp
I enjoy coming here for the great prices on happy hour and live music on Thursdays from either 4 or 5-7. It started at different times on different days. What I did find is it gets very busy, especially if there's a conference in town. They used to have someone serving the drinks and pizzas, but now you have to go up and wait at the bar to order your drinks and food and with only 2 bartenders it can take awhile. The pizza at $9.00 is a pretty good deal.

D D.

Yelp
Came here on a 2nd date. If you don't mind drinking in a hotel lobby, this place is really nice!! Lots of seating. Special cocktails. Nice bartender. Bar food was really good. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
So relaxing! Decided to check this place out and glad we did. I had heard they renovated the hotel and grounds and not sure about the hotel but the area we were in was very nice and comfortable. They have tons of loungy spaces with umbrellas and the chairs were super comfy. You can sit at the bar (about 6 spots) and order or you can sit in the patio area (big) and a server will come by. They have happy hour that starts at 4pm and we took advantage of that. Our server was so friendly and sweet. She was also very attentive which was nice. We ordered drinks and 2 pizzas, the Fungai and the Chorizo. Both were very good and we had leftovers. They had live music that started at 5 so we sat, relaxed, had a drink and a bite and listened to some live music in the sun. What a way to end the day. We would definitely return! Oh and one other thing. It is $5/hr to park but when we left around 6ish, there was an attendant at the garage gate and he let us through with no payment. That was a nice little plus.
google avatar

Emma C.

Yelp
The food was good, I got the brussel sprouts and my friend got the (forget what it's called exactly) double decker burger. We got a vodka cran and the (forget again lol) speciality monkey cocktail. My friend wasn't a big fan of her drink but my cocktail was good. The service was pretty good but could've been checked on more towards the end. The ambiance was nice with live music and the fire pits.

Yelp
Great place to even come as a local for drinks and it stays open a bit later! -Draft beer -Good cocktails -Not crazy crowded

Yelp
Nice chill vibe But the servers kinda on vacation mode holding the tray walk around never come take order ? Then if you go to bar open tab they are not happy about it , because I didn't order from her I m confused .

Yelp
Drinks during happy hour are so worth it they are perfect strong enough to enjoy and have a good time and the ambiance was great who ever was playing music did a good job

Yelp
Beautiful hotel bar in a professional/resort-style area with a great happy hour and staff. Parking is inside a parking garage and they do validate, but you will have to pay extra after a certain point ($19 total with $9 off with validation.) Outdoor seating is plentiful and heated with glass fireplaces artfully placed in the plaza near the hotel pool. Indoor seating is spacious and beautifully decorated in contemporary furniture and appears to double as a large conference hall for professional events. We tried several of their happy hour offerings: the Drunken Monkey ($7), Glass of Cabaret ($5), Fungi Flatbread ($9), and Spaniard Flatbread ($9). Here are my opinions: *Drunken Monkey: Tastes like a cocktail you'd have in Hawaii. Well done and perfect for lounging outside. *Wine: Good standard glass of Cabaret and well worth the money. *Fungi Flatbread: So delicious, piping hot, with perfectly seasoned arugula on delicious mushroom and cheesy bread. My fave for the night! *Spaniard Flatbread: An elevated meaty, cheesy item that is sure to satisfy your late night cravings with an appropriately nice glass of wine. Some toppings included chorizo, pepperoni, Spanish capers, and more. The only thing that disappointed me was the parking validation and rates on their garage. It's my fault for not having taken notice of the rate, but I would have thought that dining here would have covered more of the expense. It was $19 total for a couple hours and the validation took off $9. Overall, I do recommend checking this area out since it's so beautiful with a great happy hour. Just make sure to watch out for the parking!

Yelp
Love the ambiance. Sitting outside by the fire pits. Drinks are good and reasonable also they will validate parking.
