"Belly up to this Wailea bar, which dazzles with a display of blue-glass Japanese fishing floats, for Hawaii’s best mai tai. Here, chef Peter Merriman, a pioneer of Hawaii Regional Cuisine, brings his genius to the classic cocktail, adding a thick head of honey- lilikoi (passion fruit) foam. Be sure to also score a table for later, as Monkeypod Kitchen does double duty as one of Maui’s top restaurants. Menu standouts include such seasonal dishes as kiawe-roasted squash ravioli, coconut-corn chowder, Hamakua wild mushroom pizza drizzled with truffle oil, and bulgogi pork tacos with Asian pear and house-made kimchi."

I LOVE Monkey Pod! I’m so glad they have this location now. Atmosphere is great. Local live music. Food is fantastic! Amazing food with a local twist. Pizzas are great and so are the tacos. Mac nut crusted fish was prob one of the best I’ve ever had. THE CREAM PIES! What the heck. Best ever. We tried the banana and coconut this time and they were great (still prefer the strawberry and the creamsicle though). Our server was 🔥🔥 too.

We had a wonderful experience here for my daughter’s 21st birthday. They gave us a patio table by the lovely pond/waterfall and service, provided by Tim, was phenomenal. In fact, every employee we encountered was friendly and smiling. We all agreed it was one of the best meals we’ve had in recent memory. Thanks for making our evening and my daughter’s birthday!!

We went there because we visited one of their locations on the Big Island and the food was perfect. This location was different vibe, different food, more crowded, reservations required but they allow for walk in. Drinks were good: after midnight is a gin based, with grapefruit juice and lime and it’s one of the few drinks without the local exotic liquors- excellent refreshing cocktail. There is a selection of beers - a bit too exotic for my taste, but interesting to try. We had a lamb chops dish which was great and a day’s catch macadamia nut crusted - not so great, overcooked for my taste. Our waitress realized that I did not enjoy my meal, barely ate some of it, and took it off the bill, for which I was grateful as the prices are quite high. She offered a replacement dish but I was not willing to wait, she was really nice about it and I appreciated it. I hope that was just a one off as their menu is interesting and I want to go back and try some other food.

Google
This place is way overhyped in my opinion! The wait is crazy even if you make reservations. The menu is very limited for vegetarians and chicketarians. I got the chicken wings and they had a 5 star rub. The accompanying yogurt dip had an herby taste with a hint of blue cheese. I definitely recommend this appetizer. The only pizza option was the mushroom Truffle. It was super plain in taste. It's also pretty small. The famous mai tai was not epic in my opinion. It did get better after the ice melted. One of us commented that olive gardens tastes better. The bar misses much excitement especially since there is a long wait time.

Monkeypod is one of our all-time favorite spots in Maui! Since our first visit in 2015, it’s been the first place we reserve every time we’re back. We were a bit hesitant when the butternut squash ravioli was replaced with taro—but it was absolutely incredible! The pizza was delicious, the drinks were top-notch, and for the first time, we tried the strawberry pie. I have no idea what took me so long—it’s easily one of the top three pies I’ve ever had. The whole staff is top-notch. Our server Julia was so attentive and genuine. Can’t recommend Monkeypod enough!.

Google
Monkeypod was an absolute gem during our trip to Maui. We stopped in for dinner and were blown away by both the food and the service. The fish sandwich was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, flaky and tender inside, with fresh toppings that brought it all together. The seared ahi tuna was a standout: expertly done, full of flavor, and beautifully plated. For dessert, we couldn’t resist the strawberry pie, and thank goodness we didn’t. It was light, fresh, and just the right amount of sweet. A perfect finish to the meal. Service was top-notch: friendly, attentive, and relaxed, exactly the aloha spirit you hope for. Live music was great. Whether you’re visiting or a local, this place hits the mark. Highly recommend!

Google
Monkeypod Kitchen: Fantastic Food & Vibes! Monkeypod Kitchen is a must-visit! The pork and pineapple handmade pizza with jalapeños was delicious, and the spicy. Juicy chicken wings with whipped feta were incredible. Their “happy hour” (3.30pm-5pm) offers great discounts, and the live music creates a special, lovely vibe. Highly recommend!

Google
Monkeypod in Wailea is a fun, lively spot that delivers solid food and drinks with a view. The fish tacos were excellent — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Pair them with their signature Mai Tai, which is not only delicious but surprisingly strong, and you’re off to a great start. The main fish entrée was a bit on the bland side, especially compared to the bold flavors of the starters, but still well-cooked. Despite that, the overall experience was great - good service, great energy, and definitely worth a visit while you’re in Wailea.

Yelp
Overpriced. The truffle pizza was just a couple of mushrooms sprinkled on some weak dough, had to ask for some truffle oil to give it any flavor. Cocktails and service made up for it!

Yelp
We flew into Maui for our anniversary trip and had a reservation booked for dinner. This is a stopping point for visitors. We were seated right away and as we walked in, it was extremely lively and crowded. There are booths, tables, outdoor seating, high tops in front of the kitchen, and bar seating. Our server was phenomenal! She was attentive, funny, and gave us recommendations. There is LIVE music which makes the dinner more enjoyable!! We had such a great time. Drinks - Mai Tai and Cabana Boy. Our server said that they had the best Mai Tai for YEARS in Maui and they weren't wrong. It was strong and the foam on top was fruity. Cabana Boy had pineapple, lime, honey, and mint. Truffle Fries - Comes with Ketchup and Mayo Aioli. Nicely seasoned and topped with cheese. Kalua Pork and Pineapple Pizza - the base of this was PESTO but I would say it was an interesting combo. I enjoyed it though. ***Bulgogi Pork Tacos - omg! My favorite one and must try. It has all the flavors from sour, spicy, juicy, sweet. I couldn't get enough of this one.

Yelp
If you are anywhere near the Grand Wailea or Ulna beach, stopping here is a MUST! Monkeypod Kitchen has an amazing menu that offers plenty of dinner, lunch and drink options. The servers are very friendly and welcoming. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Such a fun way to end my birthday. With an evening out to my first time dining in at this fun location too. They were already fully booked for reservations the day of. Luckily they still take on walk-ins. Even the wait wasn't too bad either. Gave us some extra time to talk story & take some pictures before dinner. My two favorite drinks are the "No Ka 'Oi withocean vodka, thai basil, lime, honey-lilikoi puree+. Plus the Cabana Boy with fid street hawaiian gin, licor 43, pineapple, lime, mint, honey." Although if I had to pick one it would be the Cabana Boy. That drink is the perfect flavor combo. As for starters the Poke Tacos are always a must. Even the Cast Iron Shrimp, it's all about that smoky sauce flavor. I was even dipping the fries in it. Also whenever I can't make up my mind on what to order. My fall back win every time is of course fish tacos. Fresh & tasty takes me straight to my happy place. I didn't save room for dessert this time around. However I wished they had more of a variety to choose from. Until next time. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

Yelp
Within walking distance of nearby hotels (ie Andaz, Marriott). Happy Hour daily (including weekends) from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM: 1/2 off appetizers - excluding seafood entrees $14 pizza - regularly $23 and up $4 off cocktails $3 off wine $2 off wine Worth it especially to grab drinks and light apps before heading somewhere else for dinner.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this restaurant and cannot believe how lucky we got. Food: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Location: 5 stars Outdoor seating: 5 stars Catch of the day was Mahi Mahi and 2 people in our party got the fish tacos. They were glad they did. Said they were light and flavorful. My husband ordered the Avocado & Cucumber Salad and I stole a few tomatoes because they were irresistible. The flavor was so simple with a little kick... and fresh! I ordered the Monkey Business Saimin from the kids menu and again, another simple yet delicious meal. I would definitely return if we weren't island hopping, it's so good I'd go twice in lieu of trying something else.

Yelp
Happy to get a seated in a busy Saturday night without reservations! This is a sister brand of Moku Kitchen on Oahu and they share their signature mai tai (10/10) Live local artist performing created a wonderful and aesthetically pleasing feel amongst the controlled chaos of what you'd expect on a Saturday night during prime hours. I recommend this place 100 percent even when we had to send back the ahi as it was just a bit undercooked. Well done, Monkey Pod. Keep showing out! I love the Merriman brand.

Yelp
Came for happy hour, which is a great deal on food and drinks! Nice breeze through the restaurant. Sat at the bar and had quick service. Food all had great flavor and came out really fast.

Yelp
MonkeyPod was a highly recommended spot when visiting Maui. We weren't able to make reservations but luckily were able to be seated on a Friday evening for happy hour! They have happy hour I believe from 3-5. Our server Bill was amazing! He was attentive, friendly, and knew the menu really well. Apps: we ordered the shrimp and mushroom potstickers and deviled eggs work lobster. The potstickers were delicious but the sauce could have been a better pairing. The deviled eggs were really good and the lobster was a nice touch and super fresh! Pizza: you MUST try the Kalua pork pizza with pineapple and jalapeño! One the fave things we had on the menu! Entree: we also got the fish sandwich which was mahi mahi. The sandwich was perfectly cooked, had the perfect amount of crunch from the veggies and the fries were crispy! Ambiance: I love a good spot with live music! It was such a vibe and really enjoyed the music while dining in! Definitely recommend this spot to others if you're in the area!

Yelp
A perfect Maui evening at Monkeypod Kitchen! We made reservations well in advance and waited a few minutes for outdoor seating - a decision that paid off spectacularly with front-row seats to a stunning Hawaiian sunset. Started with their famous Monkeypod Mai Tais ($18), which are a work of art. The honey-lilikoi foam adds a tropical twist to this classic, and the house-made macadamia nut orgeat gives it a distinctive local touch. The Pete's Fish & Chips ($27) featured fresh troll-line caught fish in a perfect tempura batter. We upgraded to the Garlic Truffle Oil Fries - a genius move. These fries, served with parmesan, whole grain mustard aioli, and their signature ketchup, were absolutely addictive. The highlight was their Kalua Pork & Pineapple pizza ($23). The scratch-made crust using imported Italian Tipo 00 flour provided the perfect foundation for the unique combination of kalua pork, macadamia nut pesto, roasted pineapple, and just the right kick from jalapeños. I'm not usually a pineapple on pizza person but the balance of sweet, savory, and spicy was spot-on. Service was impeccable - attentive and friendly without being overbearing. While prices reflect the upscale Wailea location, the quality of ingredients, expert preparation, and that amazing sunset view make it well worth it. This is exactly the kind of memorable dining experience you hope for in Maui.

Yelp
For sure the best Mai Tai on the island! Since we first came here about 5 years ago this place has gone to a more reservation focused system, booking out weeks in advance. We decided to take our chances at 5pm on a Sunday and were able to get seated right away. We of course got our favorite Mai tais, the passion fruit foam really makes it top tier. We shared the poke tacos and the mushroom pizza which were both tasty and filling. The ambiance was bustling, not an easy place for intimate conversation but a fun atmosphere for a group.

Yelp
Pam and I love coming to Monkeypod every trip to Maui. The service is friendly. The food is fresh and good. The drinks are creative and original. Give them a try!

Yelp
We wanted to go somewhere special for our last night in Maui, and Monkeypod came highly recommended! Make a reservation if you can- they were packed even for a weekday. Fish Tacos - generous portion of fish! Nicely fried. Wish it had more sauce! Kalua Pork and Pineapple Pizza - Think of this like an elevated Hawaiian pizza. It also had jalapenos which gave it a slight kick. This was more like a flatbread than a pizza, but it was yummy! Strawberry Cream Pie - you can't leave without trying their famous cream pies! They have tons of different flavors but we decided to go with the strawberry. However, there's not much strawberry besides a few thin slices on top and some strawberry syrup. I'd probably go with their original banana flavor next time. Service and ambiance was great! However, it goes get pretty loud inside. Still a great option for a sit down dinner in Maui!

Yelp
GET THE MAI TAI. Oh, you don't drink alcohol? Great. Get the virgin mail tai. So. Freaking. Good. We enjoy this spot. Ain't gonna lie - hella loud. If you've had a rough day, might not be the joint for you. Drinks are fun, food is tasty. I had the fish tacos - to die for. A little spicy but flavor is wonderful. My husband enjoyed the seasonal butternut squash, pine nuts and cheese pizza. Good but expected. ORDER THE FRIES.
google avatar

Yelp
There's a reason there are a couple of these across the islands. Very good food and a lot of variety on the menu. I really enjoyed the fish and chips and subbed in garlic fries over normal fries which may have been the best decision of our trip. My wife had the Poke tacos which were good, but she definitely enjoyed my food a bit more than hers (in classic wife fashion) nice service, nice vibes!

Yelp
RESERVATIONS (3/5): They only have a certain number of reservations for the restaurant and the rest they leave for walk-ins which I think is odd, but I guess that works? AMBIANCE (4/5): They have live music (AMAZING!) & it's pretty loud inside, but a very busy and lively place! SERVICE (5/5): For as busy as they were and we had a bigger group they were SUPER QUICK with everything and the food arrived SO FAST! They were cranking it out and we were impressed! FOOD (4/5): $24 POKE TACOS: loved the wasabi cream on top of the tacos, great texture and tasted great for a little kick! $21 SHRIMP POTSTICKERS: these were good. I wish they served it with a different sauce. Maybe ponzu instead of (or in addition to) the sambal chili sauce. $49 GRILLED AHI TUNA STEAK: perfectly cooked with AMAZING sauce! The sauce was what made the dish delicious and served with jalapeño mashed potatoes which I've never seen before, how cool! $18 MAI TAI WITH LILIKOI FOAM: obviously the best Mai tai I've ever had on any of the islands!!! It's so good, must try!

Yelp
I had dinner here recently and really enjoyed it. I had a nice table on the outside patio. I started with the Paradise Cider, Killa Dragon, Apple Cider with Dragon Fruit. The waitress got me a taste of it first and I liked it so I got a glass. For my entree, I had the Mushroom & Truffle Oil - lapa'au farm oyster mushrooms, crimini, truffle oil, mozzarella, provolone, white sauce, garlic, fresh thyme. My waitress at another restaurant told me this was her favorite and she always added bacon. I did the same thing and it was really tasty. Loved the bacon and mushroom flavor on it. It was a big pizza but thin so you did not get too full. They are known for their cream pies so I did Coconut Cream Pie for dessert. Local coconut pastry cream, laie vanilla whipped cream, toasted coconut, homemade pie crust. So yummy. Its a nice size piece - enough to share, but I ate the whole thing. Another really good meal at Monkeypod. Good food and service.

Yelp
This has been our go to right after going to the beach. I love the ambiance and the food! Service is fast. We came here at lunch time during a weekday so not much. Ambiance is really nice, we sat outside and the weather is very nice.

Yelp
Came for happy hour on New Year's Day. Happy hour is 3:30-5 and we showed up at 3:15 and were seated right at 3:30. Server was super friendly, energetic, and helpful. Always there to refill water and drinks. Happy hour deal was great--half price appetizers and $14 pizzas--except any app or pizza with seafood in it. We had bulgogi tacos, pork and pineapple pizza, roasted chicken wings. Kids had the kids cheeseburger and also the poke tacos. Food was tasty though not the most amazing I've had. Hubby loves the Mai tai--says it's one of the best!
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
10/10 would recommend and will be coming back again. The food was delicious (those chicken wings ) and the mai tai really is next level delicious! I'm not usually a fruity cocktail person but this was really good!! The happy hour specials are really unbeatable and they are so kid friendly!! The vibe is so chill and fun with an excellent view. Service is fast and very nice, on top of all the recommendations!! Love love love

Yelp
Monkeypod was PACKED but it's clear to see why: live music, delicious drinks, and a 3-5pm happy hour every day! Our waitress, Paige, was a sweetheart and took care of the six of us: two kiddos and four adults. While all our food was good (hamburger, fish sandwich, fish tacos), we all resoundingly thought the macadamia encrusted fish was by far the best. The kiddos are wimpy and both got butter noodles with parmesan, and we got a side of truffle oil fries and cornbread. Overall, it was a great afternoon late lunch/happy hour, and we hope to go back the next time we're in Maui!

Yelp
Saw this restaurant in food network list. So we decided we just might as well try it. It's in the 2nd floor. There's a stair and elevator if you need one. We don't have any reservation, we just ask the host. So they take your phone number and she said probably about 15min. I just barely went down the stair when I get the text the table is ready. So we went inside to check in. The restaurant is pretty big They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Both our host and server were nice. We ordered: Kalua pork pizza - 6 slices, jalapeno is spicy Lobster deviled eggs - nice Special catch today - Ono fish comes with brocolini and gnocchi. And their famous Mai Tai. Overall food is good. They have bar and live music too Restroom are toward the back

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon - with reservations for 1:30PM. It seems like they get a heavy amount of traffic as there was an outdoor checkin area, then a regular hostess checkin nest inside as well. We were sat at a table near the bar area - with one of the bartenders as our waiter. Usually this could be tricky - especially with a busy bar and the tables being forgotten about or neglected. We ordered a couple drinks and shared the bulgogi tacos (3) as a starter. Topped with spicy mayo, and jalapeno slices - these were very good. The meat had a lot of flavor and the mayo added to that. I probably could have put away 10 of those. For my entree I went with the fresh island fish sandwich - which was grilled. I believe it was mahi, but this was incredibly good. A nice char taste on the flaky fish, plus the slaw was very good. Altogether the sandwich was very good and I'm not usually a fish sandwich person. Added fries as well - which were boardwalk peanut fried style and good. For dessert, I ordered chocolate cream pie - this was good. Flaky crust, pie fill was good and the cream topping was also good. The only thing keeping this from a 5 was the fact we were heavily neglected by the bartender once the bar got busy. As I knew - not that it's anyone's fault - just happened and extended our visit about 25min more than comfortable. Highly recommended!

Yelp
The cocktails were great while we waited for our table. I had the snapper special and my husband got the macadamia nut encrusted mahi mahi. Both were delicious.
google avatar

Darren N.

Yelp
A great atmosphere and stellar service. They've also got an extensive menu of a range of price points. Their fish and chips were substantial and came with a helping of familiar dipping sauces. Their dessert pies were flaky and flavorful. If I'm ever in the neighborhood again I'd not resist another visit. Parking out front, make reservations but even if you neglect to, they may take a walk-in right away.
google avatar

Kristen T.

Yelp
If I could give Monkeypod 15 stars I would. This was our favorite restaurant we tried on the island. The inside is beyond beautiful and has a great vibe. We got some really amazing service, too. There was live music playing and the artist was so good! The food and drinks were phenomenal. The ahi wonton tacos were out of this world I had more than I should have! The fish and chips were perfect and we still talk about it months later. I'm sad we won't be back any time soon, but it will be one of our first stops if we find ourselves back in Maui!
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I ended our trip in Maui with a reservation at Monkeypod! This location was busy but we had a reservation made for Monday night. We got there a half hour early and the staff was able to accommodate us immediately! We started off with a delicious mai thai! I can tell why they're so renowned for their mai thais since everyone seemed to be ordering at least one. After that my husband got the catch of the day fish sandwich while i got the bulgogi pork tacos and we split an order of truffle oil parmesan fries. All the food was delicious but my only complaint was that the corn tortillas for my tacos seemed to disintegrate after a few minutes of resting. All in all, between the live music and the great drinks/desserts i would definitely try this place again (just maybe avoid the tortillas)!
google avatar

Lori A.

Yelp
came here for lunch and was not disappointed! I ordered their fish and chips and loved the side of kimchi-- good touch! They have happy hour starting at 3:30 pm. Also, the service was great and everyone was friendly.

Yelp
We had a last-minute excursion to Monkeypod Kitchen while staying at a nearby hotel. Our car dropped us off, and I'm so glad we went! They're known for having the best Mai Tai, and it truly lived up to the hype--it was fantastic. We also tried their lillikoi foam and scratched made pizza dishes, which were phenomenal, and a few other cocktails that were absolutely delicious. Honestly, I was so immersed in the experience that I didn't even take any photos! The live music added to the vibrant atmosphere, and I barely picked up my phone once we sat down. The ambiance was great, and the staff were amazing, making our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, the drinks, especially the Mai Tai, were superb. We loved everything about it!

Yelp
Came for thanksgiving, and sat right away at the bar. They had a special turkey Thanksgiving dinner menu which looked delicious, however we opted for the more local options. Had delicious libations: piña colada, tequila pineapple, and the Mai tai... the Mai tai was hands down my fav! Highly recommend! Apps we ordered were shrimp skillet and the lobster deviled eggs. Great to share between two. Shrimp had a good kick to it. Main dishes were macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi and my husband had the ribeye! Both delicious, and def took some home for leftovers because we were filling up on apps and drinks prior. My husband finished with the strawberry cream pie! All in all, food was great, service was fast, and staff were friendly! We would recommend to anyone. We even had nice chats with the locals seated at the bar.
google avatar

Jon O.

Yelp
No matter what your order for dinner, save room for dessert! The Monkeypod's cream pies are fantastic, nice and light and topped with various fruit. For dinner I had their bulgogi pork tacos which were packed with spicy gochujang flavored meat, though I wasn't a huge fan of the corn tortillas. My wife really enjoyed her mahimahi sandwich, usually she's not a fan of that type of fish but this was grilled nicely and was tasty. My biggest complaint is the noise level. This place gets VERY LOUD when busy, to the point where you're practically yelling at your table mates to be heard. Don't think they can do anything about it, just be prepared.
google avatar

Joe L.

Yelp
Good service, nice ambiance, and good food. I had the fish tacos (mahi) and they were definitely on the small size but there were three of them. They have a decent beer selection but were out of both stout and porter and don't have amber beer. My friends liked the burgers but the consensus on the gnocchi was it was greasy (tasted by two people). $18 Mai tais and $10 beers.
google avatar

Steph A.

Yelp
Awesome spot! We came for happy hour and had to get the Mai Tai's. They had foam on top and were incredible. We got the Mushroom Pizza from happy hour, which was $13, and had to also try the lobster deviled eggs. Our server was awesome and it was probably one our our favorite spots our entire trip! Keep in mind, they do limit the number of drinks per person (can't have more than 5 per person)... which is super smart because I can drink those Mai Tais all day!

Yelp
While visiting Hawaii we went to the Merriman's restaurant at Kapalua and absolutely adored it. It was such a fantastic time so this felt like a no-brainer. This place did not disappoint. A more casual relaxed vibe. We went during happy hour so drinks were flowing!! They even had live music with a great singer. Lots of open lighting too and really spacious not too cramped at all. Paige was our server and she made our experience feel like a warm welcome in. Food was solid -- got the burger, pizza and fries. A place to chat and grab a bite. Would love to visit again.
google avatar

Kailey C.

Yelp
Favorite dish was definitely the wood fire chicken wings!! It's rare to see wings that aren't fried, so we had to try them and they were spicy, juicy and had just the right amount of seasoning. I would go back just for these during happy hour. Drinks were solid, enjoyed the pizza and fish was fresh in the tacos. I got the macadamia crusted mahi which was also cooked very well, it was a bit oily but the flavor was there. Overall solid food would come back! And our server was very charismatic and sweet :)

Yelp
Ate here 4 nights in a row while staying at a nearby resort. The mai tai is everything you've heard. It's sweet and tangy and strong. Must try. The staff are all very welcoming and knowledgeable. We went for happy hour every time which makes the pizzas and drinks worth it. If you love hawaiian pizza, their pork and pineapple pizza is insane. 10/10. Since we did try it 4 times there was one night where the pork was very fatty and not crispy but still delicious nonetheless. The house cut fries: seasoned perfectly and a generous portion. The sauce they give on the side is the highlight of eating here, it's delicious and definitely recommend this as your appetizer. Dessert: We tried every single pie here and the chocolate cream pie is the best. Strawberry is second and coconut third. I'd only recommend the banana if you are a huge banana fan! Our last night dining here the fries were extremely burnt and the burger I ordered was well done instead of medium well how I had ordered. So again, it can be a hit or miss. For 3/4 times to be perfect I'd say that's 5 star worthy. There's never much of a wait and we went on weekends and weekdays. For a party of two at least. 10 minutes at most without reservations and a busy night. The lot seemed to have plenty of parking as well.

Yelp
We went here during happy hour (don't remember when it starts, but it ends at 5), so the appetizers, pizzas, and cocktail drinks were half off (excludes the poke tacos). The 2 things that stood out were the kalua pork & pineapple pizza and the mai tai, which comes with a pineapple foam on top.

Yelp
This spot def lives up to the hype! We visited Merrimans a couple days prior and it was so so yummy we knew we needed to try their casual sister restaurant! We came during happy hour, half off apps and pizza- and drinks were 3 or 4 bucks off. Everything was so so yummy and high quality. Service is great too! Our server Paige was super attentive and sweet. Food came out super fast after our apps! Definitely would recommend 10/10

Yelp
Ok. So we visited here twice, different locations. Went to both Wailea and the Kihei location. Both locations are same-same. The Kihei location is in the midst of a resort colony in an upscale shopping center. The Kihei location is upstairs in a strip center as well, but not quite as touristy as Kihei. (Tourists dominate the dining room at both locations). The food was consistent and good. If they have the Ahi steak sandwich melt, My wife enjoyed that. I had the Mahi Fish sandwich and it was good as well, but I liked the Ahi one better (I prefer Ahi over Mahi, so take it as personal bias). On recommendation; we tried their signature Mai-Tai. There take on it is very good. Waht makes it so ono? A fresh pineapple whip tops it. when the flavor gets down into the drink, it combines for maybe the best Mai-Tai I have had. I also liked their Na-Ka-Oi using Ocean Vodka. Very crisp with island flavors. Being a local chain, I will return. Prices are tourist prices though. Also, because Kihei is in a busy shopping center, the wait can be long. If you are on a tight budget, try going at happy hour, for their discounted happy hour menu. A-hui-ho. Mahalo.

Yelp
Good ambience and servers. Food is good but the last visit my fish was over cooked. Usually dishes shine and flavors blend magically. Burger was just ok but also usually delish! I think this was an off night since it was Halloween. Not to worry we will be back and visit this local yummy restaurant almost weekly. Make your Rez soon because this is a favorite for locals and visitors. Mai tais are the best in town!

Yelp
Indulging in the aloha spirit at Monkeypod Kitchen in Wailea, We savored every bite of our exquisite dinner, courtesy of the exceptional service provided by Preston. The tranquil atmosphere transported us to a state of relaxation, allowing us to fully appreciate the culinary delights before us. We devoured the tender Bulgogi Pork Tacos, refreshing avocado cucumber salad, and creamy Gnocchi pesto dish, each bite a masterclass in flavor and texture. Paired with spicy cucumber margaritas that added a delightful kick, it was a match made in heaven. No meal is complete without dessert - the banana cream pie was the perfect sweet finish to an already unforgettable evening. Note: make a reservation. Popular dining spot!

Yelp
Delicious! We came out here our second night in Maui and it was great. Even our Uber said this was one of his fav spots to go to! We had to walk in as reservations online was only available for the next night (it was still limited options-- so make those reservations ahead of time). We were told our wait would be 10-20 minutes but an opening came up so we were seated right away. As we got seated, we were met with a sweet welcome and a recommendation for their mai tai (really good with the passionfruit foam I believe). Live music was playing; and when they took a break, music kept playing lightly. 10/10 Mai tai. Good amount of alcohol hehe 10/10 ahi steak. It had a nice char to it, but still had that softness to it. The sides that came with complimented the steak very well. 10/10 tacos. We had the sour cream on the side and it still tasted good with/without it. Salsa went great with it. 8/10 banana cream pie. Nothing super special about it but it was still good. Overall I would go back again if I wanted to have a night out. However it is pricey.

Yelp
The catch of the day was good, but the lobster mashed potatoes were underwhelming. Service was great and the meal arrived fairly quickly. We were disappointed that the pies are just no bake whipped cream and cream cheese but all have a different topping though. We also came to try the lobster deviled eggs, but they aren't buying ...eggs due to the shortage. It was packed at 4:30, but they seated us at 5:00 so they wait wasn't too long without reservations before sunset.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere! Fantastic location for an evening meal and the Mai Thai's are the best in Maui, Hawaii.

Yelp
Great ambiance and atmosphere - live music, and very friendly staff. Our server was amazing and gave us a detailed rundown of the entire menu and their recommendations. Drinks - ordered the Mai tai which was great. There's a pineapple foam that sits on top of the drink. You mix it with the rest and the flavors melt together. Drink was strong otherwise. Apps - only tried the potstickers however the sauce it comes with is a bit salty. There's no avoiding it since it's smeared on the plate. Other wise it's good! Mains - we ordered the fish sandwich and ahi steak. Fish sandwich comes a la carte but we ordered truffle fries on the side. The sandwich was tasty and fries were nice and soggy (just how I like em haha). Ahi steak came over a bed of jalapeño mash with some veggies. Perfect meal imo! Both were very flavorful! I'll most likely visit again while I'm here :) make a reservation!!!

Yelp
Kalua Pineapple Pizza 9.6/10 * (kalua, pineapple pork, macadamia nut pesto, roasted pineapple, jalapeño green onion) - Absolute dub of a pizza. The jalapeno were the most perfect spice level, the pineapple was sweet and delicious Lobster deviled eggs 8.7/10 * (fresh lobster farm fresh eggs) - these were divine. Soft eggs with a decent amount of lobster Mai Tai was so cute and fun Espresso Martini good but would switch up next time

Yelp
Yum!! Excellent food. We also had their lamb, fish & chips, chicken wings, taro ravioli, and everything was delicious. The staff were all very nice and our waiter was very attentive. Love the outdoor indoor seating or bar area for options and space. The manager Kainoa is Mr Aloha always looking to please and provide high expectations in service. Highly recommend. We will be back for more fun and great grinds.

Yelp
This is definitely not my first visit here. I have been to all the Monkey Pod locations but we have gone to this specific one for the past 3 years. It's a must visit location anytime I am in Maui. I still come here for the mai thais with their lilikoi foam top! They do offer the mai thais in shots too, which is always a fun pre starter. On this most recent visit, the person who sat us at our table recommended that we try another cocktail and ask for the lilikoi foam on top of that. We took a chance and now we have a new favorite. The No Ka 'Oi. It is Ocean Vodka, Thai basil, lime, honey and lilikoi puree. Don't forget to ask for the lilikoi foam on top! Because we were celebrating our anniversary they did offer us some free champagne The best thing to eat is the lobster deviled eggs. Simple, delish, and fresh! We also got the chicken wings because they were gluten free and the dipping sauce was tasty! The cast iron shrimp is also a good choice. You cannot go wrong with truffle fries, but I tend to continue leaning into the seafood when I'm in Hawaii. You have to try the grilled fish tacos, they are some of my favorite. For dessert, you definitely need to get the coconut cream pie. The banana cream pie is also delicious but the coconut is local coconut. They do offer a good happy hour as well so keep that in mind if you are looking for a nice pre game. The location is very vibrant, and the prices are in the mid range. Don't forget to get a drink with that lilikoi foam
