Monk's Charburgers

I been going to Monk’s Charburgers for a while since we can’t eat beef right now we have been ordering from here sometimes. And times when we are able to eat beef. My dad tried the Fish Tacos with fries and a medium coke drink loved it! I ordered a Fish sandwich hamburger with Zucchini-mushrooms instead of fries and a medium coke drink, I loved the fish sandwich and crispy zucchini-mushrooms with a small cup of ranch dressing.

The food is fantastic. They really pay attention to special orders. The service was through and kind. They brought my food to me, I ate in. I'm giving the Atmoshere a 4 only because it was busy, which is good, but it does get loud inside, it echos really well.

UNSANITARY FOOD HANDLING. I walked in and placed my order and there was no cashier so the cook rung me up, punching it in on the register screen. The regular cashier then walked up to take my payment. The cook went directly from touching the screen to handling the food with his bare hands. I spoke to the manager about what he did, short haired blond pony tail lady all in black. She got defensive and told me ‘but did he touch the money?’. I told her and that her screen is still filthy and why. Again, ‘did he touch the money?’. She couldn’t come up with any other response for me. What else are you people hiding? Anyone with half an ounce of common sense knows that touching the order screen is the same as touching money and credit cards handled by booger fingers, sneezed in, coughed in hands. I went home and ate what he didn’t touch and threw the rest of their crap in the trash. I have been going there for years and won’t be buying their food again. I’ll have to ask my restaurant owner friend if this is something that should be reported and where to report it.

Let me start of by saying they have really good hamburgers and fires, but when it comes to carné asada fries and pastrami chili cheese fries they could be better. The meats in both plates need more seasoning because they were pretty bland and the guacamole they provided didn’t really help because it was extremely watery and was more of a green tomatillo sauce. They do however give you a big portion so that’s a plus and the price is reasonable. But I would only come here for hamburgers in the future.

I love the atmosphere. People here are friendly. This place is surprisingly busy for a place that doesn't serve anything all that special. The hash browns were mushy with grease and flavorless. I'd only come here once in a while because I sometimes hang out in the area.

Best Chili Cheese Fries ever!!! This is a typical hamburger place looks pretty much like all the others. However; this place is clean and the workers are very friendly! Hamburgers are delicious, onion rings are great and the fries are nice and crispy and oh the chili fries are like no other!! Definitely recommend this place because so far everything I've tried here is Delicious! Quality of food is good and the price isn't bad at all.

My favorite charbroil burger joint! Must visit at least 1 time when in town. Freshly prepared and onion rings are always golden brown fried to perfection! Get the #1 combo with oring upsize...Best value in town!!!

We always order drive thru at this place and I have ordered a variety of things -- Ham and egg breakfast burrito. Chili cheese fries. Chicken sandwich. Club sandwich. Zucchini fries. Eggs and bacon breakfast. French toast. Each of these are all delicious and tasty. Their service is quick. It's a family owned spot which makes me more compelled to order from them. I haven't sat inside to eat but always looks clean, and the parking lot looks clean too.

Nothing is bad here! Everything is delicious, from the burgers, to their breakfast burritos, chili cheese fries honestly everything is delicious! Their team is so kind and quick! Best service and always so quick!

Ok I haven't really tried much from this place, but what I did try got me hooked! The fried mushrooms! Perfect size & amount with their ranch dressing was yummy in my tummy. My niece, who's kind of a regular highly recommends the chilli cheese fries. She loves the service here & it's a nice chill place to eat.

RIDICULOUS amounts of meat in the pastrami. Look at the picture I posted! This is unacceptable that they rip you off this way.

Local burger joint .. good friendly service .. many combinations to choose from .. just the right portions not too little and not too much .. menu kinda big for a burger place .. just be careful if use drive thru door right at front on drive thru exit .. very cute girl working the drive thru ..

This is my home burger spot. I go here all the time, the food is good but the service and portions are horrible. The lady always has an attitude with me when I'm ordering. Curly hair. I pay more money for the size and portion of the food i get. They skimp on their food a lot. Great quality, horrible service and portions.

I ordered through the drive thru. The order taker was very nice. The salad was basic, almost NO cheese and very few tomatoes. The club sandwich was super small and not cut into four triangles. It's supposed to be cut into TRIANGLES! The sandwich does not come with fries. I just assumed it did, so I was very disappointed. I would try it again, but I wouldn't order these items again.

Love the Zucchini-Mushroom really delicious and crispy with a small cup of ranch dressing. I also ordered a fish sandwich hamburger with my medium coke drink! Dad got 2 fish tacos with fries and coke he also enjoyed it! We also ate before have another picture of a beef hamburger.

Poor customer , I was placing a order through drive through and was speaking to a gentleman requesting ranch when I was rudely interrupted by this girl with glasses aggressively saying well your gona have to pay for those two ranches . And I responded didn't mind paying for them! She was acting like I was asking for freebies and acting like she owns the damm resturant ‍ When I pulled up to the window she takes my debit card all rudely ! People that should not be in customer service and need to find a different job !

I like Monk's. I actually have not had their namesake charburgers but, I do enjoy their enchiladas. If you are looking for something healthy, this is not the spot as Monk's is a "greasy spoon" type. My go-to here is the cheese enchiladas, beans and rice. Tasty. The mister has gotten various burritos from the breakfast ones, wet, carne asada, etc. Oddly though, they have taken the pork items off the menu! A bit over a week ago, my nephews wanted to get pork tacos but, we had to get beef instead. We liked everything we got except that the rice was overdone and left unfinished. We usually get the same guy cashiering whose service is OK. Just 3 stars overall!

Monks is conveniently located and has 2 driveways to enter and exit, as well as a drive thru. There are high tables inside, but booth seats available as well. Their prices are reasonable, and the service is pretty quick as well. Staff are kind as well. Their burgers are decent. I tried a bacon cheeseburger and honestly it was better than expected. Their fries could use a bit more seasoning. I've also tried their chili cheese fries. They're decent, but some days they're not as great. I'm not sure what kind of cheese is used, but it's not the best. Their zucchini fries are good, they could use a bit more seasoning as well though. I personally haven't tried their tacos, but I heard they weren't the best. This restaurant is definitely worth giving a shot, especially if you just want a quick simple meal. Thank you

I am so blessed to be within walking distance of this burger joint. Ordering doesn't take long but waiting around for your food could run a pretty minute but that's how you know they're busy and food is made fresh! I thought my favorite order would be their Colossal burger (pastrami burger) with chili cheese fries (their chili has a mini kick to it too!) But having major cravings for chicken tenders lately, my new go to is: - Colossal Burger with cheese - Kids Meal Chicken tenders and fries with ranch - ask or get yourself their banana peppers to go with the burger It's a lot of food so definitely for the days gym rats call "cheat days" but it is fricking sublime and quickly becoming a staple for a pick me up after a rough week at work. Best part, I feel less guilty having WALKED THERE and BACK, so I got some exercise in before pigging out.

Service was good but the burger i wasn't impressed the bun was stale and the club sandwich soon as I took it out of the bag it feel apart so it's no return for me

Apparently they're now adding onions onto the chili cheese fries without asking and just so happens I'm allergic so :))) thanks for that !!

My favorite place to get chili cheese fries in the area. Super close to my place. The burgers are mediocre but the chili cheese fries sooo yummy! I need to watch my eating habits... I always keep coming back for them! Best part is that they have a drive thru!! But be careful exiting the drive thru area because the drive thru window is right next to the entrance into the restaurant.

Great neighborhood burger place. Never been disappointed. The family that owns it is so helpful and kind. The food is good quality for the price. I never really eat in because we always call our order in for pick up, but the few times I did go in it was super clean. They care about their business

Whenever I have cheat days, I definitely come to Monks! Their burgers are made perfectly, nice and chargrilled. The service is phenomenal as usual! Amazing customer service. Their breakfast burritos tastes really good and at a good price. And their chili cheese fries are amazing! You also have to get the fried mushroom and zucchini!! DELICIOUS!!

Since I was a kid I've always ordered chilli cheese fries with a chilli cheese burger. They started using processed cheese instead of real cheese on the chilli fires. The real cheese is what made it so delicious. I stopped getting that a while back after that happened. Now I order a chilli cheese burger and I can barely even tell they put chili in it. The quality has gone down tremendously. They need to step it back up. I'll be going to Famous Burgers until that happens.

I go here all the time and it never fails. I recommend seasoned fries if you decide to go with a burger combo but all their food is good! I don't ever write reviews but these guys work hard and I respect them they always treat me very kindly and I'm grateful to have them in my area!

This place is a disgrace . I went here an ordered some chili cheese fries with extra cheese and it was nasty . You know why it was no good? The reason is that put some dam Velveeta or some crap. Like government cheese . It wasn't like Sharp Cheddar Jack ! It was some government cheese or Velveeta ! It wasn't the right cheese for chili cheese fries . What a disappointment and an insult to the senses . These were probably the worst ever Chiki cheese fries of all time . They gave me that old nasty cheese ! Shame on you monks . You used to be cool . What happened? This is what happened. You like cutting costs and putting Velveeta on my dam chili fries ! Just like Trump would say . It's a disgrace !! Thank you

First time there. It was an impulsive stop. Bacon breakfast burritos (no cheese) are really good! They also provided a good size salsa on the side. The drive through service was quick.

The food is your typical corner burger joint. I don't know where they all get their food but all the burgers and fries taste the same. The people here are very nice. It has gotten a little pricey over the years but that's expected.

Chili cheese fries are fire. Great club sandwich. All the food is hot and fresh. Clean area inside. The team is very helpful and kind.

Monks makes the most scrumptious ranch dressing and perfect for their yummy French fries. And their pastrami is a must have. Make sure to get their chili cheese burger ! It's messy but awesomely delicious

It hurts to write this as I was hoping to find a new hole in the wall burger joint and my good buddy Big Mo highly recommend it. Well Big Mo let me down. Don't trust a guy who drinks can with good sushi I guess. Got a double cheeseburger and figured you can't go wrong. Well you can go wrong! Big Mo you owe me a good recommendation after this one. He's 1 for 2 so far. Mushy burger with burnt Pattie's and slightly burnt buns. Ingredients didn't stand out and very little flavor. Larry's in Pedro much better. Decent fries and fried zucchini at least.

Love this place. We've been coming here for years. Whenever we are in town, this is a must for us. Zucchini fries, pastrami sandwich and ranch. The BEST!

I didn't realize I would have to ask for cheese in an omelette. Got it home from drive thru, opened it up and dug in. UH, why did it taste like something was missing? I unfolded it and not a shred of cheese. Maybe it's in the fine print that you have to specifically say you want "an omelette with cheese."

She (black top) is a huge disservice to this family owned business. Her entire body language read, " I hate my job". When she handed my son his card he thanked her , She didn't say "you're welcome " but instead slammed the window...! When I brought her bad attitude to her attention She became defensive/sarcastic. When she handed him our food, she still had the audacity say out loud "you're welcome. There is that better?" it's people like her that only push for a business to decline. The food was great but I left here w a bad taste in my mouth. I won't be back.

Best mom and pop burger shop in Carson! Get the fried mushrooms, you will not be disappointed! This is my childhood spot and I hope they will be around for many more years to come.

The girl in the glasses is rude and very stingy on the condiments. Everytime we go we always end up paying $50 or more so we would expect EXTRA KETCHUP AND EXTRA CHILI PEPPERS. Every time we ask her she says it's already in the there and when we check it's never in there.

Love the fried zucchini & sweet potato fries from here . They also make the best ranch dip to top it off.

The food here is edible, but disappointing. I don't think I'll be coming back in the future. We ordered a hamburger, chili burger, and fries. The bread for the burgers was super dry and the patties tastes a bit over cooked. The only saving grace for the meal and my experience was the service (pretty quick and easy with a phone order), the fries (pretty tasty and crispy), and the generous serving of a side of ranch (which was pretty tasty). Maybe we ordered the wrong thing and there are better items on their menu, but if their base item is their hamburger there's much to improve on.

I was in the area and hungry, so I decided to try this place. I went in and saw a roast beef burrito on the menu. It sounded good, so I ordered it. Big mistake! The "roast beef" was thin, hard flakes that didn't taste like beef. There was so much of it! It was supposed to have cheese and salsa inside, but I was so grossed out by the weird smell and taste, I couldn't bring myself to look in it. I've never seen anything like it. They need to take it off the menu. Ugh!

Breakfast burritos are delicious so amazing!! Been a customer since 2002 , and 20 years later the food continues being delicious. Whatever you are in a mood for they have it.

Came here Tuesday morning as I was staying nearby; it was walking distance away. It's a small hole in the wall place that offers breakfast items, burgers, and sandwiches, amongst a few other items. The pastrami sandwich caught my eye even though I also wanted to try the cheeseburger. I couldn't eat both so I went with the pastrami sandwich and added a side of fries. The pastrami sandwich had a few simple ingredients inside and wrapped with paper. The only down side is that there was a bit too much oil/juice coming out that the bread was a bit soggy when I got it. Flavor was there though. The fries were freshly fried and was hot and crispy when I got. Would like to come back and try the cheeseburger.

Seriously $4.20 for this size of zucchini fries, and plus they can't even fill up the ranch sauce ?? I hit up many similar mom and pop places and their zucchini fries portion is never this SMALL! The price of this portion should be half the price... Major Rip!!! Disappointed!

Been going to monks for years! I get the special omelette sometimes or a cheeseburger combo w ranch and root beer. Their chili cheese fries are also good and their pastrami sandwich is really really good! If u want a pastrami sandwich have it here you won't be disappointed because it's loaded with pastrami and I always add cheese. I have also had their steak sandwich and fried mushrooms. I don't know what it is but they have the best fried mushrooms in the south bay! Go here now

I went ordered a breakfast burrito at the drive thru, from here and they gave me a breakfast sandwich. When I took it inside to let them know, the staff was very kind and courteous and went to work on the correct item. Unfortunately, the burrito I received, along with the large drink did not add up to the 20 dollars I was charged. The picture below, shows a size comparison. This is a five dollar burrito at best. They simply dumped the inside of the sandwich in to my burrito because this thing is pathetic. Great staff! Terrible portions and prices. This burrito allegedly has bacon, sausage, ham, onions, salsa, avocado, eggs, cheese and hash browns. It tasted like each item was pinched and sprinkled in. The tortilla takes over any flavor you might experience. Just a disappointing breakfast, to say the least. But I definitely learned not to get food from here. Still, great service. They need to fix their intercom in the drive thru.

Ive had chili cheese fries all over the place. even nice restaurants like Johnny Rockets. No one has decent Chili fries, except this place. Best chili fries around.

Quality is Ok, Not Inexpensive, Zucchini is great! Came here with a few of my coworkers for lunch. One ordered the burger which was ok. The other ordered an omelet which she said was ok. The other ordered the club sandwich, which looked ok and the Zucchini. I ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich. ~~~Ambiance This is your typical Hamburger Joint! Cleanliness is ok. ~~~Chicken Salad (See Photo) The portion was huge. The chicken was dry. Basically a bunch of lettuce, sliced tomato and a large portion of cut up dried chicken. The salad with a drink was expensive at 8.25. ~~Zucchini I will give the Zucchini 4 Stars. It was Yummy. Order this if you come here. When all is said and done, I doubt I will return. There are way too many other places to go for lunch if you spend 8.25.

This restaurant became my favorite place for burgers and pastrami chili cheese fry. Pastrami is in perfect taste. Cheese burger also, very delicious! The service is very friendly with a nice smile welcomed. Will definitely go back when I would like to have a burger or fries.
