"This is so much more than a grocery store: In fact, in true French fashion, it does simple clothing—streamlined totes, striped tees—really, really well. And at prices you’d expect from a supermarket. The baby selection is particularly sweet. Other locations: 9th Arrondissement, 6th Arrondissement, plus several others throughout the city."

I love this Monoprix. People are very helpful. I have found nearly everything I needed for my two-month stay in Paris here. The grocery section is very good as well. I go here two or three times a week and truly enjoy the experience.

I found it! They have LEC ice cream by Charles Leclerc! The Monoprix conveniently has spoons, so you can immediately dig in while sitting in Place des Vosges, living your best life.

Amazing selection of cheese (comtes up to 30m and from Marie Cantin, Beaufort été, etivaz). The cheesemonger was so kind and efficient. Also a small but neat selection of clothing with dressing rooms available.

*RODENTS* The location is great and everything is as it should be with the exception of rats 🐀 which are visible in the store when it is open. On this occasion I noticed one between the registers and ‘fresh sea food.’ This begs the question of organisational hygiene. When I mentioned it to store staff, they were not concerned and said, it happens. It may be a part of Parisian culture I am not able to acclimate to yet. They could have a higher rating if they were to be rodent-free and have proactive customer service.

Bad melon. Salad had too much cranberries and nuts

As much as I like Monoprix elsewhere (maybe not like, but I don't hate them as much as this branch), I've always had negative experiences in my past visits. I don't think I'm a particularly difficult customer as well! I just want to get my stuff, pay and get out. I go to this monoprix more because I don't have a choice because it is near my home. Otherwise I would avoid it like the plague. Case in point: first visit. Cashier was extremely slow despite knowing very well there was a huge line. I only had one item to check out. I obviously did not look happy. The cashier had the cheek to "school" me publicly in front of everyone. Since when was it OK to shame your customers instead of doing your job, which is to check people out quickly? I'm not even asking for them to smile or pretend to be friendly or polite.

With the current works going on I think they should of closed up instead of adding that many fridges on the top floor adding an incredible amount of heat from the fridges cooling system. Otherwise a nice supermarket in normal times.

Half of the time I buy fruits or vegetables here are crowded of fungus, the garlic and the potatos started to grow roots... hobestly it seems that they forgot for days the fruits in the same location. The ones in the bottom are full of spores. Additionally is one of the most expensive supermarkets in the city and the quality is quite poor. The customer service is terrible, they act like they are doing you a favour and even take the freedom of scolding in public you when the automatic machines where you pay by your own stop working. It worths to take the metro and go to the markets outside of the city. Cheaper things and fresh. I've attached the photo of the last 🍇 I bought but is a general thing in all the fruits and vegetables. And I am soft just posting here in google chrome, if I sent to the public services the photos I took I'm pretty sure that this won't pass the sanitary control.

Yelp
Love this store, you can find anything felt like a French Walmart, service was great friendly staff

Yelp
Love this store great variety and selection!!! Prices are competitive. Employees seem friendly, not overly helpful

Yelp
Great store, glad there was one down the street from our hotel. We sort of ran into it accidentally while looking for another store. just like Target, in fact a little better. i only bought clothes from Target once or twice and got OK stuff. This store has some slick fashion. I would definitely shop for men's fashion (casual, not dressy) at Monoprix.

Yelp
Love this place! A bit like Target in France, but the baked goods and food is very nice!

Yelp
You're probably wondering how I managed to survive Paris when the euro was raping the dollar with no mercy. Here is your answer: Monoprix. They stock this one generic brand of smoked salmon that costs 3 euros for like a pound and I used to have that as my day's food. It tastes better than premium brands, actually. Also, two words: coconut yogurt. I don't know why there isn't coconut flavored yogurt in the US, but I think it's simply unacceptable. Their wine selection is also stellar if you are into buying wines for less than 5 euros, and who isn't? Even if you're on vacation, I highly recommend getting grocery for snacks and then only dining out at select spots. Especially if you're going to visit a spot like Sacre Coeur, the selection of eateries in the area are just an abyss of traps for money, you should definitely bring a picnic basket with you and eat on the steps and enjoy one of the best views in Paris. Seriously, I just shed a baby tear at the thought of it. They also have cute lingerie and espadrilles [in the summer]. I love you, Monoprix. I didn't think I'd ever feel that way about a supermarket, but you changed all that.

Yelp
I love the Monoprix - it has everything you need and then some. Reasonably priced, nicely displayed clothing for women, men and children? Check. Home goods like towels, décor and kitchenware? Check. A small pharmacy with beauty products too? Check. And, in the lower level, a very nice grocery store? Check. Really, a great place to pick up all the stuff you forgot to pack and an even better place to stock the fridge. The best part is reasonably priced (under EUR 5), good quality bottles of wine!

Yelp
Monoprix is kind of a French version of the American all purpose, clothing first, housewares and food second.... Target. The clothing stands front and center first, then household, cosmetics, and magazines. Go upstairs for useful things. Stationary, etc. If you are a petite person, you will find an interesting range of stylish clothes for a moderate price. The quality of which, beat the heck out of Target imho, but for size....I'm 5'9 and I found that the really awesome jeans will be underpowered for my lengthy frame. But I enjoyed fingering, I also enjoyed looking at the very small shoes meant for much smaller feet than mine. I will go back just to cruise the aisles and admire what all the small well turned out French are wearing this season.

Yelp
Loved this Monoprix. Helpful staff and huge selection. The grocery store is downstairs and upstairs has cosmetics, toiletries, clothing, household cleaning supplies, and other miscellaneous items that you might need during your stay. Umbrellas, blankets, towels, sunglasses. The list goes on. They also accept various credit cards including American Express which was super convenient. Would definitely recommend, especially for any tourist staying in Paris for a longer time.

Yelp
Since our trip to Paris couldn't be spent ENTIRELY on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré (and really - if I had thousands to have spent, it would have) I had to supplemental my inner fashionista with the frugalista I've learned to become in a less than desirable economic situation. Thanks to Monoprix -- my personal Stimulus package would be satisfied! Oh, that didn't come out right did it? Monoprix could definitely be the French counterpart to our very own Target in the States... they offer a little of everything. I bought a super cute Autre Ton (a clothing line exclusive to Monoprix) tunic and thin sweater for next to nothing and have owned them now over a year and their both still in like new condition and relevant, at that! Great inexpensive shop.

Yelp
I love Monoprix. Here's why: 1. You can find cute and Made in France gifts for your family and friends back home! No need to bring back home cheap and crappy souvenirs. 2. Monoprix is a great place to stock up on groceries (but not bread nor cheese, go out and get the fresh stuff in the neighborhood bakeries and cheese shops for these items) 3. It's open later than other shops in the neighborhood 4. You basically can find everything here. Here's my list of finds: 100% French Argan oil (It makes your hair so shiny and soft) Mere Poulard cookies (Made in France) Various soaps made in France for gift giving I love you, Monoprix.

Yelp
If you want to take home a little piece of Paris, forget French Can-Can musical snow globes, I (heart) Paris t-shirts, La Tour Eiffel keychains or macarons that are unlikely to survive your trip back home. Come instead to Monoprix where you can: - Pick up a sassy tote for the beach and answer "Paris" when folks clamor to know where you got it. - Snag a couple bags of mes oursons à la guimauve (chocolate covered marshmallow bears) to take back to the office and delight your colleagues. - Buy your friend's baby a chic kid cardigan and that's sure to make you smile every time you see him in it. This location is fairly sizable and well-stocked. My only complaint? I couldn't find Nuxe Huile Prodigeuse, a body oil I love to splash on post-shower, despite an exhaustive search of the body care products area.

Yelp
If you are visiting Paris from the USA Monoprix is the closest thing you will find to Target. It's not the same but they do have tons of merchandise for you to choose from. I like the one on rue du rennes in the 6th and the one on the Champs Elysees. You can get groceries, make-up, clothes, books, toiletries, etc. Some are smaller than others but the two I listed are pretty big. The one on the Champs Elysees has a large children's book section which I love because French books are so expensive in the States and they have a good variety. If you've forgotten anything or just need to pick up a few things this is the store to do it in. Oh, there is also one on rue du poteau in the 18th which has a great selection as well, make sure to go downstairs to see the basement as there is tons of stuff down there for you to look at as well.

Yelp
Monoprix = Target in France! :) This establishment has saved me so much money and helped me live in Paris without being absolutely poor! They literally have everything from groceries to school supplies to clothes. Definitely a one-stop place to go!
google avatar

Vickie B.

Yelp
Pretty reasonable prices especially in the grocery department. But if you want a sale item, you need a card. Apparently only the French are allowed the sale prices. Too bad. I wanted more stuff but absolutely will not pay considerably above what other customers pay. They say Labello lip balm is great at $2-4 a tube. Got some. It seems like it will do the trick on chapped lips. Grandson loves the Haribo candy especially Taroga or something like that. There is Haribo candy like we got in Stockholm and like what they sell in Ikea in U.S. for about a fourth the price. I would pay a little more and get fruits, veggies, breads etc at appropriate stores. After all in Paris, every other store is a bread store

Yelp
Très bien! Great place to shop for groceries! Great prices and great selection of wines. Out of all that the markets this is definitely the best!

Yelp
Bonjour from Paris, oui! I was able to shop for clothing in the most fashionable city in the world without breaking the bank. Two pair of pants and one very sleek one bra with matching panties totaled approx. 30 Euros (U.S.D. $25.00). Monoprix have some nice clothing that made me very alluring. Upon payment this discount department store distributes store coupons to entice patrons for a return visit. As tourist my former love and I were in town for eleven days, thus sadly we were unable to utilize these coupons for the next visit.

Yelp
I heart Monoprix!! I have a feeling that this is where most Parisians come to do their one-stop shopping in a pinch. While not glamorous by any means, this is a great budget stop for anyone who anyone who wants to make a home-cooked meal. In my case, I was ecstatic to find ready-to-cook foie gras and quails in their refrigerated section. And really, their foie pates are quite decent as well - beats spending 100+ euros / kg at Grand Epicerie. Blissfully inexpensive wine selection as well.

Yelp
I'll have to basically agree with the other reviewers, Monoprix is the U.S. version of Target. I went to a couple of different ones and it's stocked with clothes, makeup, groceries, and a decent wine selection. We went here a couple of times to the deli/bakery section for their delicious sandwiches. They had a sicilian sandwich that came on fresh baked bread with huge slices of mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, spinach, and olives topped with a drizzle of EVOO. Delish! I highly recommend picking up a couple of their sandwiches and getting a bottle of wine and making yourself a picnic right by the Eiffel Tower. Also don't forget to pick up a few pain au chocolat for breakfast. It'll be one of the best things you've ever eaten and only 1 euro!

Yelp
If you're an American & looking to find a store resembling home, come here. Another yelper mentioned monoprix as the target of France & that's pretty spot on except this is better than target (blasphemy being a minneapolis native & loyal to my target boutique). I could spend hours here walking through the aisles of french foods, wines, & their clothes are even cute. It's got everything you need under one store...housewares/clothes/makeup/hygieneupstairs...food downstairs.

Yelp
This store has almost anything u desire at very fair prices. Has food department in basement and everything else you need for a household on the main floor including cosmetics shampoo etc. it is usually my first stop after the airport. Great place.

Yelp
This is a great department store and this location was handy enough just a few doors down from the hotel we stayed in. Upon arrival we went here to purchase the necessities that are cheaper to buy than pack these days like toothpaste, sunscreen, and other toiletries. They have a great selection and reasonable pricing.

Yelp
Haha, with the boutique shopping in Paris, can't resist buying clothes here as well. It is the equivalent of Target in the US, but let me tell you that it is way better and more fashionable. Especially their kids clothes are fabulous.

Pam J.

Yelp
Not all the Monoprix stores have the clothing/home goods. It's kind of like a super Target if you do! The grocery stores are great small stores. But the bigger "super" stores have such great stuff. You won't want to miss!

Yelp
Sorry to say the staff can't count change correctly, and when you call them on it, they will lie. If you want to save your money, watch out for these crooks when they hand you back your change!!!!!!

Yelp
I absolutely love this store. Everything I needed was right there. My French isn't the greatest but there were so many ppl willing to help me. I was able to purchase cognac that's not sold in the US. And the shopping carts are amazing they're so ergonomical. I wish we had carts like that in the states

J L.

Yelp
This place is everything....I was looking all over for some paella and tadahhh right here under my nose and for $8.00 you get enough for two persons. I found the coffee I wanted to send back to the USA...I found these bobbie pins for french rolls (hairstyle) that are curved so they don't pinch into my scalp. I found wonderful soap and nice pastries. All in one location. It was my last day in Paris and I had been going all over and everything was in one spot. Love this place....wish I could find out how to order online....
