The Saddest Las Vegas Restaurant Closings of 2024 | Eater Vegas

"Rob Kachelriess remembered that it "started off as something special, but was barely a shell of itself by the time the food hall closed a year after opening," signaling a promising beginning that faded before the wider neighborhood shift settled." - Janna Karel

Why is Monroe Bay Osyterette so good ?!?!?! This is our second time at this place and Monroe Bay Oysterette continues to blow our minds. If you are a seafood lover DO NOT sleep on this place !!! We had the 6 Minnie Pearls and 6 Salt Grass Osyters. They taste so fresh and clean. They are a must have if you are an Osyter lover do NOT sleep on the oysters. We also had the crab dip which is really good as well. You can taste the real shredded crabs like from a crab cake. Then we had the Mussels Frites which is an absolute heaven. This is one dish I would always get coming here. The wine taste from the broth with the fries and mussels, really bravo on so many levels and flavor it delivers. Finally the Warm Lobster roll, Hello !?!?! Have you seen the pictures of the lobster roll??? So plump and juicy, this is also a pure absolute heaven. We will be back for sure !!! <3

One word...WOW! How does this place NOT have a line around the block? Ate here on New Year's Day with the Mrs and will definitely be back. Ordered a bowl of clam chowder to start and it was excellent. Not overly heavy on a thick cream base with minimal potato and plentiful clams. Followed that with Oysters Rockefeller and again...WOW! Perfectly cooked with plump oysters and a crunchy topping. Finished off the starters with the crab dip which was a cheesy rich baked crab dip with generous crab and perfectly toasted bread chunks for dipping. The Mrs had the crawfish etoufee which she described as delicious tho a bit spicy. I had the crab sandwich. It was a perfectly cooked "crabby patty" on a delicious little toasted brioche bun. The crab meat was generous with only enough filler to hold it together. Chose the side salad over the fries for a side and it was also generous and delicious. All in all this was one of the best eat outs we've had in a long time and it's in downtown Haymarket all places. CHECK IT OUT!

It was our first time here and we ordered calamari, six oysters, tuna tartare, and the evening’s special, Cod Louisiana, which was a thick cod filet sitting atop a bowl of étouffée. It was all good, but the tuna tartare and the Cod Louisiana were phenomenal. My husband’s only critique of the cod was that it didn’t come with a cheddar biscuit or other bread to fully clean the plate with. We will be returning.

Came back into town and saw that this restaurant was located near me. Decided to stop by today for their happy hour, which is super nice because most restaurants don’t offer happy hour specials on weekends. We sat outside and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. Service was a little slow at first, which is understandable since they only had one server managing both the indoor and outdoor seating as well as the bar. Appetizers were so good. The peel-and-eat shrimp took about 30 minutes to come out, but the boom boom shrimp was absolutely delicious as well as the peel shrimp super good and buttery. The entrées came out fairly quickly, and I’m so glad I went with our server Sara’s recommendation because wow! the soft shell crab sandwich was amazing. The lobster roll was just as good and tasted incredibly fresh. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and delicious. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée. The sugar on top was a little too burnt towards the center and bitter, especially with the cherry component, but I really liked the flavor of the custard base. Totally will be returning. 9 out of 10 experience.

Our party ordered a variety of things to share & it was all fantastic! While beet & apple salad, the bangbang shrimp, & hot lobster roll were amazing, the truffle fries stole the show! The hush puppies were the best I've ever had, anywhere. Also enjoyed the taste of the ceviche, except the way it's served makes it difficult to eat, so not a fan of the presentation & won't order it again. The only other thing I'd have negative feedback on was how loud the music was, which made it difficult to carry on a conversation, but that's a minor inconvenience considering how wonderful the food was. We'll be back very soon!!

Google
Great, hidden gem of a seafood restaurant. It is a small spot but that means the food comes fast and hot, and the service is efficient. The hush puppies with honey butter are a must try. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Google
I had a great experience at this restaurant! I tried the chef’s choice oysters, smoked white fish crostini, and Baja fish tacos — all were absolutely delicious. The oysters were fresh, the crostini had a perfect smoky flavor, and the tacos were bursting with taste. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was quick, and the staff were super friendly. I also loved the convenience of being able to order anything right from the table using their QR code. Highly recommend!

Google
I highly recommend Monroe’s! Food is amazing, staff is great and the atmosphere is prefect - great for family time or date night. Every time we go in there is something new and fun on the menu. Thank you Monroe’s!

Yelp
We were a little unsure because of the price of some of the menu items. 100% worth it. The truffle fries, crab dip, fish taco... all amazing. The crab cake sandwich was unbelievable. Almost all crab. We are definitely coming back. Props to the wait staff and kitchen staff. Everything far exceeded our expectations.

Yelp
The food here is AMAZING. Great little place in Haymarket for some of the best, and freshest seafood available at a reasonable price. The crab cakes are a must-try...if you love crab, there is plenty of it on their crab cake sandwich. The vibe is casual and reminds me of the small family restaurants down by the beach. They have Po'boys too that are full of oysters or shrimp depending on your taste. We ate there one night when it was foggy and sat outside and I swear I could smell the salt water. Good beer and cocktail selection, pleasant service. Not too many tables so don't be surprised if they get filled up fast. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables. Plenty of parking.

Yelp
I got raw oysters ($3 ea) with the cape cod and salt grass oyster as well as a hot lobster roll ($28) with Parmesan truffle fries (+$3). Food came out in about 15 mins. Lobster roll was good, very buttery compared to some other restaurants but good. Lobster meat was sweet. Fries were crispy and seasoned good. I preferred the cape cod oyster over the salt grass flavor wise. The inside is quite small, but had a nice local vibe to it. They have QR code on the table in order to place an order as well as pay the bill. Unfortunately a few items were sold out so it limited the menu. Overall a good experience here! Food(50%): 8.0 Staff/service(25%): 6.5 Value(25%): 6.5 Overall: 7.3/10

Yelp
For fear of this becoming TOO popular, you owe yourself a visit. Wow--what an incredible experience! I tried a little bit of everything: the crab cake sandwich, peel-and-eat shrimp, fried scallops, hush puppies, crab dip, cold lobster roll, and fish tacos--and every single dish was AMAZING! The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked, the flavors were balanced, and you could tell everything was made with care. The crab cake was full of sweet lump crab (not filler!), the scallops were golden and tender, and that lobster roll--chilled, buttery, and just the right amount of seasoning--was perfection. Even the hush puppies were crisp on the outside and soft inside. The service was friendly and attentive, and the relaxed coastal vibe made it feel like a little getaway right in Haymarket. If you love great seafood, Monroe Bay Oysterette is an absolute must-try. I'll definitely be coming back soon!

Yelp
Great seafood. One of the best restaurants in town. Great menu. Service was good. Ambience is relaxed, casual very clean.

Yelp
We've been here twice and really enjoyed the food. It's a small place with some seating outside. You scan a code for the menu and to place your order, servers bring the food, and then you pay in the same ordering app. It's a bit weird to get used to, but it works. Items I've had and enjoyed: raw oysters, hush puppies, snow crab claws, bay scallops, and probably a few others. The food is really good. Went recently to happy hour (Tues-Fri 2-5) with GREAT prices ($1 oysters, $6 snow crab claws) and enjoyed my $6 glass of sparkling wine. Yum!

Yelp
The ambiance and the simplicity of this restaurant is my cup of tea. It has the seafood theme going on, love the music. Service was amazing! I like the QR code option of viewing the menu and also being able to order directly from the website. Now...let's talk food!! AAAAAMMMAAZZZING! The Oyster Rockefeller was perfect! Perfectly baked and seasoned. I had the Hot Lobster Roll w/truffle fries. Everything about it was just right. Being that it's served hot is already a plus for me. My husband had the Crab Cake Sandwich, with a salad..again, perfectly seasoned and not over the top where it takes away the flavor of the crab. Definitely coming back with the kids!

Yelp
I ventured out to Haymarket this past weekend just for Monroe Bay Oysterette. I'm an avid fan of seafood and especially Blue Point oysters ever since having them in Boston. My husband was away for the weekend and I want to try some of the dishes beforehand and if it lives up to the high ratings, go along with my husband later on. Sadly, it was disappointing in more ways than one. I spent almost an hour mulling over the online menu as there were so many dishes I wanted to try. It's a 20min drive from where I live to Haymarket so oysters were out of the question. I was truly excited to try the dishes and decided on: scallops over elote, truffle fries, and calamari. I messaged the chat for clarification of what's on Eugene's fries and not so shocking, I never received a response from the message box or to my email (it's 3 days later and still no response on what's on a Eugene's fries). Also fyi. The online ordering does not have all of the offerings as it would at the actual restaurant. Ie: clam chowder was not offered in online ordering. Disappointing that not everything is listed or available. I made this order online at 5pm, received confirmation, and waited a bit before driving since it was rainy. Finally reaching the restaurant, I'm greeted by Ashley and I tell her I had an online to go order. She goes to the back to check. Returning, she tells me that their online ordering system isn't working right and that they had to manually go and look for my order because they weren't notified. Now this is where the experience steadily declined and brought me to deciding to never return here again. She made no attempt at an apology and said that they don't have my order but they are working on it now. She continued and said, if I'm gonna order, to just call in. One: it's my first time coming here. To Haymarket no less. Two: how would I know if their online ordering system is on the fritz? There's no mention of it on their website or their ordering. If you prefer to have online orders be called in, why in the world have clover online ordering. Ms. Ashley basically implied it's my fault for ordering online. She didn't say sorry for the delay nor did she tell me I can sit and wait, she just disappeared to the other 4 customers in the small restaurant. Another thing, I had to wait another half hour for my order. I'm completely understanding and have patience as long as service lives up to the wait. Ashley does not live up to the low bar of expectations. If I'm required to wait longer than I have to, there should at least be some form of apology or even an offering of a glass of water while I wait. I was literally sitting in the front unattended and felt ignored as if I did something wrong because she truly made me feel that way. By the time she came out with my food, I had one last tinge of hope she would say sorry for the wait because it truly is common sense in this situation as a person working in the service industry to do the bare minimum. Alas, I should've just resigned myself to getting food near where I live than come out here and feel neglected and unappreciated. Finally home, I do feel the food was marred by the experience with Ashley. The food was underwhelming but I enjoyed the sear on the scallops and the green sauce for the calamari. I just wanted to quickly finish my meal and be rid of the experience altogether because nothing I ate was exemplary enough to go back. End note: 2024... And they're still using foam containers? No thank you.

Yelp
Last time we felt like seafood we went to Ford's instead of Monroe's. That was a mistake. Monroe is a much superior restaurant even though it is much smaller (see intimate" .... get there early to get a table. The service is good, fast, efficient, and the food with the exception of the crab claws, which were previously frozen was absolutely excellent. The peel and eat shrimp again were the best I've ever had.... Perfectly cooked, plump and large and ample seasoned but not over seasoned with Bay Seasoning.. The salads were more than just a simple nod to eat something green with your meal. They were actually really well thought out and delicious. The white fish spread on crostini was also delicious. The oysters were good but a bit too briny for my taste. The Boom Boom shrimp were worth a second tasting. But I would go back for the peel and eat shrimp alone.. And of course, the lobster roll was beyond reproach. How can you criticize perfectly cooked lobster We did not get a chance to try the crabcake, but that will be on our list when we go back next time.

Yelp
I wanted a summery seafood fix and this place went beyond my expectations! Ordered the lobster roll and fried oyster po boy, which were both delicious and generously portioned. The lobster roll especially was so fresh and delightfully buttery. Service was also attentive and the electronic ordering system is super convenient. I honestly can't rave enough about Monroe and I can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Food was great! Cute little seating area and bar. Everything came out hot and fresh. Service was quick and friendly.

Yelp
So happy that we stopped here today! This cute little place has it all! Small tables and also a bar area. We ordered four appetizers and they were all great! Can't wait to go back and try the entrees. You really get "bang for your buck" here. The seafood was fresh and tasty, the food presentation was lovely and the prices were so reasonable. A hidden gem in Haymarket!! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Service was exemplary, the food was fresh never frozen and tasted amazing, and the ability to sit outside in the gorgeous weather that we had this fall the ambiance was perfect.

Yelp
I've been here several times, especially for happy hour, and I absolutely love it. The food is consistently hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I've tried most of the menu, and my favorites are the oysters, shrimp tacos, and the irresistible Boom Boom Shrimp. The owner is kind and often checks in, which adds a personal touch. The staff is always warm and welcoming--excellent service every time!

Yelp
It's oyster season..! Everything was delicious. Cod Louisiana was perfect. The crab cake is completely worth it. The quaintness and open kitchen concept added to the experience. Going back very soon.

Yelp
Tried out this new spot for dinner to celebrate a friend. Came in later on Friday so no wait. Smaller space but easy atmosphere with a come as you are vibe which is great. Fresh and delicious looking menu that we easily ordered from Digitally at our phones (but would love if they moved off the QR code) Ordered boom boom shrimp, calamari, lobster roll, scallops on elote and their famous crab cake Sammie. I'll give them grace for being so new as the kitchen was pumping out orders slowly and in an off timing. But when the food arrived it was all delicious. Bright flavors, great portions for the price and felt authentic and true to great seafood. Calamari had a great crunch and seasoning. Lobster roll was the perfect amount of butter with huge chunks of real lobster. They didn't have the elote so they subbed in a bacon jam which I didn't love and wanted better communication for in advance bc it was pork. The crab cake sandwich stole the show and was fat and full of crab which is all people really care about lol! Overall I think when they get the wheel greased this place will excel and become quite the spot to go! I will absolutely be back and can't wait to try more off the menu.

Amy G.

Yelp
Amazing food! From presentation to taste the food, softshell crabs, oysters, lobster rolls, dip -- never disappoints! Been several times and the staff and service are always super friendly and kind! Shoutout to Maya, Amaya and Fran! Love sitting at the front bar or enjoying lunch on the patio!

Monica A.

Yelp
Very clean nice smelling location The service was so efficient and organized. You place your order at the table and can add desert or extra dishes as you go. The food was treated well with perfect flavor. So easy to make things greasy or overcooked but they do not all the dishes coming out looked fantastic. Not a huge sitting area but it was cozy not too loud

Ursula B.

Yelp
I stopped in to grab something to eat before a hair appointment and I'm glad I did. I was greeted immediately with a bottle of water and the explanation of the ordering system. Drink came out immediately and the ceviche right behind it. So tasty. I will be back.

Yelp
Monroe Bay Oysterette is the newest addition to the Old Town Haymarket, VA dining scene. It's in the space previously occupied by Ethel's NY Deli. It just opened this past week. I ordered a Crabcake sandwich with fries to go - while I was waiting - I sat at the bar and ordered the "Chef's Oyster Special" which is 3 oysters on the half shell, topped with ponzu, tobiko caviar, and micro greens, served with a lemon wedge. The dish was very tasty - but the oysters were very small. The Crabcake sammich was very good. Crab meat is pretty pricy right now - so this is not an inexpensive sandwich. The fries were hot and crispy. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside, you can sit at the bar/counter, or opt to sit at a table in the small dining area. They offer a selection of alcoholic beverages, primarily wine and beers. Paid with Apple Pay. I will be back to try out some other dishes! #MonroeBayOysterette

Yelp
This is our go to place everytime our son have a class at School of Rock! We pretty much tried everything and so far they did not disappoint... Our favorites - truffle fries, crab dip, lobster roll, and bang bang shrimp... The servers are nice and very welcoming! The restaurant is small but feels very cozy! Definitely will keep coming back! Oh and we even got their special for tonight as well! Yummy!!!

Yelp
Excellent food. Excellent service! Sara was a delight! Oysters are fresh and shucked nicely!

Yelp
Food was good, service was very slow, server forgot order and had to sit there for 50 minutes waiting on my food that was never coming. If I had known it would take so long I wouldn't have stopped by.

Yelp
This place is the real deal. We ordered the following: -Fried Oysters ( I don't even like oysters and I ate 2) money - Hush Puppies. So good I can't even. - Warm Lobster Roll for him: not a big enough portion for the large mammal but extra satisfying, I don't love lobster but I tried a piece and it was exceptional. -Scallops Elote. Maybe a small portion for some but perfect for me. Plump scallops over Mexican street corn . THEN, I ordered the key lime pie to go and the owner,Jason, lovely man, brought us his Korean dessert that's not on the menu. Don't miss out on this gem

Ricky M.

Yelp
It was so great ! Everybody was very friendly and helpful and the food was top notch . Will be back , probably multiple times so I can try everything ! Cheers

Yelp
Came here for a quick dinner with my husband on Friday night without a reservation and was pleasantly surprised. This place is located at the old Ethel's location in the shopping center in downtown Haymarket where the School of Rock is. This place is actually a part of the Eugene's restaurant group, but a seafood endeavor of theirs. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but due to the heatwave we chose to eat indoors (as there didn't appear to be any fans, etc) for the outdoor space -- we weren't expecting there to be. There was however a notable leaking fridge (?) right at the entrance. The indoor seating is very minimal -- there are a few four tops (maybe 4?) and one two seater, with a few bar seats. So if you are looking to bring a big group or children--this is likely not going to be the place for you. I wholeheartedly do not recommend attempting to bring any type of stroller or car seat, nor should you expect a high chair or booster -- this is not that establishment. Ordering is done at the table via a QR menu scanned via Toast ordering system that you enter your table number into--and pay through. The atmosphere is loud and boisterous--great for a good time out, but difficult if you're trying to carry on a meaningful conversation with someone across the table from you. There is a great selection of beers on tap and wine to go with the seafood menu (which is small but good quality). The food -- this wasn't actually our first time eating from Monroe. We'd ordered takeout from here previously and liked it enough to dine in. Dining in was a better experience -- and we were able to order certain items they are not able to serve takeout. (Just FYI -- any raw shellfish items are not available for takeout). The lobster roll was definitely the best thing we ordered -- and hands down will keep us going back. Everything served was fresh and good quality. Second favorite on the menu was the Chef's Oyster Special -- definitely a sleeper-- while it didn't seem all that special in appearance, the taste was excellent! We wished the indoor space was a little larger, but loved the menu/ordering experience. Some of the older folks (that had come in after us), seemed to have more difficulty navigating this though. So word of caution on that point. We look forward to dining there again and (hopefully) the expansion of both their menu and their space in the future.

Yelp
What a little gem! Nestled in downtown Haymarket is this humble and quaint oysterette. They have a nicely sized menu with a few beers on tap and a cooler with local adult beverages. The ordering system is a little different, you scan a QR code assigned to your seat and order using your phone. You pay using your phone as well so I'm assuming this is a cashless business? The bar itself is.. small so don't expect to fit your entire family, baby momma, baby momma's momma, your cousins etc etc. in the establishment. But I found it perfect for a 2-3 person happy hour get together or a solo date (as I enjoyed). They also have a small patio out front but we all know it's too damn hot for that rn. I ordered the following: * Shrimp ceviche tostada - the most perfect ceviche tostada with a perfect ratio of toppings to tostada. VERY fresh and tasty. * 12 dozen oysters - I was only going to get half a dozen but decided to send it and ordered another round. Blue Point and Olde Salts (small/medium size). I enjoyed the ponzu sauce topping -- a nice alternative to the regular ol' malt vinegar. * Hush puppies - Not pictured cause I ordered them to go and ate them on the way home . DO NOT SLEEP ON THESE! Easily the best hush puppies I've had, and the honey butter dipping sauce was divine Monroe Bay Oysterette is definitely worth checking out and I can't wait to try more of their menu!

Yelp
We were shopping in Gainesville and wondered over to the town of Haymarket, where we learned of this hidden gem. We ordered oysters Rockefeller, lobster rolls, and a cup of clam chowder to go. All were outstanding. My cold lobster rolls came with a side; I chose the spinach salad, which was delicious. It was served with a very tasty (I am guessing balsamic) home-made dressing. There was no shortage of lobster on the rolls. The clam chowder, which we had later, was one of the best I've had; very nicely flavored; NOT just milk with potatoes and a few clams. It's a small dining room, a long, narrow space next to the open kitchen, They could use a good ventilation system. They have outside seating. The staff is friendly and attentive. They looked like they enjoyed seeing us enjoy the food; and we did. We will make the trip from Fairfax to Haymarket for this quality seafood place.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Menu variety: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Overall experience: 5/5 A friend and I saw the menu for this new restaurant online and knew we had to try it. We stopped in for happy hour after running some errands and it was the best decision ever! I ordered a dozen oysters (I prefer the smaller blue points) and the shrimp ceviche tostada. The oysters were super clean, perfectly shucked, and had all their glorious fresh liquor in them. They were served with a mignonette that was almost like a fresh ponzu, rich with umami, and cocktail sauce. The ceviche was fresh and the shrimp were cooked well. I appreciated the balance of citrus in the ceviche with the avocado spread at the base, which added a creamy texture and made the ceviche seem more substantial. My friend ordered the crab cake sandwich and hushpuppies. The crab was so large that it didn't resemble a cake at all. It looked like someone piled a huge amount of glorious crab on top of a soft brioche bun with the prefect accompaniments, including their house made tartar sauce. (I later learned they use colossal crab for the dish- who does that?!?!) I enjoyed watching her trying to eat it as giant chunks of crab kept escaping, which is not a bad problem to have IMO. It came with phenomenal fries and an aioli for dipping. She said the hushpuppies were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and the honey butter was so good she took it home despite not having any more puppies! I had a glass (or 3) of the Granache Rose. It was perfect with my meal. It was fresh with fruit notes while being crisp and dry (not-sweet at all) We had food left over so we got to-go boxes. Just when I thought I'd just enjoyed the perfect meal, they brought a paper roll basket with a styrofoam box for the fries. And the eco-friendly box they brought for my ceviche had a piece of parchment paper in the bottom. Those small touches are not something you see everyday, even in fine dining restaurants. The food is deff fine dining quality while the establishment is not a pretentious upscale environment. I would say it is casual/ casual chic but we were completely comfortable in shorts and T-shirts at 2:30pm. They have several tables inside, a bar inside with 6 stools, and several tables out on the patio in front. They have large doors open to the patio so you don't feel separate from the restaurant and could see the tvs over the bar if you wanted to. The menu is not large but it does have something for everyone. There are several non-seafood items as well. We have already decided we are going to try the mussels and scallops on our next visit, which will be soon! They are still getting set up so there are bound to be some kinks. We didn't experience anything other than the best food, great conversation (and a few laughs) with the friendliest staff, and a happy wallet. :)

Yelp
Had lunch with my wife today. Services were great, but the food made it my day! Cold lobster roll was the best I had in a long time and butter battered cod sandwich was a top notch as well. Wonderful to see a great restaurant in the neighborhood!!!

Yelp
Nom Nom Nom...don't miss this gem tucked away in Haymarket! Super tasty, fantastic, yummy food! Love that they offer fries or salad with the meal (smart), with no upcharge. Their house salad alone was worth the trip for that roasted sesame dressing. Whitefish appetizer was delicious, fish and chips, boom boom shrimp was excellent. It's seat yourself, order by app. Good bar menu and server was top notch. Very efficient and pleasant attitude. We are so full we can barely walk! We will be back!

Yelp
My friend and I went for happy hour. So excited to get buck a shuck oysters. They were delicious. We also had the ceviche, smoked fish crostini, crab claws, Old Bay shrimp, and key lime pie. Love a good seafood extravaganza. While we stayed mostly with happy hour deals so we could try lots of menu items this visit, we can't wait to go back for lobster rolls. Reasonably priced and very friendly server. We will be back.

Yelp
An easy 5 star review from me. - My daughter and her dad met me at Monroe Bay Oysterette today for lunch. (It had more room than I thought it would, plus outside seating) We walked in and took a seat, chatted a couple min then got down to ordering. I remembered some of these reviews and knew to scan the QR to order and to pay. (Thanks Yelper friends). It was simple. We ordered the hush puppies and crab dip. It was beyond good. I loved the corn in my hush puppies and that butter mix had me eating more than I actually wanted to eat. The crab "dip" was unlike any other I've tasted before. This was Salty, cheesy, and full of flavor. Came with maybe 10 small crustinis. Felt more like crab casserole! We all agreed the hush puppies and crab dip was crazy delicious. Then the truffle fries came. They were good but I chose ketchup over the sauce that came with it. Finally, the scallop elote arrived! It was so very good. The scallops were well cooked and slightly seared, which is how they should be. They sat on a long plate of (corn) elote, pico de gallo, (Thats how I'll describe it) which tasted 100x better than it sounds on this review. I was so glad to go somewhere to eat something different. I can't even find something this good at the beach! I loved my lunch! I only wish we had a handful more of crustinis so we could finish the crab dip. Kid's dad took the last couple fries and crab dip home. If we had more crustinis, we'd have cleared that plate. 5 stars for great tasting food and for offering something different to the area.

Yelp
Great food! Service was really fast. We enjoyed the happy hour prices from 2-5pm on a Saturday. We had the cold lobster roll, shrimp po'boy and Reuben sandwich. All excellent and full of meat.

Yelp
My wife and I come here at least once a week. We love the food, drink, outdoor seating, ambiance, etc.. The staff is friendly, owner is great, just an overall great place to enjoy a bit of seafood and drinks. The food here is exceptional. We absolutely love so many dishes that are served. The lobster rolls have so much lobster it almost falls out of the sandwich (sometimes does). Love the Chesapeake Bay oysters. The outdoor seating is our favorite as the ventilation is not the best. I've read a lot of reviews about the QR code ordering. Lots of folks better not go overseas as it is very, very common. I love it. Very easy to use and I don't have to flag down a waitress to order food or drinks (even water refills are on there). I'd like to see some rotating draft beers (cans too:)) is about the only thing I'd want different here.

Yelp
The food was just ok. Mostly fried foods and the restaurant smelled like fried food. The service was just ok. It's very small and narrow. Quite expensive for what it is.

Yelp
Food was great, busy place but somehow the server kept up, and convenient ordering from the table. Will definitely return!

Yelp
Love this restaurant - over two visits we've tried the oysters, hot lobster roll, truffle fries, hush puppies, calamari, clam chowder, and fish & chips - all super fresh and exquisitely delicious. We really appreciate the cozy, intimate ambience. Also, the ability to order either directly online or with the waitress ensures you can set the pace for your dining experience. This place is an absolute gem, we will be back regularly!

Yelp
My favorite happy hour spot in Haymarket. The service is amazing and the food is fresh and tasty! The Bang Bang Shrimp are my favorite but the Fish Tacos were the stars on this visit. We will be back soon.

Yelp
My husband and I ate here last night. We ordered the crab cake and hot lobster sandwiches. They did not disappoint. Lots of fresh lump crab and beautiful lobster. We both got the Asian style side salad. Super lite and yummy . We also ate oysters which were well shucked and fresh. The hush puppies with butter were dangerously good. I could have eaten the whole basket but I needed to share. My husband was not into the scan menu bc he forgot his phone. I was good with it. The service was great and they brought a live menu for my hubby. We are excited to have a fresh seafood option in Haymarket.

Yelp
Review is based on one visit. Stumbled on this gem while in VA for a Sunday afternoon errand. We are glad we stopped in! We had two orders of the cold lobster roll -- one with fries, the other with a side green salad. Large, identifiable succulent claws inside a crispy bun, and dressed with very mild dill sauce was dreamy! Sides were not afterthoughts: Fries were crispy and well-seasoned. Green salad was well-dressed with a nice complimentary dressing. Open kitchen gave us a quick glimpse of the gentlemen preparing our food: they were happy and relaxed! All-in-all, a delightful visit at a place where the staff cared about our experience!

Yelp
I was really looking forward to coming here for Happy Hour. PRICE/SERVICE: The prices were so great and the QR ordering went seamlessly--I even liked the "service options" you could add to your order (like a request for more water, take away plates, bring share plates...very well thought out and easy to request if the staff were busy). FOOD: My food came out in good time and the ceviche was really good with the avocado layer. The portion was awesome so I hope they consistently pour it on like that every time lol. The hushpuppies were small and bite-sized, and seriously so good. The honey butter was a good complement to the hushpuppies. OYSTERS: I took off a star because I came for the $1 oysters at Happy Hour and while they were plentiful and perfectly priced, they were abysmally flavorless. The sizes were medium to large, but they lacked any sort of taste. Wasn't a huge fan of the ponzu-ish mignonette, but that's just a personal preference. If I hadn't put the cocktail sauce or lemon with Tabasco, it felt like I was chewing and swallowing a booger (graphic and why would I know that? Lol. Everyone who doesn't like oysters describe them like loogies and I tell them they haven't had good oysters). I saw their menu included Blue Points, but I'm pretty sure they didn't send those out for HH. I love love oysters and so any chance they're available for $1 each I'm going to order close to two dozen. These didn't have a briny sea flavor at all. If anything, I'd go back for the Chef's Special Oysters and hope the caviar would bring some salty flavor. Or maybe order Rockefeller? Definitely going back for the crab cake sandwich and the hushpuppies.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. Great food and service! We enjoy sitting both inside and outside. Just a great place to go in Haymarket. Happy Hour is must.

Yelp
Food was good and the waiter was nice. I wish they would close the door so the bugs wouldn't hover around + it was hot outside! Truffle Fries were awesome - the Lobster Rolls seemed to have a large portion of lobster!

Yelp
Everything went well here. This is an almost hidden gem in Haymarket. Loved it. Clam chowder and po' boy were great. $1 happy hour oysters were briny and delicious. Will definitely return and recommend.

Yelp
Food was good....Portion size and price were fairly matched. I'd recommend their house sauce be added on the side. Service interaction was kept to a minimal since you order from the table rather a waiter. Ambiance was alright.

Yelp
I'll definitely give it another try but the hot lobster roll needs tweaking. Starting with the *purpose* of lettuce on a lobster roll is to stop the butter from soaking through and turning the bun into mush. Everywhere I've been in Maine this is done with a whole leaf of lettuce placed at the bottom of the bun and then the lobster piled on top - not cut up romaine put in the bottom. Sure it makes an impressive presentation when it comes to the table - looks like the lobster is piled high. But the bun falls apart almost immediately & you're battling to keep the lobster from falling out and just getting a big mouthful of soggy bread and lettuce. Most places in Maine also give you some additional clarified butter on the side. With those tweaks it would go to 5 starts all day b/c there was a good amount of lobster, the bun was grilled nicely, the fries were super tasty & the drink selection was pretty impressive.

Yelp
Very tasty. I got it to go, next time I'll take in the ambience. Really cool local spot.
