"The proprietors of Monsieur Didot rightly call it a residence, rather than a hotel; this elegant neoclassical townhouse in the heart of Athens is more like an aristocratic pied-à-terre than anything else. And its French name is as clear a sign as any that this is no ordinary lodging; it’s inspired by, and named for, the type designer Firmin Didot." - Tablet Hotels
"An 1890’s neo-classical gem named after the Frenchman who created the first Greek font, Mr Didot is an atmospheric place to stay, giving a glimpse of fin-de-siecle Athenian life. The hotel is also apocryphally whispered to have been the secret residence of John & Yoko’s during their trip to Athens in 1969.
Its six spacious, high-ceilinged rooms, connected by corridors and spiral staircases, sport parquet floors and coloured window grills on tiny balconies just wide enough for a small chair.
This is a charming small hotel, ideal for couples or those that want to stay somewhere with individual, Athenian character. It’s also a great base for sightseeing, with the Parthenon a fifteen-minute walk, and Panepistimio metro station almost on the doorstep.

Amazing hotel!
The decoration is well thought, the room was very big but also cosy, the staff was super nice and the breakfast was a dream (also veggie / gluten free options)! Also very good location, away from the crowds :) Don’t miss out on this gem 🫶🏻

Great boutique hotel, lovely staff before and during (and after) our visit. So helpful. Beautiful building, and rooms, quirky, stylish, comfortable, unique. And lovely breakfast, little touches in the room. Location is great, we didnt find it very noisy, a little noise in a morning and late at night to be expected in a city, but slept soundly. Would definitely return.

We have a fantastic stay here! The rooms are so thoughtfully appointed and it's clear they pay attention to every detail. It was easy to walk to many of the main attractions in Athens and the breakfast was delicious.

What a fabulous surprise!
This little boutique hotel is in a quiet and rich side of Athens not far from the centre and tourist area. The room with the balcony was perfect for sunbathing and having the delicious breakfast served to your room every morning.
Attention to detail and everything you need is in the room.
Thank you to Natasha and the team for making it so perfect.
Coming back soon!

Had a delightful stay at Monsieur Didot last week. My family rented out 3 rooms on the second floor. They were each unique, luxurious, and beautifully appointed. The location is perfect for restaurants, shops, and the active nightlife in Athens. Highly recommend, and hope to visit again soon!

Had a great stay at MD in July. Great little boutique hotel that feels a little like being in a residence. We stayed 2 nights in room 1, which has an entrance to the street to a charming courtyard with a nice old woman who sells ice cream, beer, water, etc. Very convenient. This was a memorable stay and we will surely come back to MD.

High design rooms with an extremely accommodating and friendly staff. We also loved the location, perfectly placed in the middle of the city on a relatively quiet street between a crunchy artists’ neighborhood on one side and high end shopping on the other. This was our favorite hotel of our entire trip!
