Google
Came here for lunch, was surprised to see buffet option as many indian places don’t have that anymore. Was welcomed in by a friendly server and the ambience was nice, light chatter, a smaller restaurant with nice decor and overall a pleasant vibe. Food was good, though tandoori chicken was a bit dry and saag paneer was a bit too gingery. Overall, enjoyable experience, especially for a relaxing midday lunch

Google
They serve flavorful Indian food and deliver a generally good dining experience. The dishes we tried were tasty, well seasoned, and satisfying, with decent portion sizes. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is comfortable for both lunch and dinner. Service overall was smooth and welcoming. One downside was the buffet. It felt quite expensive, especially for vegetarians, since there were only a few vegetarian options available. That made it hard to justify the price. Because of this, ordering à la carte felt like a better value. Overall, a good spot for Indian food in Palm Springs, with great flavors, but the buffet could use more variety and better value, especially for vegetarian diners.

Google
Wow! We read reviews on this establishment and most were positive and a few weren’t helpful. I was most interested in the food quality, and the taste. Truly Indian food prepared by a chef who knows how to cook. Very large portions. We enjoyed the garlic naan bread, along with butter chicken. Since I read reviews one entry suggested a vegan dish called Chana Marsala ( vegan). Wow I said, really delicious. We’re going back. Treat yourself, don’t fret over the lower reviews.

Google
Worst Experience we ever had. We went Palm Springs and went this restaurant. The food is blant and too much salty. My kids eat chicken tandoori and told didn't eat half of it. They said it smell raw. I barely eat anything and so my wife. Very limited veggi options. Ironically they have so many awards in the wall. Don't waste your money here.

Google
This place is quite the gem! The service is terrific and the food is delicious! We had the veggie samosas. Flakey and tasty! Also had the tiki chicken masala. Perfectly spicy to our liking, 3 out of 10. Finally the garlic naan was perfectly baked. We recommend!

Family owned restaurants Very friendly and quick service Food was great Medium spice level was good enough if you like spicy

Google
Here you feel as if you are being treated as a host in family. The staff take and serve the orders in so nicely and smilingly that it adds to your pleasure of dining here. A true PUNJABI-INDIAN hospitality 😊🌹😊 Servings are great in quantum, taste is fantastic and service is superb. We were in Palm Springs for almost a week and would have loved to come more evening, but for a bit high prices on menu. I would recommend, all dishes go down by 3-5$ down!! More clientele will surely COMPENSATE!! BHAJI, meri salah Mann Lao,Pher awange🌹

Google
Monsoon Indian Cuisine is a small place with good, friendly service and tasty food. We were pleasantly surprised to find an Indian buffet in Palm Springs, and the food quality exceeded expectations. The buffet has a smaller selection, but everything was fresh and well prepared. Overall, a great find and we’re glad we discovered this spot.

Yelp
Found this gem of a Restaurant on Vacation. We arrived at 8:30... they close at 9 but they were warm and welcoming and did not rush us. The chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken were so good. The garlic naan was perfection, the Service was great. We will defintely come back.

Yelp
Monsoon Indian Cuisine is a Hidden Gem That Deserves More Love! I always write reviews, but this place truly deserves it. Monsoon Indian Cuisine is one of those rare spots that feeds your body and soul. The food is absolutely incredible--flavorful, fresh, and full of life. From rich, fragrant curries to perfectly spiced vegan and vegetarian dishes, it's hard to find this kind of quality and variety anywhere, let alone in the desert. Despite having earned multiple awards, they're shockingly quiet right now. I know it's off-season in Palm Springs, but this place should be packed every night. If you're plant-based or just love delicious food made with care, please support them. It's rare to find a restaurant that offers so much for vegans and vegetarians--and with such kind, attentive souls working the floor and kitchen. You can feel the love in every bite. Let's help them stay strong through the slow season. They deserve it. -- A grateful guest ! /, --, , - , , - , - , -- --

Yelp
Very nice lunch buffet for about $20 if I remember correctly. At lunch they have a somewhat steady crowd that tells me that food is turned over. Smaller selection but I find that the normal. Nice people and good food so I would come back again for buffet when in town. Have not ordered on regular menu yet.

Yelp
I honestly don't understand how this place has such great reviews. I went for their weekday lunch buffet ($20, tax included), and it was a complete disappointment. Every single dish--rice, curries, naan, and even the dessert--was stale. I'm not exaggerating. Everything tasted like it had been reheated multiple times, completely bland, and the meat was so over-reheated it had a foul taste. The buffet had just four curries--two non-vegetarian and two vegetarian--with no paneer. There was one chicken and one vegetarian appetizer, both of which were so stale and unappetizing that I literally spat them out. The desserts, including the gulab jamun and rice kheer, were just as bad--stale and completely inedible. While the staff was quick to clear plates, the tables, plates, and cutlery were dirty, which only made the experience worse.

Yelp
Stopped in for the lunch buffet. They have some of the best naan around. The chai tea was amazing too. The mixed veggies were great too. Friendly service

Yelp
This is a busy restaurant as customers kept coming and going either to eat in or to pick up to go orders. I always order my favorite dish Chicken Tikka Masala but this time with added vegetables and a heat level 7. Before the main dish we enjoyed the very hot out of the oven Vegetable Somosas with two very delicious sauces. The main dish came with steamed rice and we ordered some garlic naan which was okay. We enjoyed our meal and it was more than enough to fill us both up. The interior is decorated with some paintings depicting Indian scenes and people.

Yelp
Hands-Down the Best Indian Curry! We stumbled upon this gem during our Thanksgiving weekend trip to Palm Springs and we're so glad we did! Parking was easy to find. The food was AMAZING! We ordered the tadka dal (vegan, spice level 1), garlic naan, and shahi paneer (spicy, level 8). While the garlic naan was just okay, the tadka dal and shahi paneer stole the show. The shahi paneer was the best Indian curry I've ever had - the gravy was out of this world! Highly recommend this place for delicious Indian food. We'll definitely be back! Recommended for: Indian food lovers, families with kids, spice enthusiasts Will I return? Absolutely!

Yelp
Their food was delicious, service was a bit slow, but i would definitely go back if we are in that area again.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is authentic and very good. The service was exceptional. I went with level of spice at 3 and could/should have gone hotter. I think Indians don't believe pasty-white guys can handle the heat. lol

Yelp
SO so good. The portions were ginormous and delicious. The service was amazing. They have a lunch buffet but we did entrees because I wanted leftovers lol. 10/10 would recommend, will be back again when in the PS Area

Yelp
I've been wanting to go back to this original branch of the monsoon Indian restaurant chain for several years, and finally was able to. I had gone to the Palm Desert one several times which was just OK, but this one is definitely a step up. It's very traditional ambience, with Indian music and decorations, and a large buffet spread. I tried about 2/3 of the things, and they were all good. Service was fast and friendly. A couple things to be aware of: they charge a 3% surcharge for credit card payments, and they start breaking down the buffet line at 2:30 PM, so if you get there closer to three, you may find yourself with limited or no choices.
google avatar

Yelp
As a major foodie, I've tried a lot of Indian restaurants, and the Monsoon Indian Cuisine is one of the very best. The food is fresh, flavorful, and so delicious. I can't wait to come back to eat more of the Navaratan Korma and Mix Sabji. The family that runs the place is also incredibly nice and welcoming, and the service makes you feel right at home. I'm really happy I found this spot.

Yelp
Monsoon was outstanding on a surprisingly busy Sunday evening. Our party of four enjoyed Flying Horse brand Indian beer and red wine for openers. We ordered Lamb Josh Rogan, Butter Chicken, Curry Chicken and the Cauliflower vegetarian entree, the name of which I can never remember. Garlic naan all around. Ours was the lone server in the entire room, and she efficiently took care of every table with effortless mastery. Of course, we are long-time fans of Monsoon, but wanted to give a sincere shout-out to the chef and server who contributed to a memorable meal. Best wishes for every future success. Sincerely, Andrew Gregg, Palm Springs.

Yelp
Just amazing delicious. Very friendly real Indian food!!! Small business family owned. Chicken tika masala..... is that correct? Lol Anyways delicious!
google avatar

Tina M.

Yelp
Service was great and the food was excellent! Chicken Vindaloo (7) was absolutely perfect!

Katharina M.

Yelp
I have never had better garlic naan, anywhere. We got our food fast, everything was delicious and so flavorful (we got the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Daal Tarka). The servers were kind and didn't make unnecessary conversation. Would absolutely recommend.

Yelp
I LOVE Indian food ... I have tried Mansoon ... one time and was disappointed so I have it a second try ... just not that impressed If I want really GREAT Indian food I drive to Los Angeles .. If you have had true Indian food You know the difference!!

Tito G.

Yelp
Excellent service, the food tasted home made and would definitely go there for the buffet.

Yelp
If you love Indian food, this is the place to go. Have been enjoying the lunch buffet for years. Still fairly reasonable price but it has been getting higher due to the changing economy

Yelp
Visiting Palm Springs and didn't want Mexican food or bar food. We found this on yelp and it had pretty good reviews. We both did the lunch buffet, there were enough choices and everything was tasty. We usually prefer spicy food, but they did have hot sauce at the end of the buffet. We were definitely full and had a couple rounds of the curry. I actually truly enjoyed the dessert, the rice pudding and the other ball dessert with the rosewater was delicious. I would definitely come back even just for that. There was one server, and she was very attentive and sweet. Overall I thought it was a good value for the price in a relatively expensive town.
google avatar

Sharon W.

Yelp
Pretty sure the menu prices aren't accurate because the tab came out more for our take-out order, but the food is delicious. Unlike many other Indian restaurants, rice comes with the order (not as a side) and the portion is soooooo generous. I've only ordered take-out twice so far but saw they offer a lunch buffet that would be nice for people wanting to sample different curries without buying full orders of each. If they had more vegan options for the buffet, I would love to try it! The chana masala hits the spot. They do take a while to prepare the food, so it's best to call in orders 30 minutes in advance.

Yelp
One of a few authentic Indian cuisines in Palm Spring. The restaurant is small, next to a donut and pizza parlor, in a plaza off downtown. The interior decor is cozy. The wall of recognition and accolades got me excited as I love traditional South Indian food. I am not sure if this restaurant gears toward any regions but the food was okay. We ordered a couple appetizers and entrees. A. Mango lassi (yummy) - 5/5 B. Garlic Naan - 4/5. It's staple and well made. C. Veggie Pakora - 3/4. This was a huge disappointment. I am used to lighter batter. This version is coated with chickpea powder so it's thick and barely taste the veggies. D. Samosa- 4/5. It's good. E. Aloo Gobi - 5/5. This is a solid dish and well flavored. F. Chana Masala- 3/5. I had better and version's sauce was "watery" compared to amount of chickpeas. ***** For the two entrees, it would had been nice if the rice was more generous. We had a a good portion leftover (as the rice were eaten up).

Yelp
I was craving Indian food, so we came here for dinner one night. We were greeted and seated immediately and service was quick and friendly throughout the evening. We got waters and a complimentary serving of papadum, one of my favorites. It came with mint chutney and tamarind sauce and was tasty. I ordered their assorted veggie appetizer platter, which came with vegetable pakora, paneer pakora, samosa, and garlic cauliflower. For our entrees, I got the chicken biryani and we also ordered the chicken kadhi and beef kadhi. We got a range of spice levels and they were accurate (my 8/10 biryani was spicy but not overly so). I also got an order of garlic naan which was tasty. We requested no cilantro on one of the dishes because my mom doesn't like it (she's got the soapy gene) and unfortunately she didn't specify just for her dish, so the other two didn't have cilantro. Our fault! I love cilantro so I'm glad it was on the naan. My food tasted good reheated next day, which is always a good sign. It was more saucy than I'm used to with biryani, and didn't really have any veggies, so that was different. Overall, good food and great service!
google avatar

Ron P.

Yelp
To read the reviews on here from some of the diners makes me realize how little they know about good food, let alone good Indian food. To even use the word cuisine in the description insulting. Simply stated: this is food from a can. Nothing is prepared fresh. The Chicken Tandoori was by the worst I've had. You all can go and continue to enjoy this fine cuisine. It's not Indian food. They may use sauce from a can that states Indian flavoring but this is not good food. This was take out. The chicken tandoori was simply deep fried chicken pieces soaked in sauce. I do not recommend.

Yelp
The food here was so good. Great spot to hit up for a takeout or eat in. We had lots left over. YUM
google avatar

Emmie H.

Yelp
This was great! I had the Chicken tikka and the garlic naan. The large sides of rice are huge and the portions are generally. The chicken was nicely cooked and I loved the addition of onions. That said, I would say this place is on the pricier side and didn't feel like it was worth what I paid for it. Overall, good food and quick service. Would eat here again.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
So good, best Indian food in the desert! The buffet is a great choice for lunch. Never disappointed!

Christopher H.

Yelp
Poor food quality Water tasted like it had mold in the lines Service non existent Person in charge was on the phone most of the time Had to get up and request to pay Way over priced for what you get.

Anthony G.

Yelp
Soooo good my first time trying and you get the feeling it is a family owned restaurant when you walk in they where very welcoming and polite I had a to go order and even when I got home the food was very hot . I ordered garlic nonne chicken Tikka masala and butter chicken and my taste buds were exploding with flavor from first bite I would highly recommend and I am coming back soon! ...also I noticed they had a buffet going on with a lot of options!
google avatar

Michelle I.

Yelp
Delicious butter chicken. We come here at least once a month for lunch and it never disappoints.

Andrew G.

Yelp
Monsoon offers a wide variety of Indian cuisine. Our party recently enjoyed chicken tikka masala, mixed grill, butter chicken, and tandoori chicken. Garlic naan is recommended. I enjoy the big bottles of Indian beer, and Flying Horse was new to me. Service is friendly, and the place was packed.

Ananth ..

Yelp
Very pricey for the quality and quantity of food Delivery orders were Overpriced extra in addition to delivery fee and I am hearing it for first time

D J.

Yelp
Food is fresh and delicious! The Garlic Naan is to die for. Great service too. I like the strip mall it's in, very cute!

Nick P.

Yelp
Dinner service was outstanding. Greeted and immediately seated. Presented with fresh popadoms and a nice menu. Selected the chicken Korma and Nan bread. More than enough for one person but I was hungry! Food quality was excellent and the price was very reasonable. Will be back this evening!

Yelp
This is an average spot for Indian food in Palm Springs! Food: I love the variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options here. We ordered a non-vegetarian appetizer sampler, bhindi, dal tardka, chicken tikka masala, roti, garlic naan, butter naan, palak paneer, and finished our meal with carrot halwa and gulab jamun with kheer for dessert. The food was all tasty, but I felt that the appetizer sample was lacking in quantity. It was more onions than meat and there just wasn't enough on the plate to be shared by more than 2 people. The food came out hot which was nice and you get papad to snack on while you are waiting! The desserts were all awful and we didn't finish them. Definitely do not recommend. Price: We paid $175 for our food which seems very expensive for the quantity. There was a $20 gratuity automatically added. The prices on the menu were not accurate and showed up differently on our bill, that was very disappointing. Service: We were a group of 8 that entered around 8:45, near closing time. We were seated immediately and while we felt rushed to order quickly, there was no rush to finish our meal quickly or be rushed out of the restuarant afterwards since we were the last ones there. We went for a special occasion and they were nice enough to take a group picture for us and sing happy birthday. There is a parking lot in front of the restuarant, it's small but there's usually a few spots open. No wifi available. There are restrooms available for customers. Pretty small seating area but they can accommodate big groups by joining tables together. I've been to a lot of Indian restaurants and I'm not sure this is one I would return to based on portion size and price.
google avatar

Dee B.

Yelp
Amazing food, everything was so delicious. Not spicy and all of my kids loved it. We had the lunch buffet.
google avatar

Stanley K.

Yelp
What happened to Monsoon? The rice biriyani had chunks of cinnamon and cardamom seed pods all fried in cheap vegetable oil - almost rancid. The garlic naan was small and tasteless...and tough. This used to be a favorite when visiting the desert but alas, it is my hope that there will be some improvement.
google avatar

Leslie W.

Yelp
It has been many years since I have stopped at Monsoon. Because we had the day off to celebrate Martin Luther King, I took advantage of the opportunity to go out to lunch. I remembered that they had a lunch buffet, so I decided to return and give them a try. There were more people inside than I expected. I was told to sit wherever I liked and then told to get whatever I wanted from the buffed. (I wasn't asked if I wanted to order off the menu.) I asked for an iced tea to go with the water that was brought to the table. I grabbed a plate and was hoping to get a piece of naan, but there was none out. I got some rice, spinach, the mixed sabji, tandoor chicken, some pakora, and some chicken korma. In a small bowl, I got some daal. The spinach didn't have any flavor. I found the sabji to be salty. (That is what I remember about the food when I went previously.) The tandoori chicken was juicy and flavorful. I liked the chicken korma, which I don't normally care for. The pakora were small. I couldn't even tell what they were. They looked like little fried pickles. No real flavor. I went back a second time to get some salad, some more chicken. This time, there were some naan pieces. They tasted great and were soft. I tried some gulab jamun and liked them. I didn't see any raita, which I would have expected to see. I think I want to try ordering off the menu, on my next visit.
google avatar

Amy N.

Yelp
Ordered: paneer butter masala, raita, onion kulcha, and garlic naan. Total: $40 The paneer butter masala came with rice and tasted very good. I love paneer and would have loved a little more, but the quantity they gave was fine. The onion kulcha was OK. The garlic naan was good. The raita, however, tasted bad. It tasted like the yogurt had actually gone bad. I had to throw it away. Everything else was good and worth the cost. The ambiance was very nice and clean. The service was very kind and efficient. I would definitely go back.

Anthony S.

Yelp
We went for lunch and had the buffet. The food was rather bland for Indian cuisine and the buffet selection was pretty slim. Next time, I'll order off the menu and get exactly what I want.

James S.

Yelp
Not much of a variety offered for their lunch buffet. Food was cold. Not much flavor in the food. There weren't any utensils or bowls available. Desserts were flavorless. Went with my two young boys who were eight and nine and they told me it would be half off for them. The server tried to charge me for adult prices for my boys. I will never be returning to this restaurant.
google avatar

Toshiaki M.

Yelp
Fast time here Lunch Buffet Very Tasty food I enjoyed Service is good to We'll be back again Thank u
google avatar

Victor H.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and it was an alright experience. We had all you can eat lunch and the food tasted bland. The only good and tasteful meat was the naan: crispy, fresh, and super tasty. Everything else was kinda sitting around for quite a while, not fresh...
google avatar

victoria p.

Yelp
Growing up in NJ we used to go out for Indian food frequently and since moving to California I have been missing a quality Indian meal. We first tried Monsoon as takeout while staying at a hotel and it has quickly become a must-have every time we are in the low-desert. You can't order wrong here, everything is delicious, but our family's favorites are the palak paneer (we have to order 2 because my 5-year-old basically refuses to share!), chicken tikka masala, and the veggie korma. The naan is the best I've ever had. Highly recommend and can't wait to return!

Samlinda M.

Yelp
Just left this restaurant and we had the MOST amazing meal. Ordered the lamb vindaloo, beef kadhi, samosa, and naan bread. Everything was delightful, hot and fresh. The owners are so hospitable and courteous. Happy Singh, who served us was great..and happy. We will definitely come back here again. Thank you !

Steph B.

Yelp
Awful awful awful awful food, service and customer service. Save yourself trust me, you will 10000% percent regret coming here.
google avatar

Danny H.

Yelp
Really solid menu and food. Eaten here and ordered take out a few times. Can we a bit slow getting to take your order but the food is always great

Yelp
So looked forward to going back to this restaurant after almost 2 years, but was quite disappointed. The Malai Kofta was SO salty, the rice wasn't anything special and the naans! What happened to the naans? They tasted like they'd been cooked this morning, then warmed up. The lady assured me they were cooked fresh, but I just couldn't believe that. They were way too crunchy. Hubby's meal was good, so maybe I'm just too picky, but they are losing a couple of stars cos I am so disappointed in tonight's meal. Last time of visiting this restaurant.
