Monster Smash Burgers at My-O-My

I’ve died and gone to burger heaven. Burgers are my favorite food and I am very particular about them. I am so thrilled that I’ve found my favorite burger in Portland and it’s in my neighborhood! “House-made pickles?!” Swoon. “Brioche bun” swoon Never disappoints. The fries are absurdly good too. Service is so friendly and fast. Highly recommend.

Best fries in Portland, hands down. One bag is enough for two people unless you’re really starving. Burgers are absolute fire as well, double patties and melted cheese and pickles that bring it over the top. More outside seating now!

Always look forward to having these whenever I go to My-O-My. Best smash burgers I have ever had. Every other smash burger I have now is a disappointment in comparison! 🤤

This place HIT THE SPOT! I just wanted a crispy burger and they delivered, no frilles on it just simple and delicious. Bar they are located at is pretty cool too!

Do yourself a favor and check this place out. This is the best burger you’re going to get on the west coast. Maybe even the world? The burger is made to perfection with little extra crispies that melt in your mouth. In n Out could NEVER. As a former Californian I say this with confidence. The fries are seasoned to the Gods. One bag feeds 2 but if you’re anything like me you won’t want to share. An extra garlic aioli is a MUST. Super cute set up out back. You might even run into an adorable dog while you’re here.

So I’m not usually a burger person. These smash burgers are terrific. I am a veggie person. And the salad is also terrific!! You should go here instead of anywhere else for food. Literally the salad and the burgers are the best anywhere around. I asked my partner if she could think of a better salad we’d eaten recently. She couldn’t think of one. I couldn’t think of one.

We got the OG smash, salad and sack of fries. The burger was just what a smashburger should be. The salad was a work of art. I love roasted beets + the candied pecans are a welcome sweetness and the citrus dressing...wow! The sack of fries is literally just that. $5 is such a deal, it will feed 2-3 people and that whippy garlic sauce is amazing. Happy to have them in our neighborhood and definitely going to become a regular!

Hands down best burger AND fries in the city!! Super thin lacy smash burger with great sauce and the fries are so crispy and delicious!!! Great outdoor area to sit and relax at too.

My-O-My, we have a winner here, folks! What exactly is a "smash burger", you ask? Well, as I only recently learned myself, allow me to enlighten you: a burger that is, well...smashed during cooking. Instead of a thick patty seared on the outside, with varying levels of pinkness within, depending on your preference, a smash burger is thoroughly cooked inside and out, creating a crispy, juicy, well-browned masterpiece, often slathered in melted American cheese and grilled onions. So then, what is a "Monster Smash" burger? Two all-beef patties, Monster sauce, cheese, pickles, on a brioche bun. Big Mac, this ain't. Call it a Little Mac, if you will, and like its namesake, its delivers a flavor punch as powerful as an uppercut in Super Punch-Out!! Doc Louis and Bobby Pickett would both be proud! This particular Monster Smash food cart may permanently rest in the covered patio area around the back of My-O-My, but you can drop in just for a bag of gutbombs to go, if you're so inclined. And believe me, I am inclined! Although I wouldn't mind pairing it with another of those vodka pickletinis from the bar that compliment it so well, either! The fries we ordered to accompany it were just alright, many of them being too small, and slightly overcooked for my taste, but they were nicely seasoned, and the aioli was a nice accompaniment. The burger itself, however, was beyond, being sizeable enough to be a meal unto itself, and absolutely delicious. Reminds me of the smash burgers and sauce I make at home, but better, and requiring a lot less work! There is something about the simplicity of using a minimum of ingredients that are allowed to speak clearly for themselves, and Monster Smash's method of preparation helps to accentuate each and every component and condiment. Well done! And I don't just mean the doneness of the burger.

I love their original location, but this one is even better because I'm a big tropical cocktail fan. This location has the same delicious menu, and you can grab a seat on a large outdoor patio, and enjoy your burger and fries with a tasty cocktail or beer or cider. I'll be back soon!

Mahm and dad went out hunting and returned with a bounty of smash burgers (vegan for mahm & beef for dad) and the tiny morsels they shared with us were scrumptious. But the potato! Oh my Dog, the potato! They usually dole out one or two measly potato, but this time our pawrents each hunted their OWN potato, and they both came back with a yuuuuge bag of 'em and it was like a shork feeding frenzy! They were throwing them to us by the handful! Our only complaint is they refused to share any aioli. Rood! Our favorite place ever. 5 Paws. (Editors note: the fries are literally a bag o' fries--plenty to share!)

Absolutely love this burger - from top to bottom. Bomb as pickles and the sauce is perfect. Also the fries are the perfect texture

Good and basic smashed burgers from a food truck outside of a retro bar. Fry's were also really good. Bun was soft and tasteful. Not a huge burger as the Pattie's are smashed super thin. But very good.

Amazing burgers. My wife is vegetarian (not vegan) and orders the vegan smash (but with real cheese). It's just about the best bar food you could ask for, but we also frequently order for pickup. Oh, and an order of fries can feed two.
