Mont Cervin Palace (Zermatt, Swiss Alps) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"For the most part, one ski hotel is like any other. But Zermatt, at the foot of the Matterhorn, is not your typical resort town, and the Mont Cervin is no average alpine lodge. This 19th-century grand hotel is more elegant than many a big-city five-star, yet with the sort of relaxed atmosphere you’d expect from a classic hotel with nothing to prove." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed two nights while hiking in the area. We needed some assistance from the concierge and they were very helpful and informative. The bar had a terrific female vocalist and male guitarist on Friday and Sat nights. We had a suite overlooking the Matterhorn and it was as beautiful as you would expect. The goulash soup was outstanding as was the pork schnitzel. The burger was a bit odd so I’d select something else in the bar. The breakfast included made-to-order omelettes and a beautiful buffet. Overall a 5-star stay experience.

An absolutely extraordinary stay! From the moment we arrived in Täsch, everything was perfectly organized and incredibly comfortable. The hotel offers a breathtaking view of the Matterhorn, a unique scenery we will never forget.||||The service was impeccable, with the staff always attentive and caring. What touched us most was the way our 3-year-old child was treated like a little prince! The Kids Club is huge and perfectly designed, giving him plenty of fun while we enjoyed some peaceful moments.||||The property is also very well located and easily accessible in town, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The concierges stood out with their relevant and personalized advice, always adapted to our needs.||||And as the cherry on top, we experienced something magical: a horse-carriage tour of the town with Slawo, who was absolutely wonderful.||||A big thank you to the entire team for these unforgettable moments.

I first visited this famous hotel , the best in Zermatt in 1986 when it was owned and operated by the Seiler Family , the grand hoteliers of the Matterhorn village . They sold their hotel properties in 2011 and management rights in 2020. The hotel exudes olde world charm . The service is fabulous, as always . However , the rooms are dated . If the new owners want to ‘get with the times ‘ they need to close the hotel for maybe 2 yrs and undertake a substantial renovation costing perhaps millions of Swiss Francs. The hotel just does not have the luxurious features of say the Kulm hotel in St Moritz . These comments are intended to be helpful !

I have stayed in many hotels, but I have never felt so overwhelmed and genuinely special as I did at Mont Cervin Palace. This isn’t just about having five-star facilities, it’s about having true five-star staff. From the moment we arrived, every detail was perfect: the warm welcome with wine and treats, the complimentary soft drinks in the fridge, the way breakfast was beautifully organised, and how every staff member always greeted us with a smile and a “hello.” It’s those small touches that make such a big difference, and throughout our stay my family and I could not stop raving about the service and the atmosphere here. Everything felt effortless, warm, and truly memorable. I honestly can’t wait to come back again, especially in winter, to experience it all over again. Mont Cervin Palace is easily one of the most remarkable hotel experiences I have had and one I will never forget.

We stayed at Mont Cervin Palace for three nights. The room, facilities and location were excellent, as you can expect from a hotel in this category, but the service and attention received from the staff in all the areas was outstanding. Whether at the reception desk, the restaurants, the spa or with the shuttle drivers, they all went the extra mile to help us with any question or request and made us really feel welcome and at home. We like travelling with my family and we have visited quite a few places in the last five years. The attention we received at the Mont Cervin Palace was definitely one of the best experiences.

This hotel is right in the centre of the village and it is only a ten minute walk from the railway station. There is good space to sit indoors and outdoors, and the wifi worked well. Our room had a lot of furniture so we struggled to find space to put two suitcases. The room was also fairly dark and warm at night (even with a window open). The shower is very sophisticated with a digital temperature control. Breakfast was good with plenty of options.

We just stayed at the Mont Cervin Palace, this hotel sets the standard for a 5 star experience. The staff, amenities, location and attention to detail made our stay incredible. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

Google
Very central location, perfect for exploring Zermatt. The spa is well designed and a great place to relax after a day out. Bathrooms are spacious and nicely done, adding real comfort. The Grill Restaurant is excellent, with delicious food and a warm atmosphere. Special mention to Jean Charles Hänggi, Bruce, and Julia for their outstanding service.

Yelp
What a lovely hotel. It's expensive and the rooms were small, but the service and amenities were amazing. Loved the restaurants inside (didn't try the grill but Capri and Le Restaurant were AMAZING). The breakfast was also great (buffet with a few a la carte options). The pool and spa area were also incredible, especially the heated outdoor pool, which we spent hours in. Service was top notch - every time we called the front desk, they were immediately responsive and able to help get us whatever we needed. It's expensive but if you're willing to splurge, highly recommend!

Yelp
My family booked 2 nights with 2 rooms at this hotel. The rooms are very dark inside. The hotel was to pick us up from train station which I had confirmed several times and 1/2 hour prior to arriving. they were not there and we had to wait, then the driver they sent dropped us at wrong hotel. After arriving to hotel we had try to arrange a transfer to Gstaad and never got the email, asked and called several times about it and poor communication all around. I verbally told them no to a transfer after I arranged another company and the hotel still charged me for transfer. it's unethical to charge someone who sent multiple emails, verbally cancelled in person ect. I can cance on my cc for fraud charge however the most rude thing is that the hotel will not respond or return any call of email. JC the room manager nor Lise in concierge. Would never go back to the hotel!

Yelp
Large and centrally located hotel with several restaurants and lots of amenities. The Restaurant has a solid Swiss breakfast with lots of local meats, yoghurts, meats, cheese, fruit, etc. There are several other restaurants on the property, but the only other one I can speak to is the Grill (see my review for more on that). This is definitely one of the nicest hotels in Zermatt. Our room was a 2-bedroom suite located in the Residences section of the hotel, which felt a bit dated but similar to most ski resorts I've stayed in. The rooms got very hot at night and we needed to keep the windows open. The hotel is very big - too big in my opinion - so it certainly doesn't have a boutiquey feel. The biggest issue was how spread out everything was - it was like a maze trying to find our way around. That being said, the hotel staff was very helpful, from Boris the concierge helping us make reservations prior to our arrival, to securing lift tickets in advance and helping arrange guides at the last minute, to literally carrying our skis around for us. There is a ski room located downstairs, which conveniently provides lockers to store skis and ski equipment. The spa is fantastic and has a beautiful pool and indoor/outdoor hot tub that is delightful when it's snowing. My deep tissue massage was one of the best I've ever had. The joint sauna and steam room areas are fully nude and coed, despite having separate sections for women and nudity. When in Switzerland, do as the Swiss do I guess! I would stay here again and look forward to returning!

Yelp
This is a must stay location in Zermatt. The hotel is beautiful on the inside and out. Staff is warm and welcoming. The outside patio feature live music in late afternoon to pass the afternoon time.

Yelp
We are at our winter holiday at Mont Cervin and I am certain next time we at Zermatt we'd book the same hotel again. It is absolutely perfectly situated on the main street. The rooms spacious and bright. About the management of the hotel it works like a SWISS CLOCK. I have no idea what else one could ask for. Never stayed at other hotels at Zermatt but we would not even try.

Yelp
We stayed 2 nights here in June. The room was nice and roomy, but the hotel has no A.C. We kept the windows open all night which did help, but for the money, I want all the amenities. We are at the restaurant a couple of times. The service was extremely slow and our $70 filet was way over cooked. The manager at the restaurant seemed very overwhelmed.

Yelp
By far the number one hotel in Zermatt! Great service and super friendly staff. Very nice property and the breakfast was a very nice spread as well.
