Montalbano's

Ordered The Monte Special and it was delicious. Sandwich came loaded with fresh meats, red peppers and sharp provolone on bread with a slight crisp, and wrapped in deli paper. It was perfect. Good service, greeted when I arrived and another gentleman said hello while I waited and he helped the next person. Looked like the go to spot in this area. I'm glad I found it for lunch. The store is clean, and well stocked with plenty of dry goods and lots of prepared foods that all looked delicious too.

Montalbano's is a neighborhood gem! Family owned and operated, old-school style. Delicious food always. Catering of their specialty dishes has been exceptional for our family events, including their traditional holiday specialties. On a more regular basis, we have enjoyed many of our favorites from there including: chicken cutlets, homemade roast beef, eggplant rollatini, lasagna, rice balls, and more. Whether picking up a lunch order during work, or bringing home dinner for the family (because why cook after work, eh?!🤌😀) - your tastebuds will thank you!

If you are looking for a sandwich or Italian specialty’s this is one of the best places to go. They have fresh mozzarella, sandwiches and plenty of Pasta dishes. I got the Tony Soprano sandwich with capicola, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers and eggplant. The sandwich was perfect and the bread was excellent. The only thing the sandwich needed was some balsamic glaze.

Montalbano’s is a gem of an establishment in every sense; whether you come to buy the best Italian ingredients to cook at home, or order from their menu, what you will find is the finest. They work very hard and it shows. Father Cosmo, who hails from Calabria (like my gram, who owned an Italian bar in the West Roxbury section of Boston) and his handsome son, Vinny, have a loyal clientele. I consider myself to have been very lucky to have been among them. Hats off to them and their team, among them Jay. They have treated me with such kindness over the years…The hero’s they made for my movers are nothing short of spectacular and they smell delicious.

Montalbano's has been a favorite place of mine for years to order lunch from on the North shore of S.I. I think they are one of the very best italian delis on the North shore as well. They offer hot and cold sandwiches on various types of bread, including italian bread, panini bread, rolls and wraps. They also sell various types of store made soup, pasta dishes and everything in between. They also offer cold cuts and various kinds of cheese and cured italian sausages. Service is not always very friendly and prices can be a little on the high side.

I enjoy going into Montalbano‘s. It’s family oriented, Italian atmosphere Cosmo‘s wifeLorraine is very sweet. Always willing to help you Cosmo.is Great when I went in there and it wasn’t busy, he told me a little bit about Italy and I enjoyed the talk with him. It’s a great place to get awesome food for a great price. I enjoy buying grilled chicken wraps in there roast beef Panini Yum you have to try it

If you haven't been here you better make it priority to do so .the food is amazing there hot and cold food top notch. me I love there homemade fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers and a light spread of mayo sorry I ate all my sandwitch before picture so good

Vinny and Frank help me every year for a family party. The food is always amazing❤️Awesome shrimp scampi and chicken rollitini. The family raves over the food and they deliver to me which is so convenient.

Great selection of foods for very reasonable prices. Meats, cheeses, freshly prepared salads--there is something for everyone here. The antipasti is fantastic. I bought a medium container of it and it didn't last 24 hours! Next time I'm going for the large. I wish I lived closer to here so I could get my fix without having to hop in my car and drive. Ahhh well.

Last great Italian deli standing! A gem! All is fresh here come and get some great great food

I ordered a sandwich at lunchtime for delivery. The order was taken correctly as the receipt stated, Turkey, roast beef, pepper Jack cheese, lettuce and Mayo. I was disappointed when the sandwich had no cheese. I called politely to let them know they'd forgotten the cheese and I assured them I wasn't looking for another sandwich, just wanted to let them know, so the next time we order from them to please make sure it's right. ( I work at Ps 13, and have been ordering for years). I was told they'll call me back. Ok? Didn't really need a call back. About two minutes later, the owner calls me back, tells me I'm wrong , he made the sandwich. Seriously, like I'm going to lie about cheese? There food is. Not bad but it looses points with they're tasteless customer service, and pompous attitudes. Mr. Schwartz

This review is solely on my experience today...I come here often for their daily lunch special. Sadly today I ordered the big Greek salad with grilled chicken, they didn't put the chicken and did not rinse the lettuce. I kept tasting something grainy and sure enough it was dirt. My coworker ordered the panini of the day and had a better experience. The panini'big enough for two to share. 3/6/20 I continue to go back for the lunch specials and I stick to paninis and wraps.

Fresh food and a lot of care put into the sandwiches. Packaged well. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Will be back!

I mean how can you go wrong with their lunch specials? $7.95, a hero, salad, wrap, entree....whatever you choose comes w a potato croquette or mini rice ball n a soda. It's always fresh and delicious and there's always an updated menu posted daily w like 7,8,9 options to choose from. They're always friendly, it's always ready on time. I only wish they'd heat up the rice ball or potato, n I've asked but it's not enough to make me stop ordering! Plus we've had catering for court functions and everything is always delivered on time and is delicious.

Everything I have ever order has been excellent. From catered sandwiches to steak to side salads, I have never been disappointed Cosmo,Mike, and Vinny are some of the nicest people you'll meet walking into a business establishment and they treat every person that walks in like family. They have a meat apraxia that is perfect for family's offering three options at $49,$69, and $99 offering a spread of butcher and deli meat for a family of various sizes. I've been coming here for years and I haven't been disappointed once!

I had the misfortune of ordering from a person that appears to own the place. Asked for a basic Italian hero with mozzarella , oil / vinegar , lettuce. 1/2lb of olives 1/2lb of mushroom salad Half way thru the order he picks up the phone. Comes back I again said "lettuce , oil/ vinegar with mozzarella. He replied "yeah I got it ". Ok. I got a hero with missing cold cuts, no lettuce no oil / vinegar and no mozzarella. .91 of olives .87 of mushroom. Apparently he just doesn't care and gives you whatever. 29 bucks.

Only been there once but they made me a very nice chicken cutlet with roasted peppers and fresh mozzarella. Very nice, very nice. I'll be back.

We have used Montalbanos for multiple catering occasions for the last 10 years. We have ordered the 6ft hero's and salads. We usually order antipasto and cheese platters during the holidays. We have also used them to cater hot dinners and breakfast/brunch options. Everything was delivered on time and setup for us. Vinny is always helpful and will work within your budget. The food is made fresh and our guest always ask where we catered the food from. Some of our favorites are the chicken rollatini, eggplant parm, pasta primavera orecchiette with broccoli rabe, sausage and peppers, and the lasagna. Cosmo makes great heroes when we stop in during the week for a quick bite. This is our go to family pork store.

Update, I recently went back after 2 years and I'm blown away. The store was packed. neatly organized, fresh food everywhere. I ordered my go-to chicken cutlet w/ muzz hero It was ultra fresh with 1/2" of cheese on it. very helpful people working there.. I bought a bunch of stuff, gave the ravs a shot, they were delicious. I love this place again .

I'm giving this place 3 stars because the food is good. However for the price the portions are small. When ordering from the lunch specials they are not consistent one day your salad will be loaded with everything it's supposed to come with the next time you get it much less and missing everything the salad is supposed to come with. Not to mention they always forget the dressing you ask for or the drink that comes with your lunch lunch special.

Great food but older man with white hair that helped me was very rude almost made me want to leave the store while waiting. Will literally not come back here to be treated nasty as a paying customer

This is by far the best place in the area for take-out lunch or dinner. They have amazing food, and even sell some groceries.

I used Montalbanos a lot when I lived in the neighborhood so I thought I'd order an antipasto platter from them, for a get together. I had a Groupon which the man on the phone said could not used because they didn't keep good records and have no way of knowing if it had been used already. Since I only paid $15. for it, I placed the order anyway. We were very disappointed in the cold antipasto platter. It was supposed to be for 8 to 10 people but it was very small. The meats and cheeses were hard and stale. I would not recommend Montalbanos Salumeria.

Been going for over 12 years it's a family business and it shows. The food and prices are great as is the service. The store is very clean and find that important in a food market. They remember there customers and know what you usually order. Highly recommended.

Went to the Rossville location. Total incompetence, I ask for roasted peppers they give me sun dried tomatoes and all the oil they are sitting in, I ask for provolone stuffed olives they give me garlic. Than made it seem like it was my fucking fault when I went to go get it fixed. Needless to say I will not go back. If Little Italy Gourmet was closer I would be there every day, pure professionalism from A-Z.

It's been a while since I've been in there, We'r talking years. Walked in today for a lunch special, a vegetable wrap. The wrap it self was delicious except it was smaller and less filled as they used to be. It came with a rice ball and a small side on macaroni salad. Now years ago the macaroni salad was awesome (actually a small reason I went back today). But today it was not good, it tasted like the ordinary, mass produced macaroni salad you can get anywhere. That was a disappointment. 7.95$ with a can of soda or water. I'm probably good from now on.

I love Mantalbanos Salumeria! Their staff is friendly and their stores are well stocked with Italian specialties and goodies. They're great for catering a party or a gathering with their professionalism and beautiful trays. The daily lunch menus and specials are always a treat to order from with creations for each day of the week. Montalbanos is definitely a bright spot on Staten Island.

Authentic Italian store. The owner is from southern Italian and he is extremely friendly. They have everything you could need or want. The food is always fresh. This is one of my favorite Italian Deli's on Staten Island.

Had them cater a graduation party yesterday for 70+ people at the Historic Richmondtown Court House (2nd floor no elevator). The food was EXCELLENT. I had guests from Long Island to NJ raving about the food & service. The waiter staff was definitely worth it. They set everything up, served the guests, walked around cleaning-up, helping the children with their plates and at the end of the night cleaned-up the place spotless. They went above & beyond what I had expected. The antipasto & fruit platters looked like works of art. I would really like to thank Vinny at Montalbanos for helping my wife & I with the menu selections. When you go to their store you are treated like family. Definitely the only place that my family & friends will cater from.
