More like a hopping downtown bar than your basic craft brewery, but with tasty beer selection and excellent staff (Sage was just awesome) despite the swarms of patrons. Food is okay, there is a separate restaurant seating area. Hazy was crisp and refreshing, IPA nicely earthy, and Oktoberfest great toasty malt. Bustling and busy, but fun. And great option for downtown overnight stay.

Great little spot on the strip. We are visiting from out of state so the hostess gave awesome recommendations (the elk burger, and the French dip). Their French dip was excellent and the Elk burger was really tasty. *The pizza was not good, would definitely skip that. We had a couple bites and let the We didnt check out the inside just the patio but it was spacious, not too loud despite being pretty busy. We had no issue hearing our own table conversations.

The food here is wonderful!! Great atmosphere, and the bar tender/ server was awesome 👌 We had an Elk burger and a Bison burger and super yummy. The house made beers were very good too

For food, we ordered the nachos and I got an elk burger. My server was very accommodating given my lactose intolerance and had the cheese separated on the nachos. The burger itself was decent. I'd never eaten elk before and didn't realize how lean it is.

We had such a fantastic experience at Montana Brewing Company, and a big part of that was thanks to Mariya, our bartender. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. She let us try a couple of different beers before we made our choices, which we really appreciated. Her recommendations were spot-on—especially the enchilada bites. We never would’ve thought to order them, but they were absolutely amazing. Crispy, flavorful, and totally unique. We also ordered the huckleberry elk burger, and wow—it did not disappoint. The combination of flavors was unlike anything we’ve had before, and it really captured the local Montana vibe. Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly, and came out quickly despite the place being pretty busy. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and you could tell the staff really cared about making sure everyone had a good time. If we weren’t just visiting, this would definitely be one of our regular go-to spots. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area—and if you’re lucky, Mariya will be behind the bar to make your experience even better!

It was a lovely night with the lights, prompt service, and live music that wasn’t too loud. What a heavenly experience overall. Lyndsey did an amazing excellent job and the general manager was extremely pleasant with wonderful personality. Thank you for a great Thursday evening!

We had a wonderful time at Montana Brewing Company, enjoying the great atmosphere and delicious food. The serving staff was very attentive and answered all of our questions. The menu offered a variety of excellent options, and our food was served quickly and hot.

Not a bad spot to meet up with friends, share a meal, and a few beverages! Came by for dinner and ordered the chicken enchiladas. Had really good green chiles and was loaded with cheese and all the fixings. A great value for just $14! Great selection of beer and other drinks as well. I ate at the bar and the staff was all very friendly. Huge menu for a big group, something for everyone. Would definitely come back.

Just passing through decide to stop in for a beer and some food and I am definitely happy I did. The girls were super friendly and attentive. Love the dive bar feel. Food was excellent. Strawberry Wheat beer hit the spot on a HOT Montana day.

Downtown Billings is a vibe! And this restaurant fits right in! The staff is very friendly and helpful with the menu. The enchilada bites are the best! Lots of good items on the menu. Something for everyone.

We stopped in here on our way to Devill's Tower in WY. We drove from WA State, and we were excited to try some great brews and other food. This place did not disappoint! The Strawberry IPA was interesting, but also yummy. I'm so glad I tried it. I loved the enchilada bites! My kiddos had the chicken strip and the steak rice bowl. The hubs loves his Philly cheese steak, sandwiches, and he had no complaints. Great atmosphere as the live at 5 was just beginning!

Place is fine. As a brew pub there isn't much expected from the menu; but you'd think generally solid food. I had the Mac and cheese with chicken. Not a great choice. Totally missed. Kraft Mac and Cheese has more cheese flavor than what was served here. Seriously. So bland! And the chicken tenders were over fried so the batter was rock hard. But the bartender was totally disinterested in much of anything. Oh well. 2 stars.

Worst bison burger I've ever had. It was like a hard hockey puck. Fries tasted like the grease hasn't been Changed in a long time.

The beer was good. The wings were fine. And the fries were okay. Service was spot on. And the overall atmosphere was great.

I went to Montana Brewing Company on a recent trip through Billings and Southern Montana. I made sure to make a stop at Montana Brewing Company. This brewery is located right downtown and it's all metered out with the parking. But the meters were not charging people parking on the day I went due to an election day. Not too sure if it was intended to be on a Saturday or was a carryover from Friday but it was appreciated nonetheless. I got into the brewery in the somewhat bustling downtown and was really only in the mood for a snack, of the healthier sort so I got myself a nice, green salad to enjoy and it was good. Fresh and crisp... just the snack I was looking for. Then I went on the more indulgent side of myself and got one of their beers, the Fat Belly Amber is what I got and it was good and refreshing! I do love a good amber sometimes and this one was certainly worthy! Flavors with this particular beer that are featured with it are malty, caramel, dry and sweet. The beer is nice and smooth as well and that is always a plus for me!

I mean the food was VERY mid. I got guacamole on my cheeseburger and it looked like it was squeezed out of a plastic bag. Then the patty didn't really have much flavor and was perfectly round which lead me to believe that it wasn't fresh. The service was decent, not their fault the food was subpar and the patio outside was cool.

Brisket Mac n cheese and good beer. Montana beer good choices and great location. I would recommend and also come back.

Went there twice while in Billings. The food l, atmosphere, and service were great. The pretzel was great! All of the specialty drinks looked amazing as well. Service was fast the first night even though they were packed. The second time service was slow but our waiter seemed to be new.

Was sitting in the outdoor seating area when a hornet flew into my drink and died. I asked the server for another beverage, which she said she would get right away. Upon return, she stated her manager would not give me a new drink and I would need to pay for another if I didn't want to drink the one that the hornet died in. That's horrible customer service and you all can do better, MBC.

First time there had the Montana dip. Was amazing, second time I ordered the same thing and my 6 year old could have made it better. I've only been there twice so a 50/50 call for me

Had a quick bite and a drink to celebrate my hubbies birthday. We ordered the pretzel to share. It was good, the cheese tasted like gas station nacho cheese from a condiment pump. Mustard was OK but probably bottled. Both advertised as beer cheese and "homemade" special mustards Beer was OK as well, we are spoiled in Washington state. Hard to compare our IPA beers to other breweries not in the PNW. Service was great. They were quick and helpful. Nice and big outdoor sitting and indoor as well.

We stopped in Billings on a vacation trip. The food and drinks were quite good, and the portions were generous. We each had a half size salad, and those were still pretty large. Service was excellent, ambience was very good for a bistro pub context. Recommended for anyone looking for a good meal in Billings.

Came in around 2pm on a weekday. sat at bar. workers running around, but not one of them had the time to look me in the eye and greet me. Finally get a few samples. Meh. I usually want to order a beer, but this place was just not doing it for me. As i was leaving, a server suddenly seemed interested in me, so that earns you a second star.

The food was great. I had the Montana pub which had a double portion of thick cut ground beef. My dad got the elk burger with brisket. There was live music. Good outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating. Bar area is small and they don't have many TVs so not the best spot to watch a sports game. No domestic beers on top. All craft. Bartender was friendly but she wouldn't serve me more than two beers for some reason?

I worked down at the hospital for almost a decade, and I've been coming here at least once a week, the food is always good and I enjoy chatting with the servers, especially and Melisa. She does a great job.

Was ignored to be seated by several staff members. Usually eye contact or hello someone will be right with you...nah. Bison burger was small for the cost. Undercooked and maybe spoiled. Threw it up at 230 in the am. The nachos were a joke. Not sure what comes on them since it was all cooked off waiting to be served. $25 total since tiny little plastic cups of gas station pump cheese and canned jalapeños cost extra. Would have been nice to know.

Some of that salad was clearly fresh out of the bag. Fine, it's a brewpub. It was the old, putrid, decomposing bits mixed in that kept me from finishing it. Around an hour later, our main dishes arrived. That was after the manager had come over to apologize. And. And! Also after our (very inexperienced) waitress came over to us and said that our food was ready, but they needed to find someone to bring it out to us! Seriously??? Was anything comped? No. A lame-ass, very insincere apology was all we got for our two hours. What a, well, lame-ass experience all around.

Great lunch! Quick and courteous service on a weekday. Loved all of the options on the menu. We went with a salad and a gyro and both were tasty. There's a bit of cigarette smoke in the air from I think next door, but otherwise a good visit.

First off Chelsey was great! She was training a new person who also was great. The bar has. Nice vibe to it. Plenty of room with TV's around d if that's what your looking for. We are here for one night and wanted to try this place. It did not disappoint. The food is great. I had a steak salad and my husband had a Montana French dip. If ever in the area, make sure to stop by!

I'm in Billings, MT for work. Montana Brewing Company is just up the street so I decided to stop by. This place is downtown Billings so parking is pretty much street parking and it can be hard to find a spot close to the brewery. The bar counter and high top tables were seat yourself. I sat at a high top near the bar and had really great service. I got the Chicken Enchilada and it tasted pretty good, no complaints but it really did feel like a bit of a throwback to an earlier more innocent time. Much of Billings seems like a throwback so it was consistent in that sense. I had a couple of the house beers and I liked them. I don't really consider them outstanding but they were well made and I enjoyed them. Service was very good. The atmosphere was decent. Prices were also better than expected. I wouldn't hesitate to stop in again.

Good old standby in Billings. 30 years and still going strong. Great food and good beers- thanks for being such a reliably good place to eat and hang out. I had lunch there today with my dad. We sat in the dining room and Pam was our server. Pam is AMAZING- she has such a kindness and welcoming attitude. She freely wears a wonderful smile and is a great asset to MBC. I met one of my friends here for the first time. The service was great; our waitress was really helpful and nice. The food was average at best, though. The beer was also just average, with low abv for most of the beers. Also, the bathroom was closed, so we had to walk through another restaurant to get to the bathroom. I bought a growler with the case, and I love the look of it. It's sitting pretty on my shelf! Overall, a nice place to visit for a chill vibe with friends.

First downtown Billings is stuffed with interesting places to dine and shop. MBC was recommended by another traveler at a gas station 200 miles away. Had to try it. So the stranger had it right. Creative menu for food and drink. Someone here knows their stuff. The gyro meat was very thinly sliced, moist and flavorful. Pita was terrific. Had chicken corn chowder as a side. Gotta try and make that at home. Won't be as good though. We also had the keto Mac and cheese. Not at all my thing but I was told how great it was. I'll trust that. Our server did a great job and the atmosphere was just asking for a good night out. Locals or travelers will both enjoy MBC. Check it out.

I have only spent 2 non-consecutive days in Billings, and I went here twice! We love drinking local while visiting new places, and that's the emphasis here. Friday evening, dinner: We were lucky to snag the last table in the "seat yourself" bar area- this place was busy, busy. Our server was quick- we had our drinks within minutes. She was knowledgeable as well- she gave us great menu recommendations. I chose the Brisket Mac-n-Cheese, and followed her suggestion to add Bleu Cheese Crumbles. Delicious! There were 4 of us having dinner and drinks; my companions all enjoyed burgers and local beer, with great service and very reasonable prices. Monday afternoon, drinks & appetizers: We sat at the bar, this time it was with just a small late-lunch crowd. The bartender was very friendly, made great martinis with local spirits, and knew the menu. We went with artichoke dip that was accompanied by veggies and a delicious flat bread, and shared enchilada bites, which was a pretty big appetizer (our bartender said it is 2 chicken enchiladas, cut into pieces!) so definitely perfect for sharing. I am sure Billings has many fantastic choices, but you can't go wrong with this pick.

The food has gone down at this place. We ordered open faced turkey sandwich and the red rooster. Both were disgusting and we told the waitress, and she was sorry but didn't do anything about it. Also, there was some fundraiser going on at Holligans and it spilled over to the Brew pub and there were high school boys walking around trying to get money from people that were eating. This used to be our go to place but it's slowly going downhill.

Walked here but looked like it had street parking. Service was great. Get the mac and cheese. I got the southern one and it was so good! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and not dry at all. I also got the dirty girl. If you like root beer you'll like this drink so good. I'd come back if I'm in the area again.

I love this place when i go! but i doordashed my favorite mac and cheese and it was $18 for a SMALLLL portion. very upsetting

Excellent brew pub in downtown Billings. I rolled in from out of town on a lazy Monday night, crowd was very light. Had the fish and chips, food service was very quick, food arrived in less than 15 minutes. Everything was hot and quite tasty. Didn't have an adult beverage due to work commitments, but the waitresses we very attentive and pleasant with great recommendations. Next time around we will try the brisket Mac and cheese. If you are staying at the Northern Hotel it is a short walk down the street. During the summer months the outdoor seating is great. Good food and drinks for reasonable prices. Give it a try.

While on vacation in Billings, we were looking for a place to meet some family members out for dinner and while looking through Yelp, this place kept coming up as being popular and having good reviews so we decided to give it a try. We kinda just showed up without a reservation or anything and they were able to seat all 8 of us without issue and without waiting too long. Keep in mind the place was packed and it was a Saturday evening. The atmosphere was a bit loud but then again it is a brewery/sports bar so it was expected. One cool thing was that they had a separate part of the restaurant segregated out for more family-type tables in the back away from the bar and all of the commotion. The menu had plenty of options even for our pickier eaters and compared to California, the prices were very reasonable. The best part is that Yelp gave me 10% off upon checking-in which was a nice added bonus. The food we ordered all came out pretty quick and was very tasty. I had a delicious grilled tuna sandwich, and the rest of my table ordered the full gamut of the menu. We didn't have any complaints and service was pretty great too. If I ever visit Billings again (not likely) I will definitely make an effort to visit this place again!

Our experience here was mixed. Pros: we walked right in on a busy Friday night. The atmosphere was clean and upbeat. My husband got a pizza and it was really good. Cons: Unfortunately, I think the majority of our issues stemmed from our server. The poutine was probably really good before it sat waiting for our server to figure out where he was. I saw it sit there for over 10 minutes. Once we got it, it had a rubbery texture and the curds were completely melted. The bun on my burger was soggy and just plain gross at that point. Again, it just sat there. My son had the classic mac n cheese, which was completely flavorless. Which is so weird since they have 4-5 mac n cheeses on the menu. You'd think they would be good to have a full section on the menu. Lastly,our server was really hard to get his attention for re fills on drinks. You couldn't just make eye contact. We had to resort to waiving him over and we waited so long to get his attention in every other way before we had to resort to what I view as rude, the wave over.

Sorry..forgot to take photo. Beautiful warm eve, 7:30ish Hubby & I chose the sidewalk patio area. Huckleberry Moscow Mules were delicious..not too sweet. I had brisket beef salad, he had bbq brisket San with side cup of delicious thick chicken rice soup. All food was prepared just right & tasty. Phoebe was our server & she was tops...very welcoming, attentive & personable. Music was a bit loud for our older ears for conversation & some tall greenery along the edging would improve the outdoor ambience & cut street distraction, but overall it was a satisfying summer supper.. thanks to Phoebe's excellent service.. Reasonably priced for the quality of food..

Just had a great time at this fine establishment a couple days ago. I don't usually write reviews... but when I do... This place rocks! Great brews! I recommend the lighter one, can't remember what it was called... "Whitetail"? I got me some yummy in my tummy fish tacos, and a delicious pork sandwich! Great meal, great price. The service was fabulous. Sat at the bar, and never did I have to wait or call for service. Those two guys rocked. And one guy, looked 37, but was really 42, ageless wonder! So when in billings, this is the place. Check it out, have a beer, eat some food, and enjoy your time in this fun, down to earth city

The food is always 100% I've been here 3-4 times and everything i tried was amazing The service is fast and friendly. Downtown billings at its best!

MBC is brewery #161 for me and this place is happening. MBC is located in the downtown area and has a big patio area in front which was closed when we arrived. The inside is quite large and was busy! we were surprised how busy it was on a Sunday evening. The flights are big with 8 beers brought out on a tray. I always appreciate a tasting menu also so I know for sure what style they were going for. Some places just write a generic name and expect you to know what it is. Sandbagger Golden ale was very light and would be good for those who prefer the mainstream beers. Whitetail Wheat had the expected fruity note with a little, very little, bite at the end. The fruit wheat beer was billed as being strawberry. SWPFTD and I both thought there was a little note of blueberry. That said this was not a good fruit beer. It left a taste on the palate which I did not enjoy. The Fatbelly amber was ok but the flavor fell flat at the end. SWPFTD and I both thought we got a little smoky flavor out of it. Skypoint IPA is a bit of a palate killer and I have to be honest in that I have always thought cascade hops smell and taste like dirty sweat socks. No comments about whether I have eaten socks. Not a bad beer necessarily just not my favorite and the hops are part of it. The hazy IPA had a lot of pine. Again, I did not enjoy this beer. The blackberry saison did have a fruity note but not sure I would pick out blackberry until maybe the very end. Meh. Last chance here, the Kilt Buster Scottish ale. I love Scottish ales. This one is a winner. This had good color and also had good flavor throughout. It's not often I don't order a pint after a flight but until I tried this one I wasn't going to. For me the beers ranged from "no" to "meh" until I tried the Scottish ale. Not the best one I've ever had but I enjoyed it and didn't leave beer in the taster. Now my focus is always the beer in a review of a brewery. I mean, it's a brewery. That said the food was quite good. I went with the Montana dip sandwich. We also had the fish and chips and the fish was solid. Not as in texture just as in it was really good. I stopped here last weekend to grab a late lunch with a friend. The food was excellent as well as the recommended beer. The place had an old-school pub kinda vibe. Decent pub food to boot. The rub came with the bill. While the bill was $53.25, I added an $8 tip. However, when the credit card statement showed up, I noticed they gave themselves a $40 tip. I called and was told that I would receive a $32 refund. I look again. It was run as a new charge. So now, I'm out additional funds. If you pay with credit card, hold onto your receipt and make sure you're not overcharged.
