Best Restaurants in the Hamptons

"Whether its pizzas with ricotta, blue cheese, and caramelized onions, to El Diablo with tomato, arrabbiata and honey; burgers; or a bone-in veal chop, there is more than just food at this rustic spot with live music and lots of outdoor space." - Beth Landman

Where does one even start? I will start with a positive, the food was great and restaurant was very nice. The chaos of the service and management was a nightmare. We had an 8pm reservation, we were sat at 8:20pm (NBD) and then was told our party of 8 had to hit our minimum spend of $1600 by 9pm (LOL). It felt as we were in a food eating contest. They were such a mess. They were bringing out apps, entrees, AND dessert ALL at the same time. Mass CHAOS. I ordered seltzer and the waitress handed me an alcoholic drink to which I asked twice if this was alcohol and she confirmed it was seltzer, until I took a sip! They told us they could not bring entrees out at same time so they'd roll them out. They informed us we had only a few more minutes to eat before we had to get up because the next table had arrived (we still did not have all our entrees at this point). That is when the manager came over and offered to drop our minimum spend if we just finished up quickly.. (we were only $120 off from reaching it.. so that was a joke). Finally the owner came over and asked us to move tables (this was now our THIRD table move in the evening) and that he would take 50% off the bill. We moved, 3 people from the group had the same entree and the servers had no clue whose was whose. It was just a complete mess for a place that requires a minimum spend nonetheless. Food was good, atmosphere was good, management and servers.. not good.

Had a huge group of about 20 for dinner last night and despite it being one of the busiest nights of the year, the service was amazing! Our servers were so friendly and the cocktails and food were delicious. I’ll definitely be back for the ‘red flag’ cocktail, whipped ricotta , meatballs, and the burger!

A a nice balance of food, good music, good looking people. Got the calamari at the bar, it had actually comfortable seats, the wooden bar had a nice finish. The place turned into a club but didn’t have annoying music, it was still chill. Got to meet one of my favorite artists Anderson Pak, it was fire, Would come again, way more chill than other spots in MTK

The place itself was beautiful. Big bar and lots of places to lounge by really pretty fire pits. They had live music too which was nice but the music didn’t match anything about the ascetic. The food individually, was…okay but the menu in general has no cohesion or flow. It feels disjointed. It was the first menu I picked up in a while where nothing caught my attention. Our cocktails were good and the best thing out of our experience. Our server was friendly and nice. They were really busy and had her stretched thin so we waited a bit for some things but that wasn’t her fault.

Impeccable service, ambience and food. We were met with nothing but the kindest hospitality upon entry throughout our dinner. The restaurant provides an ultimate luxurious laidback Hamptons vibe everyone is seeking out, but in the most authentic way possible. You cannot go wrong with any cocktail or dish on their menu. The chef, Jesse is seriously one of a kind and truly unmatched.

Went here for a couple of drinks on the final day of the Montauk Music Festival, we did not eat. The place looks beautiful, but the bar experience was awful. We ordered 3 Paloma’s and proceeded to watch the bartender start on quite a journey to make this simple cocktail. He started splashing random juice and more tequila at the end to fill glasses. The drink was so sweet that two of us couldn’t drink it. When I asked what the sweet ingredient was, he told me Cointreau. I also bartend and let him know that Cointreau or triple sec is not an ingredient in the classic cocktail, and he argued with me instead saying “that’s how we make it here”. He also let me know there is no lime juice in the cocktail so that’s when I realized he really had absolutely no idea what he was doing. When I ordered a glass of wine instead, the pour was so small, I would guess around 3 ounces. At this point we just wanted to leave, when I asked for the check, the Paloma’s were on the check as “Polamas” and we were charged $24 a pop. He then let us know he would remove a glass of wine instead. We didn’t eat so I can’t review that, but I would never go back, not even for how pretty the place looks. For reference-the glass on the right was the wine that my friend ordered and had been drinking for a while now, mine is the untouched “full pour” on the left.

This place is just okay. Weird local artists that aren’t very good perform here. The fried artichoke was good but the bread was weirdly plated. Bartenders were attentive and good drinks but limited selection. You’re paying for ambience mostly.

The best place in Montauk all the vibes are here. Staff is amazing. DJ is amazing. And the manager is the best! He kept checked in on us several times. Being a Montauk native this is one of the best places to come to!

Yelp
Shady shady shady. I signed for my bill and left both copies of the receipt- dinner was $351.94 and I left a 25% tip bringing the total to $432.94. I don't want to specifically blame the server, but someone took the bottom copy of the receipt and changed the tip amount to 200%, bringing my "total" to $1055.82 (see receipt and CC charge below) As much as I wish I could leave tips like this, I can't, and the service at Montauk Project certainly would not warrant it. Management is impossible to get ahold of to resolve and shared the fraudulent receipt with Amex as "proof" that I left this tip. Please avoid at all costs and if you do go, triple check your statement to make sure this doesn't happen to you.

Yelp
So bad! What a bunch of absolute losers at the door. For it claiming to be the new 'it' place ...IT was far from it. From the moment we walked up to the door the staff was incredibly rude to the people waiting in line. They held the line up on purpose and were turning away certain people from their crews based on looks. They even turned one girl down and made her go back out. Then asking for 1500$ tables. They were also racist only letting in a certain look over others. I will leave it at that. Don't waste your money ...it's so mid here. After literally partying everywhere Ibiza,Miami,NYC...this place is so mid. When your paying that much your experience should be nothing but stellar. These staff needs to realize their staff. I will never ever come back here. The drinks were not that great. No music We went there last night and the staff at the door was incredibly rude.

Yelp
Went after surf on a Sunday, front door staff seemed confused but okay we had no reservation but ate in the lounge area and had no wait. Food was fine bar food drinks were mid. Around 10 the venue flipped over for night life. "lounge vibes" were sad, good Music but no vibe or lights or dancing. Lots of head bopping and standing around. Bottle came out with no lights nothing special. Security at the front after was RUDE, and unprofessional. They force held a line while the venue was at MAYBEA MIDA capacity lots of empty tables and room. We left and went to the point way more fun!

Yelp
Not sure if I would call this place a "restaurant". Went there during Tri weekend Friday 7pm and should have realized when we were the only table there ...all evening! No food, no wine, no explanation!?! Great looking venue but needs adult ownership. Zero stars and clue.

Yelp
This is a beautiful location to stop by for well crafted drinks and food. The staff is incredible and so friendly, and the interior of the establishment is by far one of the best decorated restaurants around. Definitely a must to stop by when you're in Montauk

Yelp
Had such a great experience! My server Jenna was amazing, she recommended the fried chicken sandwich and it was delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Yelp
I came here to go out last night and the staff was HORRIBLE and mean. the cocktail servers were all immature girls who were likely just over 21 and new to the hospitality industry. they had NO hospitality. I went to the bathroom and had wrapped up my leftovers and kindly asked the staff if they could hold my leftovers. they told me it was possible to keep my leftovers behind the bar. when I returned from the bathroom, my drink and leftovers were thrown away. having just paid $50 for a pizza that I took 2 bites out of, I was very annoyed. as I was talking to the server and the bartender, another server asked me in a rude way to move because I was blocking the bar. when the pizza came out, I personally went over to the bartender to give him my pizza to keep in the refrigerato. a second late, the same server got in my face and was like "I ALREADY TOLLD YOU TO MOVE" I tried explaining that I was only here to hand the bartender the leftovers and she is very good at her job because I was only standing here for a second. but then she had security escort me out. I will be disputing my credit card charge and will NEVER come back here

Yelp
I had such a great time over Fourth of July weekend at the MTK Project. It was so good, we had to go back twice. The vibes are great. Delicious food -- especially the El Diablo pizza and snow crab legs. Shout out to Jesse the chef. Highly recommend for a night out.

Yelp
The appearance of the place is perfect but the cocktails, especially the espresso Martini is too bad I tried it and definitely I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. The drink was propanol, too disgusting
