The 14 Best Restaurants In Vail - Vail - The Infatuation

"Montauk has been a constant in Lionshead Village since 1987, with excellent seafood like ahi tuna tacos and miso Chilean sea bass beckoning shivering patrons for generations. The highlight is undoubtedly the raw bar menu, specifically the seafood tower, stacked with East and West Coast oysters, Alaskan king crab legs, and Maine lobster tail. If you’re going there with that one friend who always whines about how much they hate seafood, rest easy. Montauk does delicious meatier options, too, like a black angus New York strip steak and filet mignon." - kim fuller

You would think at this price point that the staff would be knowledgeable about food allergies and accommodations but as I found out last night, that’s not the case. I have celiac disease and informed our waiter before ordering. His responses and cavalier attitude should’ve been the first red flag. Unfortunately I believed what he said and ordered an entree and desert. I have been awake on and off all night being violently ill. The meal was 100% not gluten free as he claimed. I should mention that I’m typically pretty asymptomatic if it’s a smaller amount of gluten - I have never been this sick from eating at a restaurant. If you have celiac or a gluten intolerance, stay far away from this place!! Don’t let them ruin your vacation too! Also I think it’s very telling that the restaurant made no attempt to follow up with me about my experience or respond to this review. They got their $400 and I got permanent intestinal scarring without so much as an apology. Stay as far away from this place as humanely possible!

Awesome seafood menu! Oysters flown in from West Coast. So no blue Points! Lol. Outstanding salmon, Seabass, king, crab legs! Come hungry. It's worth it! Great location, patio seating or alfresco by the window. Really nice!

Google
Fantastic quality. The best seafood chowder I have ever had. Service is wonderful. Jade truly had the best recommendations and each course was timed perfectly. I waited for nothing. My favorite stop in Vail.

Nice seafood restaurant in Vail. Good and service were good. The chef is very influenced by Asian flavors. I was surprised not to see any local fish on the menu.

Google
In all my many visits to Vail, somehow we had never eaten here until our last trip. It's by far one of the best restaurants in Vail! Seafood is fresh and service was excellent. All of the dishes were flavorful and we were really pleased. The interior could use a little freshening up. It feels kinda old school but we were also the youngest people dining in the restaurant so it's probably catered more for an older crowd.

Google
We had an excellent dinner on Thursday with 4 people.everything was on point. Must try the mussels and an order off bread to dip into the delicious sauce . The lobster tail add on was HUGE and buttery! The steaks were cooked perfectly. Our server was so attentive..I wish I remembered their name to give props! We will be back!

Google
Unfortunately, our experience last night was just okay. We enjoyed our appetizer and cocktails, and my boyfriend’s sea bass was great, but my halibut was quite fishy with very dense mashed potatoes on the side. The service just wasn’t very good at all. We waited quite a while to have our drink order taken, and we were never asked about how our food was. For what we paid, this was definitely a disappointing night out, and we won’t go back.

Google
Had an amazing experience here for our anniversary. The food was delicious, the drinks were so good, and the service provided by Dominic (Dom) was amazing. He was super knowledgeable about the menu and how everything is prepared. 1st class service. The fish could not have been fresher unless it was still in the ocean swimming around. Definitely a must go to restaurant.

Yelp
Montauk seafood grill has been on my list of dining destinations to check out while in Vail for some time and it was worth the wait. As a pescatarian I'm excited to have an upscale quality seafood restaurant conveniently located in Lions head Village. My partner and I came for a romantic dinner on a snowy Thursday evening in March. The ambience is bright but cozy, with appropriately themed art work decorating the space. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. We started with the crab salad appetizer which had abundant crab and a delicious sauce for dipping. We also had the basket of sourdough which was perfectly crusty and warm. For our entrees we split the Ahi Tuna - their signature dish for a reason. It was perfectly seared and so tender it melted in your mouth, served over a crispy rice cake and julienne vegetables. We also split the swordfish which I thought was just ok. It was very tender hut lacked the meaty steak-like texture I prefer for swordfish. We did not save room for desert but the selections looked delicious. I will be back to check them out next time. Overall, great dining experience if you are looking for a special evening!

Yelp
Casual ambiance and good service. The food delicious and fresh. The menu had many interesting dishes but I ended up with clam chowder soup and miso sea bass. Both were great dishes.

Yelp
Food and service didn't deliver unfortunately. We were seated in bar party of 6, only regular seating in bar... it was empty in there otherwise. Service was mediocre and food just ok. We are here for a month and have been twice and really wanted to like it. Not worth the money.

Yelp
Had high hopes based on good reviews but our experience fell short. For starters, we were the only people in the restaurant, yet it took 10 minutes for someone to come over and pour us water. After another long wait, we ordered appetizers. The carpaccio did not come with bread, and was just a plate of sliced meat. When we asked for bread, they told us the sourdough was $9 and would have to be baked for 3 minutes. Fast forward 10 minutes, and it finally comes out while our meat sat on the table. Dinner took almost 35 minutes to come out, despite my 3 person party only ordering steak and pan seared fish. Dinner was plated like it was out of a cafeteria. Very unprofessional for a $70 filet mignon which surrounded by spooned on sides. I ordered medium rare, and when I cut inside there was no pink. Fortunately, it was a high quality cut of beef, but for that amount of money. The dessert menu looked disappointing. Took another 10 minutes for our waitress to bring the check. Won't be returning ever.

Yelp
We visited Vail for a wedding and took the time to carefully review which restaurants to try. Montauk really stood out. Yes, Montauk in Vail! Don't miss this place. We started with the gazpacho and the wedge salad, followed by the salmon, lobster tail, and an addition of Dungeness crab. The sourdough bread was amazing. The only critique was the sides; the sticky rice and mashed potatoes were just okay. I would definitely come back here again. Ricky, our waiter, provided excellent service.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner and found everything to be very good. We had the lobster tail, a NY strip (slightly tough), and a trio of sorbet for dessert. The lobster tail was excellent. The service was fine. I thought the prices were a bit high, but overall the meal was pretty good, and I'd go back again.

Yelp
Great experience! Server, Rick, was super awesome! Attentive, professional and knew his seafood - especially the oysters! Food was excellent and we eat seafood all over the US. Oysters & Dungeness crab were fresh. Dungeness crab, sea bass and sword fish were all PERFECTLY cooked. I had a coconut drink, my daughter had the blood moon and my husband wanted a Stella but they didn't have any so he had a Colorado house draft paired perfectly with his crab. Sat by a door but we weren't cold at all. Warmly lit and large windows allowed outside Christmas lighting in. Hostess was also attentive. Happy holidays!

Yelp
I got to try some ahi, and ordered a simple salmon plate with the sesame garlic sticky rice & some veggies. The dishes are huge & you could easily share. The specialty salmon dish was also tasty. Everything was cooked well. The lime cheesecake is also worth ordering.

Yelp
Great seafood spot on a mountain! I tried the grill, you can pick your protein and sides. Worked well for me since I don't like things too saucy. The service is excellent. Seafood is fresh and sides were delicious! The vibe is super chill.

Yelp
My wife and I went here during the Vail Beaver Creek restaurant week. I've wanted to come here for a long time because I love seafood. We started with the Restaurant Week special which was 6 oysters on the half shell with a glass of champagne. Our waiter Brian was very helpful when I asked about the four different oyster types they had. I went with his recommendations and was not disappointed. I don't remember what the types were but I was happy as a cl...oyster. For my entree, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and it was cooked perfectly. It had a nice crystal in it and the fish was SO good. My wife got a dish of sweet potato and apple as well as a small salad. Everything was very good. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and super attentive. He had great recommendations and was fun to chat with too. We had a great experience and would definitely go back. The prices are what you would expect from a high end seafood restaurant in Vail.

Yelp
When I was scrolling open table for places to eat at in vail on our trip this place came highly recommended and kept popping up. I hesitated to make reservations at first. We were next door and the bartender actually talked us to going for dinner. We went in off season so they were pretty empty. We ordered the oysters (raw) my fiancé had shrimp and I had a delicious steak topped with crab meat. I will say we were too impressed with the sides that were offered. I feel like they were lacking. However the main courses were absolutely delicious. If you come here plan to get the oysters. Honestly they were my favorite part of the meal. Very upscale restaurant.

Yelp
Food was quite tasty (my expectations for seafood in the Rockies was not high) and the service pleasant. None of the dishes were exceptional, but solid. The sprouts could have been roasted a bit longer, though my seared tuna was quite good. That said, extremely expensive for the quality. 45-60 for entrees, that after tasting the Sea Bass and tuna I feel confident in saying are good, not great. Still, a nice night out if you're in the mood for seafood.

Yelp
Something of a disappointment tonight. The halibut was decent and nicely sized, but the accompaniment was a fairly unpleasant salad of older lettuce and some chopped vegies - not as described on the menu. We wondered where the starter bread course was, and she said they'd discontinued it, but we could order a side of sourdough bread which we did. Unhappily the bread arrived after the entree was served, so we declined accepting it. Sue's three scallops were seared properly and pleasant but she did finish the same salad I did not enjoy. A simple bottle of German Pinot Blanc wine was expensive as expected. For the $200+ we spent, I have to say this is another of the one and dones we've experienced eating out lately. Will not return again.

Yelp
Dinner reservation at 8:15 day of for 8 adults, 3 toddlers: Menu on yelp, the website, and others were out of date. Current menu attached. Service took forever. We had most of our order planned out due making the reservation prior, but the whole service took 2 hours. Drinks and appetizers came at a reasonable time, but the main course took over an hour. Food itself was mediocre and incredibly varied. Fried shrimp for the kids were passable, and the East Coast oysters were probably the best part of the dinner. For the entrees, our table got 2 miso sea bass, 1 filet, 2 ny strip, 1 herb crusted-halibut, 1 scallops, and 1 of the straight grilled sea bass (pictured) The chef special items were tasty. The grilled sea bass was overly seasoned and one of the new york strips was incredibly bland. For how pricy the meal was, the consistency was awful. The sides were pretty decent, but the sticky rice was literally just garlic seasoned Asian rice.

Yelp
Fabulous! Service and food! A great place for us to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday! Thank you Montauk and Jade for making our evening wonderful!

Yelp
Montauk is dining experience you'll want to try when visiting Lionshead Village adjacent to Vail Village. It's been there for over 30 years and is one of the few places that you can enjoy fresh seafood in Lionshead. It's centrally located in Lionshead Village with great cocktails and wine to accompany its fresh food. Montauk has a fun atmosphere as it feels like you're near the ocean although you're landlocked and tucked into the Rockies of Colorado. For being a seafood grill there is plenty on the menu for everybody, even those who don't enjoy seafood. I was eating with family and we started with cocktails. I had "The Monk's Last Word" and it was done well. My girlfriend and I started with splitting the baby green salad with winter fruit and the artisan sourdough bread. I ordered the black angus filet mignon and she ordered the pan seared Chilean sea bass. They both were delicious. For dessert we had the trio of sorbets and the key lime cheesecake. Everything was good and the presentation of the food was fun and lively. The service wasn't so attentive but it didn't matter because of the good company. It's on the expensive side but on par for Vail. This is a comfortable yet classy place without trying too hard. If you want a good seafood restaurant in Lionshead Vail without feeling out of place, you'll want to give Montauk Seafood Grill a try.

Yelp
A huge fan of Montauk Seafood Grill! While staying at The Hythe in Vail, Co. I had to find something for dinner each night as the village somewhat closes down in October just before the ski season rush. After the first night at Montauk, I knew I'd return again before leaving town! The first night I had their Filet, Whipped Potatoes, Bacon Brussels, and a cup of their Clam Chowder! The clam chowder was spot on and very fresh tasting. The filet was one of the better ones that I've had in some time! Cooked exactly as ordered, and coupled with their house made potatoes and Brussel sprouts, this was an awesome entree!! Returning again before leaving town, I had to get their Scallops & Grits! Grits are not created equal, but these are right out of the Deep South! The scallops are large and fried perfectly golden brown. The entree is very rich, but it is well worth the experience! BTW, don't cheat yourself out of experiencing the Sand Pie!

Yelp
The Chief's Chilean Sea Bass . Excellent Lobster Scallops over pasta.. Excellent.. Great Experience

Yelp
Great place for seafood, service was intermittent but they were training new staff. We sat outside by the flowers and it was relaxing. It is pricey however.
google avatar

Yelp
TLDR: Service is excellent, but food is on the pricier side. That said, prices are comparable to most fine dining restaurants in Vail. The Pork Chop is excellent, but as the restaurant is known for their seafood, I would highly recommends trying the Ahi Tuna Tacos. ... The Ahi Tuna Tacos were delicious (featured in the pictures below). Although the portion size was small - only two miniature tacos - the taco was not only crispy but the flavors fit so well together. For the entrees, we ordered the Swordfish with two sides, the Pork Chop, and the NY Strip Steak. The Pork Chop was excellent and the serving size was just right, leaning towards too large. The NY Strip Steak was alright - not as juicy and tender as I expected and the hash browns were slightly too salty. The Swordfish was delicious and flavorful. Overall, service was excellent - our waiter was very accommodating with our requests and took the time to explain the menu to us.

Yelp
Perfect ambiance and meal in Lionshead. Our waitstaff was so friendly. Love how much seafood variety the menu has, wow! Had the halibut for my main, which was amazing. My husband shared a cowboy ribeye with King crab legs--excellent again! Can't wait to come back when in the Vail area!
google avatar

Allen Y.

Yelp
Very classic steak and seafood restaurant. Their menus change a lot so pictures in yelp are not representative of their current menu. The canadian mussels had a rich sauce which goes well with bread although the mussels themselves could have used more time cooking as a few mussels were closed and some had a raw unseasoned flavor They know how to cool steak so you cant go wrong with either the filet mignon or the ribeye. The portion size is definitely filling so come hungry!

Yelp
Being that it was two days before Christmas in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic I was a bit hesitant to venture out to eat. (My assumption was that because of the upcoming holiday, and due to being reduced capacity -- only 20% -- that perhaps service and quality could be lacking.) I could not have been more wrong! The hosts were masked, gracious, and constantly cleaning the entryway doors. Our server Adam was attentive and made some great recommendations. To drink we enjoyed their "Monhattan" and glasses of prosecco. For our meals we had two varieties of east coast oysters, miso glazed sea scallops, the filet with a crab cake on the side, and the sand pie for dessert. Everything was delicious, prepared to perfection, and was really one of the most pleasant dining experiences I've had in a long time. (That's not just the quarantine talking either!) If we get back to Vail, I'd make it a point to eat there again!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food usually never fails. Some of the vegetables with the bass were undercooked and inedible. Calamari was greasy but the pesto grilled cheese is perfect. Had to ask the drunk table next to us to be quieter bc they were over served.

Yelp
I came to Montauk with family after a day of skiing, and safe to say we were starving. This place did not disappoint. Although we were late for our reservation we were sat immediately, which was much appreciated. The atmosphere is low light and noise, and can be romantic if that's what you are looking for. Everyone in our party thought the food was amazing. Tuna tacos - raw tuna with a tomato herb topping. Absolutely delicious. The tuna wasn't tough, was the perfect texture. Alaskan king crab meal - the crab meat was fantastic. They split the legs so it was very easy to get out. The Brussels sprouts were fine, I personally prefer them a little more well done but the seasoning was good. The mashed potatoes were creamy and garlicky. Sand pie - this was an amazing dessert. Doused in caramel and chocolate, this had a Graham cracker crust and vanilla chocolate chip ice cream, which had a smooth creamy texture. Definitely coming back here next time I'm in town. This place is a must!

Yelp
While visiting Vail, we were walking around Lions head village while checking out Octoberfest and stumbled upon Montauk. After checking out their posted menu, the wife and I decided we needed to give this place a shot because let's be honest, good seafood in Colorado is scarce. My wife made us reservations for Sunday evening @6:15. We arrived on time and were immediately seated and greeted by our waitress who was pleasant. We did not get any starters or drinks, just quickly ordered our meals. I have been wanting to try halibut for some time and after seeing it on the menu, I figured now was the time. I'm a sucker for king crab legs, so being able to add them Ala carte, well that was a no-brainer!. My wife ordered grilled scallops with Brussel sprouts and butternut squash. Since I have never had halibut, I have nothing to compare it to. It was pretty good, but not remarkable. I feel like it needed a sauce. I was a little disappointed in the lack of side options. I went with whipped potatoes and soy rice. The star of the show was definitely the crab legs. They were fantastic! I had one of my wife's scallops and they were really good. I'm not typically a fan of sprouts, but they were decent. All-in-all, Montauk is a solid seafood restaurant and I'll be back
google avatar

Yuki I.

Yelp
Long story short, good food but bad service. We had a dinner reservation but arrived 15 mins early, so we sat at the bar and got some drinks while we waited for our table. I got the spicy senorita with the Don Julio tequila substitute. Very delicious, loved the kick! Once we were seated, we ordered all of our dishes at once, from wine to entrees. We wanted a bottle of Artemis cabernet, but they were out of it, so we got the Pride mountain vineyards cabernet. For appetizers, we got a half-dozen oysters, New England clam chowder (Tender Atlantic Littleneck Clams, Cream, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Fresh Herbs), and heirloom beet & citrus salad (Ricotta, Grapefruit, Toasted Pistachios, Oranges, Micro Greens, Citrus-Shallot Vinaigrette). Loved the oysters. The chowder was pretty dang good - we wished they'd split it for us into two small bowls, but we made do. The beet and citrus salad was IMPECCABLE. And they split this for us into two dishes, so that was very nice. Loved the combination of beets with the sweet ricotta cheese and that tangy sweetness of grapefruit pieces! Now, this is where we felt service went downhill. We waited over 30 minutes for our entrees to come out, and our waitress did not check in with us at all during that time. We eventually had to flag down another waiter and ask him to check on our dishes. 5 minutes later, our entrees were out. No acknowledgement from our waitress regarding the wait time... So we were a little displeased with that part. For entrees, we got the braised black angus short rib (Soy-Ginger Glaze, Toasted Garlic & Sesame Sticky Rice, Pickled Red Cabbage With Serrano Chiles, Pan Jus Reduction) with 3 giant white prawns on the side, and pan blackened sea scallops (Sweet Corn Buttermilk Whipped Potatoes, Maine Lobster & Garlic Pan Sauce, Micro Arugula In Lemon Vinaigrette). The short rib went very well with the rice. And definitely enjoyed those prawns! The scallops are very large - 3 pieces total, and very salty! We couldn't finish them. However, they are done to the perfect temperature/texture. Good meal and good company, but could improve service.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant for a special occasion. Food is superb. And so is the service. Went there on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner. No complains from us at all except it is very expensive and loud inside. We had some of the most delicious seafood and steak ever. Everything was done to perfection. Even the fillet mignon was a party in your mouth. I don't know how they did their mash potatoes, but it was really good. They even gave us a free birthday dessert. Almost like a mud pie - again, really good. Will definitely be back again for another special occasion.

Yelp
Came in for a anniversary dinner. With our 2 kids. They do have a kids menu so thats a plus. We started off with1/2 dz oysters in the halfshell and 10g of Caviar. which were absolutely great! as for entrées, my wife and son both ordered the 8oz filet and shared a lobster tail. It looked, they didnt let me try it. Myself the scallops with risotto, which I enjoyed. See pictures below. Definitely a must visit place when in Vail.

Yelp
Shocking that some of my best seafood meals are here - so far from any ocean. But it's solid!
google avatar

Yelp
Delish!! We could not decide what to get on their menu because it all looked so amazing. All their seafood is fresh. Luckily, our server helped us choose - he was very helpful in describing the dishes and steering us in the right direction. Two of us got the pork chop Milanese which was incredible and one of us got the scallops which were also amazing. This was an upscale atmosphere but there were still folks coming in after skiing with ski clothes on so it still felt casual and welcoming.
google avatar

Amber L.

Yelp
All the seafoods are fresh! Good service! Nice environment! Need an appointment! Good cocktails, refresh the day after all skiing!

Yelp
My local friend recommended this place, so we celebrated my birthday here on a Monday night. They're social distancing, but the place was still pretty full. Had reservations for 8:15PM, got there @ 7:15PM and they were able to accommodate us! Favorites/What We Ordered: + Bone-in Ribeye w/ 2 sides (spinach/mashed potatoes) 5/5 + Oysters, 5/5 After paying double the price @ The Fitz for awful steak, we were a bit concerned. Luckily, Montauk was half the price and 100% better than The Fitz. Played by Yelp. Eugh. Had enough left over to eat the next day. Soooo good! A perfect medium rare, unlike some other place. Recommend snagging reservations a day or two before!

Yelp
This was an amazing meal. EVERYTHING was fresh & well-prepared. We were there on opening night for the season. We had the tower and as much fun eating it as exploring all of its flavors & variety. Service was professional ... Side note: we had to ask our wait staff-in-training to allow us to finish our appetizers before serving the tower; we didn't want to be rushed. Birthday dinner:-) ABSOLUTELY recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
"You can't eat a whole pound of crab," he said. That's the closest thing I've heard to a dare in a long time... so I had to try. You are correct if your initial reaction to the idea of consuming an entire pound of Dungeness crab, complete with butter, potatoes and vegetables is a little gross. Blame it on Coronavirus or stress, but I've definitely gained some weight over the last 6 months. But I digress. I ordered the crab and I ate most of it. With some help. And some oysters. And had a few glasses of wine as well. Montauk Seafood Grill is a fancy(ish) place to get your seafood fix, in my case a whole pound of crab. They take reservations for indoor seating or first come, first served for the outdoor patio. Pro tip: Arrive early (before 6:30) and you can get on that patio waitlist pretty easy, even on a Saturday night. If you're not interested in weighing your food before consuming it, they have plenty of other options, including east and west coast oysters and a giant ribeye dish for two. Me, I like my crab and I'm not ashamed to say it.

Yelp
Surprised I haven't reviewed it previously as it's high on SBN's approved Vail eateries - over the last few years, it's gotten outrageously loud, the food is a bit on autopilot, and the prices, while normal for a mountain town, are a bit much. If you're trying to eat at peak time, not recommended to go with companions you care abt hearing, as the roar is akin to a LAX tarmac - vibe is cozy if a bit dowdy - a facelift to brighten it wouldn't hurt - for starters, treat yourself to the sourdough - it's chewy, yeasty deliciousness - otherwise, I am partial to a wedge salad, though the mussels, and pretty much anything from the raw bar will do the job. Mains are tired - there has to be another take on seared tuna aside from pairing it with a rice cake and some wasabi - pan roasted sea bass is as buttery as expected, but for $57, nothing thrilling. I usually go for the grill with two sides - a salmon sometimes, others a scallop, or a seared yellowtail. The sides are kind of just slopped on the plate and clearly prepared hours ago. I'm happiest at dessert - the sandpie (chocolate ice cream, graham cracker, sin) - but again, will it blow your mind? Maybe if it was 2003. Service is friendly and perfunctory. Make a res at least 10 days in advance during season. Salads/starters - $16-195 (seafood tower), mains $41-125. Din for four with drinks, dessert will be $400ish. There isn't a ton of new food Vail/Lionshead - Montauk is sliding into a "meh, I guess" from an old stanby.

Yelp
Visited Montauk this evening with my parents and loved it!! We started with cocktails which were made very well (my mom raves about their dirty martinis) and the Manhattan is delicious! Excellent selection of oysters, we tried some of each. I don't eat mignonette with my oysters but dipped a spoon in it and Montauk's is delicious! I highly recommend the clam chowder!! My parents each had the wedge salad and it was fine, but a wedge is a wedge. One of the specials this evening was grouper; my husband and dad ordered that with rice and the broccolini and that was very good, though my mom and I preferred our dinners. We ordered the herb-crusted halibut... it was heavenly!! I didn't 100% care for the dressing on the greens that come with that dish, but next time will just ask for something different because greens were a nice offset to the halibut and potatoes. The beurre blanc was some of the best I've had! For dessert we ordered the sorbet trio and it was more than enough for the 4 of us after such a nice meal!! Service was incredible and we would absolutely come back for another special occasion! (Lacking the 5th star because the wine list is a little nutty. Most of the wine offerings are priced outrageously for what they are, even for a restaurant.)

Our new favorite place in Vail. Service, food, ambiance were all great. Being from SW Kansas we don't have much of a chance for great seafood, but Montauk hit the spot. Oyster shooters, caviar, salmon, and even the filet was great.

Yelp
Food was ok, filet mignon was over cooked.. overall I felt this restaurant was overhyped. Not worth the price

Yelp
We were visiting Vail & a friend recommended this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday. Based on the online menu, we decided to give it a try. OMG! What a disappointment. Extremely disappointed with the food: the steak was rough & fatty, the scallops were tasteless, undercooked on 1 side & burnt on the other end, the grits (better yet, imitation grits) was soggy & lacked taste. The only good thing we had was the chocolate desert. Ambiance: loud music not suitable for dinner, carpet needs to be cleaned. Actually the patio is more upscale than the interior. the artwork, oh pls., upgrade it. The service was ok. Suggestions: 1. hire a high end chef who can actually cook. 2. Offer the meals showing on your online menu or, change the online menu to actually show what you offer.

Yelp
Service staff were top notch and took great care of us. Food was excellent and the mussels were out of this world! Highly recommend and we will be back!!!!

Yelp
This restaurant deserves 4+ stars if the execution had been there. Server was Mirielle and she just couldn't make it happen. Very disconnected throughout the meal. Had a bottle a wine with dinner and she never came and topped off our glasses. I took care out that throughout the meal. When the meal was over she removed the bottle and chiller and never even looked to see if it was gone. Handed us menus with no explanation of dishes. Learned about the entrees by eavesdropping on other tables and their servers. My wife's steak came out extremely rare (ordered medium rare). Server took it back and hostess actually came and apologized, brought it back and checked to make sure everything was good. The food overall was delicious and we would go back, as this was our second time there... Just hope next time we get one of the other servers.

Yelp
Booked reservations for dinner for New Years Eve. When we arrived, we were seated fairly quickly. The server Shannon immediately came to our table to greet us and provide us with menus. We asked about their bourbon selection, and we had the bartender come over and let us know their selection. The drinks came out quickly, and my whiskey sour was delicious. The perfect amount of sour! We ordered the lump crab cocktail, oysters, and the tuna tartar for appetizers. Everything was delicious. The tartare came with capers, dijon, Calvisius black caviar, crème fraîche, and a garlic toasted baguette. For our main course, I ordered the special they had that night that was the cowboy ribeye, and my bf ordered the Alaskan King Crab. The portions were good, and everything tasted impeccable. The ribeye was cooked as desired, and the seasoning on it was great. For reference, the king crab dish comes with buttermilk whipped potatoes, roasted baby squashes & heirloom cherry tomatoes as sides. Overall, this is a nice restaurant to stop in for dinner. The service and the food are good. I would recommend it.

Yelp
Went here for the first time with a group of 5. Some people in our party had been here many times before, most recently several years ago. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the memories from years past. The establishment is nice inside, although definitely has a fishy smell but it is a seafood establishment so seems warranted. Their menu has entrees, grilled items which are basically the same as entrees, and a La carte options. The prices are quite high and for what you get, it's quite disappointing. We ordered several dishes to share with the table but were informed that the dishes aren't really meant to share. Still we pressed ahead and ordered 2 ahi tuna entrees, a scallops dish, and some sides. The ahi tuna itself was delicious, but the rest of the dish was uninspiring. The scallops dish came with 3 scallops total...ridiculous. The bulk of the plate was a salad that was bland. The sides we ordered included Brussels sprouts and green beans, both of which were, again, disappointing. With many great options in Vail, this establishment should not be in your dining rotation.

Yelp
Great service, nice ambiance and great food. My wife and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary here. Enjoyed to champagne and ordered a few oysters to compliment along with some great Colorado lamb. It was a very nice evening.

Yelp
So glad we were able to snag reservations here on somewhat short notice! This was my favorite meal during my recent visit in Vail. The scallop dish was incredible. Very well done. It is very small and feels very cramped, and gets loud. So the ambiance is a little chaotic for the fancy level of food they're preparing, but still a great place none the less!

Yelp
Food is excellent but extremely disappointed how the restaurant handles services charges. So be sure you read what they call "large" words at the bottom of the menu where they itemized their fees. It's an absurd that you end up paying 25% on top of everything you eat.

Yelp
The chowder is a 5 The fish tacos a 3 The bartender a 5 HOWEVER, any bar that is light on the Irish Whiskey runs dangerously close to being sacrilegious. It's a great location but the prices are a bit vail ish and considering your options when in town it's probably one to skip.
