"This cafe shares space with an old-timey, packed-to-the-rafters pharmacy, which means that unless you know to look for it, it’s easy to miss. The service here is limited to breakfast and lunch, both of which are pretty basic—really, you want to come for the pancakes. What’s more, is that the pharmacy itself is weirdly great. The shelves are lined with everything from perfume and fancy skin care lines to basics like Advil and shampoo."

Google
This is the perfect corner in the neighborhood to have a quiet and good breakfast. Simple and tasty. With good options. Great patio. Pet friendly. And the best part is the service. They were kind, accepted changes and let us have breakfast out of hours.

Great and friendly service. Had a Turkey wrap and apple curry salad. Nice proportions. Really wanna try their breakfast! Only complaint is pricey, but to be expected with area.

Google
I had a Greek Scramble, with spinach, tomato, onion, bacon, and feta. It was good, and everything was fresh. Serving sizes won't leave you stuffed but are still filling. Friendly service. Prices are a bit high, but considering the neighborhood it's to be expected.

Really nice, quiet location with good service. We had the pancakes and they were quite good. Coffe was standard, my wife got the hot chocolate and really liked it Would recommend a stop by if you are in the vicinity

Good food, super location, ok service, local crowd

Google
Cute, casual place to sit outside and have breakfast before going on a hike in the nearby hills. I had the California omelette. It was delicious. Prices are ok...

Google
Great location and food. Friendly staff. I will definitely be back and do recommend

Google
This restaurant was highly recommend to us by a dear friend. Especially the pancakes. Everything was delicious. Probably my only negative was the lack of choices for coffee creamer. All they had was half & half.

Yelp
Absolutely our favorite lunch place. The menu is simple and consistent. The food is always fresh and freshly prepared to order. I have tried everything on the menu and have never had anything I don't like. The soups are made daily and always delicious. The staff is so friendly and knows most if not all customers by name. It's a fresh unfancy wonderful local gem!

Yelp
Great work lunch today! Quick service, attentive, and the sandwich is pretty straight forward. Bacon and Brie on sour dough... *chef's kiss*

Yelp
The Montecito coffee shop located in the Montecito Upper Village shopping center is a quaint, homely place for a relaxing morning. The vibe here is low-key and casual. There is ample outdoor seating with nice views in every direction. All ingredients The service is usually busy and rushed. The general crowd consists of Montecito locals, usually over 60. You get the vibe that this is the senior citizen café for the Montecito residents who don't want anything spicy, or any seasonings, and enjoy probably a good old fashion chicken salad sandwich on rye! In fact the link you majority of the menu is old fashion sandwiches, they've got a patty melt, a tuna melt, and a egg salad sandwich. The food here is VERY basic. Everything on the menu can easily be prepared at home for a fraction of the price. Ingredients are not of high-quality, in fact most of what you can find at Ralph's down the street. The coffee they serve is diner-esque nothing fancy. Strong and hot all day. That said, there's a really positive vibe here, looks like an old-timey place with nice servers of all ages. There's lots to look at while you enjoy your meal and plenty of parking with shops nearby.

Yelp
What a cute little place. The actual coffee shop isn't really a coffee shop. Its more like a mini diner. There are a few seats inside, but if the the weather is nice, sit outside. Enjoy the views and people (and dog) watch. We sat at the corner table under the tree. What a wonderful location! The food was great and service was wonderful. We really enjoyed our Saturday brunch. We had: San Ysidro Poach, Greek Scramble and the French Scramble. This was lot for 3 of us. We could've just had 2 orders and been full. There is plenty of parking in the lot or along the street.

Yelp
Montecito Coffee Shop delivers quality food and service every time. Breakfast is lovely and they have an excellent selection to truly enjoy. Lunch during the week except Sunday is traditionally delicious, fresh and well prepared. No problem bring the pets they will receive excellent service with fresh water and a nice place to sit down when experiencing the front patio dining area. Always good food with friendly local staff that make you feel welcome. Don't hesitate, meet family and friends, they will enjoy it too!

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches for the beach! Our Airbnb happened to be just down the road from this cafe so our visit was based on convenience. Instead of having to decide on a place for lunch we ordered a few sandwiches for our beach day. The deviled egg sandwiches were really good. I'm really picky when it comes to egg sandwiches because I make some great egg salad myself but these didn't disappoint. Each sandwich came with a pickle and chips. Perfect beach lunch!

Yelp
We came here with my sister and cousin. We ordered the Tuna Melt, the Italian Chicken and BBQ chicken. Tuna melt was super delicious, but not too sure about the Italian chicken or the BBQ chicken. They had great customer service though, very approachable and sweet staff.

Yelp
You don't go here for the food in the same way you don't expect good food on an airplane. But tbh, airplane food is better tasting. Ordered tacos and burgers. They were wholly underwhelming. Cheese is not melted, under seasoned, tortillas cold. Burgers looked sad, under-seasoned, and dry. For $16, go to any fast food place and you'll get fries and a drink included for 10x more flavor. Again, it's a gathering spot, not a restaurant. Don't come hungry.

Yelp
This is a nice breakfast place. Seating is outside. Eating breakfast on the patio watching the world go by is one of my favorite things. It was a beautiful day in Montecito. We were seated promptly. The coffee is good. We split the Montecito omelette (honey ham and veggies), side of potatoes, and sourdough toast. Everything was represented well. The eggs were fluffy. The ham tasty. The potatoes tasted freshly made. Overall, the quality of ingredients was outstanding and the staff friendly. A good place.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was great. The wait staff were courteous and attentive. I enjoyed the egg white scramble with spinach, onions, and tomatoes. The meal came with fresh fruit and the bread of your choice. It was delicious. Will go back to enjoy more.

Yelp
Had the Huevos rancheros. Tortillas were soggy, cheese was unmelted. Bowl of black beans were severely under seasoned. Waiter was very okay. Saddest breakfast I've had in a very long time.

Yelp
Went in July with Covid still happening, the seating was outside with social distancing in place, awesome service from Danny. We ordered blueberry pancakes with the secret East Valley Dr. omelette that is not in the menu needless to say, it should be in the menu!

Yelp
Peaceful spot to enjoy an afternoon. I came across this place while in the upper village. I was attending an event in the area and had about 30 minutes to kill. Coming here was the perfect idea. I was with a friend and we both ordered mimosas and pastries. Everything turned out well. Service was friendly and prompt. We opted to sit indoors and I enjoyed the elegant decor scheme. There's also a patio to my knowledge which would be ideal on a warm day. I reviewed the menu and noticed that the shop sells made-to-order sandwiches, all of which sounded amazing. The table nearest us had sandwiches in their order and they did look nice. Alas, the event we were attending was serving lunch so there wasn't a need for us to order a full meal. However, I'd certainly come back for a sandwich and a coffee the next time I found myself in that part of town!

Robin H.

Yelp
Sitting outside, there are pretty views of the Montecito hills. The food is super good, and the ingredients are fresh. Their Breakfast on Sunday is our favorite. Highly recommend for lunch and breakfast on Sunday!
google avatar

Jay G.

Yelp
It says it's a coffee shop but be warned: they don't actually have ALL types of coffee. No espresso machine. Which I expect when I see "Coffee Shop."
google avatar

Rick N.

Yelp
Such an average overpriced turkey sandwich of the likes I've never had. Two slices on plain bread and a crappy side salad or romaine.m for $15. Service was barely there as well, even without a crowd. Save your time and dollars and hit Via Vai across the street.
google avatar

Donnie T.

Yelp
The food is outrageously priced! $15.95 for some iceberg lettuce and a scoop of chicken salad on it. $3.00 for a glass of countrytime lemonade - straight from the powder mix! The service was friendly.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Fast service. Beautiful outside patio area for a view of the hills while you eat. We came for breakfast. The menu is simple - don't expect anything fancy. They serve Peets drip coffee - not sure if they espresso coffee options here. I had the pancake combo - I love a sweet and savory breakfast. Whatever butter they use is fantastic! Not too much food. My boyfriend had the breakfast tacos. They were outstanding!

Kace S.

Yelp
Friendly, fast service once seated, I walk there on Sundays for breakfast. It is a laid back local haunt for people watching and comfort food. Great place to go if want to get out the house for a little while.

Yelp
This is a small, simple coffee shop, suitable for a cup of coffee or breakfast. It serves omelets, eggs & bacon, and oatmeal. The I didn't eat it, the San Ysidro Poach seems like the most interesting choice. CASH ONLY

Yelp
The food here is fresh and tasty. The patty melt crazy good. Love the Greek scramble. The soups are all turkey broth based fresh every day. Joyful and mellow atmosphere .....in Montecito!!!!! If you need a stupid coffee beverage try to get a life.

Yelp
Great breakfast! I ordered with the pancakes with strawberries. The strawberries were fresh and the pancakes were perfect.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME!! We've never had a bad meal there and we go 1-2 times sweet Debbie, the owner is great! Her chef makes fantastic soups and roasts a whole turkey everyday.

Yelp
I meet good friends here several mornings a week for breakfast, and sometimes bring my family on weekends --- definitely a cozy, coffee shop feeling, especially on a rainy day --- I really like the egg-white, green veggy omelette.

Yelp
A delightful coffee shop - breakfast place - light eaterie - in a lovely, villagey area of Montecito. The place was spotless and the staff are friendly and helpful, especially if you are visiting the area. Breakfast is varied and tastes extremely fresh. The side portion of fruit is really delicious, large and literally just cut - not something that was hanging around as yesterday's fruit salad. My friend and I loved our egg white omelettes and definitely left feeling full, but not in that regretful, 'why the helI did I eat all of that' kind of way. I highly recommend this great cafe for a hearty, healthy breakfast in a clean, friendly, quiet and calm environment if your staying in Santa Babs, or if you're looking to for a place to stop and refuel.

Yelp
Walked in, should have walked right back out. First thing the lady says when we walk in "Take a seat wherever you want... Oh, except for the table by the window, that one is always reserved for our beloved regulars and the gentlemen get very upset if it's taken" Ummm... Thanks for the details, could have just said the table is reserved... The guys who came in and sat there looked like some old grumpy ass men, sat there reading their news paper and glared over at my fiancé and I every time our baby made a noise. My fiancé was super uncomfortable the whole time, the lady running the place gave extra special attention to her regulars, made sure they ate first even though we arrived before them, didn't strike a conversation with us until it was time for me to sign and give a tip... Didn't leave a good one.

Yelp
This old timers place seems to be over rated, with the reviews, and the local seniors. I first walked in looking for and iced late and found a dated dinning room, only offering coffee and breakfast. I decided to come back and give it a chance considering the close proximity to work and home. We were disappointed. I ordered the $11.00 huevos rancheros, the best part was the avocado on top. The ''salsa'' tasted like marinara sauce, and the beans on the side were bland. My Boyfriends French toast was plan white bread with fake maple syrup. When we went to pay the check, we found out they don't except credit cards, so Adam had to run across the street to an ATM. When he came back and tried to pay the bill in cash, the server was too busy texting on his phone to notice. On a positive note, the coffee was good. If you are looking for a place to have a basic breakfast: eggs, toast, bacon, this place may not be the worst.

Yelp
Consistently good, high quality ingredients. If you love the feeling of a real old fashion coffee shop this is your place. Warm inside dining and a great patio with shade and sun!
google avatar

Yelp
The coffee was THE best I have had in years. They were so pleasant and accommodating. I was early for a meeting and just happened on this clean tiny place. I will drive out of my way to go there again.

Yelp
This has been a family favorite for over 25 years. Bright and cheery with tables inside and outside for dining. Fun place to meet people for breakfast or lunch this is a "locals" spot. Good coffee, Service with a smile - always! The food is always homemade and delicious with varied scrambles, pancakes, oatmeal, omelettes and other usual breakfast fare. This may sound strange, but I also love the dishware they use! It reminds me of my grandma's house. It is a bit pricey for breakfast. But the location and the ambience is worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfasts. Has a tendency to undercook the beans, they said that they are al dente' Cracks me up!! Al Dente' beans??? LMAO
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
The Food and Hospitality of the staff is always warm and the food is always good. I have never been unhappy. Some of the negative comments of others make room for us regulars that have always supported our local hangouts. Go to Denny's next time.

Yelp
I stumbled into this place looking for a coffee house to jump on Wifi and have lunch. Greeted by Paul, he invited me in and asked if I wanted coffee. I ordered cup of arugala soup with pine nuts made from scratch with a half of oven roasted turkey sandwich on wheat with fresh avocado and a side of homemade cranberrry salad. Needless to say it was perfect. The owner Debbie delivered the food. I can't speak for the breakfast, which apparently Heather G didn't enjoy. She obviously doesn't know how to use a cpu since she can not spell. Maybe she would be better off going to Denny's, where the prices and food are better suited for her. Fortunately there is no Denny's in Montecito.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast and got a seat outside. I ordered their San Ysidro Poached with fresh fruit and my husband got their Pancake Combo. The food portions aren't the biggest considering the price. But the food is very tasty! Not to mention their orange juice is freshly squeezed!!

John M.

Yelp
Fantastic pancakes, and if you haven't tried the San Ysidro Poached for breakfast, you are missing out.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice, clean and simple...great local destination haunt. Real friendly too!

Yelp
Decades ago, this was THE place to get a killer hamburger and chocolate shake or an old fashioned tuna sandwich. Now? I don't understand how anybody can rave about this place.
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
Excellent service and food to match. Will be back soon.

Yvette F.

Yelp
Thought this place would be really good.... Sorry to say but I was very disappointed! My family was visiting from out of town and wanted to to a LOCAL spot so I choose The Coffee Shop. I thought I had heard good things maybe I was wrong. The service was fine but not the food. My cousin was not able to eat half of what he ordered. The poached egg was more like hard boiled and the bacon was so DRY it tasted as if it were cooked in a microwave. All of our bacon was way over cooked. And the breakfast I choose was very dry as well. English muffin with poached eggs over done not runny at all like they should be. The French toast was good though!
google avatar

Cherie T.

Yelp
Had Sunday morning breakfast here after a long road trip. The omlette was light and fluffy with no hint of grease and the vegetables were perfectly fresh. Light and crispy potatoes, wheat toast and freshly squeezed orange juice rounded out a perfect start to the day. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is bright and cheerful - like being in someeone's spotless 1950's kitchen eating from their pretty guest dishes.

Yelp
This place has SO much promise...great location, really good service, lovely setting BUT the food is such low quality and negligent it is insulting. Santa Barbara has such a gorgeous abundant food supply but the Montecito coffee shop serves food that looks like it is from a prison cafeteria in a shitkicking town in the south. No imagination. No attention. Really a big fat waste of everything. An insult to the universe.

T C.

Yelp
This is hands down the best place in Montecito for breakfast or a casual lunch. Tom's has that cool casual back-in-time vibe that means you will eat well and eat a lot. Specials change daily, and the blueberry pancakes are out of this world. When the weather is nice (and that is most days), grab a seat on the large patio and have fun watching celebs and former captains of industry scarf down their meals in shorts and flip-flops, then head across the street to Pierre La Fond for more good sightings (at prices that are about 10x Tom's). Not five stars because the coffee never tastes the same no matter how often I go- it can be perfect, but sometimes it is less than fresh...

Joseph K.

Yelp
Great location, and if you're starving and stuck in the area, it's okay, but the food is mediocre, dated and nothing impressive. Hard to believe a place like this can stay in business in this day an age, maybe 40 years ago it would be considered okay. They also don't take credit cards, and WAY overcook the bacon. Like eating at Denny's or a middle America coffee shop, but no comparison to a decent CA eatery...
