Food was so so. Your typical dim sum stuff and a la cart items. My grandma was craving lobster so we got that too. Service was lacking as the waiters didn't really pay attention to us. The lobster we got, I think the manager showed us the lobster which looked big and he said it was 3 lbs., but after it was cooked it looked smaller and some pieces were missing. There was a lot of noodles. Parking gets full quick. There's some parking spots able on the side of property.

I went with two Chinese friends who were familiar with the service style and menu, and thanks to that, I had a great experience. However, for people with no experience in this type of restaurant, it could be hard and a bit confusing at first. The food was very good and a new experience for me. The prices are fair, but the service could be more welcoming to non-Chinese guests.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night for dinner. And even though our food was amazingly delicious, surprisingly the place didn't have many people. It was a quiet and relaxing atmosphere and our waiters were really attentive. All of the meat was cooked and very tender! Highly recommend! We got the steamed pork ribs with olive sauce, sautéed pig tripe with morchella, french style beef tender, roasted crispy pork belly, sizzling chicken with black bean sauce

Very good place for dinner, the hot and sour seafood soup is better than lots of places. Roast duck and salted chicken is really good too. Clam soup with vermicelli is my niece’s favor dish. Ong choy with ginger and fermented tofu favor is always good.

Went there for a banquet (suckling pig banquet ~$999). Service was great and was able to secure a banquet room so not too noisy (wedding banquet outside). Food was decent considering there was a wedding banquet the same night (would suggest avoiding wedding parties if possible at any restaurants as they can't properly prepare your food to its best ability). Not the best place if you're entertaining out of town friends but decent for eating out on own/family.

The food taste ok, but it triggered my IBS after the meal

This place was new probably 10 years or less in this area. Parking here at this restaurant was considered average, which means that not enough spaces for customers to park. The restaurant looked comfortable and bright. Foods at this restaurant were also average, it wasn't too salty or oily as others establishment. Services at this place were good and friendly. Have not tried their dim sum yet but will do on the other dates.

Food is good, we ordered a plate of roast pork from the deli. It was perfectly crisp. Bill came out to be $102 for 4 adults and 1 child (ouch!). They charged $1.95 tea service per person and the child was included ( no tea charge for children at other restaurants). Best be careful in what you order. Each plate will be $5 or more and others start at $10 and up. In all, we ordered 6 dim sum dishes with roast pork , a hotpot of tripe, and a regular order of beef chow fun. We couldnot eat the bbq beef pie pastry (orange pastry innn no photo) it had the texture of flaky dough with a lard binder. We tried to it bring up with the staff but they either didn’t understand or just ignored my comments. We left it un eaten after the first bite. A waste of $5.

I came for a banquet dinner of three tables with a community group, the food was amazingly tasty, and the parking was ample, including plenty of parking at the back of the restaurant. It's a straight shot down New Avenue from Alhambra to Garvey, and the restaurant is right around the corner after the gas station. You can't miss it. The black chicken soup was very clear and nourishing, the roast duck was especially delicious, the honey walnut shrimp was tasty, the steamed chicken with cilantro and ginger/green onions sauce was delicious. We had the filet minion beef was well marinated, the deep fried rock cod pieces with green onions and cilantro was delicious, the long green beans with preserved sausages was crunchy and tasty, the steamed tender greens with preserved vegetables were soft and juicy. The vermicelli, usually a favorite, lacked some tenderness, probably because we were at a banquet where people were socializing and networking quite a bit, and the liquid probably dried up in the meantime. The tapioca with taro and coconut milk was a delicious end to the meal. I recommend this restaurant if you have a group of people that you want to impress. There are tanks with fresh seafood, so if you want to order lobster or crab, they're pretty fresh and available.

I chose to give this place a try because the parking lot was full, and yet there was still people going in and out. When you come inside, you are greeted right away and brought to a table. There are plenty of seats and tables, not enough parking outside, which makes you believe that it would be packed. Inside also seems old and outdated. After seating, I was asked if i wanted anything to drink, whether I would like tea or water. No matter what you choose, you are charged a seating fee, or drink fee, of $2 per person, no matter what. Thinking i said water, they would bring me a bottle as pictured on their seating charge, but they brought me a clear cup with some tap instead. Well, we are already there, so we're going to give it a fair shot. Service was slow. Sat down and got drinks right away, then waited 30 minutes for our filled-out order to be taken away. It was only taken because i was waving the order in the air, argh. Here's what i ordered and what i think of each item: Number 4 on menu is the Shui Mai. Rated 3/5 Usually most places I've tried is a nice mixture of shrimp and pork. This one seems to be mainly pork with some crab eggs on top. Number 3, Har Gow. Rated 2/5 How do you mess up something so simple? By using shrimp that has gone bad?! C'mon. This is a must-have dish for dimsum! Number 39, Fried Ham Sui Gok. Rated 2/5 The fried footballs... fried looked ok, but you could tell it was under-fried. Either the temperature or the timing was off on these, but either way, very gummy and not crispy. Number 24, Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll 2/5 Again, another dish so simple because it uses simple ingredients. Rice rolls are fine, but the shrimps mess it up. Bad shrimps! The sauce was good, but bad shrimps! Afterwards, waiting for them to come by, never. Wave that order in the air again to get some attention. They come fast when you are getting their attention, cause they're trying to collect payment. Skip it, do yourself a favor, skip it! They also charge for any condiment you might want. $1 each, so nothing is on the table, but if you want soy sauce, $1! If you want chili, $1! If you want the hot mustard, $1! What other restaurant does this?! NONE! The food also ended up upsetting my stomach, bad food! Steer away, you've been warned.

Dim Sum is dying from LA food scene. Long time favorite. $30+ for three dishes, $6 for a dim sum plate at minimum. Though they tried to upscale their offerings, adding scallops and exotic foods, taste wise even down a level. And service has gone downhill as well, a bit of confusion and they became impatient. LA dim sum has been a long decline anyways, used to be that I visited LA just for the dim sum, now it is almost not even part of the activities.

Not recommended, I would never come back here. We drove by and saw that the parking lot was busy so stopped in to check it out. Hostess had rbf face and matching attitude, but she sat us right away. It's dim sum, you don't come for the service. There were quite a few large families dining in so we thought it was a good sign. Apparently they charge you $2 per person just to seat you and they call it a tea charge or water bottle charge. I only wanted water and they gave me a plastic cup of water instead of the water bottle as noted on their sign. This tap water was the best thing I had here so I guess that was $2 well spent? Hmmm. They don't give you soy sauce, chili, or hot mustard and if you want it, you have to pay another $1. I've never seen this before, so that was crazy! A charge for sauce! We ordered the classics: sui mai, har gow, football, and the shrimp noodles. The sui mai was bouncy but it did not taste good, they put way too much sesame oil and it tasted bitter. The shrimp in the har gow tasted rancid as did the shrimp in the rice noodle. The football looked like it would be crispy but it was not fried long enough and very gummy. Service was slow as only two ladies brought things out, one by one. None of it was worth eating. So we waited for someone to come around and no one did, even though there were a lot of guys standing around just watching people. So after a while I put my menu in the air and one of the guys came *running* from across the room - they are fast when it comes time to pay. I got food poisoning from this place. Go at your own risk.

Had another delicious banquet style dinner here recently to celebrate my sister's birthday. We had three tables in one of their private rooms and it was amazing. We had Roast Suckling Pig and Cold Cut Platter, Braised Scallops with Veggies, Honey Walnut Prawns, Braised Bird's Nest with Crab Meat, Braised Abalone with Mushrooms and Seasonal Green, Peking Duck, Lobster Noodle in Supreme Broth, Steamed Live Turbot, Shredded Dry Scallop with Egg White Fried Rice, and Taro Tapioca Soup and Longevity Buns for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious and hearty. Service was really attentive and accommodating. Prices are reasonable. We had a great celebration!

Came here with a party of 10 for dinner and was seated immediately. We ended up picking individual dishes which was a better option for our party. Most of the dishes were okay for me. The Pea Sprout dish, Seafood Chow Mein, and Scallop Fried Rice didn't have much flavor to it. The Hainan Chicken and Roasted Duck weren't as fresh and were super cold. The Stir-fry Giant Clams w/ Special Sauce and Beef wiith Fried Enoki were delicious - loved how they had a unique taste to it. The Beef with the Mushroom dish was super chewy and big. I do wish they made the beef a bit smaller since I was getting so tired of chewing. Lastly, the Lamb Stew Hot Pot was flavorful, but the meat was quite tough. Other than that, I felt like it wasn't the best Chinese food I've ever had; however, the price was affordable, and they gave a generous amount of food. Service could've been a lot better. I was feeling a bit uncomfortable when they were just standing 5 feet away from our table watching and waiting for us to order and finish eating. At times, they would also hop on into our conversation since we were the first one there at the time.

Loveeed this dim sum place! Came on a Saturday morning at 9:30am and was surprised to see how empty it was. We ordered a lot of the classic items and all of them tasted great. Their standouts were the rice rolls and their golden buns. They have a golden bun with pork in it which is essentially their baked pork bun, and it was sooo good. We also ordered it with their egg custard inside for dessert. Plenty of tables inside and they also take reservations. Service is typical Chinese restaurant service but it's quick and efficient! Also pricing was really decent in my opinion.

I haven't been to this restaurant in ages and decided to come for dim sum. Restaurant is large and spacious. Dim sum was ok. It was hard to wave a server to stop by. Seafood crispy noodles were bland. The only thing that was good was the durian pastry. It was light and flaky.

We came here on Memorial Day for a birthday and was greeted with no wait and hot food. This is usually not the norm and you can expect long waits and bad parking. But ultimately, it is very worth it. We ordered an assortment of dim sum classics, including har gow and siu mai. The stand out of the meal was the crispy golden buns, which were fried to perfection! Overall great choice for dim sum (if you're willing to wait the long lines)!

Is it a norm or what, I went for half roasted duck, half soy sauce chicken and BBQ pork. The roasted duck pieces are missing a couple of pieces. My soy sauce chicken is missing a thigh. BBQ pork is ok for they cannot take anything away with such small order. When it is just half order, it is really easy to detect the missing parts. I literally saw whoever is cutting the duck pieces slipping a couple of pieces aside from other restaurants. I mean, we are paying for the whole pieces. Should we just weight our order after they chopped it up. Please, life is tough already and let me have what I paid for. Guys, watch out.

Dim sums are alright and reasonably priced. If you don't very high expectations then this is a good place to go for dim sums. Beware of the crowd on the weekends and parking is limited.

Pretty solid dim sum spot in the SGV! Note that you put in your order on a sheet of paper - this isn't a carts circling around establishment. Standouts were the pineapple buns (bo lo bao) w/ pork BBQ filling - these were so good. Prices were around standard - $20-30 per person including tax/tip. Don't think this is my go-to spot yet, but can't go wrong if you're in the area. My dad hosted a banquet for my wife and I to celebrate our recent wedding. Food was great, customer service wonderful and parking available (came on a Monday night). Come and host a reception or a wedding here. Staff is friendly and the food is great. Everyone said that the food was amazing.

Just had a banquet dinner here and not sure why all the low scores... maybe because I'm more of a sweet and sour pork kind of guy... but all the dishes I had were excellent... duck, and sausage 9/10, walnut shrimp 10/10, beef broccoli 10/10, string beans and mushrooms 9/10, beef chow fun 10/10, chow Mein noodles 7/10, and tapioca soup 8/10... maybe it's because I live in OC... maybe it's because I'm Japanese American, third generation that grew up on Far East in Little Tokyo and Tin Sing's in Gardena and now Sam Woo's in Cerritos... but if I lived here this would be my go to spot... sorry no photo's I forgot because I was eating!

I've only been here for dinner, so can't speak for their morning dim sum experience, but it feels like a standard Southern Chinese restaurant such as Atlantic Seafood or New Capital. They have options for 10 course and one soup, but we went with ordering individual dishes, and most didn't really stand out to me. Some of the dishes are bland, such as the pea sprout vegetables, and could definitely do with more spices such as garlic or pepper. One interesting dish was the lamb stew hot pot, which was really flavorful, especially the soup/sauce, but the lamb wasn't the softest/tenderest. The stir fry giant clams was also interesting; slightly sweet special sauce and cooked with green peas. It's not available in all other Chinese restaurants. I do appreciate the portion sizes and the relative pricing, we ended with having a lot of leftovers at the end. Service here is also average. Some of the dishes took a lot longer to come out, and also we never got any refills on tea despite only having two pots among 10 people.

Giving them 3 stars because theyre on both spectrums for different things. Pretty disappointed with this place for DIMSUM. They dont have carts and their menu doesn't offer that much. Quality of their pieces weren't that good either as you could tell it was either cheap ingredients or cooking wasn't as good. The dimsum was pretty bland and really needs soy sauce and condiments to save it, which they didnt serve. Service was really slow too as it took forever for waiters to see us even though they were walking by constantly and we were waving. I dont think i'd come back for dimsum. Their peking duck, chicken and all that however is good and there's always a line and this is the only reason why I gave them a few extra stars. Their lot absolutely sucks though and parking is just pure luck.

No carts, but good eats for standard Dim Sum. Order by marking up the paper menu. Servers check off when they drop them off. Had all my standard favorites, har gao, shumai, the egg custard bao was very good, and the one wrapped in a leaf (forgot what they are called) had a lovely flavor too. There are several tea options. One was as strong as gun powder tea so ordered a jasmine pot. You have to ask for any condiments as they aren't plunked down on the table without asking. Free parking in the lot or on the street.

First time trying this place with parents. The dim sums were very delicious and authentic. We also tried the abalone since it was recommended and had the special offer going when we were there.

I have been coming to this spot and different incarnations of restaurants. Currently it is Monterey Palace Restaurant. We were here for my co-workers retirement dinner party. I was worried about parking, so I arrived early and parked in the back parking lot. There is also a takeout annex in the front that sell cha-su, roast duck, etc...It's seemed kinda empty tonight for a Friday. I remembered it usually being busy. We were in a private banquet room, and had about 12 people. The menu was preset, and the food came out quickly. the highlights were the young roast pig, lobster, crab soup, mushroom abalone. We were the last people to leave and gathered in the front to talk. The front security gate was closed, but we still stayed to talk. Then to my dismay, I found that the rear parking lot gate was locked, and my car was still parked inside....stay tuned!

Sketchy, almost felt like we got scammed here. Shady business practices We came here for dinner and ordered the set banquet meal for a party. We had a party of 14 , but ordered the meal set that was for 10 people. We have older family members that are older or don't eat that much so the 10 would've been perfect without any leftovers. So what the restaurant did not mention and decided to do without ever mentioning it to us or ask is that they had to add more food to feed our party and make the dishes larger. And because they added more proteins, veggies, etc. they had to add a few hundred more to the bill. None of this was mentioned to us until we got our bill. Shady business practice. House gratuity was fine and expected for our large party, but the additional fees because the restaurant decided it wasn't enough food was ridiculous. All the food came, overall I would say the food is lackluster. Much of the dishes lacked flavor. Oh not to mentioned that there was too much food on the table because they didn't have any flavor and everyone was full. Not too mention that the fried rice was the last dish served out of 7 or 8 dishes. Why? It's as if they forgot some dishes. Who knows if they actually added more food for our meal Service was fine and overall the staff was friendly, but the sketchy business practices turned us off from this place. Place is okay, parking is very limited in front and back. At busier times, you may have to park on the street

Ordered an assortment of dishes. This is a great go to spot for some of the best dim sum and family style big dishes. Place can be busy so come early or later during the rush hours. Service is very fast, dim sum orders usually come very quickly. The larger family style orders usually take a bit longer to cook and prepare. The place can be quite loud with all the chatter around you but that adds to the charm of this classic family sitdown restaurant.

Before covid, this used to be one of the respected dim sum place in Chinatown. I went there this morning for dim sum, and as soon as I was seated, the server told us their most famous roast pork (baby pig) dish, just off the oven. He was bragging about it just like a used car salesperson. I didn't give a second thought at the time and go for it. Was I in a big surprise, when it arrived at the table, the skin was hard not crispy, the meat was cold. The single dish with small serving was $30. I swallowed my pride and pretended that I make a charitable donation to support Chinatown business. Then the rice noodle wrap (golden sand rice wrap), three row of noodles, and each row of noodle has only one shrimp in the middle section, go figure....that is way below dim sum standard. It is too much donation for me, no more going back to get my business. Other dished were acceptable, nothing to write about it.

The service was lackluster. At first they greet you in a friendly tone then they forget you exist. We came here on Mother's Day because Kim Tar's wait was too long. In my opinion, Kim Tar is far better in terms of food and service. The food at Monterey Palace Restaurant was salty. We ordered hotpot and asked for bowls snd spoons. Even though they weren't that busy compared to the other place ( only 6 tables) they were chatting with the other tables in Chinese and ignored us. We looked over and saw the other tables had all of their utensils. We repeatedly asked for utensils. I am assuming if you don't speak Chinese they just flat out ignore you. They never checked in on us. As soon as we paid, they proceeded to clear the tables while we ate dessert. Despite all the issues, we still tipped a decent amount. 不好, 食物鹹, 沒有湯匙

Best place for dim sum or dinner. Great staff. Very friendly and always willing to assist.

I've been here a few times, with my family and also with friends visiting from out of state. The food is always delicious. Today I stopped in after the Yelp Elite event at a ramen place nearby to pick up some dinner for my parents, who enjoy this place. Lo and behold, fresh out of the kitchen soy sauce chicken popping out on a huge tray of what must've been 20 chickens carried by this Chinese man! This was at the take-out section, a narrow and small part of the restaurant usually with huge lines, but today I got lucky! This was just before people came in for dinner. Their system is one person will service one customer of their entire order from picking up the meat, chopping the meat (in this case a whole chicken), packing it up along with my piece of Hong Kong Style BBQ Pork then the lady at the register rang me up. FYI, at the takeout part of the restaurant they only take cash. And the price for the whole chicken is significantly lower than if ordered in the restaurant for the sit down price. You could request them to package the chicken in two boxes, each contains 1/2 of a chicken if that is your preference. They doused it with delicious Chinese soy sauce gravy in the box. I got home, my parents loved the fresh chicken. It was a success!

My family and I decided to try this place for dim sum during the week because that's when it's cheaper ($5.29/plate). We had the ha gow, sui mai (both plump and good), taro root cakes (light), pork intestines, pork ribs on top of dough (eh), flat noodles with shrimp inside (good), sweet pork buns (good, but had better) and chicken feet (good, but had better). Food was decent for the price. We didn't order the popular roast pork nor duck that people were ordering next to the restaurant. Nice ambience with TV on the Chinese channel and another tuned to ESPN. Parking on the lot. We wouldn't return because there are other better dim sum places in the area. However, the price is right for decent dim sum.

The food and service here used to be good, but it's sadly gone really downhill. I came with my family and took up a large table. We marked our food selections on the menu and it took awhile for someone to come by to take our tea and dimsum order despite us trying to wave down a server. The chicken feet and tripe were okay. It was tender but was lacking in a stronger flavor. The best of what we had were the spare ribs with cherng fun. The meat had good black bean flavor and was soft. The lotus wrapped sticky rice had just that, just sticky rice. There was barely and filling inside. Overall, my family agreed that the food tasted under salted or wasn't marinated for long enough. What really upset me though was they missed 3 of our dishes. By the time we were done eating, we still didn't receive it and asked the server to cancel it and to give us our bill. Instead, a different server came back with our orders and bill, slammed them on the table, and literally forced us to take it! We told her that the other server was supposed to cancel it and in Chinese she essentially said "well it's here now, isn't it?" and walked away. I was so shocked and lo and behold, the server who was supposed to cancel our order stayed around the other side of the restaurant to avoid us. Seriously? There are better dim sum places, especially in the 626.

Came into this place for a family gathering, enjoying morning dim sum on this visit today. Dining area was fairly large, nicely decorated. The dim sum itself was good, nothing to write home about, wasn't mind blowing, but I guess it satisfied my dim sum cravings. Didn't seem like there was a large variety to choose from, the menu look somewhat large, but after about 7 different dim sum dishes, it just seemed like everything else was the same. Other menu items were not available until after 10am. Like I said, the food was ok, service was good, restaurant seemed clean. 3 stars from me.

This restaurant is always seems to be busy. They serve Chinese dishes and seafood along with dim sum. Parking can be pretty rough, so if you don't find parking in front there is more behind the restaurant or you can try to find street parking. I feel like the price is on the higher side for average-ish dim sum. It will do if you're craving dim sum but I think there are better places. It's also a shame that with each visit it seems like prices are raising and they charge extra for most things now but I guess that is becoming the norm. One good thing is that service is very fast.

Arrived at 5:00pm and found plenty of parking. The parking lot is small and narrow, however, we found several empty spots on an early evening Sunday. To my surprise, the place was empty. We were seated right away and the waiter asked for the type of tea we wanted. The service was very good. Foods ordered: 1. Deep Fried Egg Tofu with enoki mushrooms and broccoli: Great flavor with light seasoning. The tofu was deep fried to perfection. Very good dish. 4.5 out of 5 2. Steak Filet with mushrooms: The star of all the dishes. The marination was excellent and the meat was cooked medium rare and tender. Biting into one with a garlic slice was memorable. Excellent dish. 5 out of 5 3. Clams with basil: Clams were a bit chewy but the sauce was very good. The basil and white onions were flavorful. Dish was ok. 3 out of 5 4. Beef chow fun: Lots of gravy and fun. Beef was tenderized and flavorful and overall the fun was very good. The sauce was lightly seasoned which was great. Very good dish. 4 out of 5 5. Sweet and sour pork chops: The pork chops were very tender, however, it was a bit too tart and vinegary for my tastebuds. Dish was 2.5 out of 5 stars. Overall, Monterey Park Palace is a great place to go to for a family meal. They also have a deli right inside the restaurant and have one of the best White Cut Chicken.

If you're looking for a good dim sum place around Monterey Park, California, look no further. This place is the one! One of my uncles (who lived around Alhambra 20+ years) recommended that my dad and I try out this dim sum restaurant. I must say he has good taste! We ordered: - Shiu Mai with Shrimp Roe - Crispy Golden Cream Buns - Chicken Feet with Abalone Sauce - Steamed Shrimp Dumpling All of their foods are delicious! Made fresh to order and perfect taste, you don't even need soy sauce to eat with your dim sum. We both especially love the Crispy Golden Cream Buns, (nice warm buns, with egg pudding inside) our favorite! If you're looking for a delicious dim sum, I highly recommend trying this place. The parking may be kind of tough as this place looks busy but when you go inside, there are tables available. Plus, they have take outs as well.

Had a craving for Char siu so I came by this place as Happy Harbor has closed. I thought I got a good piece and I cut it up myself. One touch of the knife and the feel was not good. Very tough. It was very dry and lean. The parts with a little fat tasted tough from connective tissue instead of soft fat. Very disappointing. The texture tasted like the pork shoulder I used to make char siu. It is hard to find good char siu anymore. My sweet memories of char siu at this place is gone.

Good dimsum, their chicken, crispy pork feet are so good. Now i know where to go when I want chinese food, worth the wait and drive.

Good ol traditional sim sum place! Minus the ladies pushing the carts around, instead, you order your items on a piece of paper and they bring it out of the kitchen! I usually get Togo and enjoy my dim sum at home but thought why not it's been over couple years since I dined in. Overall food was decent besides the inflation prices I actually came here because I needed to order a whole pig for my work for next week! Just about $350-$400 depending on the size you need or (whatever they have ) pre order a week ahead and pay deposit or upfront.

My dad and grandma suggested me to try this restaurant. You can tell that it's an authentic Cantonese resturaunt by walking in and seeing all the Canto people. No need to speak English to the workers here. Ordered the lamb pot which my grandma recommended, delicious, savory, lamb and bean curd dish. My favorite would have to be the ma la gao or brown sugar cake. So fluffy, brown sugary, not too sweet ( you know that's the best Asian compliment) Next favorite is the beef tripe, texture crunchy and msg flavors. Ordered the shrimp rice roll, gai lan ( Chinese broccoli) and siu mai. Very cool to experience canton in LA, then u leave the city and you're back in America.

the service was so bad. we were forced to leave the tip at the door even though we left it on the table. they should have double checked before coming out to see us. it was so bad and we won't be back even though we are regular customers.

Attended a red egg and ginger part for a close family friend. The food was outstanding and the service excellent. Best dinner was the roast piglet appetizer and lobster. Place has dim sum and a takeout place.

This review is for the duck which is sold at the side of yr restaurant. I have never actually been to the restaurant itself. The roasted duck here is probably one of the best ducks I have had compared to the other places around town (yes maybe even better than Sam Woo). The ducks here are super meaty and way less fatty. I can't recall the price for a whole duck because it's been a while since I got one but I think it's around $24? You want to go a bit earlier than dinner time because they may run out due to the dinner rush. They also sell other meats here which I would occasionally get the cha siu but I don't recommend it here because it's a bit more on the fattier side. Cash only and there is a parking lot out front but it is limited since it's not too big of a lot. I recommend this place and will always come back here for the duck to go!

I always come to this place, very authentic Cantonese food. Roast duck, roast pork are good. Salted egg York bun is the best. Chicken is good too. Shao Mai is not as good as before

Delicious dim sum spot. Hard to find parking around the restaurant - you have to wait or be lucky. Quick seating usually, even when it looks busy. Quick service as well for dim sum items (plates take longer). They provide hot water with the tea pot so you can refill yourself. We ordered 7 items for 3 people and it came to about $50. I think it was a decent deal.

Growing up in the 626, Monterey Palace was the spot for dim sum on the weekends and family dinners. Pretty solid spot for Chinese comfort food. Soy sauce chicken and roast duck from the deli are definitely staples and a family favorite. My only gripe is the parking situation. There's a parking lot in the front and the back but never any parking when I come. Most times I have to find parking on the street. I normally don't like coming solo for pick ups for this reason. If you're picking up food with someone, service at the deli is very quick so you could drop the person off and stall for a couple minutes in the parking lot. Highly recommend!

Came here with my family for Father's day dinner last night and I am disappointed with the food quality. I was able to make reservations the same day which was a plus given its a holiday. Parking was horrible. Small parking lot and the streets were filled too. I had to park 1 block away. Old looking inside with old chairs and carpet is black. Our table's lazy susan was uneven. They ran out some items we wanted like the roasted duck and sweet and sour pork. We ordered this stuff egg plant dish and when it came out, it looked so ugly. Literally just 2 eggplant and thick gravy sauce over the top. The eggplant was stuff with VERY little fish cake or I don't even know what it was because you can't see what it is because of the quantity of it. I couldn't taste anything, Bland and it was just only eggplant. The steak and mushroom dish was disgusting. Uneven cuts of steak and mushroom were not even sliced. Just huge pieces of mushrooms. They didn't even bother to cut it up smaller or anything. Overall, disappointed and definitely not worth my $200 for 6 dishes. 18% gratuity is included in the bill. Never coming back again.

First time having dinner at the restaurant and we brought our family with us. We called ahead to reserve for 16 people and they were able to accommodate our party. I don't remember everything we ordered but we did get our usual fried pork, chow mein, and fried rice. We also tried the fried enoki mushrooms and that was amazing! Their service was good, very attentive and quick. They were friendly as well. We came on a Saturday evening and parking was tight as we arrived but they had space in their back lot.

This is a review of the BBQ to go. They have very limited selection of readymade food. It is a fixed price for any item for a medium size box. They really should update this side of the restaurant. It looks old for a decent looking restaurant.

Ok, so I came here randomly because my friend was getting her car fixed and we had some time to kill. It was early, and neither of us had cravings, so why not get some dim sum? We had originally planned to go to a different dim sum place but they only do to-go now so we ended up here. Which ended up being a wonderful surprise! We ordered the sticky rice, crispy golden cream bun, turnip cake, bbq pork rice roll, and the shrimp & chives dumplings. They were all very good with the stand out stars being the sticky rice and the crispy golden cream buns. The sticky rice flavor was on point and the crispy golden cream bun had a very good cream to bun ratio. The only 2 things I wish for this place was 1) they had the shrimp and chive dumpling as a fried option. That's my all time favorite dim sum dish. 2) they didn't charge for the mustard paste and chili sauce (it was $1 at the time of this review). But otherwise all in all, 5 stars for food. There's a (free) self parking lot in the front which has quite a bit of spots but it gets PACKED.

Lined up and ordered my food. I got to the cash registere and somehow my item was missing. I told the lady and she was like "how would I know?" To top it off, she gave me a ripped bag so that the sauce would spill everywhere. I grew up in SGV, so bad service is not new. But this place definitely is the champion for that. Also, the food quality has gone down. The duck was not flavorful.

My family has been frequenting this place for years as it's our go to seafood restaurant. It's usually bustling in the mornings for dim sum, and packed on weekends nights for dinner. Overall vibe is like any other Asian seafood restaurant. The staff are all very friendly and they always have friendly banters with us. My grandparents love eating baby roast pork and this place does it very well. They always cook this well, and the pork itself has the perfect meat to fat ratio making it very tender. The walnut shrimp here is also pretty good. Not too heavy on the sauce and just crispy enough. When dinner is finished, they provide either free fruits or dessert porridge. Definitely a nice way to finish off the meal.
