Montesol Experimental Ibiza

Positive : Amazing staff, great location, room is good. Less positive : no real lounge to spend time, breakfast is good but the hotel is counting every roll as only one dish is included, not possible to go on balconies ( security reasons ) For sure not a 5 stars hotel. But staff makes it up.

Visited twice to enjoy the.night views of the castle and the marina. A variety of cocktails.and wines available. Good atmosphere and decent service. Tried the tick.tock.toe cocktail along with a.black Russian ( best one ever according to my wife) and an old Cuban. Take the lift next to.reception and use the door that says no exit !

Stayed here for a few nights with my boyfriend. The interior and decorating is beautiful. The staff are nice. It’s in a very convenient location, which is great. However, for the price you’re paying, you’re better off staying elsewhere. They advertise that the rooms have balconies, which they do, but you’re forbidden to step out. They also advertise their experimental beach, which we called a week earlier asking if we could book it and they said they were fully booked. Space at the beach should be reserved for hotel guests. In addition, the rooftop is only open after 7 pm and it’s a restaurant/bar. The food is good but I was expecting the rooftop to be open 24/7. In conclusion, it’s a nice hotel in terms of decor but they lack amenities. Also our key card would stop working every day 😭

Beware - all standard rooms at this hotel have privacy glass across the rooms window, so that you can’t see out. This isn’t highlighted when booking a room - technically visible in the room photos, but not clear it is privacy glass - clearer photo attached so ensure you are OK with this before booking. There likely isn’t any solution when you raise with reception as all rooms in the category have the same problem - so they will suggest to you to pay more for the premium room, if there is availability. Location is good, staff were good but unable to offer solutions until manager was in on the next day. In my opinion - avoid the standard room category and consider only next level up. Unable to speak fully to The Standard hotel around the corner, but at a similar price point suspect their room product is better.

Wonderful cocktails and service, a stunning view and moderate prices. Really enjoyed sunset drinks on the rooftop. We didn’t stay at the hotel, but we’d recommend the rooftop for anyone passing through Ibiza town and looking for somewhere special to have a couple of drinks. There is also a sushi menu.

We had the surprise pleasure of having a lunch at Montesol! Absolutely beautiful place, well designed and superb food. Coffee and desert was also delicious! Highly recommend if you are in Ibiza to check it out.

We absolutely loved this hotel. It’s located right in the middle of town close to the shops and best restaurants and bars. The room was impeccable and VERY nice. Stayed in room 101. They have a rooftop with an excellent view. The breakfast is delicious. There is an overnight valet service if you’re bringing a car and it gives you in/out privileges. Above all the staff were super courteous and helpful in every way. Highly, highly recommend you stay here.

Over 50 years ago, I sipped coffee under the eves of the Montesol. Then as now, it has always been the Grande Dame of Ibiza hotels. Today as I return after so long an absence, I find the Montesol has been thoroughly modernized and renovated with exquisite taste. Ideally situated between the harbour and the Old Town, the Montesol is just steps away from both. The rooms on the front of the building overlooking the plaza have a breathtaking view of the castle that dominates the town and protects the entrance to the harbour. The well equipped guest rooms are decorated with a touch of whimsy and colours that reflect the soul of the island. The beds are very comfortable and quiet once the doors to the balcony are closed for the night. Breakfast is made to order and served in the lovely restaurant or, more appropriately, on the square in front of the hotel where the people watching is beyond compare. The management and staff are devoted to the comfort and well being of the hotel’s guests and are eager to meet your every request.
