Boston Restaurants With the Best Views | Eater Boston

"Dine on flatbread pizzas, cicchetti, or small plates, and hearty Italian entrees at this newcomer located inside the Royal Sonesta hotel. Grab a drink and settle in on the patio overlooking the Charles River and Back Bay’s most notable buildings. Soon, they plan to add an alfresco raw bar to their summer lineup for oysters and rosé with Boston as a backdrop." - Celina Colby

9 New Restaurants to Check Out This Summer - Eater Boston

Best antipasti’s and flatbread! Highly recommend the Ricotta antipasti and the mushroom flatbread, they taste so delicious, are made so fresh, and have tons of little details that elevate the dish. The pesto gnocchi was okay, it tasted a bit salty and was a bit doughy. I didn’t really taste the pesto too much. But, everything was presented very nicely, and the portions are quite generous!!! Especially for an Italian restaurant. I had a great experience at Monteverdi and would recommend it for those who are looking for a beautiful dinner spot by the river. The views are beautiful, the restaurant itself is beautiful, and the service is excellent. Food came out decently quick too!

Ordered the verde gnocchi, and unfortunately it was one of the worst gnocchis I've ever eaten. It was firmer and chewier than its supposed to be, a clear sign of having used too much flour. The pesto sauce also distinctly lacked any flavour. Pine nuts are always a good addition, but even they couldn't save the dish. I ended up leaving 70% of it on the table, paying, and leaving. The service was fine, and the location overlooking the river is pleasant, with some outdoor seating. I rarely feel this negatively strongly about a dish, and can only hope their other choices are better.

Recently Opened Italian restaurant in Royal Sonesta Hotel with with stunning views of the Charles River and the Boston skyline. The dining space includes two bars, an outdoor patio, and private rooms, making it ideal for both casual meals and special events. The food was wonderful, and the Staff are really helpful and friendly. only improvement needed is in their services which can be slow or sometime hard to find staff for order.

Alen is a great host and Valeria made it happen. Best spot to enjoy a great drink in Sonesta. Highly Recommend it!

I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone in the Cambridge area. I enjoyed a solo dinner at Monteverdi during a brief stay in Boston. The atmosphere was sophisticated and calming and the staff was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The salmon dinner was exceptional and the side vegetables were perfectly charred. It was too rainy for the patio when I was there, but I could see that would be an outstanding option for dinner or a drink along the Charles during nice weather. Overall an excellent dining option!

Google
New Italian restaurant with a nice waterfront view of the Charles River. Recently took a visit for dinner, drawn by the newest venture from Chef Seth Greenberg, who also manages Columbus Hospitality restaurants.  Given the pedigree, I had high expectations. Like most Columbus Hospitality spots, Monteverdi sticks to a “less is more” philosophy, offering classic Italian fare with a casual twist. The menu featured familiar dishes you'd find at North End restaurants, but with a bit more flair. We initially had a hard time picking appetizers as the menu didn’t have many intriguing options. Eventually, we settled on the whipped ricotta and pepper-crusted beef carpaccio, and both turned out to be excellent choices. The whipped ricotta, served with a side of smoky grilled bread, paired beautifully with the natural sweetness of silan (date honey). Meanwhile, the beef carpaccio, carved fresh from the kitchen, was a classic dish topped with fried capers, arugula, parmesan, and lemon. It was a refreshing and enjoyable dish—definitely worth the wait. From the entrees, we opted for the Linguine Vongole, Pork Milanese, and the Truffle Polenta. The first two were just okay. The Linguine Vongole had a highly acidic flavor from the wine sauce and lemon, leaving a taste somewhat reminiscent of cheese, which I wasn’t a huge fan of. The Bone-in Milanese was thicker towards the bone and thinner at the edges, resulting in uneven cooking—the meat near the bone was perfectly juicy and tender, while the edges were a bit overcooked. Surprisingly, my favorite dish from the entrees was the Truffle Polenta. The medley of vegetables, from pearl onions and cauliflower to mushrooms and baby carrots, paired smoothly with the creamy polenta. While the truffle flavor was barely noticeable, the occasional burst of garlicky goodness from the garlic chips made it interesting enough. Despite its grand opening a few weeks ago, Monteverdi hasn’t attracted a lot of crowds. The food here is good and simple, but perhaps not quite on par with Greenberg's other upscale Boston restaurants . The menu prices are very reasonable (except for the pasta), so I’ll definitely come back for brunch once they open.

I absolutely love this place! The service is impeccable, with incredibly kind and attentive staff. The view of the Charles River adds a beautiful touch to the whole experience. Now, about the food—it's amazing! The Bucatini is an absolute 10/10, and the Garlic Fries are just as impressive. Whether you're looking for a lovely dinner or a relaxing moment with a great glass of wine, this spot is highly recommended

Had a few private parties here and I have to say, this is an absolutely wonderful place to eat and host a group. Excellent location, excellent food and excellent service (I dealt a lot with Jonny and Kelly and they were magnificent). AND a special shoutout to the event manager Lara, who I dealt with for a lot of logistics. She was always one step ahead of me with what I needed and always on point in delivering 5 star service! Thank you so much for everything!

Yelp
What an amazing space! The service was great and the food impeccable. Loved the tuna crudo and halibut, and we shared the fall harvest flatbread- fantastic! Make sure you try the house rogue Negroni! Everything was outstanding, cannot wait to come back to try more!

Yelp
We stopped by this place on a whim on Friday night around 6 p.m. We ordered a couple of appetizers--mussels and Parmesan fries(soggy a little ) which were okay, but nothing special. The service was pretty slow; it took 30-40 minutes for the apps to come out, and our drinks arrived last. When we finally got our pasta, we could only take a couple of bites before we had to chug our water. It was so salty that our lips felt dry and tingly. Maybe we just picked a bad night to visit because there was a DJ and a clothing event going on, and the place was turning into a club. It was super loud, and people were vaping and smoking. The whole vibe was just kind of weird and not what we were expecting.

Yelp
We were staying at the hotel and were told that we could order from our room by reception. We called every number we could find up to having the concierge transfer the room phone over to the restaurant and could not find a way to speak to a person and place our order for pick up. Honestly, the menu wasn't worth the 20 minutes we spent looking for a way to contact the restaurant.

Yelp
The atmosphere was perfect for a great evening along the Charles! We had the Crispy Calamari to start followed by the Bolognese and Halibut as our entrees. The balance of flavors and combinations were spot on, delicious! The service was just as great, all staff members were extremely attentive and took care of our every need!
