I haven’t visited this place in over 15 years . The food ,service and drinks wear excellent. Our server was Sergio loved the attention. My passion margarita was so yummy. Had the eggplant casserole with chicken. they have happy hour on Sunday evening . I had to get a cappuccino to call it a night after my third margarita. Good food. Very nice. Definitely coming back. Thank you.

I recognize that businesses aim to profit from loyal customers, but charging $71 for just four drinks on February 14th is excessive and feels exploitative. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to decide not to return. It’s important for local establishments to prioritize their community, and this pricing shows a disregard for that valued relationship.

I went here with my family in the evening. The restaurants food is amazing, the service was great, and the music was always loud with salsa, dembow, merengue,etc. The atmosphere was enjoyable.

I went there on a Wednesday with my family, the Atmosphere is amazing, music is great and it was kinda empty when we was there. They had a Happy Hour that had food and drink, they said only drinks are on the happy hour and not the food, BUT it's advertised all over the place. I had the food and it was great but it was false advertisement about Happy Hour and why we went in the first place to save a few dollars and we spent a lot of money there. I would go back but no time soon.

It was my first time here, I had Red Snapper with salad, and it was a good first impression. The food was excellent, as well as the service. But expect some delays. Also be prepared for hidden costs. Besides the regular tax, they're going to bill you another 18% service charge, and still expect you to give tips.

The food and drinks consistency is on point! Food is great and plenty. The drinks are well-balanced and effective 🍹😜. Two 👍👍 for the bartenders. Very welcoming environment even though the place is more on the cozy side. The restaurant in the evening is a bit dim. It gives somewhat of a nice ambiance. Its especially nice when they have live band/performances on Friday nights (small stage though). The waiters are pleasant and always make sure you have what you need.

Second time here and the food is delicious!! Servers are friendly. The food took a bit long but overall I had a good time with friends and family. Great options for virgin drinks.

Didn't like food waz just regular nothing to brag abt.drinks suckef. The salad was my favorite I would not recommend this place..kudos to those who love this place.

Great service (came on a Sunday earlier in the day) really good food. Nice strong drinks. There was an area set up for live performances, I would love to come back one night and see one!

Sat at bar for lunch specials. A cockroach crawled out of the menu and ran atop the bar. We waved the bartender over and pointed to the still very present cockroach. The bartender looked unsurprised and a bit annoyed. Grab a rag to whip the roach out of sight onto the floor of the bar. Nope not going back til that clean up!!

I've been coming to this place for years,good music able to dance. The food was always good and the service was always nice and friendly. Food is great and the drinks are delicious. I always have a Margarita on the rocks, hubby drinks Pina Colada. For some reason his drink was not as good as before, it was watery and did not have the thickness. It was really disappointed. But his dish made up for it. We always return.

The food has always been stellar at this place, and the drinks even better. I used to love coming to this place for their frozen Margaritas. During happy hour? Even better! Happy hour is no longer happy though. They wanted to jump on the price gouging bandwagon, and increased their happy hour prices on the margaritas by 80%! That's outrageous. This is pretty close to being the best you can get in the Bronx, unfortunately now it comes with Manhattan prices.

I'm still giving this place three stars. My bartender was not very pleasant or entertaining like most places I have visited. The appetizers were very misleading. I thought I was getting a bunch of fresh nachos like the beef nachos were, but instead I received 4 nachos with imitation crab meat all over it. They were not good or worth the price. Now my beef nachos, those were excellent. I wish I had ordered those first. I have to say the bar scene was nice until about 8p.m. that's when they turn up the music and then it begins to seem more of a party scene. Anyway overall this place is what it is, an o.k. reasurant good for some Apps and drinks and hanging out after work. I would not want to visit this place on weekends.

Food excellent, seafood soup delicious, and good customer service , only one bad thing is a night time, they smoke the huka

I'm there for the golden margaritas! In all seriousness this review solely reflect that beverage and the service as I only had that drink. The golden margaritas are well priced and very strong, my friends and I are large people and aren't lightweights by any metric. Two of these golden margaritas will get you done.

My family and I welcomed the new year 2024 at Montezuma Mexica Restaurant. The ambiance was great. Eddy Carr entertained the night with his own repertoire of great romantic songs as well as dancing songs. We therefore, thank the owners and its staff for making the New Year 2024 a memorable one.!

Happy Hour after work Thursday with a fellow co-worker was chilling time. We both desired cold drinks since it was a hot day. Service is mediocre as it was difficult to flag a waitress or hostess to be seated. We preferred to be seated at a table- not at the bar. Boisterously loud music is blaring in the background. This business was rather empty on a Thursday night. The server check-in on us inquiring our drink names and how we were enjoying ourselves. I did not request for a second serving, but low and behold minutes later arrived a second Raspberry Peach Margarita for me but I refused and returned it. No comment on food as we did not ordered any. Raspberry Peach Margarita $6.25 It was very white foamy appearance, not a pure red color. I tasted mostly foam. Frozen Margarita $5.00 This drink was refreshing which I should have ordered without any flavoring. My co-worker enjoyed it very much.

Just ordered food for delivery!!! Quick and everything was made to PERFECTION!!! The most delicious Mexican food I've had in the entire Bronx!!! A must go!!!

Tony from the Bronx here . Let's talk about Montezuma Mexican Restaurant on Kingsbridge Ave Bronx. I've going there on and off their since 1989. It's kinda small then they expanded then went back to the original set up. I missed the cave like atmosphere. The food is good. The problem I really have with them is the Hook-a. And the customers get stupid and they are young . Either send that hookah crap in a separate room . Or do away with it. Big turn off when young kid see this . My teen daughter thought they were smoking weed. SMH.... it changed for the worse.

Uber eats delivered , it was great and the lobster were very big , amazing portion. The king crabmeat nachos were good but not crispy . The tostones were fresh and good and the side salad was good and fresh.

First time for me here, the place is ok. They even have live music on weekends the food was ok. My only problem with this place is that they allow people to smoke hookah when they are plenty of family with kids around. I am not sure I will be coming here again because I have a daughter and she is asthmatic if I will be the owner of this place I will make a separate close-room for people who wants to kill themself smoking that crap.. besides that not too bad to spend some time with friends and family..

Couldn't have asked for a better"fresh" Tex mex meal and good -good pomegranate martinis, and ice cold Corona than what we shared and had at Montezumas in the Bronx. It was my first time at establishment, but definitely won't be my last. Matter of fact can't wait to go back! And it was EXTREMELY affordable. Best of all also..... there were leftovers with the next day fulfilled my hunger and appetite. So what ya waiting for and just GO! Angel :) Merry Christmas

Met up with friends at this location and was pleasantly surprised by the service, drinks food and overall experience. Despite the nightmare parking situation, it seems to be well frequented. It was crowded as any neighborhood bar should be on a Friday evening. Drinks came fast, and the server was accommodating. For the most part, my tablemates seemed ok with their food definitely nothing special. Montezumba seems to be a place for drinks and laughs with friends and I'm good with that.

Well, I was certainly pleasantly surprised when I visited this place. The Ambiance, the food, the cocktails (WOOHOO!!!), the service, the music... everything was fantastic! The only reason it didn't give them 5 stars was because the Mole was not traditional. It was very good but not traditional. I can't wait to explore more drinks and more of the food.

Unfortunately I went here last night with my family and we had the most unpleasant experience ever. Not only was my churrasco bland but the place was too dark, unfortunately that wasn't the worst part. We were seated next to the DJ so it was loud and hard for us to hear. That is still not the worst part, the DJ staff kept smoking hookah literally next to our baby we had to complaint various times before we asked for the manager, they stopped smoking only momentarily before continuing to start smoking again up until we left the restaurant. The staff had absolutely no respect for us or our baby.

I always stop by for their happy hour. The bartenders are super friendly and attentive. I love their frozen passion fruit margarita and their veggie burrito. My fiancé loves their steak quesadillas. Fun, affordable, and tasty! Must try if you are in the neighborhood.

This is my favorite place for drinks, food, live music and hookah. Service is good, food is good, drinks are good. The music is a little bit to loud, I think they should get a new sound system. I like the place because they don't rush you.(of course if you are consuming) I like the live music

August 27 2020 as my boyfriend and I went out for late lunch we order guacamole chip and drinks we Experience the most horrible moment we found a roach rapped in hair after years being a loyal customer there respond was how can we make it better and give your a replacement plate how insulting this can be who would want to continue to eat anything now this is a frustration this has us With no desire to eat everything give us nausea so for this now we have to be extra careful when eating out which will be something we won't be doing !

Food was edible but never very tasty. Service should of been better since we arrived early and the place was pretty empty considering. Asked to add onions to an order that wasn't done. Had to almost tackle the waiter for assistance. I also do not like having to ask for water. I consider water a bare minimum. My wife and her family frequent here often. I'm hoping this was an isolated experience.

Ive been going to this spot since i can remember the stuffed clams with cab meat is to die for and the churrasco never fails not to mention the quesadillas is a good "safe" plate to have! The only reason i Don't give this spot a 5 is that i've never seen an upgrade on the restaurant itself

Service, food and the drinks have now become subpar but I guess because they are the 2nd decent spot in walking distance so goes the BX lol they stay busy. I miss the consistency of great Mexican fusion and what use to be amazing frozen Mojitos.

the food was great, good quantity and quality, service was amazing as well; the waiter kept coming to check on us if we need anything and refilling our drinks. the environment was more of a party scene as we went at close to 12-1 am so the music was loud but overall i would definitely come back just at an earlier time. they also have valet parking for like $20 so

Not a bad spot , food all right , good , drink was great the salmon was a lil over cook , calamari was also not bad. Atmosphere was great but at the end food was not bad drinks was good , I'll try again see if I can get the feel people tell me. Oh almost forgot clams was good

I've come to this restaurant a few times now. The food is pleasantly delicious, and I've always enjoyed my meals. They have a decent happy hour. Be warned, the drinks are very strong. Service can be a bit iffy - the most recent time I was here, our order wasn't taken for about 20 minutes and the wait time for food was a bit long (probably a half hour or more). Also if you have sensitive hearing, try to avoid sitting towards the back of the restaurant. We were sat next to the speakers and they were obnoxiously loud.

Montezuma, a well known Mexican restaurant in the Kingsbridge area of the Bronx! I can see why...because I rarely find good mexican restaurants in this borough. In all my experience, Montezuma has he BEST salsa I've ever tasted. The acidity and spice is very refreshing. It's really good. FREE with a basket of tortilla chips. The guacamole looked hardy, chunky yet creamy. The taste was soft and smooth. Also good for $5.95. I ordered the burrito and tamale combo which comes with rice and refried beans. I was a lil disappointed with the burrito even though the beef was nicely seasoned and saucy. I was expecting more not only in size but also in ingredients. The tamale also had subtle flavor, a little bit dry though. Rice and beans are decent. $9.99 Mango frozen margarita. Delicious. They really hook up their mixed drinks. $9.00 Pros: Good drinks Good salsa A lot of food Fast friendly service Good music Close to 4/D trains Cons: Parking is hell to find Bit pricy for Mexican food. I always order Uber eats. Tonight I went in to put in an order to go and the wait was UNREAL. Over an hour waiting. While the food is great the service tonight was disgraceful. If you cannot handle take out orders DO NOT TAKE THEM. The cashier was nice but all the other waitresses acted clueless as to who the manager was when I asked. Learn how to run your business.

So I went here for lunch while in the Bronx for work. One of the Scientist i work with loves this place and has been raving that a co-worker and I needed to try it. He was right! The place had a very impressive bar with the exception of a lack of taps. The lunch specials were only $5! I had the tamale and I was very content. We also got salsa and chips for the table, a very nice touch espcially for the price. I would 100% come back here the next time I'm in the area for work.

Next time you go to Montezuma make sure don't ask for glass of water, because you will be surprised what you can find. My wife and I when there to have dinner and a couple of drinks as that's one of our favorite local bars. We have a great time but after I asked for another glass of water and I noticed something inside my glass and I used my phone light to see what it was and there was a bug (cockroach) on my glass of water and I told one of the bartenders and he really didn't care that much as he just said oh ok ! and changed the glass of water. Unbelievable but so true!

Went April 9th around 7pm Eliana was our server, very niceee. Had the burritoCarb steak .enjoyed every bite;) mojito mango was very good. They have happy hour from 3-8pm. Sunday brunch from 11:30-4pm. Mandatory 15% tip included for 5or more ppl. Maggy is also a great team player.

Came here after work for a drink......Angie made a slamming coconut margarita on the rocks....service was quick at the bar....bathroom is very clean....Latin music plays in the background. Large screen is in the back of the restaurant .... I don't like the dim lighting tho. If your having a drink by your lonesome you won't feel out of place. People are friendly. It's a nice place to woohsah.......after a stressful day at work. Happy Hour drinks are from 3-8.....,, drinks range between 5-7 dollars.

Subpar in every way. From the drinks to the esthetic to the food. If they just tried to step it in a small way it would go a long way. The services was pretty terrible too.

Delicious food, but cold beans, not offered steak sauce or chimichurri sauce unless asked for, a little too dark in certain tables, I wasn't the only one using my cellphone light to read the menu, and I didn't know a 15% tip was included in a meal for two people? Server Marco was great but I had no cash to leave him the difference of the 30% tip I usually leave (I'm a former waiter at a different restaurant so I know how important being rewarded for good service is although 20-25% is usually sufficient.) I never bothered to tell him about the cold beans because I was famished to no end and he certainly can't do anything about the lighting the owners have installed.

I went to this restaurant last night with my husband, we were not able to talk because the music was to loud but I was looking for something like that, well the Mexican food was not good the steak was yummy, the famous strawberry margaritas barely have tequila, I drank 5 like nothing another women next table was complaining about the lack of tequila on it. Food it's quite expensive, my chips never arrived until I asked for it. The ambiance its good for like a partyishh night. I will recommend this place for hang out and listening to music while drinking.

Stopped in here because a friend of mine told me it was a cool spot with great drinks and good food. I beg to defer. My friend and I went for happy hour yesterday and I was highly disgusted and disappointed in the service. The bartender was coy, never offered us menus and stood there like we didn't belong in the establishment to begin with. There were two others sitting right next to us and she treated them the same way. The other lady asked for a menu, I didn't because at that point I already knew I wasn't ordering anything else apart from the margarita my friend already ordered. Once we drank our weak margaritas we asked for the check and do you believe she had the balls to say "After only one round" I was like are you serious. I will not be back.

I've only been here 1x in the evening. It was 4 of us in my party, we had reservations for 8 pm and still had to wait an hr. So we got seated at 9 pm. It was crowded and there was too many people. I know if the Fire department came in they've would of gotten a summon for over crowding. The staff are okay they've seemed bothered. So when we get seated we waited another 15 minutes for a waiter to come to us, we just order water with lemon. Mind you we had no menus nor did she. She said she was going to bring us a menu but never did. The water was given to us 5 minutes later n the menu we got it from the bar!! The food thankfully was good and the wait wasn't so bad 25minutes it took. The drinks to me were water down. I suggest for the owner of this establishment not to have so many people at one time. Therefore the staff wouldn't be such in bitchy mood!! I will try this place again because the food was good but I will come in earlier next time.

the best thing about this place is the extensive drink menu.... drinks are awesome.... the food is blah. I expected much better. the service sucked.. or maybe it was just my waiter that was horrible. I ordered the chicken fajitas w the rice n beans... pretty standard stuff.. idk why they sauteed the food in tomato sauce... then my waiter forgot to give me the tortillas.... by the time I finally got them my food was cold... it's been years since I been to montezumas... I remember why I dont go there

I have been coming here for years as I enjoyed their happy hour drinks and food, but lately I have noticed their drinks are mediocre at best. The Montezuma Sunrise doesn't taste the same anymore and forget about the flavored margaritas. You can barely taste the fruit flavor. It's so unfortunate because I really like this place. I also noticed they have hookah and that really turned me off. I don't want to have a meal while someone is literally blowing smoke my way while I'm eating. And the music blares so loud you can barely hear yourself think. Forget about having a conversation with your date. As of late, this establishment is catering to a more younger, uncivilized crowd, and it shows.

One of the guys at the front desk in Soho recommended this place so we went there for lunch started to drink a beer then we heard a lady scream on the side of us they were mice running around the bartender acted like it was no big deal and still made the women pay for their food so my family and I paid for drinks and left very sad we were looking forward to eating a good meal since it was highly recommended so if you don't like mice running around your feet And into the DJ speaker I would not recommend this place very gross the employees act like it was no big deal

Rude hostess that does not bother to help out her customers. Extremly slow service. Dull horrible staff. I'm being straight foward and straight to the point. Better luck eating at Little Caesars next door! Dont waist your money here. Go to the real heights and expierence great Dominican music and food!

Came here for happy hour which is from 4-8 and the happy hour special was half of all drinks (except for first page of the menu). The frozen margaritas were strong and good and were $5. I also got the express nachos which were yummy but not on the happy hour menu.

I haven't been to this spot in awhile but it's still a pretty cool spot for date night. Food is great, had the Shrimp Quesadilla and something called Antojitos which was good too. Hookah is pretty expensive ($35) considering the location and dude only takes cash, also be aware that people smoke hookah anywhere so hope that doesn't bother you lol. Drinks were pretty decent and they have a live singer performing latin music.

Food was really good! Service was below mediocre Food runners were on point with serving water asking if we needed anything 4/30 pm shift ... Not once did our waitress come to ask if everything was okay. I mean... Hellerrrr I needed another cocktail.... Bill could have been higher... But whatever. 2 minutes or 2 bites check on your table

Had the Enchilada Suiza. Very tasty, probably the best enchiladas I've had in a long time.

I have been coming here for years and it was a ok place, happy hour was good, food decent. Came in on Sunday around 7:30 8 and the music was sooo loud that I might as well has gone to a club. Restaurants are to eat and have conversations.. that was impossible to do here, all we were able to do is sit and stare at each other and let's not talk about how dark it was.. it was hard to see the menu.. Food have become over priced in a place were you cant even have a conversation or see what you are eating. Not coming back ever again. It was not enjoyable at all.
