I could immediately tell why this place is so popular. Its deep history speaks for itself. I loved to sat by the window that I could see a calm and beautiful view of the Ohio River in Cincinnati made the atmosphere truly special. The food was incredible. The portions were generous, and the meat was so tender and juicy, honestly the best meal I’ve had recently. Since it was my first time visiting during a trip, I almost over-ordered, but thanks to our server’s thoughtful recommendations, we had the perfect amount and got to try a variety of dishes. I was deeply moved by the server’s kindness and professional, gentle manners. They truly looked after every detail. I will definitely return when I’m back in Ohio and will be recommending this spot to all my friends! I hope this restaurant continues to provide such special experiences for a long time to come.

Attended a birthday celebration with a party of 20. Service was top notch. Food was delivered fast with no mistakes at all. Every one enjoyed their dish. It's been awhile since I've eaten there but will definitely make a return trip. Fish, chicken, ribs was ordered and it all was delish. Oh, and the river view, stunning, especially at nite with the lights glimmering on the water and lights in Kentucky.

Fabulous! Food scrumptious! The view of the Ohio River was magnificent! We dined outside on the balcony celebrating a 75th birthday! We had a wonderful time and was not rushed at all. Nice and relaxing evening for the 4 of us. You can dress up or come as you are!

I had a Daughter Dad day. I spent the day with my daughter went here for dinner. Great service food and atmosphere. Plus a river view. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location overlooking the Ohio River that was very icy at the time. If you love ribs, this is a Cincinnati tradition. If you don't love ribs, you may be sorry you came and you will leave with a much lighter wallet. On the day we were here, there were several large groups, so that may have affected the quality of the food. I ordered BBQ pulled chicken and Saratoga chips. The chicken tasted like it came from the freezer section at Sam's Club and the chips were flabby. Definitely not what I remember when I used to bring clients here. The service was good and the views were awesome, but the food was mediocre at best.

Enjoying a Cincinnati tradition with friendly staff made for a delightful and memorable evening at the Montgomery Inn Boathouse. The boathouse offers a relaxing atmosphere with spectacular views of the Ohio River. We started with Gulf Shrimp Cantonese, served with hot mustard and plum sauce, followed by tender ribs cooked to perfection, accompanied by crispy Saratoga chips. Overall, it was a great experience.

The food, service, and view was outstanding along the river. Montgomery Inn is a Cincinnati institution and this experience lived up. The pork chops were out of this world.

Never had such moist, tender brisket!!! It was AMAZING. The carrot cake and key lime pie were out of this world. Gorgeous weather and view of the river. Wonderful place for a date night.

Had a great Friday night dinner here to kick off a weekend in Cincinnati. I used the Reserve a Table link on their website a week or two earlier to book a time. The view of the river is great. We were seated in the main dining area that sits above the River. Loved checking out the sports memorabilia in the large display cases when you walk in. Also saw lots of folks with kids so bring the family! Our server was prompt, friendly and gave great recommendations. We started out with some Saratoga Chips - Our saratoga chips are hand-cut daily from the finest grade jumbo Idaho potatoes. They were served with their Onion straws and BBQ Sauce. Nothing crazy special about the chips app, but we enjoyed it. For Dinner I had their "Create your own Combo" - choose any 2 items - ribs, chicken, shrimp and pork chop $33.99. I went with a Half Slab of their famous ribs and added Brisket. (The Brisket is a limited quantity each day and the server mentioned I could add it to the combo) The ribs were fall off the bone and decent flavor wise. The sauce is pretty good if you like sweet and tangy. I like a taste of molasses in mine and it had it. The rib meat itself was ok, but the two large slices of brisket in my opinion were better. You could taste some wood and light smoke in the meat. My pic might show them to be a bit dry, but they were pretty juicy, thick and a large portion. My side was coleslaw in a creamy horseradish sauce. I was stuffed from the meat, but I can say if you enjoy horseradish and don't mind coleslaw, go for it. My friend ordered the Ribs and BBQ Spring Chicken Combo. He loved how the chicken was moist and fall off the bone. He agreed the ribs weren't "knock your socks off", but were above average. My son ordered the Pork Chop - Extra thick, hand-cut, hand-spiced pork chops. Served on a bed of onion straws at $21.99 He tore it up and reported it to be juicy and delicious. Drink wise they had a small list of local brews on draft and bottle, seltzers, white, red and sparkling wines by the glass and bottle. We ate well, were well taken care of by the staff and enjoyed the wonderful view of the sun setting along the Ohio River. Aside from a good meal, my sons favorite part was when our server tied plastic bibs on each of us before our dinner arrived. We kept them as a souvenir from our trip. Afterwards we checked out their cigar offering and small retail area. I bought a couple bottles of their BBQ Sauce pretty cheap. From there you can walk on the river trail and enjoy a nice stroll! In Cincy for just a few hours and wanted a spot with a view! It delivers on view, and its casual atmosphere is easy for families or big groups. The bbq is good, the ribs were fall off the bone. The chicken was too! Moist and a good flavor! Service was attentive and nice, along with speedy which I love!!

We went on New Year's Eve and totally regret it. Our server was very just no personality. She was busy I'm sure but whatever....I ordered the ribs and they were not good. Very dry, sauce poured on after they were cooked. Wife had ribs and chicken, which she said the chicken was good. We wont be going back anytime soon.

Be Ambience, is always beautiful at the boathouse. It was a fabulous experience from making the reservation to pay the bill. I called ahead and I spoke with Tyler and Todd. They helped me pick out appetizers to be available at the table for my guest. We were sat on and the appetizers came out piping hot, and they were absolutely delicious. We had straw and chips , shrimp cocktails and they made me a requested veggie plate. The table orders, salmon, ribs, brisket, rib eye , Mac n cheese, baked potatoes and sandwich. Needless to say the food was excellent and always played it love. Our server was Jamie, extremely attentive. I brought own desserts and they plated it beautiful for the table. Ty Boathouse

Awesome customer service. We visited on a Friday night about an hour before closing. Our food was served fresh. We got good service professional, friendly fast. Establishment is a place to host parties six people or more family friendly. There was two people in my party. Great date night restaurant. The view is awesome. Street parking and private parking. Two floors, first floor, accommodate large parties or small parties. The top floor has a deck area and a full bar with televisions. I would recommend to try I will visit again and try other items on the menu. the food was delicious. The servings were moderate size enough for two people to share a rack of ribs and chips. Very nostalgic the decor is sports. There's also a gift shop, the gift shop has cigars, wine, and privately own items for sale.

Great food great service great view. Enjoyed my dinner here and to see all the memorabilia from rowing to football to boxing to car racing and baseball. A must go to when visiting Cincinnati . Don't miss out on the graters ice cream too. Nothing you have ever tasted. Parking is easy!! Make reservations. Trust!

If you have a bunch of free time and you want a great view and a basic beer this could be the spot. But if you want good service and good food you might keep searching. We had a reservation for a large group. Everyone has arrived accept for one member of our party and they refused to seat us. Once seated, we received water pretty quickly. I would suggest knowing what you want to order and order it as soon as you are seated. When we finally received our food everyone was underwhelmed. I will say the salmon was flavorful! For $26 it was a flavorful cut but the green beans were very rubbery. My baked potato had for sure been sitting out most of the day. For the price, move on. For the view, stop by.

When in Cincinnati ... Think about a view! Think twice! Yep that this place! Amazing view of the Ohio River, decor is super cool, you can't stop looking at the walls. Service is top 10, I didn't eat myself yet my boyfriend said the ribs are to die for, and save place for homemade desserts they are delicious so I heard!Definitely coming back soon! One more thing they have a super cool upstairs bar!

I'd heard that Montgomery Inn's ribs were a Cincinnati special so I was so glad I finally got to try them myself. We ordered a full rack of ribs with coleslaw and the BBQ Pork Loaded Nachos - so much food! Everything was delicious. Beside the tender fall-off-the-bone ribs, the coleslaw was surprisingly good! It had a hint of horseradish, which was a welcome twang with the heavy savory ribs. After dinner, we headed upstairs and hung out on their outdoor porch for a nice view of the river. I hope to come back and relax with some beer another day.

Took my son to the legendary Montgomery Inn Boathouse last night. I made a reservation at 6:30 and wasn't sat until 7:30. The table we received was in front of a space heater outside with a view of the tarp hanging. It was incredibly hot and uncomfortable and had to ask to sit at the bar. The food and service was average at best; certainly worse than I was expecting after waiting to be sat for an hour. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to any of my friends or family.

Service was great - the hostesses were nice and our waitress was funny and very helpful in regards to any food questions! She even pointed out the sizes of certain meals so we had a better idea of which meat entrees to order. Within our group of 6, the food experience was mixed. We split the pulled pork nachos as an app, the flavor was okay but the texture of the pulled pork was very soggy. I ordered the grilled fish special with green beans and French fries. The fish was fine, the fries were good, but the green beans were over cooked. Some members in my group ordered the brisket and ribs; they loved the ribs but said the brisket was not good, it was much too dry. Another member of our group ordered the burger and was happy with it! So overall, the food wasn't bad but we did have a handful of disappointments.

Food was great the view at this restaurant is absolutely stunning. We sat outside on the balcony thing and it was so beautiful. The view of the river was great. The staff were so kind and friendly they make you feel so at home. We came here before heading to a junior senior dance for our university so we were a little dressed up but still had a great time. The valet staff was so amazing we wanted to walk through the park after dinner but had leftovers and I asked the valet team if someone could run the food to our car for us and they did. They were so kind and amazing. I actually proposed in the park next to the restaurant after dinner that's why I wanted to go for a walk through the park after. But anyway I can't it recommend this place enough they are so amazing and did a wonderful job in every aspect

We decided to have an early dinner at Montgomery Inn, to enjoy the scenic views and savor their renowned ribs with scrumptious sauce. Upon arrival, we discovered that the parking lot only offered valet service for $5.00. Opting for street parking, we made our way inside and were promptly seated. The food arrived swiftly, and we dug in before capturing any photos. After finishing our meal, we accidentally left our leftovers at the table. When we returned 15 minutes later, the leftovers were gone. Fortunately, Todd, a member of the Montgomery Inn team, promptly arranged a new order of ribs for us to enjoy the next day. The impeccable service and picturesque setting made our experience truly fantastic. If you haven't been, I highly recommend trying their fall-off-the-bone, moist ribs with their signature sauce!

My family and I were really looking forward to eating at Montgomery Inn-The Boathouse due to the reviews and recommendations we got. My family had a pretty good experience but i am torn as to whether this place deserved a 3 or 4 stars as there were a lot of aspects of being here we liked and some we definitely did not like. Firstly, the restaurant offers valet parking, which is a big perk. The restaurant is also located next to the Ohio River and the restaurant gives you the option of either eating inside or at their covered heated patio. Both places have their perks. The inside area is decorated like a typical sports bar and has live music. The outdoor area gives you the river-view and you need not be concerned with the weather as it is covered and heated, heated to the point that even in 40 degree weather, I was feeling very toasty. The service is also excellent. My family had plans and we were concerned we would not make them. We got our food very quickly and were able to make it on time to the Cincinnati observatory. The food was hit or miss. My brother enjoyed his wagyu burger and fries. I am on the fence with my meal. I ordered a select two meal of a pork chop and Gulf Shrimp Cantonese. I liked the pork chop, i disliked the shrimp. Moreover, the damsun plum and hot mustard sauce lacked heat, especially after I was warned it was spicy. My mom hated her ribs. I actually tried some and they did not taste right at all. We didn't make a fuss because we needed to get to the observatory. Food aside, we did enjoy having a drink and looking out to the river, great view. Would I come back? Probably not.

We came to Cincinnati on a weekend trip and wanted to try Montgomery Inn on the river. This restaurant seems older, but still has a nice ambience. We sat outside on the balcony area. Our kids enjoyed the view of the river, and as the sun was going down they turned on the outdoor heaters. The outdoor heaters provided a nice bit of warmth for the chilly fall night! The service was so so. Our waiter had tables inside and outside so I truly do not fault him since he was very busy. My soda was flat, and the onion straws appetizer had a good crispy skin but lacked flavor. The kids meals were a great value and inexpensive. My son really enjoyed his grilled cheese. My husbands ribs did not look appetizing. The meat was not fall off the bone and he said the sauce was cold. I had the Wagyu burger. The bun was stale and the burger tasted like it came frozen. I told my husband I would have rather had a Steak and Shake or Freddy's burger (fast food). There is a large parking lot next to the restaurant but it was valet only. We had to walk a good bit to get to the entrance. For the taste and price of the food, I enjoyed our fast food meal the next day much more.

It's been a while since we ate here. My 97 year old uncle and aunt was in town visiting. They were looking for a place to eat so we made reservations here because of the view of the river I was leery because of recent reviews but I decided to order the king ribs and a sweet potato. I was pleased with my decision, I must admit the end pieces of the ribs were a little crispy but I'm not a pit master. The ribs easily pulled off the bones and the sauce was alright. I didn't expect any more or any less. Our server,Elizabeth M worked really hard keeping up with 9 of us. She was very helpful and attentive.

Montgomery Inn on the Ohio River in Cincinnati is so good! The brisket is incredible. Great views of the river too. Will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.

When I think regional ribs: usually St. Louis or perhaps a BBQ city like KC would come to mind. However on a trip to the Queen City, the Montgomery Inn and their ribs appeared to be a local legend. I stopped by to try them at The Boathouse on a Tuesday night. The vibes feel local: downstairs there's regular seating and upstairs there is a bar. Also upstairs is a covered patio looking out onto the river. First floor and patio you have to get reservations or walk up with the hostess, bar is first come first served and you order through the bar. I sat at a table at the bar area and the joint was filled with local sports photos and memorabilia. The service was fast and friendly (it was a pretty quiet Tuesday.) I got a full slab of ribs with a side of broccoli. The ribs were good, tender but not the most tender I have experienced. Not fall of the bone immediately but were easily tackled with a knife and fork with minimum mess. They are well complemented with a sweet, tomato-y BBQ sauce. Overall Montgomery Inn offers a unique local experience with great views and good food. Definitely a list item for anyone visiting Cincinnati. It's a great change up from all that Chili too. Pro Tip: Valet parking is mandatory, you can pay it on your bill with your meal.

Valet only $4 so we parked in the street. Decor and sport memorabilia very nice and interesting. Had the select 2, Ribs and chicken very well cooked the meat fell off the bones. Staff was friendly the food took a bit to come and bringing the beer took a bit. It was very busy. The saratoga chips were very good. Sat outside and weather was nice.

Went a couple months ago with family as they had never been and Montgomery Inn feels like a Cincinnati-y type of thing to do when you're in town. Ambiance is fine. Server was pleasant and attentive. Meals were generously sized. If you don't love bbq sauce slathered thickly on your ribs, ask for it on the side. Most of our table ended up scraping off a lot of the sauce b/c it was a bit excessive & super sweet. Do love that they took the high fructose corn syrup out of it - thank u! Had ribs, brisket, pulled chicken, loaded baked potatoes. The brisket wasn't very good, but the others were okay. Not as good as they should be for being an iconic restaurant, but it was alright. Also, parking is valet only, but we were able to park across the main road on the other side of the street. Would recommend the original location if you're looking to do Montgomery Inn and definitely make a reservation.

Seated quickly and had excellent and attentive service. The shrimp were crispy with a light breading and the ribs are always a hit.

A friend recommended the Montgomery Inn - The Boathouse when a group of us were visiting Cincinnati from out of town. The location is fantastic - the river view can't be beat. The atmosphere is very much casual restaurant combined with sports bar, not fancy. There's a ton of sports memorabilia, along with the obligatory signed celebrity photos on the walls. The service was fast and friendly - nice greeters & servers. We had the ribs and sides. The food was Ok. Not bad, but not this is not: "so good I'm blown-away" and at $35 for a full slab... I'd go back next time I'm in-town, but for the view and the sports bar environment.

The location is fantastic and food even better. Have always enjoyed going when we lived in Cincinnati and still make it a routine when we come back for Zinzinnati Oktoberfest.

This place is great! This was our first stop in Cincinnati, straight from the airport. This place is right on the water with a wonderful view of the Ohio river and Kentucky on the other side. Get the ribs! They are saucy and delicious. They come in a huge slab. When they offer you a bib, accept it. You're gonna get messy! Make a reservation. This place is fantastic, so they get super busy.

Been to the Boat House many times over past decades, and this place is still going strong. Still a great feel and ambiance when walking in. My most recent visit was to the upstairs bar for happy hour on a Friday afternoon. I was greeted with an experienced bar tender and was offered a beer even before the 4pm opening time. I advised there would be 13 more coming and she made it possible for us to all have an area in the heated balcony outside. I didn't expect much on such short notice but they made it happen. Our little get together with drinks and food was amazing and memorable. My recent experience put the Boat House back on my radar for another planned dinner. Food was great, service was top notch and overall excellent experience!

We just visited for my mothers-in-law birthday and had a wonderful dinner. The Saratoga chips for an appetizer were delicious. We had ribs, and also the halibut special. Both were excellent. The Chocolate Volcano dessert was a large portion and came with Graeter's ice cream, what a treat! Our server Stephen was very attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Great service! The entire staff was welcoming and pleasant.

We added this place to our list to do when we visited Cincinnati. I was very disappointed on our experience. We had a reservation and we were told we had to wait 15-20 mins. There was a lot of people waiting in the hall and from the looks of it, they wanted to satisfy the group with the most people. The food was alright. The view was beautiful.

You don't have to be from Cincinnati to know that the Montgomery Inn - The Boathouse is almost a "historic" landmark and it is definitely a throwback to a different time when Johnny Bench and Pete Rose were King. For those of us who grew up here, we'll never forget that they were Bob Hope's favorite ribs having them shipped to him in California before shipping food was even a thing. Personally, I do believe there are better BBQ sauces in Cincinnati these days. You find small local BBQ joints on almost every corner, but Montgomery Inn still serves up great food, and quite frankly they have some of the best homemade salad dressings in the city. We recently dropped in for dinner after attending an afternoon event at the Heritage Bank Arena. We were seated immediately and our server Jordan was excellent! And we all really enjoyed our food. The weather was warm for December and their porch overlooking the Ohio River was open so we opted to sit outside for dinner. Now why I only gave them 3 stars...they are so old school that they still allow people to smoke on the porch. Although there is a plastic "wall" you can still smell the smoke and there are tables right next to the wall. Our server did offer to move us inside when she noticed the smell herself, but we decided we would rather enjoy the nice weather. If you are looking for old-school charm you will find it and you can definitely picture the old-school Cincinnati greats smoking cigars and eating ribs, but you should also know that this is not the place for a vegan or a vegetarian.

Ribs were just okay. Will have to try something else. Like a steak. Enjoyed the boiled Shrimp it was fresh and tasted great!

You can't get much more Cincinnati than going to The Boathouse for dinner. The atmosphere here is great and so is the food. The loaded nachos seemed a bit weird since they use Saratoga chips, but they were actually really good. You can't go wrong with pulled pork or brisket. It's all really good! If the weather is nice, you should for sure sit outside and look at the sweeping views of the river. It's more Cincinnati than a Flying Pig riding a Cheese Coney over a steaming plate of goetta!

I have always loved ribs. So when the invitation came to join a group of friends for a "farewell" luncheon at the boathouse, I was quite excited. I hadn't been to Montgomery Inn for quite some time so was welcoming the ribfest to stick to my own ribs : ) I was surprised on my arrival into the lot, that they only allow valet parking and the only free parking was along the street. Not a huge deal, but was a little surprised because there's typically the option to just park a little further away in their parking lot if you choose not to valet. Wait time for the reservation was minimal and we were all seated and attended to once seated. I ordered the 2-course dinner meal that came with the Rib King salad and a slab of ribs with a side of broccoli. I was disappointed to find that the ribs were dry. Everything else tasted fine, but when your establishment is known for their ribs, it's kind of a bummer. I was too hungry to send them back so I went ahead and made the best of it. This won't deter me from coming back, but I was just a little disappointed with the rib experience.

The baked potato had sweet potato mush on the sides... the chicken was burnt... not worth $5 yet it was a $30 meal... so many better options in the city... this place has fallen off.

We went last night and omg what has happened to this place? I used to love coming here as a child but I must say the food was very underwhelming. The ribs tasted burnt and our waiter didn't seem to care at all.

Having respect for locations that are sort of upper crust and provide a view and good ambience in addition to good food, I understand the appeal of the Montgomery Inn. It's sort of well known locally that ballplayers will come over after games at Great American Ballpark to eat there (although the maitre'd said they typically hide them in a secluded area so fans can't see or interact with them). I'd heard people rave about the food. So I went. I don't want to say I was woefully disappointed, but this was not a very good experience. It's a nice enough place, but the only parking is valet, which adds to the price. It was a very overcast, cool, rainy day, so the view of the Ohio River from the upstairs room wasn't all that great. The service was ok. I guess my big beef is that I really enjoy BBQ, and this just wasn't all that good. I eat at various BBQ places near where I live, and I've had it in Memphis, St. Louis, and throughout Texas. So I know what real BBQ is. This was good - the rib meat tasted fresh. But honestly the ribs, the sauce, the macaroni and cheese on the side, the iced tea, it was all just ok. And the rib platter was an entree priced at $27.99, and that's not for a full slab. So I will probably never eat here again. That's a ridiculous price for fairly mediocre ribs. I'd rather find a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, have the real deal, and probably spend 25% less on the check.

What has happened to Montgomery Inn? We were there on Saturday evening 5/11/24 and everything about it was mediocre at best. There is no attempt to plate food in a visually appealing way. The shrimp appetizer looked like five shrimp tossed on a plate and rushed out. The kitchen staff was bringing out trays of food that would just sit waiting for the server to place them on the tables. The family sitting next to us got their own food off of the trays because it sat for so long and people were walking around it. This used to be a must visit restaurant but now it's just a sad shell of what it used to be. The view is always great but you can see the restaurants on the other side of the river that will continue to get our business. I didn't take any photos because nothing was photo worthy.

Late evening dinner. Ate at the upstairs bar. By myself. Was left there for quite awhile before I finally asked if there was food service. Had to ask three times for a diet coke. The ribs. The full slab is only a few bucks more than the half. Maybe because it was late. The ribs were steamed or something. It was like pulled pork with bones. Kinda greasy. The sauce was cold on top. I ordered a salad first and it arrived about 30 seconds before the ribs. Ranch was tasty. I took the leftovers to the hotel and tossed them the next day. $40 gone. The highlight was the onion straws. Hot. Crispy. Full of flavor. I smoke my own ribs so it's rare when I order them. I probably will not return. Sorry. Expected more.

Born and raised Cincinnati east side, it used to be such a treat to come here. Went here for a special occasion and nobody could have given less of a crap. Over priced alcohol, room temp ribs that were precooked, more like a cafeteria than a restaurant, "ready to order" was the only thing we heard, hot hello, or my name is fr who just wants a tip. Pretty much an Arby's with beer. Skip, don't do it, even the jerseys are outdated, obviously the kids are to lazy to run the restaraunt the way it should be and are just milking the cash cow for all it's worth.

Great bar staff excellent food and service, not sure why the charge $150-00 for my Barbecue Sauce per bottle for example when you order Wings with barbecue at 16-00 per plate why would you offer to pay $5-00 more for 1 oz of barbecue space cannot imagine how that works when menu says Barbecue Wings so at $1-00 per OZ that's crazy can you imagine if I wanted more and more dressing on my Dry wings Crazy not impressed so a simple salad and a couple of wings plus glass of water plus tip $55-00 no I'm not kidding at all SIANARA good bye not again totally unacceptable

The waiter was nice, the steak had char on the ends and was well done and still purple in the middle (ordered medium rare). So dry it was hard to finish. The ribs were horrible, you had to chew them off the bone and it was like they didn't cook long enough. When we were leaving I caught a snide comment coming from what looked like a manager. I'd be angry too if I was selling overpriced poorly prepared food.

This really is a nice place! Been here years ago, and If it weren't so costly, I would probably come back more often. Earlier in the morning, I got reservations for 8:00 PM. That's how fast the whole place can book up! We had a great dinner with salmon and ribs and all of the fun stuff in between. Great mac and cheese, great Saratoga chips, and great profiteroles for dessert. we very much enjoyed views of the Ohio River and Tiffany was our server. She was amazing! definitely worth having as a server. I gave her about a 25% tip because I would just so pleased. We plan to come back more often, but it is a bit pricey, just to know. Let me start by saying the view is spectacular. The room is like a "C" shape and there is a wall of windows. Beautiful view of the river Our server was nice and efficient. We ordered the pulled pork nachos as an appetizer. They were delicious. Granddaughter had chicken fingers w a baked potato (nice option for a side for a child! She was so happy) I ordered the pulled pork bbq sandwich. It was very good. I choose a baked potato as my side too. Everything was yummy Hubs ordered the smoked chicken bbq sandwich with Mac and cheese - delicious!! He even got a bib!

Family dinner for 10 this past Friday. We arrived about 30 minutes early to enjoy a few drinks upstairs at the bar. We were happy to find out there was live music. He was great, did acoustic covers of popular songs. The drinks were great. They had a variety of draft local beers. We had a mix of cocktails and beer. Right at 6:30 we were told our table was ready (right on time) and we were lead back downstairs. Our server greeted us quickly, got us another round and we ordered appetizers. A few onion straws and a few Saratoga chips. Those came out pretty quickly and she brought us a variety of sauces. I had no idea there was a chipotle/spicy version of the signature sauce. It was great! Most of us ordered a pick two kind of platter or a rack of ribs. When I tell you these were beyond fork tender ribs.. I truly mean it. You barely touched the bone and the meat fell off. I got the rib and pork chop combo. It was great. Montgomery Inn is a Cincinnati classic and if you haven't been in a while- head back. For 10 people, 3 drinks each + dinner and appetizers it was around 375. 460 with tip. Well worth it for the atmosphere, terrific views, kind service and great food.

Quick seating. Great atmosphere. Not my type of food but I would try it again. I've heard really great things about this place. The drinks were really really good.

New thing which was very off putting. I come in the parking lot and some one from valet comes over to my car saying it's all going to be valet from now on, that I would have to park at a very inconvenient location. They had like 6 guys ready to take your car from you. I don't like the fact that it limits my choices and made me irritated before I even walked into the restaurant. Poor decision on this company. The restaurant has a great wonderful view. Food it okay. Hasn't changed very much over the years. Service was amazing.

Came highly recommended from our work colleagues, we decided to give this place a try, and we were not disappointed. The ribs were undeniably the highlight of the meal, and they were some of the best I've ever had. Pairing them with a nice cold beer was the perfect combination. The staff's friendliness added to the overall positive experience. I'm sure I'll be back with my family the next time I'm in town. Extra points for the gorgeous river view.

I made a reservation for myself and two friends for 7:30 PM- this was confirmed at 10 AM the day of. Upon arrival (on time) we were told that there would be a 15-20 minute wait. My friend stopped the upstairs manager who was passing by, explained the wait and he was very kind to find us a table on the upper level which was basically empty. We were disappointed to find the food not to be the Montgomery Inn best: brisket- under cooked and extremely fatty, salmon- appearing to be a child sized portion and lacked flavor, not to add that the vegetables surrounding the salmon were undercooked and also the smallest portion I had ever seen. The pulled pork nachos unbelievably was the star of the dinner (appetizer). Montgomery Inn has been a favorite of mine for years and it's sad to see them obviously cutting corners and solely relying upon reputation and ambiance to stand on. The lady who served us was very sweet and apologetic because she knew it was unacceptable dining.

I liked the place, great view of the river and central location. It was full and almost no self parking spots. Spots are tight. Inside was nice decoration and cheerful atmosphere. It was busy for Wednesday night dinner. The waitress was honest in her review of the food, which was appreciated. Beer selection is decent and menu items good. Staff were busy but still friendly, which I liked. Overall it was good experience, I personally like the beer choices I made. I was glad I could try this place. The BBQ sauce was good too but not sure about the hype.
