Monticello Liquor, Fine Wine, and Beer

I have been going to Monticello Liquors for years and refuse to go anywhere else. The staff is the best in the area without question and that makes a big difference. Easy to park and they always have what you need. 5 stars every time!

This qaint and cozy spot was in the cusp. The gentlemen in here are so polite, friendly, and knowledgeable about the different spirits. I only came for a little bottle or 2 (iykyk) and left will like 7 (don't judge) . I love my ornaments (who knew)! In my book, they come highly recommended!

Best store in Dallas area by far to get your supplies. The workers are always willing to help you find what your looking for. The store offerings are diverse and unique and it's easy parking. 10/10

I stopped here out of convenience but never again. Just paid almost $10 more for a bottle of Aperol. I’m all for supporting local businesses and know prices are a bit higher but $10 higher than both specs and total wine. I feel very ripped off.

I have been to this place a few times and it is fantastic. The owner and employees are extremely welcoming and offer help right when you walk in. They suggested a bottle of whiskey that was fantastic and I returned to buy it again. Also my first time going, I was offered a taste sample of a whiskey which was very cool and inclined me to come back. This place is great and I highly recommend it.

Called this place up and asked if they had allocated whiskeys. They said they bundle it up with other liquors so they don't price gauge the whiskeys. So I drive all the way from north Richland hills and to my surprise, they had the Eagle Rare bundled with a tequila I was already planning to buy!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I mean it's an independent liquor store so the prices are a little higher than the chain places, but they had a really good selection!

My FAVORITE liquor store to go to for a quick run or stock up! They have everything and really fair prices. Staff is always so cool and helpful, I always have fun conversation with them (shoutout to Joe and Scott! Especially on a snow day!) 10/10 would recommend!!

Monticello is my family's go-to for wine and spirits. From the welcoming staff to amazing delivery service, we have had nothing but amazing experiences. We order wine for delivery often, and the wine experts at Monticello always recommend wonderful options at a variety of price points. I've recommended Ricky and his team for wine delivery to many friends, and they are all grateful that I've shared the best-kept secret in town!

Amazing people, amazing place! A friend of ours' daughter was in the hospital out of state... super sad situation. She mentioned that she wished she had some Deep Eddy Grapefruit Vodka. Even though we missed the 8 pm delivery time by a couple of minutes, RICKY, OUR HERO, agreed to deliver the vodka to our dear friend! THANK YOU RICKY and Monticello Liquor! You are the best! Can't say enough good things!

I've been here a few times recently. The parking is kind of a pain, because you are literally right off the service road of 75. So be careful when backing out. They do have an AWESOME selection of wines, sake, and champagne!! Their beer selection seemed decent as well. One night that I went I noticed there was a wine tasting being held off in a private room. Note to self - check into this. I also noticed a sign saying that they deliver. I assume for big parties, but that seems cool none-the-less. If cigars are your thing, they have a small room full of them (humidor, right?). The salespeople have been friendly on each visit. I bought a couple bottles of champagne on Saturday, and the saleslady took the price tags off before they sacked them up for me. Their prices are a little higher than some other liquor stores that I go to, so that's why I only gave three stars. If this is your neighborhood store, I don't think you'd be disappointed.

The staff here were so welcoming and answered all our questions on the sake they sold. They have a pretty good variety on wines, and liquor. The place is small and cute, and has a convenient parking area. They also have pretty good prices!

Great neighborhood liquor store. Stopped in last weekend for a six pack and at the last moment Scott asked if there was something I was looking for. To my surprise they had it! So walked out with a much bigger bag and bigger smile than expected. 100% I'll be returning regularly.

The store is in a great location but is lacking in other areas. Selection: 2 stars They have a very small amount of space to work with so they don't have everything that you would want. Would be just fine for someone who is looking for something ordinary, such as light beers, common whiskeys, and general wines. If you are looking for something special or unique you more than likely won't find it here. Atmosphere: 2 stars It's a small shop located on the corner. It isn't the cleanest but I wouldn't call it dirty. For being so close to an affluent area it seems like they could take a special attention to making sure they keep everything as high caliber as possible but that isn't the case. Staff: 1 star Had a really weird conversation with I presume to be the manager/owner. There were 4 people working at the time and not one of them got off of their stools behind the counter to help us in any way and were confrontational when we asked simple questions. Price: 2 stars The price is higher than it should be. For such a small place I understand that they need higher margins to stay in business, but if you are looking for the same product for significantly cheaper you should go to several other larger retailers. ex: Total Wine & More, Specs, Goody Goody's. Overall Description: If you want to support local business go here. If you want a clean, friendly environment with MUCH more competitive prices go elsewhere.

An unassuming liquor store in a great location. I was looking for some Blanton's and called around, three other places were out, but they had a bottle. Selection: 3 Star Selection is what you would expect from a store of its size. If you are looking for something super generic, they will have it. Staff: 1 Star Pretty terrible. Didn't say anything when I walked in. I asked where the Blanton's I had called asking about 5 minutes prior was located. The Manager/Owner made a joke that he sold it, but also no punch line, so not really a joke. Overall the three people working behind the counter were absolutely no help. Also, Blanton's, which comes in a box and a bag was sold just as the bottle; the staff made up a ton of excuses, I actually checked the wax seal to make sure it was a fresh bottle. Atmosphere: 2 Star "Meh" is how I would describe it. I am sure they sweep up semi-weekly, but I doubt this place has actually had a deep cleaning in, well let's say too long. Price: 3 Star Average to high on the basics. Higher on the "hard to get" stuff. If I needed another bottle of Blanton's and everyone else was out, I would most likely drive up to Oklahoma put my liquor money on black seven times in a row in hopes that I could win enough money to have my bottle flown in from Houston. However, if it was rainy or on a day of the week that ended in y, I would probably say "whYYYYYYY" and then go to this liquor store, brace myself for lame "jokes" and unpackaged Blanton's.

Located ok the corner of 75 and Monticello, this liquor store is a true, Dallas gem. It's in its own free standing building with private parking. The space is super easy to come and go and the staff inside is wonderful. Inside its small, but the selection is moderate. They have an over abundance of select, choice wines as well as a mini cigar room. The prices compete with its surroundings, but the easy and friendliness really sells the product. Enjoy.

The absolute worst for customer service. Called looking for a few specific items and they wouldn't tell me what they had in stock, not to mention they has guys yelling in the back ground "We have everything". I decided to go by and check since it's close to my office and their prices are absolutely ridiculous, specifically for bourbon. Don't waste your time here, as there are better options nearby.

This place is the worst!!! Ordered a keg of Mexican beer 6 weeks before our daughter's couples shower. Called the week prior to confirm, "yes" no problem thanks. Show up date of the party to a couple of drunk employees sipping vodka on the job, slurring and said "well, did you call today? We didn't get the delivery." We were thinking then why the hell did you not either call us or make arrangements, but could obviously tell they were wasted. Never going back to this shit show!!!!

This place is a Dallas treasure , Joe and Gus team will make sure your orders and questions are taken care of. Every detail , idea or question will be addressed and taken care of !!!! If your not using them , well your getting second best in Dallas !!!! Thanks guys and delivery is where it's at if you live downtown or anywhere !!!

Very happy customer here. I went in there for the first time. I had called previously about Moonshine and the guy, Joe, was very nice.He explained what is moonshine, and history and asked to come by if I had further questions. Today I went in. Joe attended to me. Showed me the moonshine selection and gave some recommendations. However, was not pushing a sale. I did buy the punch moonshine. While I am not a drinker, I went there for christmas gifts. The selection, prices, and service was great.

This place gets 5 stars in my book. They had the vodka I was looking for that I have a hard time finding. The guy behind the counter (not the owner) was super nice. He pointed out that they deliver, which is great! To top it all off, they helped me out when I couldn't get my car to start! Monticello Liquor has earned a customer for life! Thanks!

I love this place. First of all I am happy to be supporting a local business rather than huge chain. Also the staff is incredibly knowledgable and can always give you a great recommendation. I once was really late to a function and ran in saying "I need 3 bottles of fairly decent Pinot noir for under $15 each." I was in and out in less than 5 minutes and everyone loved the wine! Also if you love Bourbon and Whiskey ask for Alec, the last time there he pointed me to an inexpensive small batch Bourbon that I never would have tried but was excellent and less expensive than the one I usually drink!

This place looks a little sketchy on the outside but don't let it fool you. The inside is clean, well organized and easy to find things. They have a great selection of wines. They even sell cigars if that's your fancy. They have a separate glass room with all their cigars stored. The people that work here are very friendly and so helpful if you're looking for something specific. There's plenty of parking out front and on the side of the building. Prices are comparable to the area. I definitely recommend stopping in here!

My wife and I just moved from Denver to Dallas about a month ago. Since coming to Dallas, I've searched everywhere to find a bottle of my beloved home town Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey. After searching online for some liquor stores that may have a chance to carry some whisky from micro-distilleries, I stumbled on Monticello. I called over and talked to Mike the owner. He set their last bottle aside for me until I was able to swing by and pick it up. Come to find out, they have a great selection of name brand and off-brand whiskey's and Mike threw some great recommendations out for me. I'll be back to this store!

What a GREAT location but since MAX took over the place went down hill with customer service...So sad that their employees only wait on customers who live in the neighborhood. Other than that, they up sell to anyone just asking for a simple Merlot and they steer you too the most expensive wines. They have no good idea on mixers and actually expect you to wait on them to help YOU. This place is the worst, and with so many other places so close, don't waste your time with MAX the new owner. As with ALL new ownership comes change....and unfortunately this place is going to last 1 more year!! So much for loyalty

A liquor store that I can walk to from my house? YES MA'AM!!! Even in such a small space, you can almost always find what you seek at Monticello Liquor. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly with an eagerness to lend a hand. The prices are still great for an independent shop (this ain't Wal-Mart) and driving across town isn't worth saving a dollar to me. Bottom line: Monticello Liquor is a super friendly, independent, neighborhood liquor store with reasonable prices, a convenient location, and friendly service. Even if I'm just stopping in for a bottle of wine or a bag if ice, it's always a great experience. Never a complaint here!

Parking kinda sucks because you may have to back out into the street to get out. Other than that it's good stuff. The thing that got my attention was the wide selection of Asian beers, wines, and liquors. Also another tip is that if you become a regular and talk to the owner or who ever is at the register they might hook you up with a discount of some sort. :)

I found this place while I was searching for Korean Soju. One of the yelper told me this place carries some asian liquor. Soon, I remembered that I have been to this store years ago based on Simon (from Simon's Sushi) suggestion to get some good sake. Like Joeseph noted, the parking lot is a bit small. I had to maneuver several times to get my SUV out of there. At the end, I did get my soju at the price of $7. It is higher than i expected, but it is better than nothing.... Asides from soju, they also carry varities of sake, and chinese liquor. Check it out if you have time!

The owners before were amazing and the owners before that were even more amazing but the new owner is amazinger than both amazing owners before, even more amazing then the amazing one. well, the parking lot does suck but its not terrible. People usually park, go in and grab their beer/vodka/whiskey/soju/sake, pay and then leave so its a fast rotation of cars in and out. Go here for soju and sake. They have an amazing selection

I used to love this place. It's walking distance from my house, so when I'm wasted I can walk to the store and continue to get my swerve on. However, the Koreans that owned it sold it to a new guy. He's alright, but kinda creepy and he stares at you. He's also creeped out my neighbors wife and tried to force a conversation with her. I've noticed this as well. I'm going to Goody Goody on Greenville from now on. It's an extra few blocks but I can still walk there.

Some surprising finds at good prices. The staff seemed knowledgeable about what they were talking about, and the location is A+.

This place has something new every time I visit. Lots of vintage wines, obscure spirits, fun stuff. You can find a lot of stuff here that most chain liquor stores don't carry. Excellent soju selection. This is also the best place in town to find scotch. There is a whole wall of just scotch. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful if you're looking for something in particular or need help making a choice. I'll shop here instead of a chain because of the more personable service and selection. Who wants to feel like they're in a Walmart when they're buying liquor?

WOW! What on Earth took me so long to stop in this unassuming shop off 75? I may never know the answer but what I do know now after stopping in this week is that this is exactly what a neighborhood liquor store should be! Forget the big guys, Monticello Liquor has everything you could possibly need, super friendly and helpful staff and the largest selection of mini liquor bottles I've ever seen! The prices are comparable to any other liquor store in town, with rotating sales form week to week. Definitely stop by the next time you are out of your favorite booze!

I found this store to be clean, well stocked, and a highly knowledgeable staff. The first time I made a purchase was a year ago when there were Korean owners or management ( not sure which) and there is a complete transformation of not only service but cleanliness, and quality of stock. Monticello now has a sommelier on staff that is friendly and knowledgeable. These guys helped me find the best combonation of beverages for my party and made free delivery!!! EXCELLENT sercive!! I am not sure what Sameer was thinking when he wrote his review, but it is far from creepy.I took a look at Sameer's reviews, and it seems that this is just a questionable guy that is over critical and likes very little. I noticed a lady with her small child shopping in the store. If a mother is comfortable with bringing her child in this store, that should say alot. (She was a classy lady too).

Don't buy any good red wine here. If you have a problem with the bottle - such as being corked or the wine otherwise being bad, they will say "Sorry. I could give you a lime... I mean.... since you came back." I'm not kidding - the guy offered me a lime. Too many other good wine stores in the area.

Whatever Sameer! I, too, have noticed the change in ownership and I think the service is a big improvement. I find the new owner to be very knowledgeable, friendly and personable....not creepy! So 'swerve' on over to Goody Goody but, Monticello Liquor is the best liquor store in town.

Love this store! I find it very convenient to get in-and-out quickly. The beer is always super-cold and they have a fantastic wine selection of cool things you're not going to find at Kroger or Tom Thumb at all different price points. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about wine and they are always happy to help!
