A Sunday tradition that turns Honolulu Avenue into a classic main street market. Officially run by Montrose Shopping Park, and long listed by the Los Angeles Times, it balances certified farms with prepared foods and family-friendly music.

Google
A modest roadside stand selling organic fruits from the grower, cherry season here was brilliant. The peaches were ripe and juicy, and the owner let me taste samples before buying. There were homemade peach jam jars, too, which were perfect with toast. The cash-only policy and honor box painted such a trusting vibe. I’ll be returning for more seasonal produce

Google
Amazing selection of produce, affordable prices, a healthy amount of people but not overwhelmingly crowded. Check out the backyard farmer stand for amazing watercress.

Love the farmers market, June is a great time for peaches and apricots

I am, of course, here for the scones and teas at Sugarbird Sweets! They’re located across from the Montrose Bowling Alley (which is an awesome place as well!) Seriously, mind blowing scones.

Always a joy to attend, especially during the art sale events :)

A great local market with fresh fruits and vegetables, coffee, tea, juices, and prepared foods, too. Plus, Dancing Crow Vineyards sells their delicious wines here! Easy to get to, lots of free parking.

Montrose, farmers market is a fantastic place to visit every Sunday starting from 8 AM to about 2 PM. Montrose has this small town feel place where you can also visit other restaurants, coffee shops and stores while you’re at the Montrose Farmers Market. If you haven’t been to Montrose farmers hey Apple market , then for sure visit, as you will find farm, fresh vegetables, fruit and different types of food served. Definitely recommend it.

Yelp
Picked up some fresh dates and tried some French pastries. Pretty busy market but you can find street parking on Sundays. No dogs allowed in the food area of the market.

Yelp
Awesome Farmers Market with plenty of local friendly vendors selling fresh produce, breads, pasteries, dips/salsas, and hand made goods. I also saw local honey, vitamins, candles, jewerly. Most took cash or cash app payment transfers. My favorite vendor was the roasted corn man. He had a get it yourself self serve topping bar. The corn was so good. In second place was the fresh cucumber lemonade. Parking is tricky. Be sure to feed the meter. I saw signs saying no pets in food areas. Expect to spend about 45 min to a hour.

Yelp
Great selection, friendly vendors, bounce houses and petting zoo for the kids. We had fresh squeezed orange juice and watermelon juice, so yummy! It's was a great start to Sunday Funday!

Yelp
Good organic produce but the prices are highway robbery! $7 for an avocado? $3 for a bunch of cilantro? $5.50 for 4 oranges? $1 per sweet potato?! maybe I'm out of touch...

Yelp
Montrose Farmer's Market is a small market place between Honolulu and Ocean aves in Montrose, CA. They sell fresh organic produce, coffee bags, flowers, peanuts and juices. Prices are reasonable. Free parking around the market area. Overall, it's a modest Sunday farmer's market.

Yelp
This is a great farmer's market; it has plenty of variety. I like the bread, pastries, jam, hummus and hot foods. Oh! And, I also think the vegetables and fruits are very delicious and organic.

Yelp
After almost a year of pandemic, we finally went to the farmers market super early at opening to best avoid crowds. Good plan as 30-45 mins later, a steady of people started showing up and it started getting too crowded for our own comfort. And 'twas time to leave. So happy to get to pick up some delicious direct from the farm fruits and vegetables -- a bit pricier than store prices but worth it. Oh my, walking up to the strawberries stand and the sweet fragrance of those berries... yum! Absolutely have to pick up some pastries at France Bakery. Those croissants are to-die for! Ou la la! And next time, I need to bring my Chef knife for sharpening -- $10/piece. Big public lot for free parking a block away, across the street.

Yelp
A huge shout out to Montrose Farmer's Market for adapting to the times and instituting social distancing while providing healthy produce and food for the community. I've been to this farmer's market many, many times over the years and I was glad to see some of the same farmers and vendors here this morning. Some adaptations are: Hours are now 8 am to 12 noon. Vendors are spaced farther apart Customers must stay 6 feet away from others to prevent contagion Customers are encouraged to allow the elderly and those with health issues to go first in line Only 1-2 customers allowed in booth at a time, others wait in line Customers should only handle produce that they intend to buy My favorite bread vendor, France Bread, sold me a wonderful gigantic loaf of cranberry bread. So reassuring to hear the baker's French accent as he sorted loaves and prepared for the day. I also picked up fresh organic navel oranges, radishes, scallions and a bouquet of flowers (an absolute necessity for those of us suddenly working from home.) My only suggestion is that vendors and Montrose Farmer's Market staff enforce these rule a little bit more strictly (I did see one gentleman handling a lot of produce without buying; these are unusual times and while many like to handle the produce first, now is not the time. I skipped that booth.) Plentiful free fabulous Montrose parking!

Yelp
Years ago when I moved to the area, I visited this farmer's market and was very disappointed with the selection of produce. That was then! This market has steadily developed and now has a broad assortment of very local vendors. Sun Valley?! Hard to get more local than that. There are beautiful displays of produce with a good deal of space for walking. This past weekend I went looking for treats for my Mom. I bought a goat cheese quiche, savory and sweet scones, blackberry cobbler!, plus really lovely cupcakes. She was thrilled! Next week, I'll be sure to wait to buy my produce until Sunday. I regularly frequent a number of farmer's markets with each having its own charm. This market, with its very easy parking all along the streets behind both sides of the market, is always quick with no stress. A wonderful way to spend some time outdoors on a Sunday morning.

Yelp
The good: This farmer's market location is great. This Montrose neighborhood charming and quaint. The trees are wrapped with lights and it's easy to find street parking around the outskirts of the farmer's market. The road is blocked and it's a good sized stretch of stands that includes goods like baked goods, fruits, vegetables, a knife-sharpening spot, baklava, and much more. A lot of the produce here are grown by the sellers themselves locally. I saw a stand with horchata and Mexican agua frescas. It wasn't too crowded when I went. The bad: Dogs/pets aren't allowed but I saw them anyway. My brother was disappointed being seeing dogs is his favorite part about going to farmer's markets. Avocados at one stand I went to looked healthy and great but were more expensive than average. The interesting: They're open only Sundays from 8AM-1PM.

Yelp
Montrose has a very chill vibe, parking is easy and free on Sundays. There are lines at some of the vendors. I bought organic rainbow chard bunch for $3 and Chinese broccoli , both were $3 but they have a mix and match special of 2 for $5. Other than fresh produce, there are many options for cheeses, spreads, salsas, juices, coffee, pastry, soaps and knife sharpening. There are hand washing stations and al fresco outdoor dining space available.

Yelp
The adorable little stretch of Downtown Montrose turns into a quaint little harvest market every Sunday. Rain or shine, as they claim, this market offers fresh fruits and vegetables grown by local farmers. Today I bought some rainbow long beans, rainbow baby carrots, assorted squash, heirloom tomatoes, a few greens, and sweet peaches and pears. I was so excited to get back and cook some of my delectable finds. For dinner, I pan-seared some porkchops with peaches and served it with roasted baby carrots and slices of heirloom tomatoes doused with olive oil, salt, and pepper mixture. It was fantastic. The carrots were my favorites. It was naturally sweet and tender. The tomatoes were so juicy. The porkchop paired well with the peaches. When the produce is as fresh, it doesn't need much to make it tasty. Nevertheless food is not the only thing you'll find in this market. A variety of local vendors bring their well-designed crafts such as purses, jewelries, and arts. For the kids and kid-at-heart, a small petting zoo can be located at the end of the market. Here you'll find baby goats, sheep, bunnies, and chickens. The children and I enjoyed this very much. At the market, you can also purchase some beautiful succulents, flowers, and various indoor and outdoor plants. I was tempted to purchase some, but the bf quipped, "Are you looking for another victim?" Darn my black thumb! I confess. I'm a serial cactus killer.

Yelp
Great market. A wonderful mix of vegetables, fruit, fresh bread, food and music. The street is beautiful and tree lined and parking was easy to find. It's one of the best farmers markets I have been to in the LA area.

Yelp
The Montrose farmers market is one of my favorite places to go strolling on a sunny Sunday morning. The atmosphere and environment of the shops and sellers is so warm and fuzzy and friendly. Their produce is literally fresh from the farm and water droplets cling to the leaves of the kale and cabbage bundles. One of my favorite kiosks is Aztec Farms. They sell the best fresh kale in the entire world, and huge bundles for only 2.50! There is a wide variety of stores and products to choose from ; clothes, veggies, fruits, rocks, jewelry, and drinks and meals. The thing I love most about this market is how accessible it is. Usually there aren't a lot of people and the parking is widely spread. There is just a small walk from the parking across the street, but its just a small stroll. There is also closer parking near Kebab Daddy and across the street near Starbucks, but I refrain from parking there because its usually more crowded and smaller. I am in love with the fact that, just by strolling a few meters, you have spanned an entire Target's worth of products, all packed together and all closely bonded.

Yelp
I tried to sell my flowers arrangements in this market for Mother's Day Was not so much people , but was so much food there why? I recommend to have more arts and crafts trades there But thank you so much to Steve for organizing and kindness to me. And thank you so much for people who came to me and interested my creative Maybe one time will be again there

Yelp
Who knew Montrose had such a large market? I accidentally happened upon this market, which was heavenly for me as I'm a farmers market junkie. Small varied assortment of veggies/ fruits with some organics, potted plants, teas, prepared foods and music. Super friendly vendors! Since the market is in downtown Montrose, some of the stores/coffee spots lining the street were also open. Saw lots of folks walking dogs on either side of the market and lots of little kids. At one end of the market there were activities for kids as well as pony rides. Especially appreciated the availability of street parking. Great way to begin the day!

Anita W.

Yelp
This is a wonderful market! The array of fresh produce and other foods is amazing and everything is laid out so neatly and attractively. All of the vendors are super friendly. There is plenty of convenient parking and you can pop into an adjacent coffee shop if you need a caffeine break. This market has been through some bumps in the road in the past but this iteration is a real winner, hands down.

Yelp
I live here and I moved from the Hollywood hills. I was pooled with the Hollywood farmers market and I really feel like this farmers market really needs a lot more variety! We need more bakers here we need more hummus and dip we Need fresh squeezed orange juicers with oranges they sell to you as well we need Greek yogurt artisans and just more life!!!

Yelp
Montrose is a small town with Glendale nestled behind the Verdugo mountains. This town has a great small town feel to it located 12 miles north of DtLA. On Sundays mornings thru the early afternoon, they close down the main strip of Honolulu Blvd for a few blocks for a Farmer's Market. In my opinion, this is one of the better Farmer's Markets in the LA area. It's great for kids, there's a pony ride, bouncer, and a small animal petting area with sheep, chicken, rabbits, turkeys, etc. Booths of arts and crafts and vintage items fill the westerly half. The middle portion has food booths of Hawaiian, Mediterranean, Korean, and American fare. It's also surrounded by restaurants along the street. The easterly half is full of farmers who come from all over Central and Southern California to sell organic and non-organic fruits and veggies. There's a also a number of bread makers, bakers, juicers and a few selling plants and flowers. If you're in the area on a Sunday, definitely worth a visit. People are friendly and it's a great scene to see happy people roaming around.

Yelp
How did I not know about this Sunday farmer's market in cute Montrose downtown! They had my favorites like the honey stand, fresh fruits and veggies, tamales and roasted corn which we were lured by the sweet smell. Reminded me of Friday night on Myrtle street in Monrovia but during the day.

Yelp
Super disappointed at there no dog policy. I get that indoor shopping markets don't allow dogs but for an outdoor vendor to be this unaccommodating is ridiculous. You can get away with walking your dog around for a short while but if you stay long enough someone will eventually request you to take your dog elsewhere. There's so many dog-lovers in the area and allowing people to shop with there pets would definitely enrich the atmosphere. It's a shame that's not the case here. Honestly if you've ever spent time in Arizona you'd realize how un-dog friendly California is in comparison.

Yelp
Ok Before covid I would go almost every Sunday. I have favorite farmers. Everything is good but I'll tell you what's exceptional The farmers at the front in front of coffee bean have the best mixed greens, Mint leaves, and green onions. Their broccoli is also very good. There is another farmer who I buy watermelon radish from in the winter months. It is cheaper to buy from him than it is at the store. He also has bok choy which is better than any bok choy. I really miss this place. Although it is open during covid, I am limiting how often I go out. I can't wait until the day I can roll through after a cycling class and buy vegetables and then go home and decide what to do with them

Yelp
This Farmer's Market is A-OK. If you live in the immediate area, it's nice to stroll through with the family. It has a great small town feel, thanks to the beauty of Montrose. VERY small produce selection - under 8 stalls of produce. The rest are packaged goods or prepared food stands.
google avatar

Sean C.

Yelp
it's Cute & cozy. I love Montrose. It's a small town vibe at its best. I wish there were more organic vendors. It's apparently only 2 vendors are organic. Everyone is super friendly & personable. It's fun for the whole family.
google avatar

Rebecca D.

Yelp
Call me biased, but when we can walk the dog to the Farmer's Market, pick up some strawberries and Kill Sauce, that's the best. No dogs allowed in the market itself. Plenty of choices for fruits, vegetables, jams, bread, roasted chickens, plants, etc. There's a petting zoo for kids, pony rides and from time to time a "thieves" market. Not as cheap as what's on sale from Ralph's, but should be fresher and strawberries aren't in plastic. Highly recommended year round.

Yelp
Love going to Farmers Market so much food, great venders and just an amazing experience each time !!! Ive moved up state and was in town trying to find those stuffed jalapeños with meat and cheese in a jar but the company that makes them wasn't there this Sunday and won't be back in town for a while was hoping if anyone knows the company that make's

Yelp
Located on Honolulu Blvd on Sunday mornings to early afternoon locals and tourists alike can walk around the different booths to support various vendors. There's everything from organic produce to flowers and everything in between. On a recent trip, my mom and I bought some amazing cashew spread. Support small!
google avatar

Yelp
The most charming Farmer's Market in LA! I buy fresh produce for the week there. Love the organic Concord Grapes from Renzler Farms, delicious fresh ceviche from the lady with her 3 children's helping her, Mom's mediterranean is so tasty and my favorite-Stellio's Baklava with Steve who makes fresh greek baklava that is the best i've ever had! So glad they've managed to stay open through these weird times. The charm of this little market is really comforting.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place! Every Sunday from 8:30am - 2pm a bunch of local farmers and merchants gather on Honolulu to provide you with some awesome food, services, kid activities and or items for your house. The majority of attendees happen to be local Montrose, La Crescenta or La Canada residents, which only provides that small town feel when walking through. My favorite thing to do is try all the free samples all of the farmers give out. Delicious strawberries, blueberries, peaches, plums....the list goes on and on. If you like what you tried, the prices are extremely fair. I recommend you bring cash though. If you bring the kids, they have pony rides and massive bouncy houses where they can run around till their heart's content. My family always has a blast! Go out and support these great vendors. Cheers!
google avatar

Sidney T.

Yelp
I have been here twice by accident and they've been great both times. Bring cash to get better deals! I honestly only came to get agua fresca the 2nd time around and got carried away looking at jewelry. The agua fresca stand is amazing. They have about 15 flavors which you can SAMPLE! I tried about 7 and they're all just amazing. Pair it with a hot day, and I can just about die happy. My favorite so far is Cucumber Lime, but I believe they change the flavors around. I always get the large size which comes out to $5, so worth it. I love jewelry by Alison Vopni. All of her stuff are handmade and she has a lovely variety of gemstones and shapes. It wasn't intentional, but if you come while everyone is closing, the vendors are more likely to give bigger discounts.
google avatar

Joyce G.

Yelp
I always enjoy coming here. Samples of fruit, different kinds of drinks, many types of bread and even jewelry vendors. There is always something new.
google avatar

Nairy Z.

Yelp
I am absolutely a regular of the Montrose Farmer's Market. I go here on the reg you guys, and I love it! It's so fun to walk around, smell the fresh flowers and buy tasty fruits and vegetables for my meal prep. There's a little bit for everyone here: live music, good food, jewelry to buy, and all complemented by the beautiful Cali weather. Sundays are stroll days, and I love to spend them visiting this adorable farmer's market! Parking is super easy too, with a huge, free lot within walking distance.
google avatar

Huzaifa T.

Yelp
Underwhelming farmers market but it's open in Sunday's which is a good thing. Tons of oranges being sold. Fairly overpriced on a lot of things. I will probably not be back unless I'm craving some of the food they had cooking there.
google avatar

Yelp
A fairly decent Farmer's Market on Honolulu in Montrose. There are several vendors that offer fresh fruits and veggies. Prices are fairly reasonable (I wouldn't say they are super cheap, but knowing the produce was likely picked within the last 48 hours or so certainly couldn't make it much fresher than a grocery chain) There are a number of other stands I don't find at all 'farmer's market' like. Seems to be the norm in Southern California like a smoothie place and several of the food vendors. I wish there was a farmer's market that held true to the term 'farmer's market' around here. A place to get fresh produce, flowers, eggs, honey, dairy products, grains, nuts, and meats. I could even handle one that sells breads and other baked goods and a jam/jelly vendor. Maybe a small petting zoo for kids. What is actually on a farm and food produced by a farm. Parking is easy in Montrose and it's wonderful that there are banks on Honolulu as some of the vendors only take cash and who carries that around with them now a days? The fruit we bought was quite wonderful but it seemed like they were trying to make the whole market bigger than it needed to be. It could probably fit in half the amount of space it fills. I'll certainly frequent it from time to time as I like supporting local efforts to bring us fresher foods, but I wouldn't say this is a tremendous farmer's market.
google avatar

Elsy P.

Yelp
Very nice I loved it. People is great, business are awesome and lots of good food. Buy the eggs at the beginning of the market they are so good, each eggs came with two yolks! I was so happy

J E.

Yelp
COVID 19 UPDATE this was written on April 26th, and today (as well as last Sunday) I came to Montrose to find the market closed. The previous review saying hours are reduced but the market is still open is indeed wrong. Unfortunately I'm not sure when they'll reopen, but from what I've been seeing each week they're not quite yet ready to open up. Just wanted to share!
google avatar

Emerald S.

Yelp
Great farmers market. Everything is so fresh and in season. The vendors are all so nice and helpful. Hey great place to go out with family lots of fun stuff for kids like the horse ride kids playground to name a few. And for the adults they sell all kinds of goodies from honey to flowers to vegetables and fruits & nuts. Just be sure to be early or else you'll miss a lot of things because things do go fast.
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
Wonderful farmers market! Favorites: Soledad Goat Cheese-- Lemon and Lavender is great! Same for their Jalapeno! There is a bread stand here---based out of Glendora but no longer has a brick and mortar-- The owner is French. Best baguette I've had outside of Paris..and I do mean that. Lots of great fruits and veggies to purchase here. Things not worth stopping for: Kettle corn Any of the food stands- Really? You came to a farmers market for a Hawaiian lunch plate? Did you want to order a Horchata from a scowling chola? Pass. Parking is always easy peasy- Just come here and stroll down the street. Stop in to Trader Joe's afterwards to pick up any other ingredients you may need to complete the meal you just shopped for!

Yelp
Montrose Farmer's Market got more vendors and food stalls than I remember couple years back. Although I rarely visit,I'm glad to have this venue available to me in a sort of walking distance and weekly since I know many people who travel from other cities.
google avatar

Yelp
A cozy slice of the world that that has all the right ingredients to awaken your senses. From the fragrant aromas of fresh produce that fill the air to the succulent taste of food made in front of your eyes. Behold the intricate tapestry of colorful, eateries, crafts and faces that populate the market. Some children wait in line to sit on the ponies while others meet and greet farm animals at a corner petty zoo. The Montrose Farmer's market will not only give you something to do on a Sunday morning, but it will surely put your mind at rest and rejuvenate your senses before another week of work. DAILY TIP: - Start the day with a cup of coffee and Blueberry muffin at Gio's Bakery - If you have kids, stop by the community booth for a free balloon - Try the petting zoo or get a ride on the pony - Wrap up the day with a cold drink at Coffee Bean - Thank me later!

Yelp
The place is really chill and it is full of fresh fruits and vegetables. They even have some hot food places serving yummy stuff. Definitely a cool place to visit on a fall Sunday morning. My only complain is the high price for certain items.
google avatar

K D.

Yelp
My favorite. Really clean, and everyone's friendly. I love the strawberries from Oxnard. I think Rodriguez Farms.

Geovany G.

Yelp
Love this place. Fun place for the family. Hard to find a spot where they have hot Cheetos on corn. One thing is if your looking for the spiral potato make it your first stop. Takes around 30 min for your order to be ready. That's how good it is
google avatar

Vincenzo K.

Yelp
These Sunday markets feel and look quaint but you have to be cautious that not all food items are of the quality presented [cooked foods are not the topic here] I bought a $25 jar of buckwheat honey here that turned out to be misrepresented as buckwheat when in fact it was just a regular blended honey. Buckwheat honey has a VERY distinct taste. The one purchased here completely lacks that. It claims to be local honey. I don't believe it. Also, bought an 11 pound case medjool dates that had lower quality deglet nour dates mixed in as well. So buyer beware.
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
This place has alot of choices and fresh organic produce and some other goodies.. Alot of local produce.. Prices are up there but its expected. You get high quality healthy produce for every cent. Cant put price on healthy eating
google avatar

Dal Z.

Yelp
This charming little farmers market is right down my street and it's the percent Sunday morning activity for me and my husband. The vendors are all really sweet and friendly. The only complaint I have is that I wish they had a wider selection of fresh produce.
google avatar

Shawn G.

Yelp
Love walking thru here every sunday! I have bought some fruits and veggies. I especially like the swiss chard at one booth. Havent tried the food stands because i am usually there too early for lunch but the food smells good. The best must try item are the aguas frescas. I have been here the last 3 weeks in a row just to get them!
google avatar

Mus M.

Yelp
Great place for kids to ride a pony, pet animals and try various produce. There is a decent selection of hot food if you get hungry. The number of stalls is decent compared to the other farmers markets I've been to in Pasadena. Heads-up; the produce is exceedingly overpriced compared to Sprouts/Trader Joe's and other grocery stores. We continue to go for the kids and for some produce that's hard to find at regular grocery stores.
