Monty's Chicken & Waffles

The waffles taste similar to the premade ones you’d find in the frozen section of a grocery store. However, I appreciated the presentation and the excellent customer service. Due to a system issue, my delivery was delayed by almost an hour, but they apologized and prepared fresh waffles for me. That level of care has convinced me to order from them again.

We wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving eve with some delicious fried chicken. So I asked my dear husband to surprise me with a delicious Thanksgiving eve meal. He came home with this giant bag filled with goodies. I opened the bag and it felt like Christmas. The jalapeño macaroni and cheese looked delicious, the waffle fries were crispy and flavorful and the grilled cheese pastrami sandwich looked amazing. Finally I pulled out the box at the bottom and opened it to find some fried chicken and waffles! The spicy Mac and cheese had a nice kick to it. I was worried that it would be too spicy at first, but was happy I went with the spicy version. The grilled cheese pastrami was delicious. Nice soft buttery bun, with soft melted cheese. The pastrami was a nice touch, and I loved how they weren’t shy on the portions. The fried chicken looked really good too, so I was eager to taste it. As soon as I bit into it, I heard that nice satisfying crunch! They did a fantastic job preparing the chicken and I absolutely loved the texture. They are located at the Grand Food Depot, and only offer takeout. I recommend eating the food as fast as you can so you can eat it while it’s still nice and crispy!

The churro waffle and lemon pepper waffle fries were the highlight. The regular waffle was kind of dry even with maple syrup. The chicken was so small actually felt guilty eating it. See pics. The 20% they add as tip is really unwarranted as you order online and they do not have to wait on you. I had to ask for napkins and they didn't give me ketchup. Our cost, tip included, $50 and change. Save your money go elsewhere.

I usually don’t take the time out for reviews, but this has to be seen and heard. I ordered the 4 pc special through Uber eats 3/01 around 11:30am, and was highly dissapointed. Every single piece of chicken was burned to a dry, hard, crisp. Completely inedible. It pained me to watch my daughter try to chew on the chicken. I expected the waffles to be cold(they were), since I ordered delivery, but the chicken was totally disrespectful. Knowing that someone consciously prepared that, and placed all 4 charred pieces into the box is infuriating. On top of the terrible experience, Uber won’t give me a refund. This will be my last time patronizing both Uber Eats and Monty’s.

My lady was hungry.. so I said let’s try this spot… what a surprise.. I ordered a Philly cheese steak 🥩 and this is what I got.. a monster .. huge . Juicy.. so good .. I got her the waffle and fried chicken.. 🔥 fire.. we washed all that down with .. two fresh watermelon juices 🥤.. every thing was seasoned to perfection and the waffles was crispy on the outside.. perfect.. what can I say.. I was throughly impressed and I we definitely having Monty’s again tonight..

Food was awesome! They catered for my short film and our crew absolutely loved it! The chicken was seasoned well and went perfectly with the waffle. The waffle fries that come with the chicken sandwich are also delicious.

My honest opinion , didn’t like the waffle it was dry, cold, just wasnt it , and the chicken was burnt from the outside and no seasoning to it did not look like the picture at all lol potato salad was good nd the coleslaw good as well

The fried chicken had the perfect golden crisp in the outside and juicy on the inside! The waffle was amazing! The only recommendation is to try to get the chicken tenders as delicious as the fried chicken.

My son and I were craving chicken and waffles and we found Monty's on Yelp and decided to try it. We ordered the small family meal online and I was surprised how fast it was ready. The text informed me to come to the kitchen K05, whatever that meant. When I drove down to the location and came upon this Drive-Thru lane, I saw a row of reconfigured shipping containers along the lane, each with K-numbered signs. I pulled up to K05 and pushed the button and the door opened right up. Gave my name and my (very heavy) package was handed to me. My lucky day as the owner was there and prepared the food. Drove out the lane and home and we feasted on a delicious meal with generous portions. The coating on the chicken was amazing and the waffles were thick and delicious. Needed a little more syrup because they soaked it up like sponges. The order came with sides of cole slaw (which was perfect and not too wet, if that makes sense), potato salad (that was also not overrun by mayo) and a mixed bag of waffle fries and regular fries. Overall the meal was excellent and fast and easy order and pickup. Wish these folks lots of luck with this endeavor. Will come again for sure.

My new favorite place for amazing comfort food!!service is the best I've had hands down and they make things to order so I can add or take away whatever I want!

Came here after going the NHMLA block party event. Ordered the chicken & waffles combo (includes coleslaw and potato salad). Everything was so delicious! Don't sleep on the blueberry lemonade, so refreshing, not too sweet or tart. Service was great, the owner was so kind. The drive through experience at the Grand Food Depot was different but neat. Would definitely come here again!

Stumbled upon this place after a concert @ BMO Stadium. It's not a regular restaurant, but just a kitchen in a mostly pick-up sort of situation, although they can accommodate walk-ups. That said, there's nowhere to really eat on location. The food was fantastic, and definitely hit the spot after a concert. The fries chicken was super hot and crispy, the waffles were yummy, and I got a TON of food. Definitely had leftovers. Nice ppl too!

It absolutely saddens me to write this review. It was our favorite place for the longest time, but it's really going downhill. Their chicken pieces are incredibly small. Not to mention burnt. I'd prefer to have good quality pieces and less waffles. I also wish they had an option to upgrade the waffles to a different kind or customize the family meal. They were really good before and I hope they find their way back.

This location is a cool difference experience you order online and pick up at their stall the pictures posted online look nothing like what you get, the chicken wasn't that good it kind of had a sweet flavor and the waffle was cold and soft not even the fries were great.

My 1st time trying your Establishment and needless to say I won't try again. The Website does not match the Yelp page where Mac n Cheese is an option but hasn't been offered since January according to the Worker over the phone. I got my order pretty quickly from Uber Eats so the food was still nice and warm. The Waffles were dry and chewy and had no flavor and the Chicken had great flavor but was so dry and fried so hard it was also chewy. The side of Coleslaw and Potato Salad that comes with it couldve came bigger than the size of a condiment container that it came in and was also bland. The prices definitely do not match the food when my drumstick was the size of my thumb.

Well, first of all, I didn't know if I was waiting in line to pick up my food or if I was waiting in line to pick up an eight ball of crack, the way this place is set up. I ordered the chicken and waffles, or should I call it Mcshitken and sponge cake. How can you people charge $20 for this plate? This isn't something.I would even give the homeless three blocks down from this establishment. I think Yelp is partially responsible for this. Since they allow these types of s***** businesses to even put four stores on something like this.You guys should have somebody go out and walk these places and test them out before you even allow stars to be added.

All the food was awesome. The figueroa philly cheese steak sub had lots of tender and tasty steak. We loved the waffle fries and fried chicken, which were well seasoned and delicious.

Since my first review three years ago, I have ordered delivery from Monty's several times! The food just gets better every time I try it! Even their waffle is better than what it was three years ago! I don't know who got the bright idea to turn the waffle into a chimichanga, but that's the best idea EVER!!!! What's new for me? The chicken and pastrami sandwich!! Oh my goodness, this sandwich is the bomb!!!! =O It has crispy pickles, red cabbage, pastrami on chicken strips, dressing all smashed in a bun and the flavor cannot be beat!!!! I also tried the honey chicken sandwich, which is equally delicious and its own right; sticky, icky delicious lol so get your hand wipes ready!!!! As you may see in some pictures, there's waffle fries and steak fries. I never know which ones I'll get in my order, but I'm happy for either one, lol! I still prefer delivery and it's still wicked fast; one of these days I have to go there in person and see what the ambiance is really like. All this talk about fried chicken is making me want some [Mouthwatering]!! Monty's Chicken is STILL doing it right. Come check it y'all!

Our students at USC LOVED Monty's! The chicken and waffles were fresh and delicious, ordering was quick and efficient with the help of Henry, and we couldn't be more happy with the service and outcome. We highly recommend for anyone considering catering their larger events!

Now Monty! I wanted some chicken & waffles, however, when I received my food it did not look like your pictures that are advertised on your IG page. I'm still trying to figure out what happened to the rest of my wing. The size of the wing that I received this morning, my great nephew could eat that and he's four years old. There was no seasoning on the chicken at all. I was trying to give your establishment the benefit. Had I been sitting there in person I would have returned the entire plate of food, because there was not no powder on the waffles which is pictured on your IG page. However, kudos on the potato salad.

Terrible. Do not waste ur money. Beyond burnt and no flavor. Sad day for me. I expected more.

Overall: 4.5/5 We got two orders of the honey smothered chicken sandwich on Ubereats and they delivered within 30 minutes! Each sandwich came with waffle fries so it was worth$16. The sandwich was amazing! We didn't get to eat our sandwich right away so the chicken wasn't crunchy but it was still delicious. I air fried my husband's sandwich to make it crispy which does make it better though. They use a unique honey sauce so I'm assuming it's their recipe. It's sweeter but brings out the flavor of the chicken more. The buns were buttered perfectly that they tasted good on its own. All the ingredients really complimented each other so highly recommend The waffle fries on the end is a whole different story. They were too hard and pretty salty.

Been in a craze for chicken and waffles. Wanted to get some for the super bowl. Found this spot open close by and decided to give it a shot! They're located at the grand food depot. Wasn't expecting much, and was surprised. We ordered the small family pack that came with 8 pieces of chicken, 4 belgian waffles, potato salad, creamy coleslaw, waffle fries, and macaroni salad. The waffles were nice and soft. Kinda dense for my taste. Chicken was big. They were very crispy. A bit on the drier side. Loved their hot sauce. Family meal pack (small): $38

The food was first extremely late to arrive and when it arrived it was cold. Mind me the place is only 3 blocks from my hom. Whoever provided the delivery service simply left the bag containing the food hanging on my fence

Unfortunately, this would not be a place I would or could recommend. We ordered the small family pack tonight, and the food was lackluster. The chicken pieces were small, and to add insult to injury, the chicken was burnt but barely sweetly favorable. The waffle was soggy but not of too much concern because we ordered out, and the steam from the container played a major factor. I'm very disappointed in my purchase and probably will not recommend this to anyone. I would highly recommend checking your food before leaving.

They say they are open until 10 p.m. on a Sunday. We got there at 9 p.m. and there were no seats set up. Everything was put away as if they were closed. I'm not sure what time you have to get there to be able to eat there. They were open for take out only. Typically if a restaurant closes at 10 p.m. the kit hen closes at 9:30 ish. Anyway, we didn't try it. Good luck!

It did the job as in filling up my stomach. But it didn't do the job in taste. It was just bland chicken and waffles with a side of soggy fries. I can't say that I big backed out. My apologies but I feel honesty is the best policy.

Dang it! I really wanted to love this. The chicken is overcooked and dry. No flavor. The waffles are just plain bread. No flavor. I'm not sure what's going on. It's odd. Especially looking at the other reviews. I couldn't have gotten the same thing as everyone else. I am so hungry!

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! We ordered at midnight and our order was "delayed" with no update and waited until closing after 1 AM. After calling THREE times with no response, one of our orders was updated to "ready" AFTER closing. Pulling up to the window they scolded us claiming the food had been ready for a while and we needed to pick it up sooner. We explained the situation as there was no update to our order on the website and they were very unprofessional and still claimed it was a fault on OUR end. Cold food and dry waffles. Do better.

Wow, what can I say. First time coming to this spot, ordered at the kiosk and our order was done in 10 minutes. We ordered the #2 Monty's Favorite & the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich. Looking at the price I was a bit skeptical BUT after we received our order I can 100% say it was worth with every penny. Portion sizes were great, the chicken was so juicy and flavorful. Do yourself a favor and please try the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich, absolutely DELICIOUS. Haven't had a chicken sandwich that good in forever.10/10, will definitely be coming again soon!

The chicken's dry and flavorless. As in take 2 bites and give up on it entirely. Waffles just barely get a pass, but it's hard to mess up waffles anyways. No butter!? Sides unremarkable. Blueberry Lemonade probably would make a small child in the 1800s diabetic if they drank the whole thing. Loaded with sugar which is obviously how you make lemonade, but it's egregious here. I ordered via DoorDash so I can't speak on the service, but food-wise I can't say I'd recommend. What a shame!

Food was mid. How are you guys serving waffles with no butter at all. The waffles do not look anything like you are advertising. Basic waffles I can make at my house honestly. Ambiance when you get to the location is extremely confusing. When they notified me that there was zero butter I asked for my money back. They said I would have to contact the business partner, give them back my food and wait for my refund in order to get my money back. That makes no sense at all. I tried to follow a complaint with the BBB and this is not even a real business! Will be following up with them and seeing what I can do about my horrible experience. You guys will reprimanded.

There is always something going on with this place first it's the confusing ass instructions making you think that this place is an actual restaurant... so annoying. Why is the drive-through line always long as fuck and disorganized. Why is it that the check in person always looks angry and pissed off????? Come here three times and this is the final straw. You guys give me my food without a fucking fork. I'm sitting here eating with my hands. How do you forget that? To make matters worse the last time I came here they told me my order was ready via text then I go to pick it up and the guy cooking says he's overwhelmed and my food still isn't ready to come back in 15 minutes. What a joke. Your waffles are pretty but after today, I'm going to learn how to make them myself for nothing.

Ordered 3 pc chicken and waffles to go . Got back to the office and open the lid... I wouldn't call this 3 pc. The wing is tiny... Mac &cheese was decent. coleslaw was good. Portion for the chicken was way too small for 20 bucks

Whenever for craving for breakfast delivery, we would think of Monty's Chicken & Waffles. We discovered this place through Uber Eats. We would normally order their Small Family Meal Pack ($46). It is an 8-piece chicken box with Mac and Cheese, Coleslaw, waffle fries, souble stack Belgian Waffles with sweet honey butter and maple syrup. The first few times we ordered this, we were happy with the sizes of the chicken. However, for the last 2 orders we noticed that most of the chicken parts were wings and drumsticks. It is not consistent with the number of sizing of chicken parts (there are times that there are more small chicken parts). Other than that the food is flavorful. The mac and cheese is really good. However, consisitency is key. Hoping that the chicken sizes/portioning will be standard especially for deliveries when you really do not know what to expect until you open the food delivery.

I've ordered here three times now, and each time I've ordered the chicken pastrami sandwich. It's AMAZING and unique to me. It comes with the waffle style fries. I don't have much to say other than you can't go wrong here. The only thing I don't like is that the fries come a little wet because of the condensation from the heat in the box, but I'm not sure how they can address that. The service is quick, and you can dictate when you want to pick it up, which is nice.

Don't open on the holidays if you can't fulfill orders... canceling orders after I've been charged is wild.

This was a pleasant surprise. I got BBQ Chicken burger through uber eats and it was freaken delicious! They give you pretty big portions with lots of fries!

This place is morning special and it's completely overstated. First of all, they are not super friendly. I ordered 4 family meals to take to a picnic and at the window I asked for extra napkins and silverware. I was told it was in the bad that was stapled. When I got to the picnic no napkins or silverware which it means all the Mac & Cheese and coleslaw went to the garbage since we were too far to go back. Previous to this I tried their sandwiches and they look nothing like the pictures the advertise. Their pictures have more photoshop than Kim Kardashian. Their most popular sandwich, Monty's is pictured with a thick patty of chicken and lots of purple coleslaw. Well, their chicken patty is a little thicker than a dollar coin and the purple coleslaw is all green. Anyways, I'm done with this place. Back to Roscoe's if I crave waffles and chicken.

Sad to say that the owner or manager of the restaurant did not bother to respond to my messages about the teeny chicken pieces my family and I received after ordering a family meal. The waffles are good, but we will not be patronizing this restaurant due to the poor customer service and tiny pieces of chicken. It really is unbelievable. See my pics! Also, please note how the owner or manager only responds to the positive reviews left on Yelp. Hmmm...

First time ordering from here and my last. Chicken was so hard smh. No favor on the chicken and my coleslaw was old and to to wet . Mac and cheese was ok . For price the should have been way better. Went here one night to get some chicken and waffles because someone said it was better than roscoes, so I thought we give it chance. Love the idea of the driveway drive- thru with the different kitchens! I spent over 50$, my order was wrong and my chicken was dried and the waffles and fries were hard too. I asked the lady who gave us our food if there were napkins and silverware in the bag and she lied to me! Had to go to a gas station to get napkins and forks and knives. Should have followed my gut and went to Roscoe's. Don't like giving bad reviews but hopefully next time when someone spends money with you and your business, you won't be so rude!

I'm very fascinated by these mini restaurant businesses. This is an awesome and extravagant idea. It saves room and time. It's quick and simple. Never seen anything like it. Delphino (not sure of the correct spelling of his name) was patient with us as we ooohhh'ed and aww'ed the set up while giving him the name on the order. My mom was too impressed. She loved the pick up set up as well but what impressed her most is how they prepared her food. It was done just the way she asked. Her waffle was crispy and toppings were to the side as instructed. I've yet to pick up any Uber Eats orders here but I look forward to it because we didn't have to wait, the food was ready and correct and of course my biggest impression was the way they sealed up my mom's order. They keep their customers safe. They even sealed her drink. She did an Uber Eats order but selected to pick it up herself. Very good service and food. We'll definitely be back!!!!
