Best Restaurants in Ealing | Where to Eat in West Ealing, Ealing Common | Eater London

"A bit of an institution, Kathmandu’s slightly sterile online photography does a disservice to the warmth and care that permeates the restaurant. Momo skins are taut and fine, with a deeply seasoned filling that fizzes with garlic and chilli, while chicken lollipops offer Flinstone-worthy clubs crackling from the fryer. Chhoyla, a Newari barbecue dish of lamb or chicken rich with cumin, chilli, and perhaps a crackle of timmur is a fine main, but a hidden star is the Malabar paratha, tissuey and rich, ready to be scraped through hariyali lamb. Stick to the Nepalese dishes, in short — it’s why the restaurant exists and what the chefs most want to cook." - James Hansen

My family had raved about Montys, so I had to visit. Get the poppadoms they said! I did and they're fabulous. I'm actually not a huge poppadom fan but the brilliant range of dips that accompanied them made all the difference. Determined to try something new, I went for the Gurkhalil chicken. It was spicy and delicious. It's also nice to have a mix of cuisine available and with no judgement from the lovely staff, I had special fried rice to accompany the chicken. The other yummy dishes were vegetable samosas, chicken Korma and Dhansak, Bombay potatoes and a garlic naan. The staff are super friendly and attentive and the food delivery was spot on. A great restaurant to visit!

We have ordered before and it was great but this time the curry is awful. It’s swimming in oil and both curries look exactly the same even though we ordered different things. I tried to ring and tell them and they said well we’ve sent things out all day and it’s not been a problem. So obviously we are in the wrong???they are resending order so let’s see!…. New order just arrived and still absolutely swimming in oil .absolutely disgusting curry,no excuse. Too many good curry places around to get away with it

A real hidden gem in the heart of Ealing! Montys Nepalese Cuisine is one of those rare places that feels truly authentic and loved by locals. This family-run restaurant has been around since the 1980s — and it’s easy to see why. The food is absolutely delicious. Probably one of the best Indian/Nepalese meals I’ve ever had — and their Chicken Masala is simply unforgettable. Full of flavour, perfectly balanced spices, and so comforting. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, and the service is warm, friendly, and attentive. Prices are very affordable, especially for the quality of food they serve. What I also love about Montys is that it’s not a touristy spot — it’s mostly locals who know and appreciate good food. If you’re in Ealing and craving Indian or Nepalese cuisine, Montys is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Everytime we come to London, we regularly visit Monty's Nepalese Restaurant in Ealing. We love the food very much and also the service provided by the staff. The food is always delicious and the service is second to none. The photo is when we did a take away for Easter at home.

Best Nepalese food in Northfields area with good service and atmosphere. We had a best time during our visit. Staffs were very humble and attentive. Naan, Gurkha grill masala and chicken shaslik was best. Must visit place around Ealing if you are looking for nice Nepalese cuisine.

Monty's Nepalese Cuisine proudly holds the title of being the first established Nepalese restaurant in London, and it continues to set the standard for authentic Himalayan flavors. This pioneering spot blends tradition with warmth, offering a cozy atmosphere and consistently delicious dishes. One standout is their Butter Chicken—a rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced delight that keeps customers coming back. It's tender, flavorful, and arguably one of the best in the city. Whether you're a longtime fan of Nepalese cuisine or trying it for the first time, Monty's offers a genuine experience that honors its heritage. Highly recommended for anyone seeking bold flavors, authentic recipes, and a taste of Nepal’s culinary legacy in the heart of London.

“I’ve tried a lot of Nepalese restaurants, but Monty’s Nepalese Cuisine is on another level. The food is absolutely delicious—so full of flavor and cooked perfectly. But what really makes this place special is the people. The staff are so warm and welcoming, and the owner himself goes out of his way to make sure you have a great experience. The service is just above and beyond. If you’re looking for amazing Nepalese food with genuine hospitality, you won’t find a better spot than Monty’s!”
