Moobongri Soondae Review - Spring Valley - Las Vegas - The Infatuation

"When you want a chiller night, you can still technically “go out drinking” by swapping Hennessey for the warm broths at Moonbongri Soondae. At this spot in Chinatown, you’ll find families sharing bottles of sake and kids scarfing down noodles with chopsticks while simultaneously watching Cocomelon videos on their parents’ phones. This spot is known for their pork blood sausage soups, which live up to the hype thanks to both the meat being cooked perfectly and the flavor-packed bases. But you’ll also want to try the bulgogi plate that comes to the table sizzling—and we like to pretend its whispering to you that it was such a good idea getting dinner west of the Strip." - Gabe Bergado

Google
Wow, so delicious. I wanted some good food for lunch before studying at M3 nearby and this place is tucked into the corner of the same strip mall. The woman was very nice and recommended the Beef Galbi-Tang, which was so delicious and had a perfectly rich broth. It came with good portions of kimchi and radish kimchi, rice, and a dipping sauce for the meat in the soup. I will definitely be ordering here again on chilly days.

Google
Lunch place for some Korean food! It was very nice food and traditional. Many Koreans go here. It's a lunch place with very bright lights so don't expect a romantic dinner place. I have some of the stew soups and soondae. Great place. Would go back at night to eat their BBQ next door.

Google
The food was so good! I had spicy Soondae soup, and it was just a good amount of spiciness and saltiness. Sometimes, intestines can taste or smell gamy, but this place has clean taste!!

M Jeero

Google
The place was just ok. Clean, lots of table. My wife had spicy pork meat soup. It wasn’t that good. The pork was cooked so long that pork flavor is gone. She explained to them that it wasn’t good and they replaced it with something else. That was nice of them. Service was great and the waitress explains what it is you eating. I had calbi tang was tasty and the broth is delicious.

Google
One of my regulars, when it comes to spicy sundaeguk, this is definitely the place. I've been going to this place since it was in front of Kim's Electric, on Olympic Road. I go to this place when I go to Vegas, and I go to this place when I go to San Diego. It's one of my favorite restaurants. Tip: To-Jong Sun-Dae is tastier than just the regular Sun-Dae.

P K

Google
This place is authentic. But this is not your average Korean restaurant. This places is for the adventurous: the daredevils who enjoy organ meat. I got the soondae mix platter for $40 (so it's far from $22.99 shown on the menu here in Google). My friend paid 🤠 But nowadays we are all paying the price for the covid-flation. So I want to focus more on food. The amount and quality of food is great for the price. I can't say that there aren't better deals in K-town. But I won't go wrong here 😌🤗 I won't recommend this place to vegetarians.

Kyoungmin Kim

Google
Genuine korean food! I’m surprised how low the rating is. The sundae is sooo good, broth is thick. Kimchi is fresh! 장사 더 잘되세요!!

Kandee K

Google
Tastes not good at all, don't worth the price. Only few meat choices. We ordered pork belly and ribeye and both were half cook in the kitchen.. A waitress helped grill the meat, accidentally dropped some on the table and put it back to our grill immediately..

Yelp
Moobongri Soondae is the definition of a traditional, hole-in-the-wall Korean eatery, serving up some of the most authentic, comforting, and flavorful soondae you can find. This mom-and-pop spot, run with Korean auntie-style warmth, delivers on quality and tradition. The soondae was incredibly soft, flavorful, and expertly prepared, making it an absolute standout. Their soups are rich, deeply layered, and packed with collagen, offering the perfect balance of heartiness and comfort. Each sip is a reminder of why this place is a must-visit for Korean food lovers. Beyond the soondae, the bossam was also exceptional -- tender, flavorful, and perfectly paired with fresh accompaniments. For those looking for true, no-frills, home-style Korean cuisine, Moobongri Soondae is an absolute gem. This is the kind of place where tradition and authenticity shine through in every dish.

Yelp
This amazing restaurant was introduced to me by a friend and I'm so grateful! The food is amazing! Though I usually only get one thing, their beef soup! Forgive me for not knowing the name but I'll do my best to describe it! (Also, look at my photos). The broth is delicious and the portion size is more than enough. Maybe if you're on the lighter side of eating, you may share it. But why not order two and take it home! The beef ribs are huge and are delish! You cannot go wrong with ordering that. The rest of the menu looks amazing but I'm stuck on the soup ribs... eventually I'll get to other dishes. The service is friendly and helpful! I've always enjoyed and appreciated the service. The parking is usually valet but if you go early in the day it's self parking. It's in a busy shopping center but the valet guys are amazing at playing car Tetris! Definitely a place to add to your list !

Yelp
Food 5/5 - LOVED the Soondae Soup and the plate of soondae. The portions were big, and they do not skimp on soondae in the soup, which I know a lot of places do nowadays. I personally recommend the spicy one. I liked the broth and it was not overly spicy. Just a nice warm spice. Also you taste the "porky" smell less, which I preferred. Service 5/5 - I personally thought the service was great! It helped that I spoke Korean, but I saw them treat non-Korean speakers well. She explained recommended ways to eat the soup/soondae when dropping the food and also told us to ask if we need any refills on banchans. We went on Sunday afternoon and there was no wait! We got our food super fast. Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for a place that opens on Sunday!

Jonny J.

Yelp
Their soups are top notch, and their kimchi are the best. Soondae soup broth is rich and savory. There are 3 different kinds of seasoning--salt, ssamjang, shrimp sauce--to dip the meat on and it's just a wonderful tasting experience!

Yelp
If you want to have the best hangover/comfort food, please go here and order the spicy soondae soup. Not the non-spicy one, but the spicy one. Why? Because it is insanely better than the non-spicy one. You can taste the depth of the soup, which was boiled for 14 hrs of duration. The soondae itself was not as big as the 8th soondae shop, but they did give you a good amount. Whereas in 8th soondae gives you the thickest ones lol The service was friendly and the ambiance is casual dining. They don't ever play music because it's Korean's mom&pop shop. I strongly recommend!
google avatar

Selma K.

Yelp
The food here was really good, the pricing is very cheap for how much food they give. The service was very fast & nice. Inside is pretty spacious & very clean. I enjoyed the spicy soondaeguk more than the regular one but they are literally spices on the side to add more or less!
google avatar

Cholho R.

Yelp
Today is the dayoff, so I ride my son to scbool and had a glass of soju with my wife. Delicious and happy time... The combination of soondaeduk and soju is so good.
google avatar

Trinny T.

Yelp
The food was always delicious but they accidentally overcharged us one extra bowl, hence 2 stars. Also at that time the restaurant was so narrow there were barely any place to seat but they managed to squeeze us all in. I didn't come back after getting the overcharge though, for 2 years
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Omg just hits the hangover spot every freaking time. And the kimchi kills with the fresh bowl of white rice
google avatar

Robin K.

Yelp
Wow Moobongri's pork belly is honestly so juicy and delicious. I definitely recommend coming here if you never have. The meat is al a carte so make sure to buy a good amount!
google avatar

Nahi K.

Yelp
The service here was so amazing I felt compelled to leave a review. It wasn't too crowded on a Sunday afternoon - the KBBQ place next door with the same name seemed to be more popular - but our server was so friendly and attentive! She told us we could sit anywhere, asked if we needed more banchan, and brought an extra bowl out because our soondaeguk was piping hot. The food was delicious and it reminded me of home. :) Would definitely come back for more!
google avatar

Glen K.

Yelp
Come here if you like a heart bowl of soondae soup. Definitely the spot to go for a nice hot soup that would heal your soul. The soup took a bit of time to come out but it was definitely worth it. I got the spicy soondae soup and it was seasoned perfectly. My friend got the regular one and had his own seasonings given to him. If you like spicy though, its the spicy version is better. The servers are really nice and they are very attentive. Definitely will come back for more good soondae soups.

Jy S.

Yelp
Really Korean original style soondae. They have two kind of soondae. Both are great. Chal soondae is just standard soondae flavor. Other one tastes like Byung Chun soondae style for me. Soup is also great.
google avatar

Cony L.

Yelp
I have been craving Korean blood sausage and decided to check out this place from one of my friends' recommendation. Their soon dae to go was smaller portion compare to 8th soon dae but I thought soon dae tasted very clean and very chewy. The server was nice as well. We also tried soon dae hook, it was clean n mild taste. Will definitely come back
google avatar

Wendy K.

Yelp
Food was great. Service was great! The pork belly is a thick cut.. even got the fried rice at the end!
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed eating a hot soondae (sausage) soup on a rainy day. The soup had a lot of different kinds of meat. The soondae was so hot, I had a hard time eating it. I would take out the soondae and let it cool next time. Their Kimchi was very tasty. You can always ask for more! I bought some radish Kimchi to take home for $8. We've been enjoying the radish Kimchi at home. The place was packed during lunch time, not sure about dinner time. Pretty clean too. The only inconvenience was finding parking. The valet guy was overwhelmed with so many cars coming in, my husband decided to get out and park at the California Market place and walked back since we were going to shop there afterwards. I would be back but not during peak hours.
google avatar

Kimochi J.

Yelp
Best soondae in ktown. Underrated compared to its quality. They also have delicious kimchi. The place is clean and quiet. One thing I don't like is them doing last call an HOUR before their close time. I've worked in restaurants and went to many of them but never experienced kitchen closing completely an hour before its close time. Food is 5/5 but 4/5 due to its weird hours
google avatar

Chloe K.

Yelp
best soondae soup ever. it's a chain so i had high expectations, and it was met. service is also great, ladies there r so nice, quiet resto, great location right nxt to the bbq spot and i love the price will be back to satisfy my soondae and korean soup cravings esp since rn it's wintertime!
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Does it taste as good as the soondae you would get in Korea? No. Even though Moobongri Soondae BBQ is a relatively popular chain throughout Korea, it's very difficult to have the same high-quality servings available when you're sourcing ingredients from different regions. It wouldn't be fair to evaluate this restaurant's soondae quality with those in Korea. Pretty upsetting to see many folks leaving 1-star reviews on here because it "doesn't taste like home." Sure, the soondae here isn't the best you can get in Koreatown (8th Street Soondae offers better quality); however, this place is definitely not 3-stars. I mean, this restaurant has been here at this location before I was even born. That says a lot about their credibility. If you're craving decently tasteful soondae and you happen to be nearby, go for it. The servers are all older Korean ajummas who are attentive and kind.
google avatar

Austin R.

Yelp
First off don't come here, I want to keep this spot to myself (heavy gatekeeping) but I must share my experience. Ktown has a great number of Korean bbq's but this one has to be the one that reminds me of Seoul the most! The meat quality is amazing and they precook it a little bit to speed things up. The Jeon is amazing and comes out fresh. The soup that accompanied the food is amazing! The kimchi cold noodle is also a great hit. The service is very attentive. The ambiance is nice in the restaurant. Alacarte bbq. Thicc cut pork belly is the best! Pork jowl very flavorful!
google avatar

Phoebe K.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the soondaeguk here! There was only one lady working here (we did come a bit earlier in the morning) and she was so busy so service was a bit slow but totally understandable. She tried her best to get to everyone in the restaurant and the cash register as quickly as she can. I asked if she can give the soondae on the side of the guk and she happily obliged. Service was great and the food was AMAZING. It was PERFECTLY seasoned and just the right amount of intensity and flavor. Can't wait to be back!
google avatar

Esther L.

Yelp
Food is pretty mediocre honestly... parents said this was a chain from Korea and they wanted to try it but man the soondae soup was terrible. The soondae on its own was just ok too. The soondae does have a fun bouncy texture since it's chapssal. 8th st soondae is much much better though in terms of overall flavor.
google avatar

Mary J.

Yelp
Their food is OK but I don't think their prices is reasonable. I can't believe five dollar amount of soondae in Korea can be 25$. Not worth it.

Young K.

Yelp
Thick broth and plenty meats with soondae. I had the $27 combo for lunch. Surprisingly it was great. No expectations at all.. but it was a great lunch. Will be back~~

Sarah D.

Yelp
Not as yummy as my go-to soondae restaurant, but they use a vacuum sealer for take-out food, so I sometimes get soondae soup from them. Their kimchi is good too.
google avatar

ANGELA S.

Yelp
Had to have soondaegook, after watching late night mukbang on soondaegook. Darn it, YouTube!! Called my friend to join me for lunch and we were just quiet while eating. It was that good, heehee. Went to a tea place near by after lunch for girl talks. It was especially good because of chilly raining weather... a good soondaegook on cold day? Yes please.
google avatar

Jun L.

Yelp
Food was delicious and service was great. I ordered the spicy Soondae stew but it wasn't spicy. I wouldn't spend extra money to get the spicy version next time but it was still delicious! I would definitely come back.
google avatar

Aileen K.

Yelp
Most people come here for the soondae and soondae soup, and you should too, given that it's their specialty. Unfortunately, I was not in the mood for soondae so early in the day so I ordered their galbitang. It was a solid choice. The broth was dripping with flavor and the extra spices they give on the side of every table can make your soup spicier or saltier based on your preference. I enjoyed it as is. The meat wasn't fall-off-the-bone tender but it was still good and easily removable with scissors and tongs. The portion size is generous, as it should be for $19 including tip. The lot is small and packed ..but it's a wonder the place has its own parking lot at all, so no complaints. I ordered a side of their soondae to go so if it's any good, this will definitely be a spot to hit up when in town.
google avatar

Daniel O.

Yelp
Wow this restaurant was really good!!! We ordered the Spicy Pork Soup and the Spicy Soondae Soup. Both were absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned with ample amount of flavors bursting with pork flavor. The side dishes simple yet fresh and delicious. I would totally recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience delicious soups.
google avatar

Alyssa H.

Yelp
Everything here is sooooooo good! My favorite is soup & salad! Make sure to try their Korean alcohol - 17 proof is as high as I can go but I believe it goes to 27 proof.
google avatar

Joseph H.

Yelp
Kind lady servers, and clean and spacious restaurant. Tried spicy soondae soup for the first time. Bomb on a cold day. The spice isn't crazy. Was a hearty meal with the kimchi and radish kimchi. And that's all you need. The radish kimchi is goood.
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of this restaurant. I like to come here with my dad because soondae-gook is one of his favorite dishes. Soondae is pork intestine stuffed with glass noodles, rice, seasonings, and pork blood. Gook is a Korean translation of casserole. I love this dish. It tastes earthy, meaty, and refreshing all mixed into one. When I finish, it hits the spot of satisfaction. Sounds weird? Yup. Is it delicious? Depends on who you ask. I like to add several side items to the dish. It includes two scoops of perilla seed powder, a scoop of spicy fermented shrimps, multiple scoops of green onion, and a scoop of pasty red pepper. Mix it in together and make sure to watch your tongue as it is served extremely hot. I also like to eat this dish with kimchi and spicy radish. All Korean comfort food pairs well with these side dishes, and it's all you need. Bon appetit. On top of my head, a few dishes which I believe make Korean food "weird." Thinking about the process of mixing blood and rice to make soondae sounds disgusting. Another is the texture of silkworm pupa. Another is eating a live flesh, such as an octopus, like a prehistoric human. Lastly, the smell of chung-gook jang (Korean version of natto bean soup) can stink up the house for days if not ventilated properly. If you are an adventure seeker, I highly advise that you experiment and try the list above.
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
my new fav sundae place in ktown. super chewy and soft soondae but not soggy. soup was so nice and warm and good after a long day. they also give a lot for one person serving. winded up taking it to go and ate next day. service is nice too. they have a clean bathroom. the korean radish side dish was my favorite. i would def go sparse with the salted shrimp dips cause they tend to be very salty.
google avatar

Min K.

Yelp
I like their sam gyip sal. It was fantastic I have few good place to eat sam gyup sal and this will be one of my good sam gyup sal restaurant list. This was really good place very tasty.
google avatar

Dominique H.

Yelp
Ordered tojeong (traditional) soondae plate and mixed soondae plate. It comes with raddish kimchi and napa kimchi. Total cost $71.15. Dont get me wrong. GREAT FOOD. All of my family members enjoyed to-jeong soondae including my mom, whos in her 60s. Also satisfied my friend's taste bud whos in her 40s. But Bit(?) expansive. Food taste 4 star. But 2 star due to price. Forgot to take picture since we were eating in the car way on our trip. Packed in great condition. Dont know if I would go anytime soon for soondae again for this price. Will definately go for soondae soup and order side dish of soondae if i crave again which the price sounds reasonable. ** I may be bit stinge in giving stars.
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
We called in advance to see if they had seats open, it was like less than 5 mins before 8pm. She said, yes of course, but we were stuck in the parking lot due to a crazy valet line. We walked in at 8:03pm and the lady goes "oh sorry, last call is at 8." Btw business hours are until 9pm. Why tell us to come minutes before last call?? What are they thinking?? So we walk back out and told the valet guys what happened and they were also all wtf?? There are much better soondaegook places in town like 8th st. I'd rather deal with the parking nightmare over there than come back here.

Sam P.

Yelp
Got some to go orders for soondaeguk and asked put only tojongsoondae in the soup(this was the usual for my family whenever we eat/order from here). Now there's so much cabbages stuffed in soondae... like a joke. One of my family members complained "Maybe they're offering vegan soondae now"

Jenny K.

Yelp
Food- 5/5 Service- 5/5 Quality-5/5 Moobongri is always my go to place to eat Galbi tang. I'm kinda picky about meat but I could tell they use good quality Galbi! If you like authentic Korean food, I'd want you to try this place!!
google avatar

Visuttiphan C.

Yelp
I have tried 3-4 Soondae spot in LA Here is the best Soondae In LA so far I normally go there with my wife at least twice a month and we both opinions are the same. Never make us disappointed. They keep the taste and service in high standard. Every single time I have visited there since 2018. The tasted was exactly the same as I expected. I love brown rice and super fresh Kimchi. Come with boiling Soondae. Ahhhh Yummmmmmm. Why wait? Go try!!
google avatar

Min S.

Yelp
Soondae taste is okay. But for $30, it's so tiny. I wouldn't eat there. Even with recent inflation, this is too much IMo
google avatar

Victor C.

Yelp
I liked how everything came unseasoned and your table is equipped with several different condiments so you can spice your food to your liking. They can do better on restocking napkins and refilling water and kimchi though. Their soondae is not quite Oh Ma Ni level good, but it's good. Besides, Oh Ma Ni unfortunately closed its doors recently, so this will have to do.

Amy U.

Yelp
I normally go to this place before Covid19. After that it was first time ordering food from here. As usual we ordered soondae gookbab and soondae jeongsik which support to be serve more soondae but soondae jeongsik deos't look same as before. Check this photo. Only difference is case!
google avatar

KhiavDim L.

Yelp
This place is really blah... We were going for Moobongri Soondae but mistook it for this one. The food was not good at all. The lady server was rushing us even though the place was practically empty. She wasn't helpful either because we didn't know how to read Korean. When we asked for an English menu, she seemed annoyed. I got the spicy pork soup but it was not spicy at all. Barely any meat in the soup. My mom got the beef stew soup and it was practically all bone, no meat. The side dishes were ok. I wouldn't come here again.

T.J. Y.

Yelp
Their meat only spicy Soon Dae soup is my favorite of all time! I love love it! But the one thing I wasn't happy about was when I asked for a little mild soup for my 7 year old daughter the waitress said "No" . That hurt my feelings little but I guess that's their new policy. FYI, their Olympic location is closed.

Johnny K.

Yelp
Delicious delicious delicious. If you want that true soon dae gook, this is the spot!
google avatar

Pureum K.

Yelp
Used to love this place. But now is ok. Taste is ok. Portions used to be bigger. Also, it tasted better. Now it is ok. Soondae is average. Price is a bit expensive. Still a good place to eat soondae on a cold day. Parking is annoying.
google avatar

Joy J.

Yelp
Good soondae soup; not the best that I've ever had, but pretty good! I like how they cut up the perilla seed powder (the black/brown stuff you put in the soup that makes it taste extra good) because it dissolves more into the soup. Got a plate of chaldduk soondae & I love its chewiness. They cut the soondae more longer and smaller than I'm used to but it's easier to plop into your mouth, so not bad! Their kimchi is really good, but I really like their radish cubes. Btw their restroom is super clean & nice which is an extra thumbs up from me (that's how you differentiate a mediocre and superb restaurant--by the restroom maintenance)
google avatar

Anna R.

Yelp
I'm not a fan of their soondae gook at all. The broth was wutevz, but most of all the Soondae wasnt good. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!! A friend of mine loves their galbi tang. I cant vouch for it, but he really loves coming here for it.. so maybe give that a try instead.
google avatar

Ella Z.

Yelp
Just order soondaeguk. You have the option of just making it all soondae, rather than them giving you a combination of different parts of the pork. Their soondaeguk hits the spot. My husband ordered gamjatang, which was a mistake. It tasted like kimchi soup rather than have the richness of the pork. Stick to what they specialize they in: soondae
