Astrology-themed bar with DJs, photo booth, and themed cocktails

"We're into astrology-themed bar Mood Ring for the same reason we’re into astrology, and Bushwick in general. Both are useful when you’re dating someone new. This queer, POC-owned bar is an essential spot for anyone who’s either ironically or unironically into comparing star charts with the first cute person they see on the dance floor. Drink your zodiac-themed cocktails in a big purple booth in the main room, or take your date to the laser-filled back room, where Berlin techno shakes the walls." - neha talreja, bryan kim, willa moore
"Astrology-themed bar Moodring has always been a great place to make some light jokes about your toxic Leo traits before stealing your date's phone while they’re in the bathroom, so you can text their mom for their birth time. (Everyone knows moon sign compatibility is more important.) Now, the Moodring crew are releasing their own cocktail book Margarita in Retrograde: Cocktails for Every Sign, so you Leos can have a you-themed, signature drink to serve everyone at your next house party. Celebrate the book launch at two events this Friday and Saturday, where you can buy the book and party with some stargaze-y music and plenty of margaritas." - neha talreja
"Shoving your way to the DJ booth in the back of Mood Ring around 2am was like a sweaty rite of passage in Bushwick. The astrology-themed dive bar was fun and ridiculous, with a crowd that skewed toward stylish people in their 20s. But as of March 26th, Mood Ring is officially back with a few big changes. You can now book a booth inside the bar, they’ve got tons of new outdoor seating, and the whole operation closes at midnight. Check out their Instagram for more information." - hannah albertine, nikko duren
"Mood Ring is a very 25-year-old-friendly astrology-themed bar in Bushwick. If you started your night at King Noodle or Ops, then Mood Ring is an easy second step for your party. Or you could just tell everyone to show up here and not plan a dinner at all (or have a secret, smaller dinner without alerting the masses). There’s a back room with lasers, fog machines, and a DJ, and a bar area up front with some booths. You won’t be able to hear anyone, but that won’t matter because you’re here to dance and take housemade lychee and vodka shots called “Mystery of Luv.”" - hannah albertine, bryan kim
"We're into astrology-themed Bushwick bar Mood Ring for the same reason we're into Bushwick and astrology in general. It's useful for when you're dating someone new. Ever since Vanessa Li and Bowen Goh opened the bar in 2017, it’s become an essential neighborhood spot for people who are both ironically and unironically into the current position of the moon to convene in their big purple booths, drink the zodiac cocktail of the month, and dance in the dark laser-filled back room to techno imported from Berlin. Queer, BIPOC, and trans people in particular have made this place thrive so much so that Vanessa and Bowen have been able to open up a second spot, a karaoke bar called Heaven or Las Vegas, nearby." - izzy chen, with warm welcome, neha talreja, bryan kim
