"The biggest venue in Austin on campus has a plethora of local eats to enjoy while you’re jamming out to the biggest bands. There are sausages and big pretzels from German restaurant Koko’s Bavarian, coal-fired pizzas from Tony C’s, and barbecue from Stubb’s Bar-B-Cue, as well as Shaquille O’Neal’s breaded chicken sandwich chain Big Chicken, and Right On ‘Cue Tacos. There are indoor and outdoor areas." - Darcie Duttweiler

For years, us original Austinites have wanted a true venue for large acts to tour, and we finally have it. To make it even better is they did a phenomenal job with everything at this venue. No seat is a bad seat, and I've sat in several sections from the floor to the last seat in the top row. I can't speak for any of the private lounges. However, they appear to cater to their clientele well. I think parking could be executed a bit better and offering merch at more locations in the venue. Lastly thank you Moody for bringing Madonna back to Austin after 40 years. WE DID IT!! 💜🫶

Went to the NF concert on June 2nd. Got in a bit late because the parking garage we paid to park in with our tickets was closed. We missed the first song, but other then that the performance and seats were great. I could see everything even if I was sitting down, and the sound and lights were very cool. Very loud however but 10/10 experience

Google
Pristine experience, from the stalls to the floors. I felt comfortable enjoying y time and not concerning myself too much that my things may fall and get sticky. The services are well staffed and everyone I’ve been helped by seem to feel comfortable with their positions. The venue for concerts has been great. Whether a cozy atmosphere for Hozier, or a visually and auditory menagerie like AJR, the place shifts and adapts well! *limited ease and access for ADA parking * -Difficult to say or see if you haven’t been here before, and/or limited ability. Wish this was more available in info or space.

Google
Every female bathroom stall had signs by the lock stating if you don't feel safe, ask for an angel shot. This is great. More places need to do this. Any seat in the Moody Center was good, even near the nose bleed sections. My issue was walking in was very unorganized and caused a severe bottle neck.

Google
After many many visits to the Moody Center, I guess it's time to review it...Ive been on the floor to the bleeds and I can say all the seats have been "comfortable" enough with ample leg room compared to many other venues. Bars are plentiful as are snack food options. There are special Indeed, Germania, Dell sections that you can gain access to if you purchase seats withing that section, which is totally worth it IMHO. (Private bathrooms, foods stalls, and better quality liquors at the bar.) All said and done, it's an indoor arena so acoustics are a bit echoey but hey it's a concert, monster truck rally, or whatever else your there for. Great climate control (Madonna's was scorching 🥵) but I think that's an artist's preference. If it's a sold out concert, park in the many garages around, if not a sold out concert and there are no other large events going on, street parking is doable.

Google
We love the Moody Center and would attend way more if ticket prices were not so high or should I say the Ticketmaster fees weren’t so high but at any rate it’s a great venue ! Also, parking at the Trinity garage is a perfect location and easy access to IH35 when you leave.

Google
I won all inclusive tickets to the iheart radio country music festival in Austin at the Moody center, we were up pretty high, ( for free , can't really complain ) amazing performances by All . The center was very big. Very packed. Sound system was amazing. Drinks were expensive but you pretty much have to plan for that at any venue. Great experience. If I win again I'll return but being from Southern Commiefornia it's far and an expensive trip. Thank you Moody Center Staff for trying to make everything go as smoothly as you did. 4 💎. Well done. 👍🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Google
New arena in town. Getting entry was smooth and quick. Easy enough to get around with decent directions to get to your seat. Plenty of concession stands, even some very quick self-checkout ones. I'm going to leave parking to a separate review. Moody Center was a great place to see a concert.

Yelp
This was my first time to attend a concert at the Moody Center. It's very modern & seems new. In fact it opened in 2019! Came to watch the Justin Timberlake Concert and was impressed by the facility from the swift check-in & Security line to the food concession stands. It's not a big stadium so I think most seats have great views of the performers. I hate when you sit in the nose-bleed sections and are watching the jumbotron screens vs. the actual performer. If you can afford it, you might as well pay a bit more money for a better view, otherwise just watch them on a streaming platform. We were trying to find our "Portal" so an attendant told us our seats were downstairs on the first floor. Bathrooms were nearby and very clean & modern as well. The concert was slated to start at 7:30pm so my friend & I used the self service food & beverage stand. I got a Pineapple Cider which I believe was about $17 and also got large pizza slices that were about $11 each. My friend chose 1 Pepperoni slice and 1 Sausage slice that was packaged in cardboard boxes. The pizza wasn't really warm nor piping hot but as it's grab n' go. I was fine with that. Upon checkout, an attendant may ask for your ID if you are buying beer/cider. There are other stands that are just for purchasing mixed drinks, etc. We saw the line for the JT merchandise and a photo area so we just went to our seats, drank & ate our pizza. We took a photo around 9pm since JT didn't start and there was only 2 people ahead of us. There was a DJ playing to the crowd from 7:30-9:11pm when JT started his performance. He played for a couple of hours. Exiting wasn't bad but trying to catch a rideshare was a little hike as cars were lined up. Police were telling folks to walk to another street to catch Uber/Lyft as it was so backed up and other cars had to exit from the adjacent parking lot. The Moody Center is near the UT Campus and accessible within the highway and downtown hotels so it's very convenient. It only seats 15,000 people so it's not too bad getting out.

Yelp
This may be a small venue, but it has bing sound & a big presence. My first time here & there are plenty of food options. From Stubbs BarBQ to Trisha Yearwoods build it Nacho Bar. The only line I saw was for the Merch. Great photo oops & beautiful murals throughout. If you have not seen a concert here yet, put it on your list. To see my photos of the place in action. Please check out my Insta @MyMijas559. There are some great ones.

Yelp
My first time attending an event at the Moody Center. Absolutely stunning, comfortable, enjoyable venue. We arrived via ride-share, and had to walk 5 minutes to the entrance. Lots of staff to guide you from the street to your seat! Abundance food and drink, and best of all the almost no lines!!! We attended the IHeart Country Festival...,who doesn't love performing in Austin. Our seats were in section 112 and we had a terrific view. We probably waited 45 minutes from the time we ordered our ride-share, till she arrived. Moody Center has it very well organized. Very happy first timer. Can't wait to attend another show at the Moody Center!!!

Yelp
Saw Muni & CB Wed. Missy & friends Thurs. Center is easy to navigate. Many food options. Plenty of areas to stop for drinks & photo ops. Restrooms were clean. Security lines moved quickly. Seats were roomy, enough leg room. AC needed to be higher it was hot. Fun experience, otherwise.

Yelp
Damn it's crazy what a year or two can do. Now that I've been back a few times, I can wholeheartedly say that this venue is top notch and they know how to execute an event and logistics. Having the chance to enjoy events and games in suites, floor, seats, or just walking around, everything has intention. I have to say it makes sense why so many shows, concerts, and games are coming to Moody when making a stop in Austin. It is one of the premier venues we have.

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Attended a graduation event, and the facility is very clean, spacious, and modern. There are a lot of options for food and drinks, and there were also external vendors selling flowers and cards. The inside is very cold, so I'd recommend bringing a sweater, even if there are a lot of people.the employees and security staff are very nice

Maria M.

Yelp
I can't get enough of this venue! Been to this venue plenty of times and overall I really love it. Sooo many food options and I love how they make signature drinks for certain events specific to the main artist. From big comedy shows to spectacular music artists. So far the cost of tickets isn't bad if you get them early for any event. Now I will say, drinks are expensive so if you're looking to have beer or mixed drinks be ready to come out of pocket. The food is diverse, bbq, burgers, sushi, pizza and many more options. The service is always quick since it's busy but nothing too crazy and the workers don't seem overwhelmed. This venue is not only downtown but also near the UT campus, so please get there early if you want to find convenient street parking. Ready for my next event!

Marissa G.

Yelp
4.5 I have returned to the Moody for another concert. It's a decent venue that can seat a lot of people. I prefer going to hear the different artists that perform live music there. I saw Madonna in March and recently went and saw Joan Jett and Alanis Morissette. Both concerts were a great time. Our seats were higher up but I've sat all over the place and in different sections and it really doesn't matter where you sit you will get the experience of it all. If you are sensitive to super loud live music ear plugs can help drown out some of the noise. I use them for every concert and still get the full experience. There are bathrooms throughout with several stalls. Ladies sometimes there are no lines and sometimes there are long lines despite the fact that there are several bathrooms throughout each level. The seats are comfortable for sitting throughout. However most of the time various people will stand up as they are enjoying the experience. So you may have to stand to see at some point. I love that this venue is air conditioned well. The only time I struggled was when Madonna performed but despite that it was amazing. There is food and drinks located in different sections all over the arena. We usually just buy some bottled water to keep us hydrated. We chose it from the refrigerated section and self pay at the self pay quiosks that they have. Overall this venue is a cool place to experience live music or other various events. I've always had a really good experience no matter where I sit.

Yelp
This new entertainment and sports arena is a terrific addition to the city of Austin. My first visit to this venue was memorable due to the impressive amount of amenities and entertainment options that are built into the structure. There is no shortage of food, beverage, and merchandising stands in the concourse area as well as a more private area near each seating deck. Every seat in the arena has a good view of the performance area with no obstructions and good sight lines. Other reviewers complain about parking not being near to the building and lower their reviews to reflect those issues. I disagree. The venue itself has nothing to do with your parking problem. This is a world-class venue in Austin and I'm happy that I got to check it out .

Haley Z.

Yelp
We were in section 109, row W and had So much room and could see things great! We got last minute tickets for only $34 for the Jonas Brothers. They have a good lineup of artists year to year at this venue at least. Everything looks very nice here, but it is still extremely new building. It did seem like they don't have a good check in process at this venue. There were Long lines outside of the building barely a half hour before the opener started. Not sure why they waited so long to let people in and if that was the norm, but if you let people in earlier you'll sell more stuff. They were trying to train new people in the security lines so it was taking forever and the process was unclear for visitors and frustrating. I definitely recommend using a driving app service to get to this venue. The only parking near is the Moody Center parking garages that are $37 minimum and you still have to walk a bit. Not very accessible. Insane. This venue, however cool looking, is basically on top of campus which is super annoying and adds to how difficult it is to get there and why there are no other options for parking. Near the end of the concert we were looking for water options, but all the vendors were closed and the very kind medical team gave us one for our walk back to the car.

Jeff B.

Yelp
It was a wonderful experience to view a venue here. The seating levels provide a good view of the performances. It is a little confusing to find your seats if you have not been here. The seats do have a small cushion that makes sitting more comfortable. I saw Penatonix last night. It was their final show on this tour. It was a beautiful show adding to the Christmas spirit! The prices for food are a little expensive but available for your convenience. You will be checked going in for contraband. The place is pretty clean for the number of people attending the events. If you park, it is a walk to get to the Center. If you ride-share, it is confusing on where to get picked up due to all the traffic. I did enjoy my venue and will visit again.

Kevin I.

Yelp
I can't say enough about this venue. There is not a bad seat. We've seen 5+ shows here including Roger Waters and now KISS (their final Austin show...ever). Fantastic sound, unobstructed views, perfect. I can't comment on food/drink prices or value as we never buy anything at the venue. It is a must to buy parking beforehand unless you enjoy hunting. Spend the cash and park next to the venue. When the doors open it is naturally a HUGE line. We waited in our car and pretty much walked in after a five minute line 20 minutes before the show. This was for KISS...sold out show.

Yelp
A year later and I returned to the Moody for the Peter Gabriel concert. My previous two star review is now a solid one star. The biggest issue the sound. Parking is still a mess. I paid $30 for state owned garage a half mile away. I feel sorry for anyone with mobility issues trying to attend an event here. You may get dropped off fairly close but pick-up will be near impossible. The sound problem here is unbelievable. I've now sat in top deck and lower deck and both have had problems. Tonight I was in Sec. 110, Row Q and while the view was good, the sound was terrible. For the entire show Gabriel sounded like he was singing through a speaker phone and the mix was off. Normally, I'd blame the artist's sound guy but after two shows with big names, I have to assume it's the building. Food and drink are also pricey, more so than the average venue. A small bbq sandwich and drink was $28. Sad to say but this is my last show at the Moody. I honestly can't think of an act that would get me back here. I'd rather drive to Houston for a show than see another one here.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Spacious venue with couple parking garages that are at a comfortable walking distance. I would urge you to call before RSVPing a garage parking space that would double/triple the cost online. Be ready to spend $$ as Drinks were about $20 a pop BUT note that this is a no cash spot... it's a card only venue. i did see that they have a clear bag rule, but tons of people had purses/bags that weren't clear/see-through. Security/ticket checkers were doing their job. They could only do so much with the crowd, especially after some had one to many beverages. Fortunately they maintained the level of professionalism needed to get their point across. Kudos to them! Informative website... Highly encourage you to check them out and know what to expect before heading that way : https://moodycenteratx.com Manor Garage https://parking.utexas.edu/parking/garages/manor-garage-mag

Yelp
Just saw a Pearl Jam concert here and really liked the venue. Never been here before and thought it was a great place to watch a concert! Music was great and even the bit so great seats had great visibility! I went to Texas A&M so not supposed to like anything at UT but can't help myself - lol! My only complaint was the time it took to get an Uber to leave. Had to walk a mile and then stairs and then another mile to get to the end of the line of cars- this needs work! Other than that enjoyed the venue...

Amy M.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed my concert experience at the moody center. The restrooms were clean, seats were clean, and it wasn't hot or stuffy like other venues can get. The concession lines on the first floor were ridiculously long, but if you only want a drink, try the 200 sections. The sound was very good and made for a great experience. I'm definitely excited to return.

A'kiesha D.

Yelp
The Moody Center brings many options to its visitors from food, drinks, lounges, and stadium seating to enjoy your next concert or sporting event!! The Indeed Lounge is one of the nicest lounges in the Moody Center, offering a fully staffed bar, nacho station, and snack bar all in a semi private space (photo of bar)

Michaela P.

Yelp
Venue is great. Acoustics and seat views are a significant improvement over the drum. Ticket prices are generally ridiculous. Parking is non-existent (it's an Austin thang!) unless you want to drop another $50. Ride share drop-off is a mile away. Might as well pay to park. Once you get inside, navigation is relatively easy and there are plenty of nice folks to help you out if you're lost. There are a plethora of ridiculously overpriced food and drink options. SOMEONE! Please, tell me why a beer is $3 at the Texas Chili Parlor, $6 everywhere else, but $18 once you step inside the magical Moody kingdom. I'll be back. But grudgingly. And only b/c I already have concert tickets.

Tori B.

Yelp
I go to a lot of concerts. Specifically, I go to an awful lot of Eagles concerts. I call it Eagles tourism. It's a thing. So when I ended up in Austin, I knew it would be a good show. I haven't been to the Moody Center. I'm very glad they played there because it was an excellent venue. I like sitting on the floor and I love comfortable seats. These were fine. Comfortably spaced, pretty much as expected. The thing that was unexpected was the acoustics--considerably better than pretty much any arena that they've played in recently. I've been to quite a few! Also unexpected was the friendliness of the ushers. One thing that seems to be happening lately is a push to keep people on the floor in their seats. Granted, it's rude to stand up for an entire concert when everybody behind you is seated. But there are times when everybody gets on their feet. And that's really OK! These ushers were awesome. They did politely ask the rogue dancing girl to sit down a couple of times, but the rest of us could stand up and cheer and maybe dance a little bit before returning to our seats. That's the way it should be. Yes, people were complaining about the drinks being expensive. (How much did you pay for that ticket, bro?) Quite frankly, I have not been to an arena where there has been bargain prices on drinks. I'm guessing that's for a reason. As someone who has been barfed on at a concert, I'm OK paying extra so that the person next to me doesn't overindulge. I appreciated the self-serve kiosks too. I thought it was a little weird that we had to pour the cans into cups. I'm guessing that was a safety issue? They're sure were a lot of spilled cups on the floor by the end of the night. It was a great show. The set was wonderful. And in fact, looked better better in Austin than it did at the Forum or in Indianapolis. I don't know enough about stage stuff to explain the difference, but it seemed the projection had higher definition, and the stage pieces just looked better overall. Quite frankly, the Eagles get better every time I see them. Seeing them in a venue like this was a real treat, and I truly appreciate it!

Wendy K.

Yelp
I love going to concerts here. The last concert I saw here was sting and the police. They were very good. Looking forward to seeing the eagles tonight.

Bill G.

Yelp
Depeche Mode 2023. This is a quick review because everyone knows about the new Moody Center. What I can tell you is that I have never experienced anything like it. Although the arena is smaller than the Erwin Center, the modern design, layout and amenities are exceptional. If you want an adult drink you can go to a bar. If you want a single beer and a snack they have a small concession areas similar to convenience stores with self checkout stations. I love it and I enjoyed the concert very much. Go!

Christine H.

Yelp
Going to the Moody Center is always a treat! I got suite tickets to see the UT Women's Basketball game against Baylor and had an awesome experience. To get to the suite level, there a separate entrance so no fuss or waiting in line. Plus if you want to go down to the lower level, there are private elevators for use that have attendants to get you to where you need to be. The bathrooms in the suite level are nice, clean, and stylish. The suite itself is nice and spacious. If you don't like being amongst a crowd, it's fantastic. The food stands went fast and there wasn't really much of a wait. I also love all the artwork in the Moody Center itself. I had a great VIP experience and hope to do it again soon!

Shannon G.

Yelp
From the outside, it doesn't look like much. It doesn't scream a concert venue. It's like black on black writing, and part of it is covered by tree branches. This was my first time. And I had no idea what to expect. I was actually able to drive by it, when I realized I drove by it, cause I was trying to find a parking garage to park. When I turned around to drive by again, the road was blocked. Awesome, so now you literally trapped me in. Haha. But just so you know, they will close the road in front. Obviously for safety for the people walking to and from. The parking garage ups their price, $60.00 to park. Some day maybe I'll check a better place to park with some walking involved. But the garage is right there. If you want to pay those prices. So this was Stevie Nicks concert. They had 1 tent outside selling $50.00 tshirts. They were basic shirts a few other things like koozies and canvas bag. The venue does make you wait outside to the exact time. I think it was 6pm to open the gate. you will see more tshirts and concert stuff once inside. Shirts were $50.00 and they had the same design as outside. You're not missing out. And the price is the same. Thankfully the AC works, and let me tell you, it really works. It was actually too cold for me. It was nice being too cool rather than blazing hot in the heat we've been having. I wasn't complaining. But I will bring a sweater next time, just incase. Once I found my seat. I was pretty happy with the location. I was in 121. But 120, 119 would be great too. They are right level with the stage and to the side of the stage. Next concert I go to here, I'll be sure to grab that area again. Row A is closes to the stage, and row Z for example would be further away. I happened to have row B right by the stage. I did check out the food area. It's really nice. Beautiful bar, lots of tables. I bought a flatbread pizza that was delicious. Got a water bottle too, it was about $25.00 which for a venue, wasn't bad. And the pizza was delicious and it was a whole flatbread. Not just a slice. Concert was outstanding. Very easy to maneuver around. I found my section easily. Someone was there to point me in the right direction to my row. Seats are comfortable and a little more spacious then other venues I've been too. Leaving the concert, I went straight to the parking garage, very easy to drive out. I left at her last song, to beat the traffic. And it was perfect timing. Had a great experience here.

Mike M.

Yelp
Had a great time seeing Bruce Springsteen. Brin an on-campus facility, parking is a real hassle. Gotta plan to get here early since parking in all of Austin difficult and pricy. I was blessed to have access to the pit in front of the stage so my experience is different than many others. The sound was kind of sketchy in certain parts but not sure if that's the band's issue or the arena. The building is gorgeous and the drinks were cheap than Los Angeles arenas. Bruce rocked and we had a killer time.

John R.

Yelp
The acoustics are actually pretty awesome. The people working at the venue are friendly and helpful. The place itself doesn't feel huge. To see a big name act here would be amazing. Dave Chappelle put on an amazing show, and I was grateful to have the chance to see him here. I did not use any of the food services, so I cannot comment on that side of the story. So why two stars? Ride-share. No, it is not bad. No, it is not terrible. It is, in fact, the worst setup I have ever seen in my life. Yes, there are bigger events in tougher places where everything is chaos and trying to find a ride is tough. You kind of expect that. Here, however, at the Moody Center in Austin you would think there would be some reasonable way to define where pickups would be. No, not here. Yes, there is a sign that says go to the corner of these two streets but when you get there you are wondering if it was a joke. The police can't even tell you where to go. On top of this, if you are not from the area, trying to get oriented at night here is a Survivor challenge. There is just no excuse for the way they are handling it to the point where it is not safe for the passengers or people trying to pick them up.

Davidm A.

Yelp
This place is actually a nice venue for concerts. We enjoyed it alot. Not a huge place and not to small either. We went to see Stevie Nicks. She was actually amazing. My wife's type of music. I am more hard Rock kinda guy. But the place is actually nice. The food as expected highly exspensive. Be prepared like any other event to pay alot for food parking and memorabilia. Decently set a budget or you will find your self spending hundreds by nights end.

Steven C.

Yelp
This review is specifically for the Germania Insurance Club inside the Moody center. I got charged $32 for a double Moscow Mule with ZERO alcohol in it...yup they basically just put flavor and water in the drink then charge you a double. Premier my a$$

Niharika G.

Yelp
The Moody Center is a spacious and well-designed venue hall that consistently attracts an excellent lineup of concerts. It is conveniently located with parking garages nearby, which is a huge plus. Inside, the seating is ample and comfortable, making it easy to find a great spot to enjoy the show. I also love all the fun murals inside the building, very creative and personalized to Austin! However, there are a couple of downsides that prevent this venue from being perfect. The most glaring issue is the high prices for refreshments, especially water - paying up to $10 for a bottle is excessive. Additionally, the acoustics in the higher seated areas need improvement; it can be challenging to hear the singer's voice clearly from those spots. Despite these issues, the Moody Center remains a decent venue for catching live performances in the city, and I will definitely consider returning for future concerts.

Nicole C.

Yelp
If you attend an event here, don't get seats in the upper sections. The acoustics are terrible there. You can't hear the vocals very well. But the sound is pretty good at the lower levels. There are stations that have grab and go both for beverages and for hot foods. You just scan and pay - self checkout. That does help keep the lines for food and drink reasonable.

Daniel S.

Yelp
We had an amazing time there watching the Jurassic Park Live tour. Beautiful facility., we truly enjoyed how clean the place was and how the seats were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. The food selections were good and the vendors were also very good. Thank you

Tamie F.

Yelp
Love the new arena! Don't know that there's a bad seat in the house. We sat above the student section at a UT game, which required some standing, but view was great. The premium seating was close quarters, but not any closer than any other arena. Wish they had more gluten-free options, but love the Austin restaurants they brought in. I wasn't very impressed with the food/drink selection in the Indeed Club. But the deco is fun. Same for the concourse! Easy entry with lots of doors and friendly staff.

Yelp
Opened in April 2022, the new Moody Center on the campus of the University of Texas (UT) in Austin is a state-of-the-art venue for live music performances and home to the UT men's and women's basketball events. Located on a former parking lot south of UT's soccer and track field, the $375 million facility is the most expensive college arena ever built. It sits on 530,000 acres of land that was formally used as a parking lot south of UT's soccer and track field. The new multi-purpose arena has 15,000+ seats with the largest event floor in the nation. It has 2,000 club seats, 57 loge boxes, 44 porch suites, 3 premium clubs, and a VIP club. It was named after the Moody Foundation that donated $137 million to help building the state-of-the-art facility. Replacing the Frank Erwin Center, the Moody Center is fully encircled with glass windows to take advantage of the sunlight. Its signature canopy is made of real wood and extends far beyond the building on all sides. It is environmentally friendly, with 95% of construction waste from landfills was used to build the facility and includes energy savings from irrigation systems technology and the selection of plants using less water. 200-year-old oak trees were replanted on site. The interior has large, retractable fabric panels that can fold down, thereby allowing for audiences of 5,000 people to 15,000 people. The outdoor area is spacious and can handle food trucks, bars, and lounges with a smaller stage for live music pre-show festivities for concerts and tailgates before basketball and football games, as well as for other community events. VIP clubs offer unique access to certain areas of the center: Germania Club with its speakeasy-inspired spaces, Indeed Club inspired by the local music scenes, and the Dell Technologies Club with its interactive technologies. There's no shortage of food vendors, as you'll find many local vendors: ATX Street Easts (burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, fries); Austin Hot Links (brisket burger, hot dogs); Big Chicken (chicken sandwiches, fries); Congress Ave Canteen (beverages, snacks); Koko Bavarian (bratwurst, sausages, Belgian fries), Stubb's BBQ (smoked brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, smoked sausage, potato salad, cole slaw); The Hits (tacos, rice bowls); Tony C's (pizzas); and Right on Cue Tacos (tacos). I attended a One Ok Rock concert at Moody Stadium on 2/28/23 and just loved the newness of the center. It was very clean, spacious, and had very comfortable seats. The seats are angle appropriately, as you can see above the heads of those sitting in front of you. Prior to the concert, we purchased a delicious smoked brisket sandwich and fries from Stubb's BBQ. Note that Moody Center is a cashless facility so only credit/debit cards are used for purchases. Based on other reviews, parking appears to be a problem, as there may be insufficient parking spaces; however, we did not have any, as our friends dropped us off and picked us up. We also went early to avoid any traffic congestion. As it was the first time in the Moody Center, staff was positioned in many areas. Any questions, just ask, and they will direct you to the right area. Staff was personable, smiling, and willing to help. One Ok Rock is my favorite alternative rock group. Hailing from Japan, the foursome have many hit songs since 2007 and is presently touring the US and Canada with the group Muse and Evanescence. One Ok Rock is promoting their current album, Luxury Disease. The lead vocalist, Taka, has a powerful voice with a great vocal range and control, writing the group's songs and singing them in both Japanese and English lyrics with much emotion. The highly energetic group members put in an entertaining show with Toru on lead guitar, Ryota on bass guitar, Tomoya on drums, and Taka as lead vocalist. They are so popular in Japan that they can easily draw in 110,000 people for back-to-back concerts at Tokyo Dome; and even then, tickets are sold on a lottery basis, as the venue is not able to accommodate all that want to see them. They are relatively unknown outside of Japan and thus, are expanding their fan base to other countries. Lol, no, I'm not a groupie, but just love their music and Taka's voice. So, it was a no brainer for me to attend their concert at Moody Center, as I was also able to meet up with my pen pal that I've been writing to in the past 63 years. I enjoyed the concert immensely, as the state-of-the-art technology allowed for a perfect sound system and great viewing for this concert. The music entertainment industry had previously passed up Austin for other cities with better facilities, but now, the Moody Center has drawn interest from agents, promoters, and artists for its first-class facility. I would be most happy to return if given an opportunity to view another concert at the Moody Center!

Yelp
New, modern, clean venue. Comfy seats. Clean bathrooms. That's about the only good thing. Seen several acts here: George Strait and Willie The Eagles Leon Bridges All great acts but all sounded terrible. The acoustics are just shite. Super pricey. From tickets to concessions, you know you're going to pay a premium for concessions but these prices are ridiculous. I'm on the fence on whether I want to continue to see acts there are as you're not getting what you pay for in terms of sound quality, concessions and seat pricing.

Yelp
Living here for almost two years, I've denied myself the luxury & excitement of seeing a huge live concert, focusing on experiencing the city on an intimate level. Well, when my favorite band, The Cure comes to town, it's time to "Catch" a live show guaranteed to be "Hot Hot Hot!" FYI, I will be slipping in The Cure references b/c I like to amuse myself & hopefully it will make whomever reads this smile. On a side note, ticketmaster decided to "Torture" the fans w/ fees higher than the tickets themselves. In an admirable move, Robert Smith made some moves for rebates but nevertheless I had to get my tickets from vividseats. "The Walk" from a parking garage to the Moody Center is a good trek but I run 1/2 marathons so I can take it. Following the crowds on "Fascination Street" was most enjoyable for me as I've never seen UT's campus which is very nice & lots of police made it feel safe. I meandered w/ "A Forest" of goth fans dressed in their finest & not so finest black attire. While I poke fun, these are good & kind fans, bound by love for a great band. The Cure has the broadest spectrum of emotions of any band, moving gracefully from desperate depths of despair to the highest joys. Anyways, back to the Moody Center, it's a typical BB/multipurpose arena standing majestically on a small hill. Architecturally it's not exactly a piece de resistance on campus but it's not an eye sore. After entering the simple "Labyrinth" I noted there are some cool local murals & paintings adoring a lot of white space. This includes a huge painting of AUSTIN, so be sure to snap "Pictures of You" to prove you were there! Next there's lots of venders selling swag, food and drinks w/ relatively small lines which moved quickly. As an extrovert I talked w/ many of the food purveyors and ushers, all were pleasant in nature. I regret to say I'm on a diet so "All I wanted" was popcorn and water. I won't elaborate any further on snacks as "Boys Don't Cry" about concessions they aren't allowed to eat. The sections from the main corridor where clearly labeled as portals. Upon entering "The Snakepit" aka main arena you'll notice there isn't really a bad seat. I've been to gyms that have some really steep stairs but fortunately these are reasonable. The acoustics aren't optimal but to the untrained ear I believe most can't hear the shortcomings. The seats that were "Close to Me" weren't a problem in terms of elbow room but luckily there wasn't a giant around me. As far as temperature, it was relatively cool and a comfortable place to wear jeans or shorts. I'll point out it was "At Night" so the temperature might fluctuate depending on the outside temp. The show was "Just Like Heaven" as Robert Smith released deep sorrow & anger sprinkled with joy here & there. The open space in the arena allowed the light show to flourish while the crowd sung "Like Cockatoos." As for oxygen alternatives that pervade many concerts, I didn't partake nor feel "High" but it was there. I left along w/ the crowd left at roughly "10:15 Saturday Night" (j/k it was 11:20 Sun) and it was very well-mannered exiting. Overall, "A Night Like This" was enhanced by the quality of The Moody Center. The security was good, the snacks were plentiful along with the beverages, the ambiance was above average and getting around was easy. I was very satisfied with my experience. Now that I've been to The Moody Center, I'll be back at least "One More Time" for Duran Duran in a month. If you have any apprehensions or "Sinking" feelings about the venue, you'll be fine.

Yelp
We just went there for the first time this past weekend for the I heart country festival. We found parking for $10 down the street on the campus area. The walk was about 10-15 min which wasn't bad. When we finally got in there were a lot of food vendors as well as little scan and go spots for drinks and small snacks which were nice. Center was big. We had to ask a couple people where to go. The staff they hired we very friendly and helpful. We had floor seats. Seats were really nice padded folding chairs very comfortable. We had great seats. Leaving the center it didn't take too long to get to the stairs to get out and where we ended up parking made it really easy to leave the area and back to the freeway.

Yelp
Overall, I'd say this venue is awesome! I've been to 2 concerts and 1 comedy show here so far. The sound quality is good, lights and stage setups for the 3 shows I've been to so far have been great. Even sitting in the top section each time, I could still see fairly well (despite my mediocre eyesight, even with contacts). Parking around the venue isn't easy- I'd suggest doing one of the nearby parking garages that is listed in the e-mail you receive with your tickets for the event you are attending, it just makes it a lot easier. The few times I've been, there were 3 different price points in varying proximity to the venue. Usually I've done the lowest or mid-tier price point option and you have to walk about but it's not terrible. The venue itself is brand new and super nice. There are tons of bars and bathrooms, multiple food options and several grab and go options for concessions like water, sodas, candy, etc. A water is $5 and a rambler sparkling water is $6 though, which is a lot in my opinion. I haven't gotten concessions or food from there so I don't know the price points or if it's good, but Tony C's pizza is one of the options and I know I like their pizza. I need to research if you can bring an empty water bottle to fill up once inside, as not everyone wants to pay those prices for water. At the comedy show last night, they had multiple merch tables which was nice. I didn't look for merch at the 2 concerts I went to so not sure if that setup was just for this show or if that's the norm. I went into the Southwest entry and the line was super long because you have to go through a metal detector, but there isn't a table to put your phone and purse on before you walk through the metal detector, so TONS of people were getting stopped and had to put their stuff on a side table to get searched and then walk through the metal detectors again. It was sooooo inefficient and poorly planned. Frank Erwin was not set up that way, so it was very surprising how poorly this was planned. I don't know if other entrances had that same problem- hopefully not! If you are on the second floor, I'd recommend going through the East Gate entrance instead of one of the south gates.

Yelp
I got a chance to check out the moody center for UFC fight night in June. I knew from previous reviews that food and drinks were expensive. I ended up arriving later to this event so I could grab food and drinks elsewhere to save some extra cash. I did get two drinks while here and each time my husband and I spent a BS amount of $35. Wtf?! This is not because of inflation either. I guess it's the need to pay for the new big shiny building. We scored free tickets up in 210 which the seats were ok. I couldn't really see the fighters that well and mostly watched the big screens. Kind of defeats the purpose of going to live fights? The seat size and leg room was decent. Overall not super impressed and recommend eating and grabbing a few drinks ahead of time.

Yelp
Great center to see a concert but consider alternatives for parking! It can get costly if you can find parking on the street, if not.....don't be like us and end up paying $65 to end up at a hotel parking lot for about 5 hours lol. I didn't see any ramps but am sure or hopeful they meet ADA for wheelchairs accessibility or just for the injured! The halls are very roomy once you reach your lobby to your seats. There were bars on each floor so don't be like us and assume it's the only bar and buy a few drinks before climbing stairs lol. Audio was great and even though we had nose bleed seats, we were still able to view the show.

Yelp
I give the Moody a three star for not caring. We stood in line for about 30 minutes and when we were entering the building we were told that my 10 inch x 10 inch purse was TOO BIG and told us we need to go to I had a very small purse and they to us we need go around the building and didn't tell us where to go. We got there early because it was our first time there. We would have enough time to find our way to our seats and purchase t-shirts. My husband is disabled and cannot walk properly with his metal in his foot , but the attendants didn't care. When we walked around the building we stopped at the first entrance and were told that we need to go to the next door. By the time we finally entered the building and found the place where they sell T-shirts 30 min went by. Ladies, if you bring a purse, bring something super small or you will need to endure what we had to after getting in line. Another thing that was chaotic was the ride share. We thought that the drop off location was the same as the pick up, but it wasn't. Be aware of the bicycle drivers that have the two seater in the back. They wanted to charge us $100 for driving 1.5 miles. Get your ride earlier to avoid price gauging. Other than that, the Moody center has a nice layout. The balconies are very relaxing.

Yelp
This was my first time attending the Moody center for an event and I will have to admit it's a great venue for live events. We were in town from Houston Texas to watch the live UFC event and we had an amazing time. We had really good floor seats but from the looks of it every seat at this venue would've been just fine. Luckily we were able to get some floor seats at a great price. I really enjoy the venue. I do wish they had restaurants on the floor leveler at or restrooms for that matter. They didn't so we had to go up a few flights of stairs to access all of that. I will definitely come back to Austin for the UFC whenever it comes back. Great venue and a great experience. Really easy to get there from downtown Austin using an Uber or Lyft.

Yelp
1. But the parking early or you are going to walk a ways. Sit in the section 109 Dell area since it's tickets only and they have all you want food and drink wise without having to go into the main crush of people. Getting out can be a bit tricky but the escalator gets you outside and then walk around the place. I don't think they do it all the time but for Blake Shelton they had bar seats at the stage so what could be better than singling along and drinking 5 feet from the musician. Great venue even though I miss the Erwin Center

Yelp
We have been here several times, for events such as UFC fights as well as music concerts, and we have always had a blast! The venue is very clean & spacious, the staff is friendly & helpful, and the events overall are very well ran & organized (there is usually not a big line to make it through security). We would go back to the Moody Center for sure!

Yelp
I saw cirque du soleil here last night. Did you get the email about how early parking and the doors open? Yeah, I did. What did I learn? I should have left the house a lot earlier! My husband and girls have been here before (they saw the Harlem Globetrotters and Hot Wheels here) and they did have a great time then. I did love the show and the facility. I did not like the $55 parking cost! But, it's downtown so I guess this is what we have to prepare for! I'll definitely come back to check out some more events, if they aren't at the HEB Center.

Yelp
Aesthetically, it is nice. Also, like the technology used in the venue for screening and self check outs and and the concession options are good. However, all of this is overshadowed by the horrible, non-existent parking situation. I even pre-paid for parking at my first event only to get to the parking structure and was told that it was full. I was then directed to another lot, also full. Directed to a third lot--you guessed it, FULL! One hour later we are late to the concert. Second experience, we thought the first experience was awful because it was their initial opening and they didn't have all their ducks in a row yet. Well, went through the same thing. Couldn't find parking, ended up parking next to the venue for $60 so we wouldn't miss the show. Two thumbs down.

ChaKy S.

Yelp
Love the venue, there is really no bad seat as they all allow you to see the stage and performers very well. The facility is very clean. There is no ample parking as most of the parking lots and street spots are reserved for UT permits only. The garage that is close to the event center is only for those who prepaid. The attendant did not offer any assistance/suggestions for another garage. We ended up parking several blocks away, in a neighborhood, after circling the center for about 20 minutes. As a result, we missed the entire opening act-very upsetting

Yelp
We saw Billy Strings last night at Moody Center. It was my first time attending a show at the venue and I really enjoyed it. The setup feels kind of like an airport, with all the self serve drink stations. I also felt like there was a diverse selection of reasonably priced food options as well. The Moody staff was friendly, helpful and quick with their processes. We opted for the pit so we could be fully immersed in the show. I'm a cerebral type and need the smells along with all of the other sensory aspects working in unison, that's how I roll. Billy and his band of exceptional musicians took us on a 3 hour journey through a nonstop story of pure string induced hypnosis. They out performed the audience's expectations and left us all completely satisfied and exhausted to be frankly honest. We parked a few blocks down the street at the hospital. So, the cherry on top of the night was the $6.00 parking tab, best price in town.

Yelp
Food is good Seats were decent for the price - at least the show I went to The wifi was horrible. Zero connectivity. And because you're in a big cement building you're not getting cell service Biggest challenge with this place is accessibility. If you're taking a rideshare from downtown you're screwed- you have to take the highway all the way to 38th, turn around and come back to red river for drop off. Getting someone to pick you up after - all the best !

Yelp
I was excited to finally get to experience the new Moody center. We scored some cheap tickets to the Kane Brown concert before the PBR competition. First thing to note is to not use their parking garages advertised when you buy tickets. The cheapest was offered for $40 parking. We instead took an Uber and spent half that amount round trip. There are also other parking garages around that area that are cheaper. The venue was smaller than I imagined it to be and it also had quite a few concessions from trendy Austin restaurants. The prices are high, as expected. A beer was anywhere from $13-$18 and there were self serve checkout kiosks, which was convenient. I didn't have to wait in a long line to get into the venue or to get a beer. The lines to the restrooms were long at times. The acoustics for the concert were not great. I wasn't sure if this was the norm or just the setup that night.

Yelp
Do NOT buy floor tickets at this venue. People will come from the back and crowd the front of the stage and staff gives zero f@&ks. There are better venues in Austin.

Yelp
A lot of 1sts this night! 1st time to the Moody Center & 1st fight!!! Pretty interesting...it was for fighters off You Tube. We had floor seats, so I couldn't speak much on views from higher up, but as we walked in it was a pretty good view. The lighting was also awesome! I will say though be prepared to pay high dollar for drinks. I would suggest definitely pre-gaming before to avoid burning such a big hole in your pocket!
