Nice clean place that looks brand new. Ordered burgers and chips and salsa. Food was good and service was great. They have two huge projection TVs and my son and I watched the Dallas football game while we ate. Place is right across from UT and can get full fast at peak times. This was our first time here, we enjoy dining here and will be back again for sure.

Great atmosphere for young adults food and service is top notch live music was good Only issue I had is parking and but that's Austin for you We entered and exited out the back of the building, but the smell of raw sewage is really bad outside not sure what was going on.

The lighting is just right, probably the best club sandwich I've had in a long time. We came for the espresso martini by recommendation from another bar. Really affordable pricing (they do include 15% gratuity), and food was super fresh. Staff is really nice!

Fairly new to the area, and found this spot had a great Karaoke 🎤 Night on Thursdays... After a few visits however, I realized that the food was awful and the drinks are very overpriced. I was still a promoter for Thursday's Karaoke Show however, but I couldn't find one person in town who had ever heard of this place. Strange considering its location. I would say, "It's right next to The Hole in the Wall". Well, every person that I talked with knew exactly where the Hole in the Wall was....lol. That's a sign for sure... Then I met the young guy, who claimed to be the manager. He was out front puffing on a Vape, with an empty bar/restaurant behind him on a Friday Night.... Hummmm...... I think, I found the problem! A bad manager will sink your business every time..... My advise... Stay away from this place. And Go next door to The Hole in the Wall. You will be glad you did.... Besides, they have live music in the middle bar and Karaoke 🎤 7 nights a week.. The Hole in the Wall has way better drinks and drink prices. Don't forget to tip the door people too, they are awesome!!! 👍

The place is super great. You have to have the carnitas tacos. The staff and owners are very friendly and have great customer service.

Imagine my delight in the early afternoon, when The Cactus Cafe and Hole in the Wall hadn't opened and Cain and Abel's was inexplicably closed, walking along The Drag only to discover a special: $2 tequila and $2 domestics. Service was excellent and plenty friendly. The venue was clean. The music was a lively (Cuban?) mix. I'd just eaten lunch, so the food rating is speculative, but what I saw looked good! Definitely a gem.

The music is way too loud. I ordered veggie quesadillas and they were ok(I didn’t really like the type of veggies they chose for it). The quesadillas were mainly filled with bell pepper and onion and something else. I ordered a shrimp taco and it smelled so fishy and looked so light in color so I thought it’s raw (though the manager claims it’s cooked). Anyways, i asked him to redo my order and cook the shrimp more. And it came back looking the same. The shrimp is hard and so fishy. I don’t think they added enough spices to it.

Very clean and vibrant place! I stopped in midday for coffee between class and it was very peaceful. The back deck is super cool fixed with TVs, games, darts, and more. Plenty of seating but still a cozy atmosphere. Very close to campus. The staff were also very nice! I recommend visiting here.

It says open at 3pm on Thursday(11am-2am) but the doors are locked? Tried to stop in for a lunch beer but couldn't.

Random find on yelp while in the neighborhood. Clean , pet friendly, will make sure you get the order you want. Along with all this , very hospitable. Will be visited again when back in town. Also great screens to watch games.

I wanted to come here because I heard Moody's was getting torn down, and now I'm sad because I liked it and don't want it to disappear. We got free drinks for signing up for a new apartment's mailing list. The music was too loud inside, but the patio atmosphere was much better. They were playing good throwback hits, and there is free parking facing San Antonio street. We got the queso, guac, onion rings, and fries for appetizers. The queso was better than any other restaurant queso I've tried. I had the frozen peach vodka drink and the McConaughey cocktail, which were both good. The Texas Chick pizza was very dry and bland, so I do not recommend getting that.

the best management staff ever. my sunglasses were stolen and I was so upset but they treated me to a free drink and comforted me the whole time I was there. I've never seen staff so attentive to their customers. seriously such amazing treatment. if you're ever considering if you should go to moodys, you should. amazing food, amazing drinks, and most importantly, amazing staff!

Booooo tomato tomatooooo The one star is for the decor, Moodys definitely put me in a mood and not a good one. My family and I visited for the first time Thursday 5/27 @ around 5:15pm. We were greeted as we walked in server, lets us know it's self seating, and that they will be out in one moment. We sit outside on the back patio to enjoy the nice weather. It was not busy There was a group already eating and drinking seated outside also. When we walked in there was a group that looked like they were already done at the bar or ordered to go so we were basically the second table there. One of the servers came out with the menu. Let us know that we had to go back and order at the bar.No problem So my husband and I both ordered the margaritas which was disgusting it taste like they just squeezed the whole lime tree and forgot the alcohol . We were like OK leta see how the food taste about 30 minutes pass My husband asked were we supposed to go back inside and pick up the order also.....especially after noticing, they ALREADY CHARGED his card so we continue to wait but then the lime juice in our cups attracted bees so we decided to go inside. So anyways, after about 45 minutes of waiting server, brings food to our table which was not our food so we give it another 10 minutes More people started to come in, they were going up to the bar, chatting with the bartenders and servers, giving hugs, taking shots etc. so my husband, then goes up To check on our order This server then asked my husband if he was ready to check out my husband explained what happened he goes to the back comes out and says the system froze and they didn't catch it so basically, they still weren't even working on our order. We didn't just come to order lime juice with two small children,they were NOT busy. All the workers were sitting around or chatting . How could you not have caught it before hand So we left and we will not be back Thank you for the lime juice at least .... NOT

This place is fire. The service is always awesome and the wait staff is always so nice. Also there's a super cool outside seating area.

This place is pretty fun! It definitely super modern and perfect for the typically college kid. Staff was hit or miss, sometimes they would be super friendly other times not to much emotion. We got an order of mozzarella sticks and I got the El Rio Cocktail. The mozzarella sticks had a very stretch cheese pull. I really enjoyed them. The El Rio was really tasty. It was very strong on the grapefruit flavors (which I love) Overall. Not to bad!

So my rating is really a 3.5; the loaded fries and fish and chips were good, as was the Raspberry Beret cocktail. I like that there is finally a place to go close to campus with good drink specials and events like karaoke, trivia and comedy night. However, I was a little frustrated because the happy hour sign says "$5 appetizers and burgers", so I expected my appetizer to be $5 instead of full price $8.99. When I asked the guy at the bar he said the price changes on the ordering app when you go to checkout. When I got ready to leave and it didn't change, I asked again and was told the only $5 app is chips and salsa. It's not really about the extra $4 as it is just that the sign is misleading and they should remember that a lot of their customers are students on a budget. I would still go back for the drinks and atmosphere.

Horrible experience at Moody's, we called a week in advance to make a reservation for my bachelorette lunch (it was within walking distance of our airbnb and looked good online). They confirmed our reservation for 9 people. Little did we know when we arrive they tell us to sit wherever, and that we will have to order food at the bar. Luckily they had 1 table open on the patio. We ordered at the bar hoping to get our food in a reasonable time. We waited 45+ minutes for chicken fingers and cheese burgers. No one ever came over to check on us or give us an update. We eventually had to go up to the bar and ask for a refund so we could leave. Along with other people asking for refunds. It was an absolute mess and put a wrench in our day. Not sure why they would take a reservation when this is clearly not a place for that. Wish they would've been honest and told us and we would've went somewhere else. Thank God there was an In N Out down the street that came through.

Would do zero stars if possible!! Had to go to bar to order. 35 mins later we get our lunch. Cold burgers and COLD fries!! I went to the bar and asked for hot fries. As I saw our order sit in the window for at least 10 mins. Also saw 2 other tables take their food back. Not sure what the problem was but orders not correct! Wat a cluster! And added 15% TIP! Will not be back! Sad because we live a block away!!

Below average food. I could have bought heat and eat wings and pizza from HEB. No art as advertised on tik toc. Service was also below par. The ambiance was just blah! Go somewhere else

Honestly, the only reason this is getting two stars is because the frozen margarita is really strong. Decided to come during the advertised 4-7 weekday happy hour for $5 appetizers and cocktails. Upon ordering, we were told that they are changing happy hour prices despite having a sign outside advertising specific prices for items. Going up to the bar to order, the bartender is fairly rude and refuses to answer questions regarding the happy hour pricing. We order two frozen margaritas which are admittedly pretty good. Our food takes a while to come out, and we have to ask for our second entree. When we close out our food tab, the tip defaults to 20%. After closing the tab, we see a 20% "event gratuity". We are a party of two. Assuming this is for the large event occurring on the patio, we asked at the bar where we are informed that this is the standard for this establishment. This means that the default tip is 40% for someone bringing out food. There is no traditional table service here. In addition to all of this, tables were not being regularly cleaned by staff. I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant because of the good reviews, but I will not be returning. Edit: we closed out our bar tab and it ALSO has a non-optional 20% event gratuity. This means that the default is that you are tipping 80%. This event gratuity is not mentioned until you have already closed the tab.

Valentine's Day evening, day after the Super Bowl, so I was basically the only one in the place. I heard the staff at the Moxy referring several people here for food (and the Super Bowl the day before). I just needed some dinner and a cocktail and this worked out perfectly. Their Club Sandwich was absolutely perfect. Nice size, perfect ingredients and nicely toasted bread. Came with fries and they were nice enough to throw in a ranch dressing. Thanks for having me! They do have a back patio I believe but it was too busy the day before for me to get to it and this trip I was just fine at the bar.

When I think of moody's I immediately think beer towers I house (I guess I need 85 characters lame)

There's no service here, everything is done thru their app. Place order and pay, even the forced gratuity, before anyone even makes eye contact with you or says hello. Problem is, it's subject to errors. So when their app issued a "processing error" after we entered payment for our dinners, we tried again. Three times. Same message. So I go to the empty bar and ask for help. Oh no problem, we'll just order from here (well why didn't you in the first place...? but ok). So once again we go they the orders at our table- but now it's showing $10 more on the ticket. That's because the clock has now ticked over to 7:05, and happy hour is over so dinner prices are higher. So your technical errors are costing me another $10?? That is correct, I was told. I get a weird hunch so I check my credit card app. The $50 dinner HAS been charged to my card, twice! But Mr Tall Guy At The Bar says, that's not our problem, that's your bank's problem it miscommunication with our app. No he won't fix it, no he won't give me a receipt, but sure, I "should contest the charges", he says condescendingly. He does agree to give me his name and his manager's name, so yes, hell will be raised if these charges go thru and this hateful bartender plays dumb later. We left. Spent $100 and 30 minutes there, got not a glass of water or even a welcome. But they did charge their 18% gratuity. Twice.

Bar staff tried to charge my card despite the fact that I told them beforehand that I had a giftcard to pay- a giftcard FOR the restaurant given to my BY them. I was told they wouldn't be able to pay for it with the giftcard, and charged my card anyways. I had to void the charge and pay it again with the giftcard, all the while the staff told me I should have reminded them I had a giftcard. I told them how I planned to pay before I even ordered. Very weird service and rude.

Went at 4:30pm on a Thursday and we were the only ones in the building. QR code menus for food ordering, which is fine, but drinks weren't included so we had to walk to the bar and order. Why couldn't we just order everything at the bar or at the table, why split it? This place isn't big enough to be avoiding massive lines by favoring the QR code, it's just a COVID holdover that is an inconvenience for the customer until they consolidate the menus onto one platform. Minor nitpick. Food was awful, worse than cafeteria food - meat was dry and French fries were underdone and dredged in oil. We tried the happy hour food and only enjoyed the queso, so ignore the chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks. We had planned to get entrees but did not after the quality of the appetizers. They wanted to run the place like a walk-up bar but the infrastructure is not there yet and we just felt ignored the whole time - which we were unless we went to find a bartender. Staff was friendly and helpful when asked, which is the only reason this isn't a 1 star review. The biggest issue I had was that there was a 20% autograt baked into the bill that you couldn't see until you had already tipped, so we ended up giving a 38% tip with no way to change it. The experience did not earn a 38% tip, and I felt taken advantage of. I think there's a reason the place was a ghost town at 5pm. Look elsewhere for many other places with better food and service at the same prices around town.

Me and my parents came here their last day in Austin and had such a great experience! We got the loaded fries, the buffalo wings and the queso and chips. Everything was so good, kind of made me think of higher end bar food. The drinks were very good too, I got a margarita and our server told me she hand squeezed the lime juice because she didn't like using artificial and said this would taste better, it was so good! She was also very sweet and attentive to us, we had some great conversations with her. I would definitely recommend this place! Especially for students because the pricing isn't too steep and it's very close to campus.

I'm a big fan of the pizza and chicken and waffles here. The frozen drinks are great and the prices are reasonable. The outdoor patio is super nice, and they have great TVs to watch games. I've never had to wait for a table.

Charged us wrong and extra for items we didn't order and there was no table service, although we got charged an 18% tip. It sucked to keep having to go back and forth to the bar, even though we were the only customer (4 of us) in there. Now I know why we were! Super shystie to not show an itemized receipt and charge as if you have a waiter, too. Won't be going back.

The best food and drinks in this area, it has a great variety on the menu. The specials they have during happy hour are incredible, not to mention the wonderful patio they have with giant TV.

Came in on the weekend and only the brunch menu was available. Had the migas....worse migas ever, essentially it was eggs with a side of chips and side of pico. Definitely don't get the migas. Breakfast pizza was a bit better, but still just a 3. Maybe their regular menus is better.

Moody's Kitchen and Bar is so much fun! I absolutely love my experience each and every time I come. They offer awesome specials throughout the week. Have Trivia on Wednesdays and karaoke on Thursday, which I absolutely love. The outside patio is beautiful, I know I'm going to be spending a lot of summer afternoons there. The pizza, burgers and Cuban sandwich are some of my favorites. All of the staff is very friendly and helpful!

Outdoor patio seating, Astro-turf, and parking on the Drag what more can you ask for? Ordered the pizza and a cocktail - the mcconaughey. This vodka based drink is unique as it is a draft cocktail and it is carbonated and only $8. Frozen drinks start at $6.50. The pizza was perfect; thin crust with just enough chew. The sauce wasn't too tart.

What a great place for a burger. It's s pretty awesome place. My cocktail was different and delicious. Staff was friendly and the ambiance was chill. You order and pay for your food online, however you have to go inside to order your cocktails which defeats the purpose. Other than that I recommend it.

A very welcoming atmosphere/vibe. It doesn't look like a lot from the street but looks can be deceiving. I did not have anything to eat here, but my friend had the BLT with sweet potato fries and I only regret not being hungry because I'm a sucker for sweet potato fries (they looked divine). I grabbed a frozen margarita (probably my favorite drink) and it was huge for the price and had great flavor. Either the burrito I had eaten earlier absorbed the alcohol or it wasn't very potent, but I still enjoyed it. It was located right next to the hotel we stayed at, and I definitely would return if we find ourselves back in the area.

The food was mediocre and I especially did not care for the event charge and tip that were automatically put on bill for a party of 4. Very disappointed.

This is a brand new restaurant in the spot that Mezzeme used to be. I love the fact that their patio is dog friendly and they have happy hour during the UT games. Their drinks are so good and cheap, plus good food. I recommend the wings $1 each during happy hour. Their staff is friendly and the manager is very attentive. My new west campus go-to!

This bar is amazing! All the bartenders were super welcoming and their happy hour is one of the best in Austin. The service and pricing were wonderful!

This is one of the best spots in Austin. Everything I've ever gotten here has been tasty and consistently delicious. The atmosphere is delightful, and the service is always excellent. Most places have a specialty or two, but it is rare that every item is good on a menu. Order anything and everything, and you won't be disappointed. And ask for Katie's section; she's the best!

The food was very bland which surprised me since it has so many good reviews... we ordered a pepperoni pizza with mushrooms and jalapeños and the moody burger. The pizza was equivalent to a Little Caesars pizza but possibly more bland. The burger as well seemed totally unseasoned. I was expecting more of an actual restaurant style but it was self serve. Order and then pick it up and take it back to your table. The place itself is cute and they have different activities like comedy night. The sound for the mics was off, too loud but at the same time you couldn't hear well but that's probably not the restaurants fault. The prices were reasonable. I would be willing to try the place again, it may have been an off night but it was disappointing.

Best chips and salsa! The owner was cool and stopped in to make sure we were having a good time. Cool atmosphere. Loved the ping pong tables outside! It was cold this weekend and the heaters outside were awesome! This place is awesome! Don't pass it up, stop in.

Stopped in for a drink and to watch the Longhorns playing on the 2 big screens. Super friendly staff! Tony was awesome! Cute atmosphere. The drinks were delicious! They gave us free chips and salsa, which were definitely on point! When visiting Austin, I'll definitely be stopping by Moody's!

I went here during happy hour and was extremely impressed with the food and drinks, and the great prices! I had a burger, cocktails and the sriracha agave wings and everything was so delicious! I highly recommend!

Loved this place! Very cute and clean. The cocktails and food were yummy! The spinach dip, spinach salad, and burger were all delicious. Will definitely be back!

The Strawberry Salad was amazing, and the chicken I added on top of it very tender and well seasoned. The outdoor patio is also gorgeous, perfect for eating outdoors as it is shaded & has a nice television. Will definitely be back again!

We hosted our sorority date party at Moody's and had the BEST experience!! Management was the most helpful and kind people, bartenders were fantastic, and everyone had the most amazing time! I had been going to Moody's for about a year with friends and family and LOVED it! The food and drinks have always been great, and the atmosphere is always so fun. The staff made our event even better than I could have imagined! If you are ever thinking about hosting a private event or even just stopping in for a drink this is THE PLACE!

Honestly the food and drinks were fine. The lack of clarity regarding pricing was not however. A friend and I went, ordered a pizza, 5 wings, chicken/waffles, and 1 mixed drink. The total ended up being over $75 after the automatic gratuity (which was not advertised or posted) and the tip I added, not knowing there was an automatic tip. Don't come here unless you are good with getting jipped.

This place is a hidden gem meaning I've walked by it about 100times without even knowing it was there. The food is so good! I recommend the bowls and salads but everything is good.

Charged me 60 percent on an open tab after I got my card back and said bye. Saw me leaving, said goodbye and conveniently didn't want to say that they were keeping it open. Very embarrassing considering there was no one in there so they were lucky anyone gave them business. Wont come here again, am on a college budget.

Food is probably a 3/4 star but what makes this place 5 stars is the service. The staff were attentive and the manager (?) went above and beyond to make us feel really welcomed and appreciated as customers. Great interiors and ambiance is awesome. They switch up the music/dim the lights when it's on a Friday night etc.

Grace is awesome!!! I don't come here often but its such a great place I'm mad at myself for not coming enough! The classic burger schmacks and I love the nutella waffles!!!!

What a great new place!! We had a burger, pizza, wings, and guacamole and it was all GOOD! The pizza was the perfect combination of chewy and crunchy with a hint of beer! Delicious! Also, the Moody Mary was sooo good! Highly recommend it! We are in Austin on vacation and will make the trip back to Texas just to grab a bite from Moody's!
