"All-day breakfast, from “mancakes” (pancakes with bacon and sausage) to French toast sandwiches; pizza fries and jalapeno poppers; hamburger hoagies; wings; a million hot subs and sandwiches — Moogy’s has got you covered for your couch-lounging, television binge-watching nights. Order: Grubhub" - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Amazing breakfast and music, authentic atmosphere at a reasonable price. The chocolate chip pancakes are amazing! No fancy coffee, just good old cup of joe. 20$ per person for a very filling breakfast!

Google
Clean dive bar with a creative menu and board games. If the food names don’t make you laugh like the “mancakes” meat infused pancakes, playing board games sure will! This is a great place for a kid-friendly brunch. The menu is mounted on the walls. Place your order at the kitchen window and choose a game. I got the mushrooms and spinach omelette with home fries and rye toast. We grabbed coffee from Fuel next door. Perfect family style brunch option!

Moogy's is me and my partner's happy place in Brighton. We live around the corner and probably go 1-2 times a week to play darts and have lunch/dinner. The set-up is counter service for beers, sandwiches and bar food that will not disappoint. Place an order, then grab one of their many board games to play. My go-to is the Cordon's Cousin - chicken steak, bacon, swiss and ranch on a sub. I add in breakfast potatoes for a little extra oomph. HEAVEN ON EARTH. They also have enormous/delicious salads and incredible baked goods, made fresh daily by Marnie. The staff is super chill about throwing a game on for you or modifying the menu if need be. Can't recommend this laid-back, hidden gem enough!

Google
Music is indeed fire. Finally a place that’s not playing Carley Rae jepson and too loud pop. Good prices awesome space. Food was great. The person manning the counter was wearing a mask which was a relief cause I saw that conspiratorial photo about how masks suffocate people… seems they’ve recanted that. Overall I’ll be here often. Enough space to read if you wanted or hang out with friends. Not a packed place, but this is exactly what I was looking for. Photos are of the back of the bar that I didn’t see pictures before

Great place to get a quick bite to eat or sit and play some games. Eaten there a bunch and always had a good experience and good food.

Went here for the first time for takeout. didn't realize until after ordering that the cashier was not wearing a mask and this sign was on the wall. (As a note, the Department of Justice has issued an alert about these posters as a fraudulent reference to the ADA and has not issued any such signs, nor endorse their content). I tried to have a conversation with the staff working front-of-house about the sign, saying how others wearing masks makes me feel safer when going out as someone with an underlying health condition. They were not receptive and were outright anti-science, stating that masks were more dangerous than coronavirus and referring to "germ theory" and the science around masks as an opinion. I left before receiving my order. No one in the kitchen was wearing a mask either. This is honestly very disappointing. I was really excited to try their food seeing the good reviews, and the entire place has a very cool vibe. But, I simply don't feel safe returning to Moogy's.

Google
One of my all time favorite places! A quirky, cool spot with board games, good food, breakfast all day, craft beer and a welcoming and relaxed energy. Its run by some pretty wonderful humans who are always there making your food and taking care of their guests. 😊

Google
I can't recommend Moogy's enough! The food is the best comfort food you will ever have and it is very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is great and somehow caters to all ages from kids to college students to adults. You need to try this place!

Yelp
By far the best menu and best food of any sub shop in Boston I've had so far. The food selection in Boston is pretty terrible so I'm giving 5 stars in the context of Boston alone. Had a steak sub, ordered through Grubhub, they followed special instructions which is a big plus, most places completely ignore notes. Only thing I wish is that they used battered fries, everyone knows those are the best.

Tessa L.

Yelp
Cheesesteak - 3.5/5 Reuben 3.5/5 Good, chill place to grab a bite to eat on the go or to hang out and play board games with a group! The restaurant itself is pretty spacious inside and has a very laidback, casual feel to it. If you have mad cravings for a true Philly cheesesteak, this may get you the fix you need to keep existing. I do think that there could be more filling given in the sandwiches and it is a little overpriced for the amount of food that you get, but the service is quick and they are open decently late for Brighton (9p). There isn't much parking available close by, maybe a couple spots along the street and a very small lot with ~5 parking spots with short time limits. If you don't mind walking a bit, I'm sure there are spots along the surrounding side streets.

Yelp
Earlier today, my boyfriend picked up two sandwiches... he was charged $47 plus. There was no indication of the card fee that is secretly added to the tab for use of debit card... they better be damn good sandwiches. Your sandwiches were OK, but they were not $47 OK. Be more transparent with your customers, because debit cards after Covid are usually the norm. $10 debit fee? Thumbs down . Just sneaky and greedy. Never getting my money again

Harris M.

Yelp
Really great laid back spot. Cheesesteaks really taste authentic! If you get something else on the menu your first time there and are disappointed frankly you ordered wrong. Like start with the cheesesteak... also to people who complained about having to tip; you didn't have to. I did; but I typically tip 10-15% when it's not full service. Which it's not here, they just bring you your food after you order at a counter. Nice beer selection, good for takeout. Sad that the reviews are low just because of covid stuff.

Stacie R.

Yelp
Great place for a cheesesteak sub, and fries. If you eat in they have games! Fun! Also serves a limited bar menu.

Cameron P.

Yelp
This place rocks. Cheap beer and food (all of which is good!). Awesome ambiance. Good people behind the counter. Darts. They really care that you're there having fun and they'll stay open if you're still hanging out by the time they usually close up. This is my favorite neighborhood bar by far. No place even contends with it. You'll always be able to find a table and you can get two beers and a burger on Tuesdays for under $10. It's unbeatable!! Get the curly fries. Or the pickle chips. Or pretty much anything they have. It's all amazing.

sofia b.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The food is so delicious and totally worth the price. The staff were so friendly and considerate of my substitute requests. In all, it was clean, the vibes were there, and a nice family eating place

Adam C.

Yelp
This place is a solid little sandwich joint with a ton of stuff on the menu. The Pizza sub is great, the reuben is a solid choice and for the area, the pricing is quite good. Great little lunch spot that opens late on Monday.

Devon K.

Yelp
Moogy's is definitely geared towards the college aged crowd. They offer $1 PBR, tons of sandwiches, and board games galore. A friend and I went in on a Saturday afternoon and it was completely dead. We were waiting awhile until we found out that you grown menus in he back and order there as well. I went with a medium (9" Italian, fried pickles, and a fountain soda. With tip it was $25. Tipping is weird since you don't really have a server but they do bring the food to you? Still that's a lot for a meal. My sandwich was just ok. The meat was fresh but it really didn't have a lot of flavor, especially for $11. The fried pickles were good although I'm not sure how expensive they were (price wasn't on the menu). I didn't get my fountain cup right away and had to go up and ask for it after our food had been brought. Everything was decent but definitely not worth the $22 initial charge. I wouldn't come back here, but I can definitely see this being popular with the BC kids.

Kevin G.

Yelp
Great neighborhood spot with solid sandwiches, good beer selection, and it's never very crowded. Pretty sure it's been open in this area for quite some time. I love this spot for when I'm just looking for somewhere to hang out and relax. Good vibes.

Nicki L.

Yelp
I heard they did not wear masks during the pandemic which really upsets me. I decided to try anyways after restrictions were let up. I wasn't pleased. The food was not good and the workers weren't pleasant. They offer board games to play with which is fun, but they were kind of dirty and old.

Nick R.

Yelp
A friend brought myself and 4 others here because he lives nearby. What sold me was the ice cold craft beer options, the extensive food and variations at the inside ordering window, the sit-anywhere and pay-at-the-window flexibility, the nice staff, and the homey vibe that all culminates to a super comfortable experience. I don't live in Brookline but I've been back to Moogy's by myself multiple times whenever I see my barber midday at Title City, and just plop down at the bar with a Madonna IIPA with a steak & cheese to unwind. PBR tall boys & Chili/cheese/onion hot dogs are another 1,2 knockout combo for me. For me, Moogy's is a Brookline staple.

Michael G.

Yelp
Really love Moogy's to be honest. Solid portion sizes and atmosphere is great. One of my favorite spots in the area. Giving this a 1-star because I went in recently and the entire staff (kitchen crew + counter attendant/server) were not wearing masks/gloves/etc. Couldn't even find soap or hand sanitizer. I get it's not easy right now, but other places are abiding by the guidelines and there isn't a reason why a sub/sandwich place can't do the same.

Kristian B.

Yelp
Still loving Moogy's. Their gigantic veggie subs are one of my favorite things in the world.

cindy j.

Yelp
Moogy's has become our neighborhood pub. We end up at the bar drinking $ drafts a few times a week. My favorites on the menu are the fried pickles, cheese sub, and the veggie burger in a sub roll. The decor is funky, the wait staff are interesting and efficient, the prices are great, and there's even a fireplace in the back room. The only problem I have ever had with Moogy's is the extremely loud college crowd on the weekend or on a game day. Luckily we're within walking distance!

Chris O.

Yelp
Atmosphere: 5 - The best. Whenever people visit Boston and need a bite to eat, I usually recommend this gem. It is a chill spot, where the lights never get too high. The Service: 4.5 - You order food at the windows and the bartender takes any alcoholic beverage, so there are essentially two spots in the restaurants to place your order. It is never too crazy in there, so you always get your order fairly quickly. Everyone is super nice! Food: 4.5 - Must get the C3PO. If you don't know what it is, then go find out. Food is delish! Also, they have specials during the weekdays and they always serve breakfast. Overall Score: 5

Rosa M.

Yelp
If I could give them less than one star, I would. I first visited Moogy's pre-covid and the food was great! I went in to order some takeout the other day, and not one employee was wearing a mask. I asked the man at the register about it and he simply replied "no, we don't wear masks". I left. I would love to give them five stars as the food was excellent, but until they start following massachusetts health guidelines and taking their customers wellbeing seriously, I won't be back.

Sandra S.

Yelp
Stopped here for breakfast on a Sunday. They have interesting menu items and the food was good. Service wasn't particularly friendly.

Lisa V.

Yelp
I love the food but please be advised employees and customers are not required to wear masks.

Paul G.

Yelp
Damn. I love this place, but they won't wear masks. Wonder how severely they violate health and safety protocol if they won't even wear a mask during a pandemic. Bummer.

Ben L.

Yelp
A great restaurant with a delicious menu and fun environment. We always love getting the Tom Boy and the Hot Chick sandwiches along with some Old Bay fries. Well worth the visit.

David M.

Yelp
There's a wall of basic board games and a wooden floor that creaks when you walk on it. It's poorly lit, but there's a restroom that's clean. The music is classic, and the atmosphere makes you feel just right. This place does their own corn dogs and they carry downeast. Overall, it's a great place to sit down and be alone in public. Also great to bring a few friends. Only gripe is I wish they had more on tap.

Sondra L.

Yelp
I have been here with my husband a friends a lot of times for burgers night. They have IPAs for a dollar and 2-dollar burgers every Tuesday and it's a decent burger. They have Wingin' Wednesdays too, the wings are good. If you're in for a cheap meal with a lot beers, this is a place to go. They also show sports in their Tv too.

M E.

Yelp
I cannot recommend Moogy's more. I ordered a ridiculously over stuffed omelette and said add the cost of any more eggs needed. They did it with a very kind note that it was the biggest one ever made. Unfortunately the GH stole it. I have cameras. The GPS lied. I called GH and it was remade. I know we are all in the worst situation. But trust in Moogy's. Quality staff and food. I am not rich cuz of dementia but how I can I give the staff, cooks everyone a small gift. I used to work at the langham hotel for 36 years. They deserve compensation. Mark in Boston

Mike C.

Yelp
Brought the wife and kids here for the first time, I had been before. We all loved it. Kids got fries, grilled cheese, and an Italian. We ordered a Steak and Cheese, and a BU with onions and peppers, to split and Curley fries. The BU was our favorite. Can't wait to go back.

Ralph F.

Yelp
I love Moogy's sandwiches and would eat there every week, but none of the staff wear masks--cooks, counter staff--no one. When I asked about this, I was told that if I don't like it, I could leave. This attitude, when there are almost 5,000 COVID cases a day, bothers me. I won't be eating there for a while. Two stars off for lack of masks, though that won't change their behavior, but at least other diners are warned of their carelessness.

Sarah N.

Yelp
This review is not about the quality of the food. The food is great, and the service is too. HOWEVER: we went to pick up a food order, and noticed that none of the kitchen staff were wearing masks. When we inquired, they said "We are exempt from wearing masks in the kitchen because we have asthma." I have asthma, and there is no such exemption. If they cannot wear masks, they should be staying home, not breathing over other people's food preparations. We will return ONLY once vaccinations are completely rolled out (or when Moogy's decides to enforce masks in the kitchen) because we do not feel this false exemption is safe, and just wanted people to be aware.

Erin E.

Yelp
Love to come here for a beer and a sandwich. So relaxing and they now have a bar which makes it that much more my scene. You can play all kinds of board games that they have. Super fun for friends or family. Last few times I was there it was not over crowded at all. And the tables turn over quickly since it's an order and grab a seat type place (unless you sit at the bar, then it's full service)

Evan C.

Yelp
Moogys is just the best. Simple as that. The food is consistent and delicious. They mostly specialize in subs and breakfast food served all day long. The laid back environment invites you to kick back with friends, enjoy a beer, and play one of the many board games available to play. If you're lucky enough to be there when they have the brown sugar butter cookies make sure you buy one. No, buy 2. You will want a second one later I assure you. Eat here. They are kind and friendly and make a killer steak and cheese. Only downside is they close at 10, this place would be a perfect late night snack spot if it was just a little bit closer to Cleveland Circle or BC

Lydia H.

Yelp
DOLLAR PBR'S my PEEPS!!! Hella beers on deck, wine & BOARD GAMES?! Yes PLEASE! It's basically my house but with better food options.

Gary H.

Yelp
Perfect example of a college bar. I always get a beer and an atomic bomb - essentially an egg omelette on a hoagie bun with salsa and sausage. This place is inexpensive, with good sandwiches, and a decent selection of beer and spirits. Quirky, grungy-but-safe ambiance. The best sort of place to meet some friends and soak up a few beers.

Allie M.

Yelp
This spot is serving takeout during covid. Unfortunately, the chefs in the kitchen were both not wearing masks at all.

Roberto G.

Yelp
It's a good place for cheap drinks and cheap food. They have a pretty good Philly cheesesteak and I've been meaning to try their breakfast menu for a while as well

Jim Y.

Yelp
None of the employees wear masks. Nor was the only other customer ordering before me. For these reasons, I will not be back. Wearing masks is such a simple step we can all take to help get back to normal sooner. Not wearing masks in public is simply ignorant and un-American. Shame on you Moogy's.

Ariana J.

Yelp
Even though it's a bit dark in there at night, I have alway enjoyed Moogy's because the food is good & filling. The menu items are named uniquely to the area (like the Brookline salad) & some are unique to Moogy's (like the Sugar Daddy which is a Monte Cristo) I have yet to try the Whacha-ma-callit banana omelet, but it is on my list!

Amelia B.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, but the food was....just bad. Hope things improve in the future. Quick service and large portions, though, if that's your thing.

Michael W.

Yelp
Walking in you might think this place might not have good food. You couldn't be more wrong! The food was outstanding. They even had gluten free options! (Not an allergy but a choice) I had a burger and sweet potato fries. Dogfish IPA 60 min was the IPA of the day. Family had awesome pancakes. Great experience. My son said definitely coming back as will we!

Sara R.

Yelp
DO NOT EAT HERE! They have a sign in the building advocating not to wear face masks (although currently required in MA). Inside, no employees are wearing masks or gloves. You can see into the kitchen where they are also not using masks or gloves (Preparing food requires gloves!). No practice of social distancing. I have no idea how the food is as I decided it's not worth the risk during a global pandemic.

Katherine C.

Yelp
Such a great spot! I love the full Monty. It's very satisfying and even a medium or small gets me full! I love the people and I love the cool hang out decor! Stop by for a delicious sub and a great time!

Perri V.

Yelp
I can't believe I didn't discover this place until recently. So. Good. It would easily be 5 stars if there had been anyone working at the bar, and then if the person who finally showed up to work at the bar learned to pour a beer. The food is amazing. You can literally get any sandwich you could ever want here. I've been twice and gotten the Phantom Royale and the Mini-Me, which were both awesome. What's not to love about BBQ sauce and onion rings on your sandwich? The service is relatively quick and the food is a good price. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other things on the extensive menu (including breakfast!).

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
I'll be calling the town to report that none of the employees here wear masks. Completely unacceptable. Also, the music is impossibly loud (and impossibly bad).

Jason M.

Yelp
The food is good, the restaurant is clean, the people are nice, and everything is dirt cheap including the beer. You may have to listen to some buzzed college kids now and again, but don't come to a place so close to BC if you don't want that lol. Moogys is a nice little hole in the wall, I don't get there enough, but its legit.

Noah L.

Yelp
Easy to get to. Hard to leave. Moogy's is a once in a lifetime sandwich shop. (Scratch that - breakfast joint) oh wait it's a bar too! We are talking everything from dollar PBRs to delightfully bomb mimosas. Sandwich creation is Moogies signature. Cold cuts and traditional hoogies are contrasted with whimsical imaginative sandwiches. Mother child reunion - chicken and egg Sangy. Fry choices are optimal. All the heavy hitters are present. Top quality staff. Tons of selection for entertainment ranging from board games to Olympic diving on tv. And last but not least, do yourself a favor for me. Follow @moogysgoodeats on insta. It will make work days more manageable knowing you have this joint in your back pocket.

Lisa K.

Yelp
Moogy's is great. It's conveniently located, has an excellent selection of sandwiches, and even has beer. It's a great place if you want to pick up a tasty sandwich, or turn it into a sit-down meal. The only downside is they are sometimes a little slow to get your order out.

Kevin M.

Yelp
Let me begin by saying Moogy's is the perfect meal for the typical drunken stooper after a night of partying or out at the bar, when your coming home and just need to get something in your stomach. Moogy's provides that outlet perfectly due to it's location of Brighton-Allston, somewhat sandwiched between the two local schools: Boston College or Boston University (you may have heard of them ). The type of greasy late night bar food that you've been searching for. The Phat Philly is obviously a Philly cheese steak that is not only the best one in the local area, but dare I say competes with any other in the greater Boston area. The next time your coming home after a long night, give Moogy's a try.

Aisha N.

Yelp
I order from them every Saturday! Their cheese steak is something I always crave. I absolutely love their breakfast options as well. Delivery is always fast. I get chocolate chip pancakes EVERY time. I always feel skimped when I get my delicious sausage in a sandwich though. Also, every time I get delivery (5 times now) they don't have a bag for the drinks. So if you have to walk up flights of stairs like I do, bring down a plastic bag to carry them. That's okay, Moogy's, that's okay!

D M.

Yelp
Nice decor, but I thought the food was bad (bland meat and the worst bread I've had in Boston) and not worth the money. Since that matters to me, I don't think I'll be going back. I can see how it can be nice for groups looking for a place to play games though.

Corrie H.

Yelp
This is the best place in the area to grab a sandwich. They have a huge selection where anyone from vegan to carnivore can find something to enjoy. The curly fries are DELICIOUS. You can't go wrong with the $1 PBR. There are lots of games available so you and your table can entertain yourselves. They are also always playing the Sox games.

Marcus A.

Yelp
Moogy's has some pretty unique subs but overall I find the food too greasey

Hugh Q.

Yelp
Great local spot with excellent food and staff. The chicken Caesar salad or full monty are my go-tos
