At the start of a long travel day we had a quick and delicious breakfast of the egg, bacon, and cheddar wrap with coffee. The staff were friendly and fast, and the food was hot and filling.

Airy, bright, and welcoming. There is some construction still happening inside as of Dec 2017 but the empanadas are great and serve as a great new E'ville eating option.

A great place in Emeryville for coffee and light snacks. Their empanadas are delicious, but you can't go wrong with anything on their menu. If you can find parking its a must go to in the area.

Oh Moomie's, what a fantastic little gem at the heart of Emeryville. I had the opportunity to visit this place multiple times and tried all their empanadas, several sandwiches, pastries, and mochas. The food is fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. My wife especially loves their scones, which are soft and freshly baked daily. To me, the main event is their mocha. I am absolutely in love with it every time I get to have one (which is too often), and it is still the best mocha I found in the East Bay to date!!

Service was fast and welcoming. They did a great job with the interior and I believe all the previous construction is finished now. I had a veggie empanadas (spinach and Gruyere cheese). Given that I felt the price was high for a single empanadas, and it did not taste good, I did not think it was worth the visit. May visit again if they get new veggie flavors. ** Edit changed from 3 stars to 5 stars- tried the kale salad and the chicken empanadas and they both were so tasty!

Recently started working in Emeryville, and stumbled upon this spot by chance. So happy I did! The staff is super friendly and helpful. I tried the Spicy Beef Empanada, and ordered a second one to go after trying it! The chimichuri sauce is SOOO delicious! Also took home an asiago scone. The hot chocolate has the perfect hint of sweetness. Definitely will be become a favorite breakfast spot!

Moomies is simply delicious. Everything from the empanadas (and dipping sauce), to the sandwiches, salads and various hand-made coffee-based drinks is five stars! With friendly staff, convenient hours of operation and overall happy vibe, this place is a must and a true neighborhood gem. Great job, Moomies team!!!

Last week, I went to Oakland for a meeting from Rosevillle. I know that this area is the only area for good quality food in California outside of Southern California. So I looked for an empanada place before driving home. I tried several places before this and after this place. By the way, my wife and I are of South American (Chilean) descent. We KNOW empanadas. We MAKE empanadas at home when we need to reconnect to our family roots! I can tell you that these empanadas are as good as you can get! Even though the filling (beef) is of the Peruvian style (different than Chilean), the taste and subtle seasoning are sublime. But, what really really impressed me was the dough! It was light, soft and flaky. The taste was just what it should be for an authentic homemade product that a Chilean mom would make! I bought some for my family at home. My normally picky wife was impressed too! I will be returning soon. (And, yes, a slightly cheaper price WOULD make these empanadas more accessible. But, the other places in the general Berkeley area really can’t hold a candle to this product.)
