Butchertown’s fast-casual Vietnamese spot draws daytime crowds for pho, banh mi, and rice bowls. Recognized in local best-of lists and the city’s tourism guides, it’s a quick, bright lunch with a patio and late-night hours on weekends.

Google
This always comes up in any list I look up when searching for good Vietnamese food in Louisville. The location is ideal and there is plenty of parking ( I was there on a Saturday). The food was not the best Vietnamese food I have ever had. They have some perks in that they have a full bar and a great outdoor , plus they are open late. My pho was cold and the shaken beef pieces were too big and inedible. The flavors were ok and the spring roll was inedible. Would I return? Maybe after a drunk night looking for some fries because those actually looked decent judging from the table across from us. Also, use the disposable utensils, the standard utensils were dirty I have included a picture of one that I had not used my water to scrape and a new “clean one” we asked for. The one with the least stains is the one I cleaned with a napkin and water.

Google
Wings and fries were great. Cocktail menu is approachable for people who aren’t familiar with Vietnamese flavors. Bartenders are knowledgeable and can walk you through all these new flavors you’re trying. Atmosphere is amazing and authentic. The lanterns are a beautiful touch.

Google
One of the coolest spots in Butchertown. Dinner here on a warm day with the doors open is unbeatable. A bit pricey but worth it for the quality of the food. Service is fast and food is delicious. The pho broth is some of the best I’ve had.

Google
Aesthetically vibrant and Beautiful spot!! Lots of indoor and outdoor space. Loved the Garlic noodles with lemongrass pork and the Salted Plum cocktail!🔥

Google
Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Only had appetizers for a social event, so i cannot comment on the full service food. Apps were decent, fresh. I would give it a FULL try. A good place to meet up with friends while out and about.

Traveling Kafka

Google
Counter service style pho place. The pho its self was decent but had no depth in the taste. Crunchy roll and noodles was delicious. The atmosphere was unique. And makes it a worth a visit. Thai tea was good.

Google
Very good quality Vietnamese food in Louisville. The atmosphere is really fun. There is a fairly large selection on Vietnamese dishes as well as some American dishes. The bar is also great with good cocktails. I would highly recommend eating here especially during the summer.

Google
The atmosphere and staff were great, and we loved how inviting the interior was. However, wife and I have had plenty of great Vietnamese food, and lots of the dishes here missed their mark in terms of flavor compared to the other great Vietnamese restaurants in town. The pho broth was lacking, and the lemongrass pork noodle bowl had too much salad and other filling greens, and lacked enough noodles. The appetizers and drinks however, were great. Overall, food could be much better for the price of the dishes.

Yelp
In town for a concert. We decided to go for pho. Didn't get pho but what we got was lick-the-bowl-clean-if-it-were-socially-acceptable good. This place is DELISH. And the music is pretty good too. Definitely recommend and I will be back if I come down for another show!

Yelp
What a sunny, colorful spot! Love the hanging lanterns -- if it would have been just a little warmer, would have sat outside on the charming patio. The food was fresh and delicious. My lemongrass chicken banh mi had tons of flavor, and even the bread was fab. Also shared pork spring rolls with my friend, and they were great, too. I could have sipped the dipping sauce straight up. Excellent vibes and Vietnamese food.

Yelp
I dined at Pho Ba Luu again, and still give a 3 star rating. When I arrived around noon there was no line at the counter so I was able to walk right up to order. I chose the lemongrass noodle bowl and added a spring roll to the bowl for $16+. Food is prepared in a line and most of the items are premade. I was surprised at the smaller portion of my meal. The chicken didn't have a lemongrass flavor and I could tell it had been prepared way in advance. The pickled items were the star of the dish. I want to love and support this place but the food just doesn't compare to some of the other Vietnamese restaurants in the community.

Yelp
We first went to Pho Ba Luu on our 2021 trip to Louisville because they had gluten free options, and who doesn't like pho? The food didn't wow me, but the food was solid and inexpensive -- $15 for a large bowl of pho which was very filling. (The majority of the menu is under $15.) When we went to Louisville in 2023, we went back to Pho Ba Luu (twice!). I also discovered that they sold wine! If you want a cheap, filling meal (and a glass of wine), Pho Ba Luu is the place to go. Yelp
I've already been back twice! Whether it's take out or it's eating out this is the spot! The lemongrass seasoned tofu sauté noodle bowl is everything to me! It's vegan, fresh, deliciously flavorful & filling! The service is great and always kind! And if it's summer I can't recommend sitting in the back patio enough - there's sun, shade and plenty of room!

Yelp
Craving Thai food on a beautiful day? Come to Pho Bao! I love the bahn mi, but in the winter, the pho is amazing! Greta patio, solid local drink choices, and super fresh, flavorful food.

Yelp
I'm convinced that Pho Ba Luu, a Vietnamese restaurant on East Main Street, is exactly what is needed in this insane season of sickness. On the tail-end of a COVID quarantine, we are still masking and therefore unable to dine-in any establishment. Third-party delivery services have become our new best friends. Sometimes weary of ordering Pho via delivery, Pho Ba Luu continues to impress. I'm not a vegetarian, but do like to substitute for other proteins at times. I ordered the Vegetarian Pho because the tofu is marinated to my liking and lemongrass is always appealing when I'm feeling unwell. My husband had Beef Pho, which I opted not to taste, but he was pleased. We shared Shrimp Spring Rolls. An order of Shrimp Spring Rolls comes with two steamed shrimp rolled in rice paper with vermicelli noodles, lettuce, basil, mint and bean sprouts. It's served with bean sauce or gluten free soy sauce. The Vegetarian Pho (pictured below) has lemongrass marinated tofu with carrot, Napa cabbage and mushrooms in house-made vegetable broth with rice noodles, scallions, white onion and a medley of vegetables and herbs. It includes the expected accruements, bean sprouts, jalapeños, basil, lime, hoisin, and Sriracha sauce (per my request). I ordered through Uber Eats and, in my opinion, this restaurant is more affordable than similar establishments. Our food was packaged perfectly, fresh, and hot. It was substantial and satisfying. I felt significantly better after eating. I'm not saying it's the cure for COVID, but it's worth giving it go on a cold day, a rainy day, when you have the flu, or just because it's downright delicious.

Yelp
I haven't had a lot of good Pho....buttttt THIS PLACE is off the chain! Flavor basket of yumminess! Tender chicken and delicious deep chicken flavor. Everything tastes very fresh. (Not shown) they give you a rolled up brown bag with basil, fresh cut jalapeños and bean sprouts that you add on the top! Let me tell you - dump it all if you like that spice because they don't use punk jalapeños!!! Soooo good! The rice noodles were perfectly cooked as well. The place is very nice, staff is awesome and super sweet. It's quiet and nice to slurp in the deliciousness and have a good conversation. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Our friend had the beef pho and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife had the veggie dumplings and she said they were delicious!

Yelp
Pho is my ultimate comfort food. Sick? Eat pho. Cold? Eat pho. Sad? Eat pho. Dehydrated? Eat pho. Lacking in salt? Eat pho. Hankering to practice your chopstick skills? Eat pho. Louisville has many excellent places to find this magical bowl of soup, and Pho Ba Luu is one such place. My dining companion and I both ordered the vegetarian pho (also gluten free for those to whom this is important). The vegetables were cooked perfectly, the noodles were not too soft nor too tough, and the tofu (beautifully seasoned and fried) held its own, which is saying something when it's served in a bowl of broth. Speaking of - the broth is what sets Pho Ba Luu's veggie pho apart. This broth is complex, multi-layered, savory, and topped with a generous splosh of toasted sesame oil. I am relatively certain I could drink a gallon of it with ease. Pricing is reasonable, $13 per bowl. Only 2 minor drawbacks: 1. More broth - those bowls are big - fill them up! 2. Hotter - the pho arrived hot-ish, but quickly cooled to room temp. Some steam and tongue burning would not have been unappreciated. That broth though - I'm already planning my return visit.

Yelp
Ambience at this place was fun and service was friendly and good. Unfortunately though the food was mid and overpriced. Spring rolls were meager and no greens in them, also had a weird taste. Mango iced tea was bitter. I had the beef pho, it was fine but again very meager accoutrements that came with it. If you're looking for legit vietnamese, I suggest elsewhere. If you're looking for more of a quick bite, this place will do

Yelp
Stopped at Pho Ba Luu as one of the few restaurants on the way and close to the Speed Museum. This is a "quasi fast food" restaurant in an industrial storefront where you order at the counter from their Vietnamese driven menu and it is delivered to your table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options. Self-serve fountain drinks are available as a drink option with your meal. I ordered the grilled chicken noodle bowl with a crispy roll. The bowl was average. The fish sauce that they use was not very flavorful and the dry chicken and fresh salad portion was a wee small for $13. The crispy roll which you can also get as a starter was crispy but petite and not that good. The banh mi sandwiches though were reportedly good by my fellow lunch mates and probably would have been a better choice. I suspect the menu is prepared more for the American palate than the authenticity of the Vietnamese cuisine. Service was friendly and helpful, but limited to the counter people who took your order and the servers that delivered the food. Your order is executed within a reasonable amount of waiting time to when it gets delivered to your table. However, the food gets delivered piecemeal as it is ready rather than when the order is completely done.

Yelp
Very warm day out, but refreshingly cool inside. Warm greeting upon entering. Modern interior. The food smells great. So many good things on the menu to choose from! I ended up getting the Shrimp Spring Rolls and Chicken Curry Rice Bowl. The spring rolls were perfect and so tasty. The Chicken Bowl was smooth and creamy with just the right flavors. I definitely have to come back to try more things

Yelp
What better way to warm up on a cold rainy night is a bowl of Pho. A friend joined me to share a few tasty dishes. Super friendly smiling staff gave a welcoming reception. Order at counter brought to the table. Poached tender chicken with perfectly cooked veggies, rice noodles in a tasty broth served with side Serrano chillies. Delicious Veggie fried dumplings cooked perfectly crisp with a sweet/ spicy dipping sauce. (4 per order). Noodle Bowl of grilled chicken with vermicelli noodles and crisp lemon grass, vegetables. Rice bowl of tender shrimp with shredded carrots, diced green onions. The rice texture was a type I hadn't had before. The dish was in need of some heat which a handy bottle of sriracha brought the dish together. With a satisfied hunger we found ourselves happy with go boxes in hand. Definitely recommend! Side notes: Industrial feel vibe. Outside patio. Clean facilities. Parking was limited on a busy main one way street. If there was a parking lot we didn't notice.

Yelp
I really loved this place but recently noticed portions have become smaller and prices have increased. Quality and authenticity is fair.

Yelp
Passing through town, was looking for vegetarian food on a weekday evening. Walked past this place and it immediately invited us in. The vegetarian food options were absolutely great, especially the pho which was so flavorful. Spacious place to enjoy a meal. Great service too. Yelp
Recently visited this restaurant for the first time and the food was so good and the service was quick! I got the chicken pho and the pork dumplings, the chicken pho was pretty standard pho, but good and the pork dumplings OMG! They were so good especially with the accompanying sauce that went with it, it was so good I started to dip my chicken from the pho in there. Overall, the service was pretty well, I felt a little rushed by the cashier when ordering and the dish pan was piling up pretty quickly and nobody seemed in a rush to clean it up. Besides that, though, the tables in the restaurant were clean and they had some nice pop music playing so it made for a pretty nice experience overall.

Yelp
Fast and comfortable and the people are super nice love it They care about people health and they suggest the best food for u I have a beef pho and it's was super delicious

Yelp
In town for work and decided to check out this spot. I ordered the Pork Bahn Mi and Mango ice tea. The sandwich was $8 which felt like a steal. When my sandwich arrived I was underwhelmed the length of the bread was rather short and the filling seemed rather skimpy. The sandwich was just okay, I would not order again. There also seemed to be some type of glaze on the inside of the bread (brown in color and shiny) maybe the house made pate but I'm not quite sure.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for a convenient stop before a LouCity Soccer match; and as it was a chilly night, something warm seemed appropriate. Pho Ba Luu is in an old, seedy area of Butchertown - parking is a challenge - as well as navigating trash in the sidewalks. Pho Ba Luu is a counter order restaurant; you place your order, pay, get a number for your table and in a few minutes your meal is served piping hot. The restaurant was busy ... with both eat-in and take-out diners. So clearly, the area doesn't impact the business significantly. There's a few stir fry dishes, several types of Bahn Mi sandwiches and of course, Pho. If you are Vegan they have several options. We ordered Chicken Pho. As others have noted, the broth is a bit on the light side of flavor - but packed with solid pieces of white chicken breast and rice noodles. You're given a side bag with basil, sprouts & jalapenos. HOT jalapenos. On the table you'll find chili oil and sweet hoisin sauce. I gave my wife the basil (don't like it) and she gave me the jalapenos. That's a win-win! The service is exceptionally friendly. And the customer base is diverse - and guests from all walks of life seem to find a common bond for our love of pho. If the pho's bone broth was just a tad more flavorful, this would be an easy 5 star stop for very affordable pho.

Yelp
Ate here the other day and the food was great! Great pho and the portions are decent. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Cindy W.

Yelp
This is a self-serving restaurant with spacious indoor and outdoor seating. We started with the beef summer roll, which was a bit bland. For entrees, I got the grilled chicken vermicelli - it tasted way too healthy. And the chicken was a bit dry. The beef pho that my partner got was better, but the pho soup was just ok. Having been to many Vietnamese restaurants in California and New York, this one wasn't my favorite!
google avatar

Kellyo O.

Yelp
Crazy how my review from last summer is MISSING. I believe I gave Pho Ba Luu 2 or 3 stars but I'm moving it down. Tasteless food, less value. Not sure what happened from the time they opened to current but this is a no-go for me now. Whole family went to get take out for dinner and everyone said it was not good. I can't argue so here we stand. Sorry!
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
This cafeteria style restaurant was clean and comfortable. I ordered the chicken pho soup bowl. I thought it was okay but not as good as i was expecting. The broth was good not great. The noodles were tacky and hard in the middle. The thinly sliced chicken was dry and not seasoned. Vege topper was perfect as was the really awesome Thai iced tea. I am hoping next time the food is better. Will definitely try the tea again!!

Yelp
Great fast casual spot for lunch. You order at the counter, and they bring it to your table. Service was quick and all of the workers were super nice. Parking was a challenge, but we did find an open spot on Main St. Plenty of seating inside for the busy lunch crowd. I got the Vegetarian Pho, which was one of the best I've ever had. Everything was so fresh and the broth was perfect. Not oily like some I've had. Co-worker got the Honey Sriracha wings, which he said are outstanding. Two other coworkers got the Shrimp Fried Rice and the Asian Cabbage Salad. Everything was so good! We will return.

Yelp
We enjoyed our first visit to Pho Ba Liu. Very nice open space in a growing area of town; nice back patio option as well. The staff was friendly and helpful. We tried the dumplings, a rice noodle bowl, chicken curry rice (which was a little sauce heavy), and the beef pho-- each item was solid-- not incredible, but still quite good. Will definitely plan to return!
google avatar

Patrick Z.

Yelp
I've only been here once, but damn was it a good lunch. We were doing work at the Copper & Kings Distillery right around the corner. The staff recommended Pho Ba Luu to us. For good pho, you really need 4 things to be good: the broth, the noodles, the protein, the veggies. Rarely does one place do a great job of all 4 of them. Ba Luu is one of those places. We ordered the beef pho, chicken pho, and the spring rolls. Everything was as expected. One of the few times I could say there were zero complaints about anything. I'll be going back here for sure next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Due to some unexpected illness on our trip so we decided to just to stay at the hotel and get take out. Thought this place sounded good. Got a couple of pork bahn mi, shrimp spring rolls, crispy egg rolls, and beef pho for the family. The egg rolls were small almost nuggets size, and way over fried. Black marks all over them. The spring rolls were stuffed with noodles, no veggies, and 2 pieces of shrimp, the meat in bahn mi tasted great but the baguette was over baked and was like hard toast. The pho was a little tasteless but fine. On a positive note, our order was placeD, cooked, and delivered in about 40 minutes. In the end, the meal filled out hungry bellies.
google avatar

Clara S.

Yelp
Had a craving for some Vietnamese food but my plane was delayed and I got into the city late - Uber Eats to the rescue with Pho Ba Luu! Got some pork spring rolls (not fried), and Pork with pickled veggies over vermicelli noodles. It hit the spot - only wish the food was hotter but it was delivered so I gotta make due with what I got. It was yummy and glad I didn't have to settle for hotel food! Fish sauce is actually quite light- not as fishy as some I've had before. I also feel that this wasn't as salty as some other Vietnamese food I've had - so it was light. Some hot sauce may have made this the perfect meal!

Asheville H.

Yelp
Kinda hipsterish. Not very authentic but workable if you're close by. Might try to find a more authentic place tho
google avatar

Nicole G.

Yelp
The pho regardless of whether it's chicken or beef was amazing! No need for extra condiments or sauce. I also got the spring roll and noodle bowl and they were good too :) The employees were so nice and attentive when taking away our finished plates. I would definitely come here again. Their prices are also very reasonable!

Yelp
We were passing through Louisville, a town we had never been through, so we found a pho restaurant! the spring rolls were good, with a sauce which was a bit different, kind of like fish sauce with a kick. Pho was great. Iced Vietnamese coffee was one of the best we have tried, especially for one that was pre-made and not dripped at the table. The restaurant is in a quaint little district called Butchertown. Parking was a bit tricky, but worth it.
google avatar

Briana L.

Yelp
Ordered delivery from this location. Was in Louisville for a conference and was craving Vietnamese food. This was the most reasonably priced near our hotel. We ordered the chicken vermicelli bowl, chicken pho and fresh shrimp spring rolls. We received our order and the quantity was tapas sizes. The taste of the food was ok. Not nearly enough protein for one person. And the quantity was very small. We were still hungry after.

Nat P.

Yelp
The place is super cute but the food was lacking. The grilled pork in the bun was dry and bland, the fish sauce was lacking in flavor. The veggies that came with the pho and bun had brown spots. The pot stickers and egg rolls were also meh. I appreciate the service and the space but wouldn't return.

Yelp
Occasion: Doordash dinner with my daughter and bestie Once again we found ourselves wanting something interesting for dinner, but without leaving the house. Enter Pho Ba Luu... My friend said that they were a new popular place and she likes them, so we decided to try. We had a round of Bahn Mi sandwiches, one pork, two egg (but one of those without pate), some spring rolls, and some honey sriracha wings. The spring rolls were what you'd expect. The chicken wings were very popular with my daughter and friend, but I'm not a chicken wing fan. They smelled good and everyone who ate them seemed to enjoy. I had the egg bahn mi made traditionally (with pate.) OMG was this a delicious sandwich. The bread was perfect, the yolk was runny, and the rest of the contents of the sandwich all worked together well. I wasn't able to finish it (because spring rolls) but I think that was a me problem. Would I return: Yes Would I recommend: Yes, with the caveat that I have only had delivery from there Service Dog Grade: N/A because Doordash

Yelp
The environment is warm & friendly, even the staff is welcoming! The food is excellent especially the PHO!!! Would recommend going there!

Yelp
Visited for a casual Saturday evening dinner. We found plenty of one hour street parking out front of the building. You order at the counter for service and when it's ready they will bring it out to your table. Staff was very friendly and helpful while ordering. They have plenty of other options if you are not in the mood for pho. We each tried the beef pho. Soup and ingredients were very fresh. They leave the basil, lime, jalapeños, and bean sprouts on the side for you to add if you desire. We didn't end up ordering drinks, but they have a full bar available including draft beer. It looks like they have a wonderful outdoor seating area that we will definitely return and see when it gets warmer.

Yelp
We eat here frequently when near East Market and Main Street in Louisville Kentucky. Best Pho and fresh food. Everything is great We were going to eat down town on fourth street live but the staff kicked us out of line Guy Fierier smokehouse So we went out of our way to a family favorite. Staff is very friendly here.

Yelp
Pho Ba Luu essentially resurrected me from the dead; that alone deserves four stars on Yelp. The lady and I weren't at our best when we woke up after Bourbon & Beyond. Although a (pho)nomenal weekend, we were exhausted from three straight 12 hours days at the fairgrounds. Insert a hard-hitting Yelp search for pho in Downtown Louisville. Pho Ba Luu was one of the first to appear. What we appreciated about this place was that it was a super casual, order at the counter restaurant. In most cases, Vietnamese joints are table service. This was Chipotle for pho. Beef Pho - Overall, extremely tasty. Maybe on the salty side for my taste, but I understand pho is usually this way. I enjoyed the crisp bean sprouts and Thai basil (served on the side in a paper bag). The broth was hot, salty goodness. Sriracha and Hoison made a memorable cameo, too. The beef was tender, and I thoroughly enjoyed the noodles. The space is large and in charge. We were there during an off hour and all the customers were sitting outside. They have a great outdoor space, a small bar, and tons of indoor seating. Service was friendly and they delivered the food to our table. Not too shabby!

Yelp
I loved this place!! I had never had pho before and I was pleasantly surprised! The service was good and it's a really cute place. It's good for a quick stop for lunch or a sit down with friends.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place! Loved the pork spring roll and Shaken beef!!! The lemongrass pork noodle bowl was very tasty as well.
google avatar

Yelp
We live Pho Ba Luu. They have quick service but really good Vietnamese. I enjoy their Pho. My husband loves the ban mi sandwich. The staff is very friendly as well. The only down side was that they have a really nice looking patio and bar but every time we've gone it has never been open. This remains on our favorites lists.
google avatar

Hannahmarie O.

Yelp
Pho Ba Luu is serving up more than Vietnamese Street Food they're serving up warm, flavor packed, comfort food dishes. I stopped in on a rainy day, because Pho is even more amazing on a rainy day, and ordered the Vegetarian Pho. I was pleasantly surprised when the bowl came filled to the brim and packed full of veggies along with a side of toppings and spicy sauces to mix in. I left not only with a full stomach but also with a renewed feeling of contentment that a satisfying bowl of Pho can leave you with sometimes. Next up, stop by with a bigger appetite and on a sunny day to spend time on their beautiful patio with a sampling of their crispy rolls, banh mi, and cabbage salad!

Yelp
KENTUCKY'S BEST PHO! Found this location super randomly and by chance. Thank you YELP! This place smelled and looked so authentic to what I missed when having pho. Unfortunately being on the east cost in Kentucky that's a hard find. Luckily this place is available. The location was very clean and welcoming. Ordering was easy because the menu and the food was easy to understand. I wanted to try something different, but go with what you know first, then explore. The prices are whatever, because this was the only decent looked and smelling pho in town. When I got my food, it smelled so good and fresh. The spring roll was freshly made, and my coffee looked so delicious. The brought was so delicious. Yes, it's not SUPER amazing, but it was close to home. The meat was tender and the veggies were freshly cut. The spring roll ingredients were also fresh when you bite into it. The sauce had a different taste to it as well, but nonetheless it was amazing. The Viet coffee was extra sweet and tasteful. You can definitely tell it was their own mix but still the original ingredients. DEF recommend.

Yelp
Mixed reactions on the food. The venue is pretty nice. Wide open area that is conducive to feeling like you are eating outside on a nice day with large door openings on both the front and back of the place. Place your food order at the counter (or at the bar if you want alcohol) and they bring it to your table. Decent beer selection including five options on draft. My bride went with the Chicken Curry ($12). The menu said "mild curry", but it was too spicy for her to eat. The rice was already in the curry as opposed to being served on the side - it was more like a rice soup as you can see in the picture. I went with the Pho chicken ($11) and the flavor was outstanding. It had a little kick to it - and a ting of dark color to the broth (not sure why). I really enjoyed it. We will come back again....but will be wiser when ordering an entree for my bride.

Yelp
Thank you for being open on a holiday while many places are closed. I'm not downtown often so I haven't had the pleasure of trying this jewel just yet. Although it doesn't look like much from the outside you'll be surprised by what's inside. I loved all the options to choose from on their menu and their back patio so that I could bring my pup. I started with the shrimp spring rolls which were prepared especially per my specific request. The accompanying peanut sauce was so good. Mom and I shared the beef pho which came highly recommended. It was a huge portion that's plenty for 2 people. It had such a rich flavor and one of the best phos I've had. For my son I got the fried rice and egg which he ate pretty well and I was happy because there were plenty of healthy carrots. I can't believe I've waited 6 years to try them. We all enjoyed our time here.

Yelp
Did takeout 8/24/22. Had beef pho and pork spring rolls. The spring rolls were great--they didn't skimp on the pork and the sauce was different from my hometown Vietnamese joint, less peanut and more bean. I really enjoyed it. Beef pho had that nice deep flavor in the broth you want. And the beef, unlike a lot of other places, was tender not overcooked. Service was pleasant and fast. Great experience!
google avatar

Yelp
I just didn't find the broth flavorful at all... on a good note, it didn't have any msg which can really mess with my system. Pros? They offer to gos and delivery The jalapenos were super fresh and tasty Chicken was boiled to a good texture Fresh rolls were made fresh Cons? The noodles had a funky smell... perhaps it was just more rice vinegar than I'm used to? Broth was really lacking flavor...

Yelp
Explored Butchertown and ended up at Pho Ba Luu. Stopped in for the pork bahn mi. When it came out, I noted it looked anorexic, meaning a small portion. It was. It was delicious, but I needed more food. So I got the chicken pho as well. Only one size. It was pretty good. And that was a decent portion. The menu is small. There are only 3 kinds of pho. Every Vietnamese restaurant I've ever gone to has a zillion types, so that was a bit of a disappointment. Nice decor. Nice service.

Sadly, I give this place two stars. I really wanted to like it! Had others recommend it. But in a city with a decent amount of pho selections...this place really doesn't appear to be one of those. Got the chicken pho and shrimp spring rolls and mango iced tea. Didn't find the spring rolls with my to-go order, unfortunately. But the pho was honestly the most boring I've ever had. A meal that usually comes with such zest and great flavor and has so many good qualities was lacking, to say the least. Normally not one to post many reviews, but had to warn people off of this spot. Maybe they have other dishes that are decent, but it ain't the pho. Also, mango iced tea was bland/not that great. For sure, find another pho spot.
