Bad Bunny-Approved Burgers — And More D.C. Restaurant Openings to Know in December | Eater DC

"Situated at the entrance to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art’s east building (Arthur M. Sackler Gallery), the casual cafe’s menu mirrors its Asian exhibits, with Vietnamese banh mi and Thai mango sticky rice, as well as Asian twists on American classics; walk-up orders also include rice bowls, desserts, teas, and coffee." - Tierney Plumb

I had the Huevos Rancheros which was quite delicious. Hot coffee and a large OJ. Dee, our server was quite the character and made our meal even more enjoyable. The building could use a little housekeeping, but it didn't affect our meal. 10/10 would eat here again.

The quintessential diner experience with a southwest twist. Friendly service, great food, wide selection, and quality specials. Figure the only reason this place isn't packed more often is the lack of giant sign. Perhaps we need a "go fund me".

Great out of the way place to eat. Menu features everything from Burgers a day Fries, to Breakfast and even he cooked Mexican food. Don't blink. It's easy to miss. Just don't mistake it's small footprint with poor food and or service. Wait staff is great, and very personal. They can make you feel at home seconds after waking through the door.

I tend to stop here for an early, delicious, and filling breakfast on the weekends. The menu is substantial, and they are more than accommodating special requests. I would have to recommend the chicken fried steak fingers (with options of gravies and sauces) and the open faced tacos on fried bread (Indian Fry Bread Tacos). Two of the items I show here (though I added two sunny side up eggs to my ground beef taco). So good! Service is excellent even when busy, which happens as it is a small diner, but they do a great job of making sure refreshments are topped up. Decor is typical of an old school diner, and seating is comfortable. There are also specials throughout the week, but again, I go on the weekends.

If I were to try to describe my two visits (two years apart) to the Moongate Cafe, I'm not sure that anything that I could say would do them justice. As the fates would have it, I had breakfast with the same two people, and we all ordered the same meals as the first visit...I can't think of anything that would be so perfectly nostalgic for the three of us, who have and share memories of diners throughout the years. Great food, excellent service, and everyone in the house felt like family...no, I mean it, but in the "family that you want to be with, and have delicious food with, and laugh, and hug, and know beyond a doubt that you will always be welcome sort of way." Don't trust my word on it. Find out for yourself! (And if there isn't any seating available, just go back and wait in your vehicle. Someone will be along shortly to come out and get you and welcome you "home.") 😊

Had brunch there yesterday and ordered the quesadilla with vegetables. It was yummy. Love the veggies and the green Chile's are not hot. Green Chile sauce is good. Never disappointed there. Servers are friendly and attentive.

If you're going for side of the road road trip breakfast place this is a top tier one. Every morsel was delicious, the ladies working had their fresh Christmas manicures and big smiles, friendly as ever.

Great mom and pop place. Best pancakes in Las Cruces area. Haven't had anything bad here. Love their breakfast.
