Moonie's Burger House - Steiner Ranch

Oh my… What a rough dinner. Full of spoiled food. 🤢 Burger lettuce wrapped came on a bed of brown lettuce (all of it). Half of the side salad had rotten leaves. When we asked up front what “Moonies” sauce was for the wings no one knew. Wings did turn out good with buffalo. Would not return to this location.

Edit, March 16, 2024: Tenant (Moonie’s Burger House) Lock Out Notice for unpaid rent, a sign taped to doors dated March 13 says. Lobby seems being cleared out (of arcade games.) Earlier review: Watched Moonies arrive here. Went early on and there was room for improvement. They were just sprouting. Have been back 2X within the past month and it’s now a nice hang out spot with great food — burgers specifically, cheese sticks, mini corn dogs, drinks. Playground is nice. Patio and deck nice. Burgers tasted great. Price is appropriate imho, has never raised eyebrows but then again I’m rich af lol. Worth a try for sure imho.

This is a great place, I love to be able to customize my burger exactly how I like it, and they made 100% correct on the first try. It's a no-thrills place, but the prices are fair, food very good and I appreciate that they hire local kids to give them a great starter job. There may be slight inconsistency in the staff's attention to detail, but I think management will soon find their A-players and build upon them. Everybody is friendly here and it feels like a nice neighborhood eatery.

I had the classic burger with the French fries. They have lots of options to customize but I had the regular burger. The bun was a little sweet but everything else tasted great. They gave me a large portion of French fries and they were so good but if you are trying to watch your weight probably not so good. They even have gluten free buns. Overall awsome experience.

Just had moonies for the first time. Was a little shocked at the price. If it wasn’t as pricey I would give it more stars but for what they’re charging it doesn’t quite live up. It tastes more like a slightly elevated fast food place and unfortunately they forgot our sides, which is frustrating cause we took it to go. They did refund us which we appreciated but just overall not a great experience. I don’t think I’ll be back which is a shame cause the burgers themselves were tasty and seemed like quality ingredients but not enough to justify the price.

I've never been here before and decided to try it since I was in the area. I walked in and nobody was there but a lone cashier. Nice . I placed my order wanted to try a few different things on the menu. I was hungry. There was plenty of seating the place was empty. Just one other customer. Our food came quickly. I got buffalo wings and french fries and a swiss burger. Everything looked great. I did not like the crunchy stuff they put on the French fries. The burger was fresh and delicious. I thought the bun was a little sweet for my taste. The chicken wings were like beef jerky chicken wings but I liked it. I would not order the French fries again. Kind of gross. Overall not bad. Not sure if I would go back here. My entertainment was watching some little kid pick up off the floor one of my French fries the server dropped. Her parents didn't even wonder where she got that French fry. Because their order was to go. Seriously, the parents were that clueless. She shoved the rest of the fry in her mouth as her mom held her and watched. Anyways, food is hmmmm. Just skip the fries. By the way this wasn't a gourmet burger. The patty was super small. And I couldn't find bacon or mushroom on my burger. I think if I had a microscope it would have helped. This place is a rip off. Stick to McDonald's you'll get a better addressed burger than you will here. Gourmet. Hahaha what is the seasoning blessed with the Pope's farts? This place was below average with a big price. Did I say skip the fries? You'll thank me.

Eaten a turkey burger 2x here now, both times undercooked in the very middle. Bun is rly good, kind of sweet, and fries are good too. Overall flavor good, just not cooked well enough. Service is pretty good too, friendly people. Won't go back any time soon, just don't want to chance it with the meat.

Ordered online in the parking lot. My order of 3 classic and 1 custom burger plus Tater Tots was ready in 8 min!? I'm not sure how that's possible, but the pre-shaped burgers were slightly over cooked. Tots were average. The interior is lined with video game consoles, and a few cold metal chairs if you're waiting to pick-up an order. Otherwise, very basic with no personality. If you just want something fast, ok. Otherwise, there's better places to eat in the area.

Omg the slowest service ever! Burgers are served WELL done and dry. Salad was not appetizing the fried mushrooms crisp and delicious. I'll try again and ask for med burger since it's a local spot. Hope the experience is better . Pls do not stop here if you are in a rush it took 45 min for one burger one salad and shrooms

For being open only for a few month I think they are doing a very good job. My family of 4 always order food where we change the menu. I want this, but without that and please add this and that. I know annoying customers ;) They got our orders 100% correct, the food was fresh, right temperature and fries were crispy. We sat down in the dining area and it was clean and neat. We got the food on time too! The service was great and very friendly staff. I have worked many years in the food industry so I know what to look for! I also know how hard it is to open up a restaurant, it takes time to get the flow going. Here they are doing a great job!! and I hope they will stay in Steiner for a very long time. The location is great too, with a big playground in the back.

As very mediocre as it was, the food was the best part of the experience. The burger was 1/8th of an inch thick and burnt to a juicy crisp. It was FREEZING cold inside and the lighting is institutional, so we decided to sit outside amongst the discarded furniture. Classy! The food took a long time and was C O L D. This place would be a gold mine if they could just get it together.

I was very excited to try a new place in our neck of the woods. We all know it hard to find a place to eat that can a come date kids and you don't have to fight traffic. I was quite disappoint in the Buffalo Chicken salad size. I was given less than a 1/4 of chicken breast. It was on a tiny shallow plate as well. I put pictures as a reference. I checked their website and the photo of the buffalo chicken salad comes with 3 chicken strips. I doubled checked with a food runner that I was given the correct portion of chicken and she said yes after double checking with the kitchen. For $12 this is ridiculous. My daughters kids meal came with more food.

This place is great. The bacon and blue cheeseburger is a must. The fries are delicious.

I haven't had a bad burger yet. The staff is friendly and the food is always ready quickly. The dining area is clean and welcoming. It feels like a proper place to have a burger.

Really good burgers, lemon pepper wings and fries! My kids always want to eat at Moonie's! The delivery was just as good as eating in the restaurant!

This was our first trim. This location had been a topic of conversation at a recent dinner party. The burger was excellent. The bread was unusually fresh and good. I really enjoyed the bacon burger with all the vegetables. We will definitely be back! One more note the staff was friendly and on the ball.

We love this new place! The burgers are top notch but my favorite things to order here are the Philly Cheese Steak and the Buffalo Chicken Salad! The service was excellent and was very quick from time of order! I am glad they have a park for the children which makes it a perfect lunch spot for our neighborhood!

Nice place to chill on the patio under the trees and grab a burger. The sweet potato fries were excellent. 10 buck frozen margaritas are huge!

The restaurant was disgusting although we were the only customers there on a Saturday at 6:30. The floors were disgusting, the tables were disgusting, the restrooms disgusting. Plenty of people standing around but the place was disgusting. Half the sodas were out and the ones that weren't out tasted like crap. The burger was ok but the onion rings tasted like old onions in them and were squishy like calamari. I used to love going to the location off of research blvd and was so excited one was closer to me. I will take my 40$ somewhere else. Extremely disappointed.

Great food and great service! The staff is friendly and the order comes out quick, hot and fresh. The Diablo burger and sweet potato fries were excellent. Super convenient for residents of Steiner Ranch and Four Points.

The food is good and very reasonably priced. The manager is working very hard to produce a quality product and wants to hear from you. Please talk to them before posting here.

I've been going to the Moonies in Cedar Park for years and love it. This new location in Steiner Ranch was dissapointing. We ordered a Buffalo Ranch salad and a Western burger with fries and drinks. For starters, we were charged for the more expensive Grilled Chicken salad and not the salad we ordered. The burger patty was thin and burned with a crunchy char on the patty that tasted of a grill that hadnt been cleaned enough throughout the day. If you are paying $35 for 2 burgers and fries i expect a lot more. I wasn't the only person that felt this way, as the next table over came up as we were eating and said "what did you guys think of the food?" and further went on to have the same grievances as me "overpriced for the quality", "burned", and the "restaurant was not clean". The floor in the restaurant was disgusting and you had to be careful not to slip and fall as it felt as if the foor was covered in grease. The entire floor felt like this and it was not isolated to one spot. This is concerning because the dining area is usually a reflection of the kitchen. The other Moonies locations are excellent and I recommend them to anyone that wants a great burger, but this location did not check any of the boxes. I'm hoping for an improvement in the future as this area needs more good restaurants.

It's 130 on a Wednesday stopped in for a burger. They just open the store in Steiner Ranch two weeks ago. Place is empty which has something to do with the time that I'm here. I ordered and a burger and French fries to be told that they were out of french fries. Really no french fries at a burger joint. Somethings wrong with that. Then I ordered a milkshake to be told the milkshake machine was broken. So I settled for soft drink only to find out of order stickers on several of the selections Now to the problems. The place is filthy. Floor unswept. Tables that have not been bussed Had to listen to the staff having a heated very loud conversation about work schedules and social life Now to the burger . Overcooked and totally dry. Not worth eating. If your interested in trying this loser I would do it fast. Can't image it will around very long

Moonie's burgers are AMAZING! Probably the best burger I have had in a long time. Unfortunately with this location, the staff appeared to look greasy and was not very friendly. The cashier was slow while there was a line.

Wonderful home away from home. Enjoy hot food and a cold beer or wine or margarita lol

We had a coupon for this new place. We went today and had two really good burgers! They were big, flavorful, and reasonably priced. We also had their crispy fries. Enjoyed our lunch in the shade on the deck. I would recommend this burger restaurant.

Wednesday July 26th of 2023, came into Moonie's with my family, spent 63 dollars and got a burger that was burnt and made completely wrong. First and last time I will be coming here. This place has truly left a bad taste in my mouth, LITERALLY! The price that I paid, did not match what I got served. I wouldn't feed that crunchy burnt burger to my dog. This place is the worst burger joint I have ever been to! I wouldn't leave a star if I didn't have too.

I've always loved Moonies until this location opened. Lackluster service, you can tell the meat is frozen, bread is meh, the tea is never brewed.

We decided to give this place another try.... Wished it was better - from food to lack of service.

Was great to see Moonies opening in Steiner. No business has been able to stay open here in this location. Went for dinner with my son. Long wait to just order. Seemed like the order taker had to also go to the kitchen to help get items. Wasn't a very long wait for food...maybe 30 minutes. Both our burgers were over cooked and my sweet potato fries were about as burnt as they could be. Unfortunately without some change I don't think Moonies will make it a year or two. Hopefully they change things. Steiner Ranch needs a good food place. Friday night dinner time and the restaurant was about 1/4 full.

This place *WOULD* be soooo awesome for steiner ranch ****IF**** Jake Scimit was eradicated from the staff. Jake caused problems the moment we walked in. First off, what is the thug shaker? Jake would not making snarly references and moving his ***area*** while shouting "ohhhhh, there's too much turbulence!! ohhhhhhh s***". There was more, but I'd like to spare this young man. He seems like a sweet boy who has good intentions. I am a doctor and I treat children with ADHD and this boy CLEARLY needs medication. The food was awesome, though!

Agree with my fellow Yelper; if they would get it together they could have a gold mine. I was excited to see them opening in Steiner Ranch because I do like their burgers and fried mushrooms. But what the heck Moonies? You bring my food to me at my table but no napkins or silverware? This necessitates getting up from my table and making a couple of trips to get napkins, silverware for salads, and condiments. I think a fork when delivering a salad should be a given. I know this is their business model 'cos they do this at the 183 restaurant as well. Guess I was just hoping they would come to their senses at their new place and bring me a fork!
