The Most Fun Queer Spots In LA (Whether You Drink Or Not) - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"This iconic roller skating rink has been around since the 1950s, and it’s still our top pick for a fun night out in Glendale. Even if you haven’t actually been to Moonlight Rollerway, you’ve probably seen it in countless TV shows from Euphoria to Barnaby Jones. It’s not uncommon to see queer people in colorful wigs and sparkly outfits here any night of the week, but Rainbow Skate Night is the rink’s official queer-centered session where the DJ bumps gay anthems for all to enjoy. It happens weekly on Wednesdays from 8-10pm, and you should definitely buy your tickets online in advance because they occasionally sell out." - nikko duren

I am deeply disappointed by my recent experience at this establishment, which involved what appeared to be discriminatory treatment toward my child, who has a disability and relies on a wheelchair for mobility, unable to walk independently. Upon arrival, staff refused to apply the advertised spectator rate of $5, insisting on charging the full admission price of $19. Their explanation was that no children qualify as spectators, regardless of circumstance. This policy struck me as illogical and inconsistent: if a spectator option exists, it should reasonably extend to individuals who cannot actively participate, particularly those with disabilities. The refusal raised serious concerns about potential discrimination and noncompliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Throughout the interaction, the staff was abrupt, dismissive, and lacking in empathy. After leaving, I contacted the manager to discuss the matter. She informed me that pushing the wheelchair onto the roller rink would have been permitted. This suggestion highlighted several issues: 1. It was not offered at the time, when we were present and could have considered it. Communicating this option upfront would have demonstrated consistency in policy application and better training for employees. 2. While perhaps intended as an accommodation, pushing a wheelchair through a crowded rink of active skaters presents obvious safety and liability concerns. We likely would have declined for those reasons, but being informed on-site would have allowed for a more informed and respectful discussion. Businesses occasionally exercise flexibility with rules to prioritize customer satisfaction and accessibility, especially when serving families with special needs. In this case, the handling of the situation regardless of any strict legal interpretation showed a profound lack of compassion, foresight, and customer service. I cannot recommend this venue to others and would rate the experience zero stars if possible. I sincerely hope the management reflects on this feedback and implements changes to ensure more inclusive and empathetic practices in the future, but my guess is they won't be in business very long treating customers this way.

This place is awesome! Prices are very reasonable, and once you pay for admission you’re free to stay until the place closes for that day. One of the staff said there is no corporate involved, which explains why everyone is so friendly (I guess it’s still family owned). You also get a good workout in! The retro vibe is also amazing; everyone these days is trying to be modern and go for “the next best thing,” while this place doesn’t change a thing. 5/5.

Google
The parking is pretty dire, but I don’t know why the reviews are so low. It was an amazing wholesome experience. Several reviews and the website says you have to buy tickets in advance online. This wasn’t the case. People were buying tickets at the door. It was packed with people, but, somehow, the staff was keeping things under control.

Google
This rink inspires childhood core memories to fun times in my 20s to now sharing it with my kids as I enter my "older" years. It may be nostalgia speaking, but I love this place. It's kitschy and charming. Having been to a newer (early 2000s) rink recently, Moonlight is cleaner, smells better, plays a great mix of music, attentive staff and a beautiful wooden floor. Take note that skating and all it entails (locker rental, snacks, skate rentals, etc) is not cheap so this is a special treat for us, not a regular occurrence. Also note parking is very scarce here. You can't bring in your own water bottles unless they're empty and Moonlight will charge you a small fee for water.

Veronica S.

Google
Fun for the children. Making spectators pay $35 to enter is a scam. I'm old and recently had knee surgery. Obviously not skating. Just wanted enjoy watching the grandchildren i was visiting.

Noel L.

Google
A fun throwback place for roller skating! The rink feels old-school but well-maintained. Music is upbeat and the crowd’s friendly. It’s great for groups or date nights. Bring your own skates if you can — rentals are okay but worn.

Andrea B.

Google
I love this place! I had a great experience. I took the adult beginner class on a Tuesday night. The staff is very nice and welcoming. The ticket includes the public session from 8pm to 11pm as well. Place looks iconic with a 60's retro vibe, but like if you were feeling that if you were in the 90's. Music is a mix of moods, but they have themed nights, which I will definitely check out. Thank you for being there!

Amalia C.

Google
Went to their 90s pop night which was an absolute blast! Was so neat to see folks of all ages and skill levels enjoying skating. Admission was $25 at the door (I brought my own rollerblades though they have roller skates available for rent, no rollerblades for rent) They have lockers for 50 cents. Concession stand and small game section are also there. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
Moonlight Rollerway is a simple, retro indoor venue for a fun rollerskating experience. It's nothing fancy, and it's not meant to be--it really does feel like a time warp when I go, but that's part of the charm. It's just good old fashioned rollerskating fun. Best time in my opinion is adult skating nights and or skating at night when there are less kids. Nothing against them lol, but it's just easier and more enjoyable to skate when less little ones darting in and out. The rink is large and spacious, probably like a standard indoor rink which is sadly a rare find these days. They also do a fantastic job posting regularly on social media; there are lots of fun themed events and skate nights. The safety staff that skate around to ensure everyone is ok is much appreciated--I see 1-2 of them each time and they are all chill and seem to enjoy what they do. I never had a significantly negative experience with any rude employees like some reviewers. One particular woman who works there has been very nice to me. She's there all the time and has been kind and helpful to me. But one time, one young woman at the front entrance window seemed annoyed by a simple question, but other than that, I didn't have a negative experience that would deter me from going again. Oh, and I like that they sell skates and accessories too. I haven't purchased from them but they have a nice selection. There are a few things I don't like about Moonlight (nothing terrible, just something to note). Most importantly, I don't go often because the entry fee is steep, and I have my own skates. Other than that, the concession stand is very basic, they could at least update the snacks and a simple renovation would make it a little nicer. At the very least, better snacks and food would be nice. They also charge 50 cents to fill up water, there is no free tap water which I don't even think is allowed. They do have vending machines with water bottles and drinks, as they don't allow outside drinks (which I get, for safety reasons), but to charge for tap water isn't right. With all that said, I wish I could go more often but it's pricey, and that is the only reason I don't go much. For now, I mostly go to LA Kings outdoor rink in Burbank because it's less than half the price to skate and it's also a large rink. But sometimes indoor in a retro space is nice too, so I'll definitely return back to Moonlight to get my rollerskating rink fix since it's the closest indoor rink to me. Happy skating!

Yelp
$60 for two people (15 entry, 15 rental skates) on a weekday night. there were maybe 15 people skating, and all they played was ariana grande. super lame music, also super unaffordable. Also, no water fountains, the staff wont fill up your personal water bottle (which you aren't technically allowed to bring in). you probably would make more money if you lowered entry prices, or had better customer service. $60 for 3 hours for 2 people is insane. Imagine going out for a night and it's $60 not including any sort of dinner. Would have been more fun with a larger crowd, or even any music that isn't just ariana grande on repeat. I bet the owner wonders why they have dwindling numbers, try making your place more affordable or at least pleasant to be at.

Yelp
PLEASE STAND CLEAR OF THIS PLACE SAVE YOUR MONEY THEY DON'T DESERVE IT I honestly don't understand how this skating rink is still in business. What we paid just to get in as a family was outrageous, especially considering the endless restrictions and poor treatment once inside. You're not allowed to bring in water, even for children, and instead are forced to buy overpriced concessions. The atmosphere was miserable. Staff repeatedly yelled at the kids--kids who were simply trying to skate and have fun. There was no patience, no friendliness, and absolutely no customer service. It genuinely felt like the employees didn't want to be there and took that frustration out on customers. The front desk clerk acted as if she had authority to speak down to people. The tone was rude, dismissive, and completely inappropriate for a family-oriented business. The food was terrible--clearly microwave-quality and nowhere near worth the price. To make matters worse, the way staff interacted with our family felt uncomfortable and discriminatory. As customers who are not white, we felt treated differently and unwelcome, which was extremely upsetting. This place needs serious attention from management--from customer service training to basic respect for families and children. We will not be returning and would strongly advise others to spend their money elsewhere.

Yelp
Such a cute and nostalgic place to skate! I'm a beginner skater and everyone here was so nice! The rink is well kept but still had that 80s vibe to it. It got really packed on a Monday night which I was pleasantly surprised! Their hours are a bit late, 2000-1100/1030 on weekdays, wish they were open earlier but it was still fun! Parking is definitely tight but there was a lot of street parking. This is definitely a place I will be going to more often to improve my skating skills!

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS TRASH!!! The manager is rude and her minions have to follow her lead. They have a policy that is so ridiculous. This garbage facility and them over charging is out of this world. I came 90 minutes to catch the end of my niece's 12th birthday and they wanted to charge me $27 to skate for 20mins. I said I'm not skating, and she said $19 to go in. OUTRAGEOUS!!! So I walked in when someone was walking out. They got so upset! They're out for money and don't care about what is sensible!

Yelp
So fun! The four of us all loved it! We went on Sunday at the 1:30-4 session and it was great. There is a bit of a line to get in but once inside it's great! It was not too crowded. We brought our own skates and one of my skates broke and they were so nice to let me use a rental skate without the fee thank you we also got the cheese pizza and chicken tenders and it was good! It was a fun time. I do wish it was a little cheaper so we could go more often but they seem to be doing great so why would they change that. I would definitely come back! A long time ago we used to come here, and my daughter took a few classes back then. The classes were really good too! I would recommend coming here! Very fun time for kids and adults :)

Yelp
Honestly I really liked this place lol it was super cute. I came for date night and it was disco night! The playlist was 10/10! I don't think this place is very beginner friendly tho. Everyone on the rink seemed very professional. I felt like the people on the rink were getting annoyed because I was slow (so I didn't like that part LOL). I think the price is decent for a date night. I can't speak on the food because we didn't try. The owners were really sweet too and told us some of the history of this place.

Yelp
SO FUN! Really great activity any time, but especially when it's a little too warm to exercise outside. The music was grooving, the people were moving, and I felt like I got a little workout! The only issue here is parking: there is a small lot but it really is small and fills up quickly, and there are a lot of limitations on street parking in the surrounding areas. I wish I knew enough to recommend some alternative options but hopefully others do!

Kimora M.

Yelp
DO NOT GO! it's $30 to skate and legit every staff is so rude. they single you out in line with targeted passive aggressive reminders for signs i clearly can read. I'm at the back of the line finishing my tea and they angrily yelled i can't bring the drink in. they yelled at a HANDICAPPED elderly woman who parked over the line-- as she tried to correct it they lectured her. they unplugged vending machines and refused to refund anyone. someone was taking photos in the photo booth and the pregnant staff unplugged it. yelled at my friend who needed a roller cart to support her skating, they wouldn't let her have one after allowing grown men to have one. it was saddening we are students and $30 is a lot and they were beyond cruel. they yelled at multiple children and charge too damn much for mediocracy and their nasty attitudes.

L L.

Yelp
Went for one of their themed nights tonight and waited an hour to get in because they oversold tickets for bad bunny night. It was ridiculously overcrowded and a safety hazard. The fire dept even showed up. We couldn't even skate because of how packed it was we could barely move. So expensive and not worth that mess.

Angela H.

Yelp
The two workers out front were extremely rude from the moment we arrived. There were only about 20 minutes left of skating, and we were simply going in to watch our kids and pick them up. We were told we had to pay an entry fee even though we were not skating, which I have never experienced at any skating rink before. This policy felt very misleading and honestly came across as a scam. On top of that, the poor attitude and lack of basic customer service made the experience even worse. When you work in a customer-facing role, being respectful and professional should be the bare minimum. I don't usually leave complaints, but rude behavior like this will absolutely drive customers away. I do not recommend this place.

Yelp
This location is very comfortable because it's monopolized roller skating in its area. There are no competing roller skating rinks to visit if you don't like this one, so for families with kids that need something to do, or if you have a passion for roller skating and want to pursue your hobby on a proper rink-- this is the only place you have to visit. This location is run like an airport. You cannot bring your own water, drinks, or food. They charge you fifty cents to refill a water bottle just to have water, since you can't bring your own. That may seem like a small amount, but with hundreds of visitors being charged for water multiple times during a physically taxing activity, where you have to wait in line to get it, it's a lot. They have lockers for your items, but you are charged EVERY TIME you open and close the locker. If you're a parent who doesn't want to roller skate, but wants to support their children and watch, you are charged five dollars each. Everything about this rink is designed to drain you of your money, and to provide nothing back for it. The AC system isn't adequate-- the place constantly feels stuffy, wet, and moist with sweat from many bodies. It's constantly hot, and the ventilation systems must be breathing their last dying breathes. The entire facility is old. Ancient. All of the excess money that this rink makes is most certainly pocketed by someone, but it's not put back into the facility aside from basic upkeep. This rollerskating rink is not for you if you're on a budget. You can't come here regularly unless you want to burn through your wallet. That being said, if you can't stand rollerskating on the street or in your local sidewalks, this is a functional rollerskating rink. I'm not giving it a one star because it's not literally falling apart at the seams, so you can actually use it. The surfaces are clean enough, and kids have the privilege of looking past the costs and having fun. They do lights, games, and hold lessons. They've got special trainer equipment for people who're learning (each is eight dollars because everything here is charged), and rental skates of every size for every foot (also eight dollars each). Aside from overcrowding and the absurd expense-- it can be fun.
google avatar

Jo J.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Made me pay 19 dollars to enter as a spectator just because my group of kids and parents had arrived and entered 30 minutes before me. The girl working the front has no moral compass , hope this place goes out of business.
google avatar

n j.

Yelp
Rude staff with attitude. Yes, perhaps they hate their jobs, but no need to be arrogant with paying customers who want their kids to have a great time. Super expensive for parties (2.5 hrs) -- equaling about $50/head with very average food; an example of extortion is charging $7.50 for a pitcher of tap water. Automatic 18% gratuity for what service?! Someone, please, open another skating rink to give them some competition. They've monopolized a 30 mile radius/vicinity so they do not care about having good service. Total rip-off. Avoid if you can.
google avatar

Kris H.

Yelp
Moonlight was very fun! Had around 22 guest come join me on Sunday from 8-11pm and it was an absolutely perfect night. Highly recommend coming during one of their night sessions as it's a great experience for adults. 23-25 dollars for ticket plus 8 dollars for skates was worth it for the fun! I do know the staff is strict but just follow the rules and be respectful and you'll get that back.

Milu

Yelp
Customer service!! The staff were very rude and 1 example is the fact that they were whistling in peoples faces to get them to leave!!!

Yelp
Pros: -Retro vibes -Good music -Fun for all ages -LGBTQ friendly Cons: -Pricey -Limited Parking -No outside food or drinks allowed -No coming in & out -Snack bar was not appetizing All in all my kid had fun. I didn't like being charged for skates I didn't want because I was only watching her skate from the sides with my 6 month old but it is what it is. Spent about $60 just to get through the door $25 x 2 admission + $8 skates for myself since we brought hers from home. Sort of worth it for a unique outing I guess?

Yelp
I've been bringing my kids here for over 20 years and have had at least 4 birthday parties here. This was the spot.. So disappointed with the last two visits because you can't enjoy the time. There is no space to actually skate because they rent these walkers and they are all over the place...I counted 37 today. but you can't escape to the snack bar either. there is no room to sit and drink your $4 bottled water.. maybe it's just the 1:30-4:00 slot.. I gave the 3 stars for the music.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
I would rather roller-skate barefoot over broken glass than ever step foot into Moonlight Rollerway again. From the moment you walk in, the staff treats you like you're an inconvenience for daring to exist. Beginner skaters? Forget it. If you don't already skate like an Olympic athlete, they glare at you, mock you, and act like you personally ruined their day. Asking for help is met with eye-rolling, sighs, and the kind of attitude that makes you wish you'd just stayed home. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Someone in my group fell and seriously injured their ankle, and the response from staff was horrifyingly slow and careless. They stood around like statues, whispering to each other, completely unbothered, while someone was clearly in pain. No urgency. No compassion. Just indifference so cold it felt cruel. And let's talk about the vibe--this rink feels less like a fun place to skate and more like some twisted endurance test. The music is deafening, the floor feels unsafe, and the staff seems to enjoy watching people struggle. It's like they take pleasure in humiliation. You don't skate here--you survive it. By the time you leave, you don't feel entertained. You feel drained, stressed, and honestly kind of traumatized. This place doesn't welcome people; it breaks them down. It's hostile, unfriendly, and outright miserable. Do yourself a favor: never come here. There are a million better ways to spend your time than being sneered at, ignored when hurt, and treated like garbage on wheels. Moonlight Rollerway isn't a roller rink--it's a nightmare with disco lights.

Briana S.

Yelp
awful place :( the workers are so mean and WILL yell at you and as a heads up its not beginner friendly
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
Guess this is the only existing roller rink in Southern California? I honestly haven't been roller skating since high school. You have to pay for entrance even if you're not skating. Our friend decided to opt out of skating and had to pay the $18 entrance, which is not ideal but I get it. But if you're a parent and your kid is skating you can pay $5. Rentals were about $10. This was what I remembered in high school except more little kids with these skating assistant rollers that frankly seem like more of a hazard. Overall this is a cool spot. The parking lot is tiny so if you're not lucky enough to get a spot, you have to find street parking.

Yelp
Amazing throwback roller rink in Glendale! Snack bar 3/5. Pizza was dried out under heat lamp lol. Hot dog surprisingly solid. The staff are super helpful and friendly. $25 entry at the door ($23 online), and $8 for rentals. Always a good time.

Catlover K.

Yelp
Horrible , racist and too expensive also very very rude! Never again . Also the hard pizza gave my kid diarrhea!
google avatar

Autumn W.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!! Please listen to the other reviews and stay away from this business especially if you are black or have a child with Autism. The staff was so rude to everyone at our party. Then another staff yelled at my Autistic toddler for touching the coin machine. One of the kids in our party who was 8 years old accidentally went outside and was told she couldn't come back in even when she was paid for. A child should never be forced to separated from her party, that a safety hazard! Save your money and go somewhere else that is minority and disability friendly

Yelp
We are lucky to still have a roller rink nearby. This roller rink is like a blast from the past! Such a fun way to spend your weekend.

Yelp
I took my Son Roller Skating for his very first time. I didn't know there was a rink still open in SoCal. The facility is in perfect condition and the staff was very nice. I don't understand why other people left bad reviews. Definitely 5 stars lots of fun for kids & families.
google avatar

Edmond A.

Yelp
Not many more roller skating rings around, it was nice to see one from the 50's still around. I'm definitely impressed by vintage style and originality and Moonlight had it all. Ownership definitely has a big part and they're great at it, a very friendly staff and good service. We attended my nieces 13th birthday, it was a private event so the whole place was to ourselves. Everything was great, a little warm inside so maybe pick a time when it's not so hot. Give them a shot if you haven't already.

Emily A.

Yelp
Unfortunately my kid just was NOT into roller skating. The rink refunded us for the skates and admission, which was incredibly kind. I really appreciated that. The space is very fun and nostalgic, I would love to come back sometime when my 5-year-old is not having a panic attack.

Lauren M.

Yelp
Went with a group tonight on a whim and had a great time! The staff were super friendly, lockers were .50, good music and everyone skating was supportive and helpful. My group was full of all newbies and we all really enjoyed it; but we will be sore tomorrow. I'd imagine on weekends it gets a little crazy but we came Thursday night and felt like it was comfortable and we had plenty of room and still got to watch some really good skaters.

Tom M.

Yelp
terrible rental skates. I've skated for 30 years and I barely made it around one time The staff refused to adjust. My able bodied experienced skater friend fell as I I was seeking help and broke her wrist! don't rent skates, don't go?
google avatar

Heidy M.

Yelp
We dropped our husband's at a nearby brewery and us ladies hit the rink. The parking lot is small but there is plenty of street parking and it's well lit. We arrived shortly before 8pm and purchased our tickets for 22.50, which are also available to purchase ahead of time online. Rental skates are 8.00 and my friends say they were pretty comfortable. You may also bring your own, as I do and just need to show the staff that they haven't been altered in any way. It was throw back Thursday and the music was fun and the crowd was a mix. There were the beginners, to the ones who thought they were in a million dollar competition. Overall, it was a great blast from the past and everyone is helpful and friendly. The snack bar had icees , hot dogs , drinks and 4.00 water bottles. The items are a bit overpriced, but they don't allow you to exit and return, nor do they allow drinks or food to be brought inside. The rink was clean, as well as the restroom and we all had a great time and will definitely be back for another night of roller skating.

Yelp
A very poor experience. Everything costs money; even if you don't skate and are just waiting for your child, you still have to pay for a ticket; the place is very small and there are no seats at all; the service is bad and the facilities are outdated.

Alyssa B.

Yelp
I would give 0 stars if possible. We came to Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale to celebrate my daughter's 8th birthday with about 20 guests (half weren't even skating). I had already spent over $300 for admission, but the manager refused to let my daughter open her gifts inside unless I purchased their "birthday package," which essentially amounted to nothing more than a table and a pitcher of water. I was forced to pay an additional $200 just for the "privilege" of using a table indoors so my daughter wouldn't have to open her presents outside in 100-degree heat. This place also has an endless list of unnecessary rules. They don't allow any outside water (even for elderly guests on a hot day), they wouldn't let us bring in goodie bags or desserts I had prepared, and at one point I wasn't even allowed to step outside to grab socks from the car for my child without making a scene. By the time we were finally allowed to use a table, all of the desserts I had prepared were melted and inedible. The staff was unfriendly from the start, and the manager in particular was extremely rude -- even speaking down to their own employees. For the amount of money spent, I expected at least basic hospitality and reasonable accommodations, but instead we were nickel-and-dimed and treated poorly. If you're considering celebrating a birthday here, think twice. This place cares more about enforcing strict rules and squeezing extra money out of families than creating a welcoming experience for kids.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR BLACK SKATERS For anyone reading please please please save your money if you're a black and or experienced skater. This has to be one of the most disgusting and discriminatory experiences I've had at an establishment. Like many other reviews on here say, the staff are extremely rude, aggressive, and very nasty towards minority skaters. In all my 3 years going here I, as well as fellow black skaters that I know, get harassed often for simply skating at a higher level than other people there and targeted in hopes to get negative reactions out of me. The last time I was here an older floor guard cut me off and swerved into me multiple times telling me I had to slow down despite me going at a safe skating speed. When I didn't comply he got extremely close up in my face and made me very uncomfortable each time he violated my personal space. He even caused a small child behind him to fall over and nearly hit his head and insisted on antagonizing me instead of helping the child up. When I raised my voice and told him to get away from me he alerted the manager and tried to physically remove me off the rink and started breathing heavy and sticking his chest out in an attempt to provoke me further. Other staff members threatened to call the cops on me and told me I need to leave despite me getting harassed non-stop by a power aggressive and most likely racist staff member. They also added me to a black list and have banned me and several other black skaters from ever entering their establishment. The staff here will do anything possible to disturb and harass black skaters in an attempt to create hostile situations to get people banned. IT IS NOT A SAFE PLACE FOR ANY BLACK PERSON. Don't get me started on their hygiene practices. NONE of the rental skates are ever sterilized and the only thing they do is take a cheap air-freshener can and do a quick two second spray inside the skates. You will get athletes foot or worse by wearing their disgusting and unclean rental skates! Their cultural events are lack luster and they play the most generic and basic music for different themed events for the minorities they don't like: blacks and latinos. I even overheard one older white staff member commenting on how he doesn't really like "Our type of music" and that they should "Just play something else and turn that off". Listen to the other reviews, save your money, and DO NOT give this place your business if you're a black and or experienced skater. You will be targeted and preyed upon by racist, aggressive, and miserable staff members who are far too old to be this unprofessional and discriminatory.

Yelp
$38 each kid for lessons, no problem. $5 for the parent to watch, ok! You can't bring your coffee inside because they want to sell you their instant stuff, come on!!!!

Yelp
This was my first time roller skating in 10+ years! I'm not a skater by any means. However, it ended up being really fun for me. The reason for 3 stars are mostly logistics. The parking situation is tough. They have a small lot. You can't park at Home Depot because they will tow you. The rink has resorted to double parking. They will call out your car model & license plate over the speakers if you need to move your car. There are some free street parking spots, but it's a bit sketchy area. You can't buy tickets at the door for nighttime skating. They use EventBrite, which charges like a $2 fee. There is a chance that the tickets will sell out. There are 2-3 waivers you have to sign when you buy your ticket online. I paid $21 for 3 hours (8PM-11PM). You cannot leave the building (like to grab something from your car) and come back in. No re-entry. Skate rentals are separate, as in it's not on EventBrite. You have to pay $7 for it at the door. They give you a small receipt, which you give to the skates guys. The vending machine that has water is broken. It will decline your credit card but eat your cash. The staff was nice enough to give us the water that we paid for, but it seems like it was common enough for them to understand. Highly recommend bringing your own water! There are other vending machines with some snacks if you don't want to wait in line for things like popcorn or hot dogs. Lockers cost 50 cents every time you close or open it. If you ever need to grab something out of it, like water, you need 2 more quarters. They do have a change machine, so if you don't have quarters, they will accept $1, $5, and $10 bills. What I thought was nice was that the skating seemed structured. They change the direction 3-4 times. The music is loud and good variety from the last 5-7 decades. There are a few staff members who skate around and blow their whistle if they see people not following rules, like if they're not moving in the rink. There was a guy who was injured, and they made everyone stop and wait by the walls. The staff helped the guy get up and out of the rink. It seemed pretty responsible. I hope they were able to help him.

Yelp
LOVE IT HERE, but the music needs an update! I went to the all adult night and had an absolute blast I've been here multiple times and always enjoy it. But the music is not the best. I recently came here on Adult night they were catering more to the older meaning over 55 crowd, playing music mostly from the 60s. I would have loved to hear some 2000s or more recent R&B and hip hop to really keep the energy going! I bought my child several times during kids night. She really wants to hear some Tate McRae, Olivia, Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, BLACKPINK, BTS, ETC....They should hire a real Dj or read the room. I love this place overall, the staff's amazing everyone is really nice and helpful. I'm just hoping they can improve the music selection to make it even better. P.S. You can buy tickets online or in person, but I definitely recommend checking their website first since they have different themes and age restrictions on certain nights. Prices usually range from $18-$25 per person. You can bring your own skates or rent theirs. I suggest bringing $0.50 for a locker rental and wearing a pouch instead of a purse (purses aren't allowed on the floor). Also, no outside food or drinks are allowed. They have food and water inside to purchase. They also have a Photo Booth that's pretty fun.

Yelp
I remember going to places like these back in the 90s, and for me the nostalgia easily had me smiling from ear to ear. Unfortunately, getting in was half the battle. Parking took about 15 minutes going in and out of the small private lot in vain and then checking around the block. Eventually we got lucky and found street parking across from The Home Depot. Don't give up! As you would probably expect, there are plenty of groups celebrating birthdays with pizzas and ice cream in between being on wheels, so for a Saturday afternoon this place was packed. Birthday shoutouts were cranked out with some of I think three renditions of the birthday song while the birthday person gets to be center stage. Little first-timers holding onto their grownups for dear life. PVC pipe constructed support rollers providing a false sense of stability. Seasoned pros doing tricks and providing tips and encouragement. With all that said, you're bound to see collisions and near misses. Perhaps that's the other half of the battle. One note about the lockers, which the staff were apologetic about and gave us our 50 cents back when the slot got jammed and proceeded to find us another locker. The folks do the best they can with preserving the feel of those bygone days. A fun lo-tech way to spend the day.

Yelp
What a roller rink! I loveeeee this place!!! The entrance is SO eye catching. I feel like it really gets you excited for what's-to-come. We have been here 5x now... a few regular nights and once for queer night and for Disney night! I like a lot of things about this place. I will ROLL on into the pros and cons :) PROS: GREAT MUSIC If you bring your skates, you can go in first Parking lot WOOOO (unusual for anything LA, OBV) Games! Photo Booth! Snack Bar! Kind / helpful staff GOOD PRICES for skating QUEER night! (means a lot to the LGBTQIA+ community) SMOOTH rink floor CUTE carpet and lovely lights / colors on ceiling / decor is on point! Good workout! Roller skating rocks!!! CONS: Gets crowded - unfortunately it can seem like too much for the size of the rink. Photo Booth works 50% of the time Parking lot fills up FAST They should not have anyone "practicing tricks or speed skating" ... it doesn't make it fun for everyone else so would appreciate if staff could regulate this more. Overall, I get very excited each time to go skating and cannot wait to many more evenings at Moonlight Rollerway!

Yelp
PROS: Stepping into this space is like a delightful trip back in time. It's beautifully vintage, clean, and perfectly nostalgic. The music during open skate sessions is spot on and adds to the great atmosphere. My kids absolutely love it, which makes it extra special since I grew up loving the skating rink myself. Now, we get to enjoy it together as a family. CONS: After attending several kids' classes and public skate sessions, I've noticed some areas where the experience could be improved. The front office staff can come across as less than welcoming at times, which can dampen the otherwise fun vibe. Some of the rules feel a bit restrictive, like not being able to leave and re-enter or requiring water bottles to be empty so you can pay to refill them. While the space is wonderful, the pricing structure can feel excessive. For example, there's a spectator fee for grandparents or non-skating family members, and even small charges like $0.50 for a water refill can add up quickly. It would be great if these policies were reconsidered to make the experience feel more inclusive and family-friendly. For parents budgeting for a class, plan on these costs: class fee ($38) + skate rental ($8) + spectator fee ($5 per person, including non-skating family) + optional skate aid ($8), and if you'd like to skate with your child after, public skate admission ($16 per person) + skate rental ($8). Parking can also be a bit tricky, especially during busy times like birthday parties. This rink has so much potential to be an even more beloved community spot, and I hope they take some steps to enhance the overall experience.

Yelp
1000% NOT recommended for a private party. (at least not for a kid's birthday party) It's a cool venue. Go there to skate on a random night. But don't celebrate a special moment in your life there. You'll walk away with the memory of disappointment and regret when you should have had just the best time. -it's only a 2 hour long party. i knew this going in - but now, after the fact, I can let others know that, that is not long enough. you have to account for the time it takes for people to arrive, kids to get their skates on, and get used to skating. That's 30-45 mins - in and of itself. Then you have to consider eating, cake, and possibly games. That takes up another 45 mins. Before you know it, the kids barely had 30 mins to just skate. It definitely felt rushed and was not worth the $1500 price. Find an establishment that offers at least 3 hours. An extra hour would have made a world of difference. -we were the first party of the day (10 am - noon) and they somehow ran out of pizza. I pre-ordered beverages for the tables and they were not provided. -you only get 15 mins prior to the party to set up. All I had were a handful of table covers and centerpieces and 3 other adults helping me. We still didn't have enough time. if you like to make your events special - this is not the venue for it. -they also just limit your decor options completely anyway. you can barely bring any decor other than table things. Again - if you like your events to be special and decorated, this is not the venue for you. -the $1500 only covers 50 guests. that includes adults, kids, skaters, & people just watching. if you see how large the space is, it feels ridiculous that they wouldn't allow more people to be covered under that price point. It felt empty and I turned a lot of people away who were trying to RSVP because they charge an add'l $30/person. -they nickel and dime for everything - one example is these little skate mate bars the kids hold on to ($8/skate mate) -the customer service was disappointing. they made me feel like i was bothering them by being there. even leading up to the party all of the emails felt very "here's what you CAN'T do". I don't think they enjoy people having parties at their facility.

Yelp
Haven't put on a pair of skates since I was in my 20's so I decided in honor of turning 40 this was something I wanted to do! Myself husband, daughter and myself went on a Saturday afternoon during open skate. Admission and skates for the 3 of us was $75 which was a bit steep in my opinion but oh man did we have a fricken great time! Definitely a busy time so I would recommend if you're not a fan of crowds come midweek or earlier in the day. I think I might have fallen back in love with skating. It was like I never stopped. The rink has a great nostalgic look and feel! The music selection was perfect! A great mix of old, new and a variety of genres. Staff was way nice. Would love to see the bathrooms remodeled but they were at least clean. We didn't get a locker...just put our sneakers in some cubbies. Great rainy day activity and incredibly family friendly especially with little ones. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I'm deeply disappointed in how this place is managed. The manger on shift was unnecessarily hostile about every aspect of the birthday party we were attending. I would definitely not recommend. It was also overcrowded and EXTREMELY hot inside.

Yelp
Not many roller skating rinks are around anymore, and even though the parking lot was small, entrance fee was pretty high for not including rentals, and no beer was available....I enjoyed this place so much! Throwback Thursday's is where it's at. So many oldies played that made the vibe of this place even better. We honestly thought it would just be families, but it was friends, people with unbelievable skate talent, and so much more. I also love how they switched it up every now and then by doing a couples skate or changing the direction of the flow. Make sure you come here for a good time, support this local establishment, and bring on your skate!

Yelp
Loved this place as a kid but now they nickel and dime you and have made zero improvements since the 90s. They wont let you buy the spectator ticket to join a birthday party if you don't have a kid. Even if you show up towards the end of their open hours with the cake... make it make sense?
