The Most Fun Queer Spots In LA (Whether You Drink Or Not) - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

" This iconic roller skating rink has been around since the 1950s, and it’s still our top pick for a fun night out in Glendale. Even if you haven’t actually been to Moonlight Rollerway, you’ve probably seen it in countless TV shows from Euphoria to Barnaby Jones. It’s not uncommon to see queer people in colorful wigs and sparkly outfits here any night of the week, but Rainbow Skate Night is the rink’s official queer-centered session where the DJ bumps gay anthems for all to enjoy. It happens weekly on Wednesdays from 8-10pm, and you should definitely buy your tickets online in advance because they occasionally sell out. " - Nikko Duren

The parking is pretty dire, but I don’t know why the reviews are so low. It was an amazing wholesome experience. Several reviews and the website says you have to buy tickets in advance online. This wasn’t the case. People were buying tickets at the door. It was packed with people, but, somehow, the staff was keeping things under control.

Went to their 90s pop night which was an absolute blast! Was so neat to see folks of all ages and skill levels enjoying skating. Admission was $25 at the door (I brought my own rollerblades though they have roller skates available for rent, no rollerblades for rent) They have lockers for 50 cents. Concession stand and small game section are also there. Will definitely come back!

We went with another couple on a Friday night. It was R&B themed and way more popular than I expected! I had not been rollerskating since I was in elementary school, so I was scared of falling. As soon as we started skating, it was just muscle memory! I had the best time. I was surprised at how much fun skating is. Now I remember 😁 It was a fun date. There is a snack bar with drinks, water, corn dogs. Etc.

Although it was a little far from my place, I still think it’s a must-do fun in LA. Moonlight Rollerway is a retro gem that transports you back to the golden age of roller skating. The rink’s vintage charm, complete with a disco ball and classic music, creates a fun and nostalgic atmosphere perfect for all ages.

Google
This rink inspires childhood core memories to fun times in my 20s to now sharing it with my kids as I enter my "older" years. It may be nostalgia speaking, but I love this place. It's kitschy and charming. Having been to a newer (early 2000s) rink recently, Moonlight is cleaner, smells better, plays a great mix of music, attentive staff and a beautiful wooden floor. Take note that skating and all it entails (locker rental, snacks, skate rentals, etc) is not cheap so this is a special treat for us, not a regular occurrence. Also note parking is very scarce here. You can't bring in your own water bottles unless they're empty and Moonlight will charge you a small fee for water.

Fun experience! Extremely expensive and overcrowded however. Lots of rules to follow the main one being, you can leave and come back. This makes it hard if you forget something in the car 🤷‍♂️ worth trying once.

I took a friend's kids out to roller skating in Glendale. Session runs from 8-11, arrive at 8, stand in line until 8:30 guy in ticket booth says, sorry no on site ticket sales, go to QR code and buy tickets online which requires setting up an Eventbrite account. All persons entering must be skaters, no observers allowed, so I guess if you are handicapped or an adult chaperone tough cookies. If you have your own skates, cool enter with bar code on phone, if not then stand back in line 15 more minutes to get back to ticket window to buy skate rental tickets. The place does not seem to have A/C, so expect to sweat like a pig. Parking is tough, expect to walk for several blocks. No outside water/food allowed and no drinking fountain. So for 2 kids who skate and two adults who don't boom $32 on top of $89 entry fee to get inside, now add the $5 for 20 ounce soda and some popcorn and assorted snacks add another $30 to the tab and the total for the hour and 15 minutes the kids skated the grand total comes to $151, so for a poor purchase experience with a wait time of 45 minutes to get in and being $151 poorer I think I will find other venues to entertain kids besides Moonlight Rollerway.

Google
I been here quite sometimes. Today's experience was horrible. 1st of all I brought my 12 year old daughter and 10 year old grandson. My daughter brought her own skates I was just going because I have to supervise them, drive and of course pay for their entrance and my grandsons skate rentals. I get it I had to pay for my entrance but they force me to pay for state rentals even though I was not skating. The elder lady at cashier said I could leave them if I feel comfortable. 1st of all of, if they fell and hurt themselves how were they going to care for them. Common sense I'm not going to leave my 12 year old and 10year old at a skating ring to save myself on rentals of skates. The other thing, my 12 year old brought her water bottle and they said we have to empty it out. They told me I can pay .50 to fill it up inside the snack bar. This place is desperate for money. Next time I will take my kids to the beach or skate park. Sad that there is not many skating rings and this one wantd to charge you for everything. Last time I will be here. Thanks for showing your desperation.

Yelp
LOVE IT HERE, but the music needs an update! I went to the all adult night and had an absolute blast I've been here multiple times and always enjoy it. But the music is not the best. I recently came here on Adult night they were catering more to the older meaning over 55 crowd, playing music mostly from the 60s. I would have loved to hear some 2000s or more recent R&B and hip hop to really keep the energy going! I bought my child several times during kids night. She really wants to hear some Tate McRae, Olivia, Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, BLACKPINK, BTS, ETC....They should hire a real Dj or read the room. I love this place overall, the staff's amazing everyone is really nice and helpful. I'm just hoping they can improve the music selection to make it even better. P.S. You can buy tickets online or in person, but I definitely recommend checking their website first since they have different themes and age restrictions on certain nights. Prices usually range from $18-$25 per person. You can bring your own skates or rent theirs. I suggest bringing $0.50 for a locker rental and wearing a pouch instead of a purse (purses aren't allowed on the floor). Also, no outside food or drinks are allowed. They have food and water inside to purchase. They also have a Photo Booth that's pretty fun.

Yelp
1000% NOT recommended for a private party. (at least not for a kid's birthday party) It's a cool venue. Go there to skate on a random night. But don't celebrate a special moment in your life there. You'll walk away with the memory of disappointment and regret when you should have had just the best time. -it's only a 2 hour long party. i knew this going in - but now, after the fact, I can let others know that, that is not long enough. you have to account for the time it takes for people to arrive, kids to get their skates on, and get used to skating. That's 30-45 mins - in and of itself. Then you have to consider eating, cake, and possibly games. That takes up another 45 mins. Before you know it, the kids barely had 30 mins to just skate. It definitely felt rushed and was not worth the $1500 price. Find an establishment that offers at least 3 hours. An extra hour would have made a world of difference. -we were the first party of the day (10 am - noon) and they somehow ran out of pizza. I pre-ordered beverages for the tables and they were not provided. -you only get 15 mins prior to the party to set up. All I had were a handful of table covers and centerpieces and 3 other adults helping me. We still didn't have enough time. if you like to make your events special - this is not the venue for it. -they also just limit your decor options completely anyway. you can barely bring any decor other than table things. Again - if you like your events to be special and decorated, this is not the venue for you. -the $1500 only covers 50 guests. that includes adults, kids, skaters, & people just watching. if you see how large the space is, it feels ridiculous that they wouldn't allow more people to be covered under that price point. It felt empty and I turned a lot of people away who were trying to RSVP because they charge an add'l $30/person. -they nickel and dime for everything - one example is these little skate mate bars the kids hold on to ($8/skate mate) -the customer service was disappointing. they made me feel like i was bothering them by being there. even leading up to the party all of the emails felt very "here's what you CAN'T do". I don't think they enjoy people having parties at their facility.

Yelp
Pros: -Retro vibes -Good music -Fun for all ages -LGBTQ friendly Cons: -Pricey -Limited Parking -No outside food or drinks allowed -No coming in & out -Snack bar was not appetizing All in all my kid had fun. I didn't like being charged for skates I didn't want because I was only watching her skate from the sides with my 6 month old but it is what it is. Spent about $60 just to get through the door $25 x 2 admission + $8 skates for myself since we brought hers from home. Sort of worth it for a unique outing I guess?

Yelp
DO NOT come here -- especially if you value professionalism and basic human decency. I came for a child's birthday party, and while skating, I took a serious fall and hit the back of my head. The skates I was given kept sticking and stopping unexpectedly, which is what caused the fall. Two friends came to help me, and a few people nearby offered words of comfort, concerned I might have a concussion due to how hard the impact was. As I walked toward the entrance to find the birthday child's parent -- who had stepped out to take gifts to the car -- an older woman in a dashiki suddenly began yelling at me. I was still disoriented and had no idea she even worked there. She had apparently been yelling for a while, but I couldn't make out what she was saying. I calmly explained that I had paid and had just taken a hard fall. Her response? "Well, go on then." Go on where? I wasn't about to walk back into a space where I was being shouted at while still physically shaken. Mind you, I had seen other people coming in and out, so I assumed that was allowed. That made her outburst even more confusing. My family came over, trying to understand what was going on. I was still trying to de-escalate the situation, but the calmer I was, the more aggressive she became. Then she said, "I didn't say you didn't pay." So... what was all the yelling for? Later, several people from our group shared that they too had been yelled at by the same woman. It was unbelievable how many of us had the same story. And yes -- we were all people of color. I called to speak with a manager afterward and got someone who wasn't one. She said she couldn't do anything because the woman had worked there a long time, was a senior citizen, and held the same position as her. She went on and on until I finally said, "I'm older, my house burned down in the LA fires, and I may have a concussion -- so what are we doing here?" We will never return, and I strongly urge others to avoid this place. Poor equipment, aggressive staff, and no accountability -- this is not a place I'd recommend for any family event.

Yelp
I took my Son Roller Skating for his very first time. I didn't know there was a rink still open in SoCal. The facility is in perfect condition and the staff was very nice. I don't understand why other people left bad reviews. Definitely 5 stars lots of fun for kids & families.

Yelp
Rude staff, disguising bathrooms, awful ventilation, no parking and nickel and dimed every possible thing. Never going again.

Yelp
We are lucky to still have a roller rink nearby. This roller rink is like a blast from the past! Such a fun way to spend your weekend.

Yelp
Not many more roller skating rings around, it was nice to see one from the 50's still around. I'm definitely impressed by vintage style and originality and Moonlight had it all. Ownership definitely has a big part and they're great at it, a very friendly staff and good service. We attended my nieces 13th birthday, it was a private event so the whole place was to ourselves. Everything was great, a little warm inside so maybe pick a time when it's not so hot. Give them a shot if you haven't already.

Yelp
Guess this is the only existing roller rink in Southern California? I honestly haven't been roller skating since high school. You have to pay for entrance even if you're not skating. Our friend decided to opt out of skating and had to pay the $18 entrance, which is not ideal but I get it. But if you're a parent and your kid is skating you can pay $5. Rentals were about $10. This was what I remembered in high school except more little kids with these skating assistant rollers that frankly seem like more of a hazard. Overall this is a cool spot. The parking lot is tiny so if you're not lucky enough to get a spot, you have to find street parking.

Yelp
Authentic and retro roller rink. Great activity for kids. The staff there are also great.

Yelp
The signage everywhere with a million rules was so uninviting. While waiting in line to get tickets for admission you have employees yelling rules at you. We were at the front buying tickets and before I could go in I was told to spit out my gum before I could go in. Mind you I am a 37 year old woman and it made me feel like I was in middle school. The whole place was gross, sticky and hot. Yuck

Yelp
We dropped our husband's at a nearby brewery and us ladies hit the rink. The parking lot is small but there is plenty of street parking and it's well lit. We arrived shortly before 8pm and purchased our tickets for 22.50, which are also available to purchase ahead of time online. Rental skates are 8.00 and my friends say they were pretty comfortable. You may also bring your own, as I do and just need to show the staff that they haven't been altered in any way. It was throw back Thursday and the music was fun and the crowd was a mix. There were the beginners, to the ones who thought they were in a million dollar competition. Overall, it was a great blast from the past and everyone is helpful and friendly. The snack bar had icees , hot dogs , drinks and 4.00 water bottles. The items are a bit overpriced, but they don't allow you to exit and return, nor do they allow drinks or food to be brought inside. The rink was clean, as well as the restroom and we all had a great time and will definitely be back for another night of roller skating.

Yelp
PROS: Stepping into this space is like a delightful trip back in time. It's beautifully vintage, clean, and perfectly nostalgic. The music during open skate sessions is spot on and adds to the great atmosphere. My kids absolutely love it, which makes it extra special since I grew up loving the skating rink myself. Now, we get to enjoy it together as a family. CONS: After attending several kids' classes and public skate sessions, I've noticed some areas where the experience could be improved. The front office staff can come across as less than welcoming at times, which can dampen the otherwise fun vibe. Some of the rules feel a bit restrictive, like not being able to leave and re-enter or requiring water bottles to be empty so you can pay to refill them. While the space is wonderful, the pricing structure can feel excessive. For example, there's a spectator fee for grandparents or non-skating family members, and even small charges like $0.50 for a water refill can add up quickly. It would be great if these policies were reconsidered to make the experience feel more inclusive and family-friendly. For parents budgeting for a class, plan on these costs: class fee ($38) + skate rental ($8) + spectator fee ($5 per person, including non-skating family) + optional skate aid ($8), and if you'd like to skate with your child after, public skate admission ($16 per person) + skate rental ($8). Parking can also be a bit tricky, especially during busy times like birthday parties. This rink has so much potential to be an even more beloved community spot, and I hope they take some steps to enhance the overall experience.

Yelp
Loved this place as a kid but now they nickel and dime you and have made zero improvements since the 90s. They wont let you buy the spectator ticket to join a birthday party if you don't have a kid. Even if you show up towards the end of their open hours with the cake... make it make sense?

Yelp
Music is trash..... And they won't let you wear headphones.... Ruin the skate session. Terrible place. I would not suggest coming here. You would want your money back.... All you can do is go around in a circle. Not a enjoyable experience

Yelp
I am a competitive roller skater and I skated at moonlight roller way for 2 years,it's where I learned to skate and where I started my skating journey.Everything was going great until out of the blue the owners made an announcement. "We are firing all of our coaches there will no longer be a skate team" I was so upset.I couldn't skate for weeks it broke my heart. But then me,my mom,and my coach found a place. And now I have a team,my original coach and the new place is the opposite of moonlight. My new rink is relaxing, outdoors, the owner is so nice, and we are much happier here.I still go to moonlight for events but other wise I try not to go because of what happened to me.

Yelp
$38 each kid for lessons, no problem. $5 for the parent to watch, ok! You can't bring your coffee inside because they want to sell you their instant stuff, come on!!!!

Yelp
Old school roller skating fun. It's literally out of 1985. The smell, the skates, and the vibe of the place remind me of being 11 or 12. We had a blast, but then again, I skated a lot when I was young. The parking is not so great at night, however. Be ready to park in some questionable allies or have to walk a lot. Also - water is a fortune there and the lockers only take quarters. So pretend like it's 30 years ago and go have a blast.

Nia B.

Yelp
Love the roller rink being here before very retro and semi- cool. I called with a simple question about rink rules being injured. Apparently if you come in even if you don't plan on skating you must pay admission and for skates, which is fine. but the lady on the phone was quite rude and was very quick to hang up on me. I was very polite and asked her how she was and I think how simple my question was didn't warrant an attitude. This Customer Service is a no from me‍

Yelp
Haven't put on a pair of skates since I was in my 20's so I decided in honor of turning 40 this was something I wanted to do! Myself husband, daughter and myself went on a Saturday afternoon during open skate. Admission and skates for the 3 of us was $75 which was a bit steep in my opinion but oh man did we have a fricken great time! Definitely a busy time so I would recommend if you're not a fan of crowds come midweek or earlier in the day. I think I might have fallen back in love with skating. It was like I never stopped. The rink has a great nostalgic look and feel! The music selection was perfect! A great mix of old, new and a variety of genres. Staff was way nice. Would love to see the bathrooms remodeled but they were at least clean. We didn't get a locker...just put our sneakers in some cubbies. Great rainy day activity and incredibly family friendly especially with little ones. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Moonlight Rollerway, I want to love you. I want to gush over the fun and the nostalgia and the good times. I grew up skating. The roller rink was a routine part of my teenage years. It was fun and cool and sweet. It was a place with good music, where young romances bloomed and friends got to show off their balance and skill. And I understand by saying all that I'm proving I'm an old stoggy fart because we went with a group of mostly 30 somethings and for several of them it was the first time they'd ever stepped foot in a roller rink. So you might imagine my disappointment when we stepped inside and one of my first thoughts was, "Dang, it's hot in here". And we laced up and rolled onto the floor and the temperature began to rise. And within an hour or so my shirt's plastered to my body and I could really use some water and I discover that they sell water but don't have a drinking fountain. And my feet are a little sore from a motion that I'm not accustomed to but I quickly realize that it's really hot on the rink floor but at least you're moving. In the area with tables and benches, there's almost no air flow, so it's unbearably, suffocatingly hot. And the choice becomes, continue to exercise or suffer in the heat!! It's a horrible choice!! I continued to exercise for the next hour or more, until the blister developing on my heel forced me to stop. And at that point, the newbies in the group were still polite about it, but it was clear they'd had enough and were likely never driving 20 miles and paying $25 to swelter in another roller rink. The bathrooms made me smile. They were like stepping into a time warp. And I loved that the DJ played requests, but the heat and the mediocre music and the price all mean that even as an enthusiastic, old, stoggy fan of roller rinks, I'll probably never come back.

Yelp
This was my first time roller skating in 10+ years! I'm not a skater by any means. However, it ended up being really fun for me. The reason for 3 stars are mostly logistics. The parking situation is tough. They have a small lot. You can't park at Home Depot because they will tow you. The rink has resorted to double parking. They will call out your car model & license plate over the speakers if you need to move your car. There are some free street parking spots, but it's a bit sketchy area. You can't buy tickets at the door for nighttime skating. They use EventBrite, which charges like a $2 fee. There is a chance that the tickets will sell out. There are 2-3 waivers you have to sign when you buy your ticket online. I paid $21 for 3 hours (8PM-11PM). You cannot leave the building (like to grab something from your car) and come back in. No re-entry. Skate rentals are separate, as in it's not on EventBrite. You have to pay $7 for it at the door. They give you a small receipt, which you give to the skates guys. The vending machine that has water is broken. It will decline your credit card but eat your cash. The staff was nice enough to give us the water that we paid for, but it seems like it was common enough for them to understand. Highly recommend bringing your own water! There are other vending machines with some snacks if you don't want to wait in line for things like popcorn or hot dogs. Lockers cost 50 cents every time you close or open it. If you ever need to grab something out of it, like water, you need 2 more quarters. They do have a change machine, so if you don't have quarters, they will accept $1, $5, and $10 bills. What I thought was nice was that the skating seemed structured. They change the direction 3-4 times. The music is loud and good variety from the last 5-7 decades. There are a few staff members who skate around and blow their whistle if they see people not following rules, like if they're not moving in the rink. There was a guy who was injured, and they made everyone stop and wait by the walls. The staff helped the guy get up and out of the rink. It seemed pretty responsible. I hope they were able to help him.

Yelp
I am surprised to see the negative reviews of Moonlight. Yes, it is a pricey activity. But hey... they are still OPEN, and I don't think there are literally any other roller rinks in Los Angeles that still are, so keep that in mind when looking at the prices. You are paying to keep a niche business that we all love open. My daughter started classes here a few years ago after Skateland in Northridge closed. She recently just started taking private lessons from one of their coaches too. They do special shows a couple of times a year where the students showcase what they are learning in lessons. It creates a fun, special community. Moonlight is super LGBTQ friendly. I've gone with my daughter to Rainbow Skate on Wednesday nights, and it is like an all ages LGBT dance club, on wheels, with no alcohol. It is a perfect, healthy environment for queer teens. Coach Jeff has been a godsend. He is kind and understanding and his choreography is fantastic. Yes, they do charge a $5 spectator cost if you come to watch your kids' lessons, but that keeps it from being too crowded. If its nice weather, I'll sometimes just sit in my car and wait, but if it is too hot outside, I will just pay it, and really, it's not that much to pay to sit and do some work while she takes her lesson. I'd spend more on a latte if I waited at Starbucks. Some complaints seem to be about their strict policies regarding wheels and no ins and outs and stuff. They do that to protect the skate floor. They take skating seriously. This is a great place to go if you take skating seriously.

Yelp
I remember going to places like these back in the 90s, and for me the nostalgia easily had me smiling from ear to ear. Unfortunately, getting in was half the battle. Parking took about 15 minutes going in and out of the small private lot in vain and then checking around the block. Eventually we got lucky and found street parking across from The Home Depot. Don't give up! As you would probably expect, there are plenty of groups celebrating birthdays with pizzas and ice cream in between being on wheels, so for a Saturday afternoon this place was packed. Birthday shoutouts were cranked out with some of I think three renditions of the birthday song while the birthday person gets to be center stage. Little first-timers holding onto their grownups for dear life. PVC pipe constructed support rollers providing a false sense of stability. Seasoned pros doing tricks and providing tips and encouragement. With all that said, you're bound to see collisions and near misses. Perhaps that's the other half of the battle. One note about the lockers, which the staff were apologetic about and gave us our 50 cents back when the slot got jammed and proceeded to find us another locker. The folks do the best they can with preserving the feel of those bygone days. A fun lo-tech way to spend the day.

Yelp
4 stars because this place is unique and love the dedication to the vintage vibes But it ain't cheap and for that we can't really afford to go as often as we would like. Beautiful one of a kind spot

Yelp
Roller skating is fun! Unless the venue doesn't provide air conditioning on a 90 degree day and does not allow water bottles in and charges $4 per water bottle when you can get a whole case for that price at the market! It was cooler outside than in the stuffy rink and even though we spent hundreds of dollars for a birthday party they charged $8 per refill for our guests to have water! Be very cautious when coming here as you might overheat and be dehydrated if you can't afford water. They do not have a water fountain nor anyway to get water except in a merchandise cup you must purchase. Good luck!
google avatar

Yelp
Super fun place to skate if you're a casual skater! Came here for a friend's birthday celebration and we had a blast. I'm giving it 4 stars due to the price and the amount of people that were there. Obviously I want everyone to enjoy roller skating but at one point the skating rink had so many people I felt like I could barely move. For the price it was $22.50 just to get in and $8 for the roller skates and personally that is a bit pricey. Even with that price though I would love to come back for another celebration in the future.

Yelp
Very cool environment and a fun weekend spot to vide and skate! The entire place was pretty crowded but it made it just as fun. Make sure you bring some water!

Yelp
What a roller rink! I loveeeee this place!!! The entrance is SO eye catching. I feel like it really gets you excited for what's-to-come. We have been here 5x now... a few regular nights and once for queer night and for Disney night! I like a lot of things about this place. I will ROLL on into the pros and cons :) PROS: GREAT MUSIC If you bring your skates, you can go in first Parking lot WOOOO (unusual for anything LA, OBV) Games! Photo Booth! Snack Bar! Kind / helpful staff GOOD PRICES for skating QUEER night! (means a lot to the LGBTQIA+ community) SMOOTH rink floor CUTE carpet and lovely lights / colors on ceiling / decor is on point! Good workout! Roller skating rocks!!! CONS: Gets crowded - unfortunately it can seem like too much for the size of the rink. Photo Booth works 50% of the time Parking lot fills up FAST They should not have anyone "practicing tricks or speed skating" ... it doesn't make it fun for everyone else so would appreciate if staff could regulate this more. Overall, I get very excited each time to go skating and cannot wait to many more evenings at Moonlight Rollerway!

Yelp
This place is like time traveling to a nostalgic place in my beloved childhood memories. The music. The carpet. The lights. The snack bar. Such a fun place to skate with kiddos or on a date night. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I'm an ice skater and costs to keep a warehouse cold is much more than a roller rink. Ice skating public is $18 and NO spectator fees!!!! Also you may bring your own food and coffee. This is a joke for roller skating where overhead isnt NEARLY as much as an ice rink. Ripping people off

Yelp
My daughter and I had a great time. The gentleman behind the counter was very pleasant. It's a great time if you are teaching your child how to skate. They have bar that looks like a walker on wheels that helps them get comfortable with skating.

Yelp
It's understandable that most things cost so much these days, so not going to complain about the cost for a day of skating here. However, there are some things that definitely need adjusting: * Water that isn't bottled should not be charged for, especially when you cannot bring in your own. * Staff was odd...I don't want to say flat out rude, but maybe low key rude? Definitely no HR department here reminding employees how to interact with the general public. * It's a million degrees in there, and this is coming from someone who normally doesn't sweat easily. If you love to skate, you'll have a good time, just be prepared for some nuances while you're there.

Yelp
Not many roller skating rinks are around anymore, and even though the parking lot was small, entrance fee was pretty high for not including rentals, and no beer was available....I enjoyed this place so much! Throwback Thursday's is where it's at. So many oldies played that made the vibe of this place even better. We honestly thought it would just be families, but it was friends, people with unbelievable skate talent, and so much more. I also love how they switched it up every now and then by doing a couples skate or changing the direction of the flow. Make sure you come here for a good time, support this local establishment, and bring on your skate!

Yelp
So fun I absolutely love rollerskating here it's a giant rink and normally isn't too crowded! There a bunch of staff on the floor to keep everyone safe and there's even a giant disco that hangs from the ceiling! Also I'd just like to note that the claw machine with the stuffed animals isn't a scam because after 3 tries me and my friend won a pig. Definitely go here if you're looking for a place to skate!

Yelp
They make you pay for roller skates rental even if you're not skating. They also make you buy the ticket through Eventbrite, so you get slapped with their fees as well. What a rip off. Do not recommend.

Yelp
Do not come here. I mentioned to the older man working the rental area that my skates are new. He criticized them because they're obviously trendy and not up to classic standards as he proceeded to loosen each wheel. As I struggled making my first loop around the rink, a wheel comes off and is no where to be found. If you're loosening something that I need to balance on you need to make sure you do not loosen them to the point where I lose a wheel. This was so extremely careless and irresponsible because had I actually been going any faster I would've probably broken my head because of his action. Do not come here

Yelp
Such a fun roller rink to visit. This roller rink brings back so many childhood memories. Loved the smooth floor and pricing at this location. I brought my own skates and just had to pay a $11 am admission fee. FREE limited parking is available in the lot and on the surrounding streets. Yes, this place needs revamping and can get busy but for the pricing it's all good and no complaints on my end. This place offers secured lockers so make sure to bring some quarters with you during your visit. I also liked how we could share song requests to the DJ to play some good jams while skating out on the rink. I've been to Pigeons and this rink is 4X larger then that roller rink, snack are offered AND parking is free. It's quite a drive for me and I believe it's a pop up location so wont be around for long. SO go with Moonlight Rollerway.

Yelp
What a fun activity to do if you're interested in trying out roller skating or know how to roller skate! I love the theme nights and it makes for a wonderful time!

Yelp
DANGEROUS!!! Regardless of whether or not you are an experienced skater. The rink is extremely crowded with a vast majority of the people have never skated or are very inexperienced. I was dragged down by another skater twice. The second time when this young man used me to catch him from falling causing my leg to essentially break in half. I laid on the rink for 20 minutes while patrons sat right in front of me and watched me scream in pain, and staff told me I likely rolled my ankle. Finally when the paramedics arrived, other patrons continued to take a front row seat while I listed my medications etc. At the hospital I learned that my tibia, fibia and ankle are all broken. Nurses also mentioned that they deal with INJURIES FROM MOONLIGHT ALMOST DAILY! This is not a safe place for anyone to skate, it could definitely be you.

Yelp
This place has been around for decades. A fun fact if you aren't familiar with Moonlight, It's been used as a location spot for many film& tv shoots. Look closely the next time you watch a show where they skate!!! My girlfriend invited me to join her the other day to celebrate her friend's birthday. It was LGBQTIA night and I was excited to be there. The last time I skated was 9 years ago, so I pulled out my skates buried deep in my garage, dusted them off and headed to the rink. I managed to grab a spot in the parking lot before it was full. There is plenty of free street parking as well. You have to purchase your tickets now online but can pay for skate rental there. It's wasn't too crowded when we got there at 8pm. However, by 9:00 the skate floor was getting crowded. The music was awesome and fun to skate to. Everyone was having a good time which definitely made my night. Inside they have lockers for rent at 50 cents. They have a change dispenser so don't stress if you come without any coins! They also have plenty of benches and tables to sit a song or two out. The concession stand is open for snacks and drinks. Also, a few vending machines with ice cream. Yum! We both had fun, got a good workout and managed not to fall or get knocked over! I would say we "dun" good!!!

Yelp
Person at the front gate was completely unsympathetic and wouldn't let multiple parents in because she couldn't tell that the name of the birthday child was a nickname (the equivalent of parents saying they were there for Matthew when the reservation was for "Matt"). Aside from the sour entry experience the rental people were great and kids had a lot of fun

Yelp
My son loves this place. Whenever he wants to roller skate we always go here. We mostly go during the daytime but the one time we went nighttime it was "Grease" night. It was very enjoyable. Great times!

Yelp
For $25 admission I would think that the rink would be bigger! The bathrooms are disgusting, there was toilet paper on the floor with PEE on it, it hadn't even been 15 minutes open. Staff seems very rude.

Yelp
Literally the worst place ever. Not only is it astronomically priced to get in, then they charge you on top of that for skates, and every single thing else. The staff all have terrible, rude personalities. It's super small and over crowded. There's zero parking. And then, to top it off, they kicked me out for wearing a small, close to my body Fanny pack across my body and not around my waist. (I can not wear it there as it's too big for my waist. I can not assume, they wanted me to pay even more money for a locker) The woman who kicked me out came up yelling at me so I yelled back at her, then she told me I was embarrassing my son. How dare she?! I hate this place. Never again.

Yelp
I would love this place so much more if they had a working AC and played better music. It gets so insanely hot in there, especially since it's usually overcrowded. This has been an issue for years and it seems like they still haven't addressed it. Secondly, the music they play is just either bad or sad/slow. A few songs here and there are pretty fun and nice to skate to. They do take requests usually, but they seriously need to update their general playlist.

Yelp
Not kid friendly, especially if your child is on the spectrum. The most of the staff is elderly and rude. Very unaware and uncaring. Take your money elsewhere. The ladies at the front are horrible!!! The man handing out the skates is even worse. Literally had to walk right out. Waste of money and time. Wish i could give them 0 stars. You guys are the worst!
