"You go to Moonridge Coffee because it’s 7am, you’re hungover and pissed at your friend for waking you up this early to “be first on the lake,” and you need coffee. Moonridge is probably the closest you can get to the Bear Mountain Resort without actually going in, and that means cheaper prices. Breakfast is the way to go here - this is your one-stop carbo-load shop before your eight-mile hike." - Brant Cox

This is not only the best coffee shop in Big Bear, but probably one of the best I’ve ever been too. And I’ve been to hundreds all around. The staff is so friendly, personal, and they really seem to care about their craft and the job they do. The food is great, something you’d definitely find in a cafe. The aiolis are made in house, and really make the sandwiches even more delicious. The best thing about this coffee shop. Is the love and care you feel there. It really feels like home the second you walk through the door. This coffee shop has absolutely amazing coffee, and I am a coffee snob and very particular. And time I go to big bear I’ll definitely be coming here. What a magical place.

What a vibe. From the entrance, to the cozy mountain home interior. This place is rad. Especially, my first time in big bear, I was like “this is why I came here.” Had an iced coffee and a scramble. Toast was fire. They had someone playing guitar in there as well. Just a 10/10 experience.

Google
This is a great little coffee shop. It’s actually more than a coffee shop as they serve breakfast and lunch. The store is super cute and they have downstairs and upstairs seating. The staff is super friendly and the place is nice and clean. They have many drink options, including several specialty coffee drinks. They also have Italian soda type drinks with many different options. We didn’t eat food, but saw the menu and food being sent out. So there’s an So there’s a breakfast side and a lunch side. The breakfast you can order coffees, teas, and pastries as well as breakfast menu items. So there are breakfast options, like coffee, tea, pastries, and breakfast menu items. Overall, this is a great place to grab a coffee and I’m sure it’s good for lunch too.

I was spent a weekend with my daughter in the Moonridge area of Big Bear at a friends cabin. We were excited to spend the day with my granddaughter Elsa and her sister. Our first stop was Moonridge Coffee where Elsa had just gotten a job. This coffee shop is so cute and so Big Bear with their cozy log cabin look!! The coffee was wonderful…we didn’t have lunch there but their food looked really good👍🏻😁 I loved the places you sit at and nice that they have an outside area as well! We had Elsa’s golden retriever with us and was happy to know they are dog friendly. I look forward to going back, Elsa loves working there! She always has great things to say about her co-workers and the great atmosphere there👍🏻

Google
Coffee was delicious! We got there right at the time it was being opened. Service was fast and accurate. It’s now my favorite coffee spot when visiting Big Bear.

Google
A great place to kickstart your day with a perfect cup of joe! The rustic atmosphere really sets the mood—it’s like stepping into a cozy cabin without the need to chop firewood. Their house drip? Right in that sweet spot between bold and smooth—like it was brewed by a barista who moonlights as a professional tastebud whisperer. And the staff? Super friendly and accommodating—honestly, if they were any nicer, they’d offer to help you with your taxes.

- Atmospheric place - Big queue, clearly in demand :) - Latte 4 out of 5. It's a little bitter for me. - There are plenty of places to sit inside and outside - I liked it

It’s always so lovely to spend time at moonridge coffee co! They have the best breve lattes on the mountain! I can I’m today and they had a live Musican playing! Also The owner Rob has the best outlook on life so I’m not surprised how successful his businesses are!

Yelp
These guys are the Bee's Knees. The Cat's Pajamas. The Ambassadors of Kwan. Drink their coffee and you will have eternal life. Their service is love in its truest form. Listen to their jokes and you will remember what it is to laugh like a child. Feel the classic rock vibes and be transported to another dimension. Moonridge Coffee Company is better than your favorite coffee shop by a factor of a million. Fact. Here endeth the review.

Yelp
Always a go-to spot for a coffee and breakfast sandwich when up in Big Bear! Great selection of baked treats and a wonderful staff that makes you feel at home. Cozy and warm aesthetic indoors and a nice patio for a beautiful day!

David V.

Yelp
The hostess was very nice and welcoming. Very cozy place to have a bite. The food was tasty too!

Josue G.

Yelp
The service is excellent here. I told the barista that my son had a nut allergy and she made sure his drink was made with new materials. Truly went above and beyond, thank you! ps. Germanie was her name. Thank you!

Kristoffer A.

Yelp
Worst service. If you want to overpay and wait forever for cold food and subpar coffee, you've come to the right place. We received our online food order an hour after we put it in, watching other huge group walk-ins receive their orders. When we finally received our order we were missing half of it, they forgot to put the over priced cookies, cinnamon bun, and "fresh fruit" which is the most expensive unsliced apple ever sold. Coffee was subpar and the actual food was cold by the time we actually got it.

MIchael K.

Yelp
Always a pleasure. I usually some here in the mornings to enjoy black coffee and read my book.

Yelp
After checking out of our BNB, we wanted to make a quick stop to get some coffee before hitting the road. The place was packed around 10am on Sunday. The coffee shops had a real cozy vibe. Ambiance is nice and a good place to have a convo. Can get crowded with a few waves of rushes so keep that in mind! All the workers were kind and my group and I waited about 20 minutes to get our order in. I ordered the macadamia cold brew. The cold brew itself wasn't anything special and quite expensive for what it was. Would give it a 3/5. I heard the food is good but am unable to comment on that. They do have a variety of baked goods and sandwiches. As a whole I think my group and I agreed the coffee was mediocre but maybe we just need to give this place another try.

Dev L.

Yelp
Lovely cold brew with hints of maple. But the real winner was the pumpkin chai muffin. Whoa, what beautiful flavors of nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon! Next time we'll grab sandwiches before biking.

Evgenii K.

Yelp
The atmosphere and variety here is awesome! Really loved the ambiance and appreciated the generosity

Yelp
Stopped by this quaint spot after leaving the zoo. The coffee was great, along with the delicious coffee cake. The lounge area was so comfortable and cool. It was a hot day. I really wanted to stay and take a nap. Highly recommend this lovely place with super friendly staff.

Tony S.

Yelp
Amazing local coffee shop, friendly staff...definitely a must stop on every big Bear trip! Matcha is double thumbs up! We love sitting on the porch / patio.

Zulfiia K.

Yelp
Atmospheric cafe, wow interior. You can have breakfast. Latte is a bit bitter. Lots of tables, sofas, chairs. Polite staff. Lots of customers, the coffee shop is popular.

Shantel M.

Yelp
Located a drive below right before you start heading up big Bear. Stopped to get coffee and some breakfast. I got the sausage burrito with egg. Service was quick and the guy rang me up was nice. Condiments and utensils available on the side. Dogs are also welcomed! Nice view on the balcony if you don't want to sit inside.

Claudia T.

Yelp
The coffee was okay. The place inside and out is very clean and neatly kept. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area in the front and back. Inside had a ton of seating and service was fast. They have a lot of pastries but we didn't try them this time.

Christina H.

Yelp
While this place was cute, this is not a coffee shop to stop at if you are looking to grab a quick coffee to go. 1) We stood in line for 15-20 mins just to place our order. We would have waited longer had the group in front of us not left. They got tired of waiting... I was tempted to walk out as well. 2) If you want to spend $20 on two lattes, this is the place to go. 3) We waited another 10+ mins for our drinks. 4) One drink was made wrong and was so bitter, I had to go back and have them remake it. I was tempted to ask for my money back. 5) Waiting 30+ mins and $20 for mediocre coffee is not the business. The owners/ managers need to come up with a better system and teach better customer service for a place that seems to get pretty busy. 1) You need at least two registers. 2) Have someone float to help with the pastries and merchandise so the person at the register can focus on inputting drinks and keep the line moving. One person to run the register, help with pastries, and help with merchandise is huge factor why the line gets backed up and people are waiting in line so long. 3) Tell your baristas to not check their phones or text while the line is to the door. 4) Teach your baristas to come up with a better flow to make drinks collaboratively so they are not crossing over each other. 5) Tell your baristas to not make drinks for themselves when customers have been waiting for a long time for their drinks. 6) And don't put up a sign asking for 5 star reviews because the owner will take the staff shoe shopping if they receive a certain amount of 5 star reviews. This place has potential if kinks are worked out and prices are adjusted, but it is not a place I would go back to based on my experience and what I was able to observe with all the waiting.

Yelp
Cozy log cabin comfort for your morning fix in Big Bear. Great option to come in and hang by the fire while listening to their solid music selection. My whole group enjoyed our breakfast and drinks.

Krystal T.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop. I had a chai latte with 2 scoops of matcha. It was busy but the drinks came fast

Kim A.

Yelp
Smiling, friendly service. Great coffee and food. We love to shop local wherever we go.

Rachel C.

Yelp
Came in on a Monday with a large group. While one barista was on break, the other effectively took our orders and started making drinks and food. She customized a drink from a previous iteration seasonal menu and managed expectations well. We look forward to coming back.

Connie S.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee shop , amazing Owner and great coffee for fresh new day! Definitely Chuck and I will visit again!

Liza A.

Yelp
Authentic shop line moves fast and the owner was giving out free coffee cake samples to people in line 10/10

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Coffee was amazing! Great atmosphere and super nice staff! We got the hazelnut lattes and the flavor was on point!

Hiba Q.

Yelp
This coffee spot is so cute and cozy! Great coffee, food and service! Check them out if you're in town.

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Moonridge Coffee Company was the last place we stopped at to grab a coffee for the road. The place was buzzing at 10am, so it took a while for us to get our drinks. Service was pleasant enough, and soon enough, we got our coffees to go. I opted for the Spice Girl latte with oat milk. To be honest, the spice was weak, almost watered down; I would've loved for the spices to be amped up and stronger. I also had a sip of the Pumpkin Chai, which was more flavorful, but too sweet. Overall, it was just-mediocre coffee and not very cheap. I guess it does the trick for chilling out, as the café's interior is very cozy in the cabin style. Otherwise, I'd forgo it for other cafés in town.

JaeMin K.

Yelp
Love this cute little cafe. Food: We tried the peanut butter bar and the chocolate almond coffee cake. Both were phenomenal; the peanut butter bar was the perfect boost for our mid-hike snack and the chocolate almond coffee cake was delightfully nutty and not as sweet as it looks or sounds (in the best way). I didn't love my matcha latte (it was a bit chalky), but their regular drip, and the lattes (both decaf and regular) with almond milk were delicious! They use and sell beans from Sisters Coffee from Oregon. Service: Very friendly. Our drinks came out relatively fast as well. Ambiance: It's a cute interior, and it also has a nice patio both in the front and back. There's both tables for larger groups and comfy sofas to enjoy your drinks. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Big Bear!

Nasim V.

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop and café in the Mooonridge neighborhood. They have a great selection of hot and iced coffee drinks, with all the milk substitutes that a millennial could want. Nice variety of baked goods, pastries, food items, and an assortment of teas too. The staff here is friendly and the prices are reasonable. The avocado toast was tasty! They have both indoor and patio seating, with parking available directly in front. The lines can get a little long during peak times and holiday weekends.

Kierstin M.

Yelp
I love this place! The food is made to order and the coffee is delicious (: Even when the shop is busy, the employees are so friendly.

Jasmin B.

Yelp
Great coffee, warm ambiance, friendly staff. I usually stop in on a weekend morning, it gets busy sometimes with a 5-8 minute wait in line. They seem pretty efficient. Great seating while you wait and eat, both indoors and outdoors.

Leopres F.

Yelp
We go here every time we are in Big Bear and they are quite delicious ! I love that they have seasonal menus as well but you can't go wrong with your original drinks. They did change management and it seems like the new manager is keeping some things but adding their own flare to the place. It's definitely livened up with more lighting and an even addition to the menu of Italian sodas. I will definitely try to get a picture of that menu soon. If you're ever in Big Bear, please give them a try !!

Jessica C.

Yelp
Great food and great coffee! Service was fast and very friendly. Will definitely be back our next time in BB!

Kiaura M.

Yelp
Pleasant ambiance. Smells good inside like fall and bacon. Convenient to our Airbnb. Kind service

Vanessa T.

Yelp
I'm conflicted. This location is a big, beautiful cabin with a loft, plenty of outdoor seating, and a fireplace inside. Tables as well as couches make it a great spot for hanging out or studying. However, the food they serve is not anything special. It's overpriced & can be easily recreated at home. The "everything toast" hits the spot, but its 4 ingredients thrown together. The lunch sandwiches are deli meats and come with a bag of chips. If you're looking for a decent coffee, this is your spot. But I wouldn't recommend spending the money on breakfast or lunch here.

Zofia G.

Yelp
Such a great little coffee shop. I love the polite service, delicious coffee and the pastries are very good. The ambiance is so perfect.

Ian P.

Yelp
The long line of 25 people, although intimidating that it would take a while, meant one thing to me; that this place was great! A local coffee shop with a nice selection of your normal coffee, with a rotating 10 option seasonal menu for all of your favorite drinks. The 25 person line only took about 10 minutes to go through with no negative effect on the quality of the drinks we ordered. The staff were friendly even while jam packed. There is a nice cabin ambiance with music and outdoor seating. This is a must try if in Big Bear for any kind of trip.

Jo S.

Yelp
This is our first time in Big Bear and we were looking a place to grab a coffee and Moonridge coffee was the perfect way to start our day. Good coffee, super friendly people. We will definitely be back!

Zmark B.

Yelp
One of the best coffee shops in big Bear! Super nice staff there, check out their seasonal menus.

ra l.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town. Their mocha with almond milk was great. House coffee was good and their pastries were good. Nice location and friendly owners. Seems a lot of locals come here and you can talk with. Nice layout will come back whenever visiting

Heather C.

Yelp
The staff here are great and of course the food and coffee too. Definitely a must stop place whenever I'm in town.

Brandi V.

Yelp
LOVE this coffee shop! Nestled along the evolving strip of shops in Big Bear, Moonridge Coffee Shop offers a delightful mountain retreat. Outdoor seating allows you to savor your coffee amidst fresh snowfall in winter, while the recently updated interior offers a cozy atmosphere. Whether you choose the loft, the "living room" by the fireplace, or the bustling "cafe" section, you are sure to enjoy the experience. The impeccable service, with hands-on owners ensuring everyone's satisfaction, adds a personal touch. The coffee surpasses mainstream chains, and their specialty sandwiches, especially the breakfast ones, are a highlight. The charming touch of drinks named after the owners' grandsons adds a heartwarming appeal. With occasional piano performances adding to the ambiance, Moonridge Coffee Shop is a hidden gem in Big Bear. A must-visit destination for those seeking a genuine mountain coffee experience. You won't be disappointed!

Rebecca C.

Yelp
We were in the area and were lured in by the sign that said "Lunch" out in front (pictured in the review). Unfortunately, as a pescatarian, there were very few options. The menu on yelp said "Soup of the day," and there was a whiteboard directly behind the counter that said "minestrone soup" but when I went to order it apparently they only serve soup on the weekends. I wish this had been indicated. I ended up getting an avocado toast, which was an okay snack but I did stop by the grocery store later on for a 1lb of potato salad to supplement. My boyfriend's sandwich was just okay, and the iced coffee was fine. This might be on me for trying to get a full lunch at a coffee place, but the "Lunch" sign outside made me think they would have a bit more. Service was on the slow side. At least there was plentiful parking in front though!

D S.

Yelp
Loved this mom and pop find. The girls inside were friendly and sweet and happy to help. Starbucks can keep their coffee! Crafted with love! This atmosphere is exactly why we came to Big Bear. I'm sitting on the porch in Adirondack chairs having my coffee this morning, as I type this!

Rachel C.

Yelp
Stopped in after a morning at the zoo. It's nice to find a coffee shop that also has interesting beverages for the non-coffee drinker. I had an iced caramel macchiato and my companion got a tall grass soda (you'll have to look at the soda menu to see what's in it!) Both were tasty. I had forgotten to ask for half sweet, but it was made to perfection. I was feeling basic and got grilled cheese on sourdough. My companion had southwest avocado toast. Both were tasty and fit the bill. My one criticism is that they were both served as those we were taking it to-go (foil wrapped sandwich, avo toast in a styrofoam clamshell) which felt less comfortable as we sat in the cafe to eat. An added benefit was a 73 yo man who has lived in the area for 30 years recount his adventures both here and in Hawaii. Don't you just love people?

Thor M.

Yelp
Awesome service! Awesome coffee. 3 days in a row! We will be back again in the snow season! Can't wait!

Pat A.

Yelp
I'm Swooning at the Moon and Stars! Even before you walk in - you know it's going to be 5+ stars. The line is out the door, and everyone is smiling and happy! The front porch is delightful. Walk thru the door, and the ambiance is true Big Bear and the Mountain Life. The menu is phenomenal. I decided upon the Avocado Toast on Thick Sourdough. Sliced avocado, arugula, Feta cheese, cracked black pepper & salt. Drizzled with olive oil & lemon. So delicious. I could have eaten 3! I also ordered the Moonridge Breakast Sandwich on Sourdough. 2 fried eggs, bacon, Cheddar cheese, sliced tomato & arugula. I'm still dreaming about it! And the cheese Danish - So fresh! And then, of course, the Coffee! A Caffè Latte and an Iced Coffee with Cream. I seriously think it's the Best Coffee I've ever had. And you know I travel the World!

Leilani M.

Yelp
This is a must stop cafe you need to visit when you're in big bear! Parking wasn't a problem, plenty along the front of the cafe. Upon entering you get a woodsy vibe! What I really look forward to when coming out here! Very well decorated and signs make you feel like you're at home. Tony was very sweet and friendly. He helped pick out the perfect tea for me. Customer service was the best!! You can also mix flavors for Italian sodas! Plenty of seating indoor, in the front, outback and upstairs! All their bakery items are freshly made! A definite plus for me. We will def make this a must stop every time we come here.

Veronica K.

Yelp
Musician playing great music, cold brew is excellent, food delicious. Always glad to spend time here at our fave coffee shop. The staff is always friendly and welcoming
