Very quaint place in Maryland, the aesthetic fits the artsy and the indie, though the music is mainstream. The food is satisfying and has wonderful flavor, the steak and brie sandwich was delicious. The steak was tender, although slightly on the saltier side. I would've liked some raspberry in with the sandwich, but otherwise it was delicious. The blackberry salad was refreshing, and the kale and beet salad was delicious according to my father. My brother had the Ruben and said it was a very good sandwich. Our server was soft spoken, but sweet nonetheless and helpful! Definitely will come back if I'm in the area.

Stopped by for late lunch. Place was quiet and we were the only customers. Atmosphere is really unique and has a neat ecclecticism. Steak and Brie, Blackberry Salad, Rueben, Beet salad and Truffle Fries were all very delicious. Flavors were even better than expected. Love the varied/unmatched flatware and glasses. One glass had a soapy residue and server replaced immediately with a better glass. Solid Recommend.

Went for the Buffalo cauliflower, they were out, but still left happy!! Super cool decor without going over the top tacky, the staff were really, really sweet. We got the blistered Olives, excellent, the smokehouse burger, perfectly done, and the buffalo shrimp, great balance of heat and flavor. Plenty of seating inside and puppies are welcome on the patio. We are just here for the weekend, but might check out their Sunday brunch before we head home.

We sat at the bar and had great service. Bar service is usually more attentive than table service at most establishments in my opinion. The food came out quickly and hot. There was live nusic which made the noise level higher than normal, but we were still able to have conversations. All food was good and we enjoyed our time here.

Google
We enjoyed lunch on Friday afternoon. Maybe 4 tables occupied. The service was great, thank you Liberty, the food is very good. We had the crab dip, a Rueben and salads. Everything was delicious. Portions are fair and a little pricey. But you can't beat when you Eat Real Food.

Google
A Deep Creek hidden gem!! Found ourselves here when another restaurant in the area had a long wait and what a wonderful find this was! A little off the beaten path, but worth it for the phenomenal food. There wasn’t a single entree at our table of 10 that didn’t look scrumptious. If you like good food and good service, this is the spot for you!

Google
Amazing spot with great food and great staff. Good choice if you’ve got a vegetarian in the family and awesome for meat lovers too! We sat outside on a beautiful spring day. We will definitely be back when we’re in the DCL area!

Google
This place is my go-to after a Swallow Falls hike. It's got a comfortable vibe and the food is good, when it's good. Even though I am giving them five stars across the board for all the great times I've had here, they aren't consistently five star. The menu changes fairly often; the number and quality of pecatarian and vegetarian dishes in particular changes a lot. You can't go wrong with the cauliflower wings if you're in one of those camps. Service is variable too. But that's life, right? Sometimes it's great. Sometimes not so much. Hope for a great experience here. Sometimes you'll get one.

Yelp
Loved this place. We were at the lake for a couple days midweek and everyone was tired of camping. I didn't want a main stream restaurant and found this gem right off the path. My mom couldn't stop talking about how adorable the place was and the salt/pepper collection but I liked the food and my wife liked their smoked margarita. The kiddos enjoyed the tendys and all was right with the world. I really enjoyed this place and hope you do too.

Yelp
Food and service was fantastic. The beer selection was good too. The atmosphere is pretty cool too. We went in August 2025 I needed a sweatshirt to wear inside, I was cold lol

Yelp
Very cute spot! Came here on a Sunday afternoon where it was getting crowded but not quite full yet. They asked if we could wait 15mins so servers could catch up and of course we were glad to do that. They have a cafe at the front that we were able to wait at and order coffee from. They then came and brought us to our seats. Very nice servers! By the time we left, the place was packed! Food was yummy, a little disappointed because they brought our appetizers and entrees at the same time. So I felt like we were a little rushed to finish the app first since both were some kind of dip that would be best served warm.

Yelp
If I could give this place a million stars I would. Accommodating, friendly, incredible service, delicious food, fun vibes, spacious, and just all around amazing. Menu standouts from our group of 11: Smoky lavender margarita Truffle fries Steak flatbread on naan Exceptional all around. A hidden, unexpected gem in Deep Creek. Wish the trip was longer as karaoke night would be PERFECT. 100/10

Yelp
The burger here(Moonshadow Burger) is a not too much over the top burger. Grass-fed beef and quality ingredients. Straight to the good stuff. Decent service, have been to bar and tables. Both good.

Yelp
It's pretty unfortunate that I have to give MoonShadow a less than favorable review. Truthfully, the only thing that saved any amount of this experience is that the appetizers and drinks were decent (but expectations dwindled fast in the approx. 1hr 30min that my party of six spent dining here. We had to wait about 20 minutes before being seated, despite the resturant being nearly empty when we arrived (this may be due to short staffing). It took us about another 30 minutes before we had recieved our drinks (there was a line of people at the bar waiting essentially the whole time we were there). Eventually, we got our appetizers which were truffle fries, a pound of wings, and a poorly concieved crab dip. Everything tatsed great, like I said, but the crab dip was thoughtless. There was nothing to actually dip in the dip, so we just sort of ripped it apart. All of this was made worse by the fact that we did not get any plates to eat with. Our server brought some, all of which were dirty, came back maybe 15 minutes later with more dirty plates, and then seemingly gave up. Entrées also unfortunately left a lot to be desired as well. You would hope to get full and satisfying portions when spending up to $30+ for an entrée. I got the meatloaf which was doused in BBQ sauce, it was awful. To say the least, we didn't get dessert. All in all, a pretty abysmal time spent here that we'll never get back. Dirty plates, dirty silverware, small paper napkins paired with disappointing $30 entrées, unfortunately poor serivce (seemingly due to understaffing by management). Go somewhere else.

Yelp
So very excited to try new menu and it was clear that the restaurant and crew are still working through its changes. We made reservations for 6, and were seated right on time. We ordered the Buffalo Chix dip with fresh veggies, not a lot of flavor and the Jalapeño poppers with Brie and prosciutto was needing some more flavor. Main course is where issues started to show up. Food arrived and I was still waiting for my silverware, which per another waiter the restaurant ran out of silverware, as we needed to go up to the hostess and request as our server did not comeback to check on our dinner. So my dinner which was cold not warm, obliviously sitting on a counter waiting to be brought out. The entrees we ordered were a bit off, my plate was cold and the mashed potatoes were hard, needed seasoning big time. Oat coated Chicken was dry and need more sauce. We were eating a specific dietary avoiding dairy etc and requested seasonal vegetables instead of other sides, so raw veggies tossed onto a side plate were brought to the table rather than cooked seasonal vegetables per the menu. Overall, our server was not paying attention to our requests and the kitchen did not deliver. Our first visit was when the restaurant was not very busy and the service and food were outstanding. Today, if I went for the first time, I would not return. Overall, meh!

Yelp
Perhaps it is because I have standards of places from metropolitan areas, but this place did not live up to the other reviews for me. First, we chose to eat outside. It's a nice spot. Spacious. Inside seemed more cramped and sometimes they have live music, which could be a bit too loud. The tables were not wiped. There was a strong layer of pollen (green). We wiped it ourselves. Second, the drinks were just okay. I think it was overpriced and was not worth the price. The food took almost an hour to arrive. We guessed that we came here off season and they do not have the staff manpower to handle large groups of people. So we waited a bit of time for food. Third, the food was a huge disappointment because all of us experienced the same thing. They must have forgot to season their food with salt and pepper. It was pretty tasteless. My sandwich was the vegan choice and the sauce was only mustard. Not only that, the mustard was placed on on the edge of the sandwich like they missed the center and I had to smear it back into the sandwich. The fries definitely forgot salt and seemed over fried. After we ate and paid, we left and just felt unsatisfied. The ambiance seemed cool. The place does seem to get a good bit of traffic. But, for me, it does not seem justified.

Yelp
I'm sorry to say that our experience at Moonshadow was not very good at all. The crab dip tasted overwhelmingly creamy, but there was barely any crab or flavor to be found. My step-son and I ordered the steaks, and they were so tough it felt like we were chewing on leather! To be fair, I specifically asked for no blood, but I didn't expect it to be cooked to a solid hockey puck. It was extremely well done. One of my other children ordered a salad that consisted mostly of lettuce with just a few blackberries thrown in--talk about underwhelming! Another child tried the Oyster Mushroom Risotto, which she described as awful. Three others ordered duck wings and burgers, and they weren't impressed either. My partner marginally liked his pork chop, but that's not saying much given the overall experience. The bill for the eight of us came to $370 (including tip), and honestly, I would have preferred $300 worth of pizzas instead. I was really hoping for a great meal, but Moonshadow just didn't deliver.

Yelp
Every time we visit Deep Creek, we must stop at MoonShadow. The food is so unique and delicious. Don't skip the appetizers and burgers. They are some of the best. The wait staff is polite and the beverages are perfect. Can't wait to visit again soon!

Yelp
Here for lunch with a friend. Funky environment but good food. Has a nice outside area to eat so enjoying the good weather.

Yelp
We had the Bahn Mi and the Steak & Brie "sammies" - they were excellent; tasty, fun to look at and eat; scrumptious. Fries were real potatoes. Highly recommend you give MoonShadow a try!

Alyssa B.

Yelp
The food was so unique and delicious. The servers were present and gracious hosts while the ambiance was relaxing and enjoyable.

Yelp
I had a very good visit here last year in September, but I was extremely disappointed today. Had planned to have lunch today, but bailed out after only 1/2 a beer due to ridiculously inattentive service. First step in the wrong direction was when I walked in the door & the girl who was supposed to be the hostess couldn't even be bothered to look up or greet me. I muttered "I'm just going to sit at the bar" which prompted her to say "the bartender will be right with you". She wasn't. She wasn't even behind the bar. No greeting, but eventually in chatting with the girl at the end of the bar on a laptop, who was either a friend of hers or an off duty employee, she said something about water. I couldn't tell if the question was directed at me or the girl on the laptop. I didn't really even answer, but she brought a water & a menu but didn't inquire if I wanted a drink. After 5+ minutes passed I considered just leaving & definitely should have. She & another employee we're clearly much more interested in lap top girl than the other bar customers. She finally asked " do you want anything besides water?" What?? No, I came here simply for the glass of water. Geez (insert eye roll)!! I ordered a beer. But before pouring it, she did a few more things & more chit chatting with laptop girl . After bringing my beer she asked if I wanted food, which although it was my main plan I declined & went elsewhere. If this had been my first visit I'd never return. The vibe from the young staff was clearly that they all preferred to not be working & the interest in laptop girl superseded everyone else at the bar. Considering the Deep Creek Wine Fest was going in it was a good time to make a good impression on new customers, too bad. This was my 3rd visit in 5 years & definitely my worst. Not sure if I'll stop in next time.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful food but horrible server. I'm a huge foodie and regularly go out to eat, but this was hands down one of the WORST experiences I've ever had with a server. We were out to celebrate a big change in my life and while the food and drinks were superb, the server tainted the atmosphere and experience. Best hostess ever, super sweet! Worst server I've probably ever experienced. She repeatedly told us to "hold on" while she was typing in our order, mind you we were in NO rush, so to hear that was quite alarming. She never looked us in the eyes while taking our order and acted like we were an inconvenience when the restaurant was not busy at all. I've honestly never been treated this way in a restaurant environment and was highly disappointed simply because of her. When ordering, I sometimes like to ask for their opinion, I ordered a Bloody Mary and was given the option of mild or spicy, I asked how spicy is "spicy" and was returned with "it's either mild or spicy" and was taken aback by that response, especially with the tone it was presented in. Food-phenomenal. Timing-outstanding. Server-horrible. We tipped well, which I'm big on, simply for the other staff interactions we had and food but I HIGHLY suggest this restaurant consider looking for another server bc it ruined our experience when the food, hostess, atmosphere, and other staff were phenomenal. Sad to write this review.

Yelp
I was so impressed that this is the only place I've ever stopped mid-meal to start writing a Yelp review! Their phone line was busy so we ordered online for curbside pickup, which was super easy to add items to cart and pay with Apple Pay. Order online and keep their lines clear! We ordered two entrees: a filet mignon with jam sauce and Brussels sprouts and home fries; and Jamaican jerk chicken breast on a bed of rice, mango chunks, and cauliflower. We are somewhat picky and found that both entrees tasted so so so incredible! Fresh, flavorful, juicy, perfectly made! The curbside experience was super fast and efficient. Signage was clear. Parking was ample. Dialed the number on the sign and someone picked up and dropped off our food within a minute. He was also really friendly! Wonderful first-time experience! We will be back and definitely encourage our Airbnb guests to visit as well!

Yelp
4 of us went in for a cocktail and a snack, upon ordering our drinks we were told the Tequila we ordered was out, so we changed our order, then we were informed that Tequila was out as well. The only Tequila they had in stock was their "top shelf". When we got our bill we were charged a $10/drink upcharge for the Tequila because the bar manager wasn't there so they didn't know how much to charge us. My husband and I paid $39 for two drinks, looking up the Tequila it is $59/bottle in a liquor store. So I guess Moonshadow you are welcome, we almost paid for your whole bottle!!! I have worked in the industry for 25 years and this is not how you do business!! To say I was disappointed and irritated is an understatement, we will not be back!!

Yelp
Enjoyed a leisurely lunch today at this locally owned restaurant. Chosen I'm part by the well marked and vast GF options available. Great little patio. Excellent service. Delicious food. Loved the Cauliflower"wings". Nice local spot in DCL.

Christie F.

Yelp
Amazing fried olives! Chicken wings were very good. Great burger, juicy and cooked to order. Sweet attentive server.

Yelp
This was a great place for brunch on a Sunday. They suggest reservations, so we called ahead. They are doing a good job with pandemic precautions. Our server was Ava, and she was great. I had a veggie omelet, and my friend had eggs Benedict with corned beef (a new variation to me). Their coffee is excellent. I look forward to returning, especially when the start outdoor dining again. They have a nice patio area out back.

Yelp
We loved this place. We had the cauliflower wings and the Moonshadow burger. Both were amazing! Both burgers were prepared exactly to our liking and were so juicy. The bacon jam with onions were so full of flavor. And the fries! Wow! So good!! The service was great as well. And the menu was amazing! We will be back to try something else.

Julie S.

Yelp
Expensive meal of almost no food! One of us ordered a salad that was supposed to come with peaches. It came with nothing more than a few leaves of bib lettuce, a few cherry tomatoes, some garlic and a Big chunk of fried cheese (didn't even come close to filling the container). Almost no food! I ordered avocado toast with two eggs. I got nothing but some barely toasted avocado toast and no eggs. And it took 35 minutes! We got the food to go so couldn't get a correction on our order. Total rip off!

Yelp
Love restaurants that try hard, are creative, and give you a good experience. MoonShadow succeeds on food and service with unique food choices (wish I could Have tried the black bean burger) Everyone mentioned the cauliflower wings which were just high quality cauliflower with buffalo sauce. Caesar salad was excellent, artichoke hearts baked and breaded, and the tuna tataki were all excellent. This is a place worth driving too!

Yelp
Awesome local place! We came here after skiing at Wisp. They have great craft beers and a diverse menu too, lots of healthy options or not too if that's what your in the mood for. We came on a Saturday night and got to enjoy live music too! It's family friendly and a great place for a younger crowd too! We had the short rib cheese fries, shrimp and cauliflower grits, vegetable curry and pork loin. Will definitely be back here!

Kaitlyn S.

Yelp
After a 30 minute wait to be seated( party of 4), we waited 40 minutes for our food. Appetizers and entrees came together, only after we asked for them. All four dishes were cold, and had obviously been left for some time. The waitress most definitely forgot to bring our food and didn't apologize. The manager was understanding and apologized. Terrible service from our waitress. Would never try again, and we frequent Deep Creek often. Terrible to say that because the menu sounded great.
google avatar

Lurine J.

Yelp
This place was an unexpected awesome dinner! My family and I landed on their wings we did half garlic half buffalo and they were probably some of the best wings I've ever had before. Our waitress was very nice and extremely patient with us as we had multiple questions about the menu. I laid it on the rosemary chicken with broccolini and I switched out the cheesy grits for pickled cabbage of some sort all of which was very delicious. I really like the set up of this restaurant it's a hodgepodge of a bunch of different cool looking things in fact even the saucer place are brought to the table didn't match for me and my family we thought this was pretty cool. And tonight was Charles dickens theme so all of the wait staff was dressed up according to that genre pretty cool. I'm glad we landed on this place and got a chance to eat. Real. Food. Will definitely be back when I'm in this area again

Yelp
Maybe we came when the worst chef was making food. We came in right after the 10am opening for brunch. It was not busy so we got a table right away. The waitress was busy so the hostess brought some water and let me know my server was on her way. The service is why I am leaving 1 star. She was friendly and accommodated my request to take our food to go since my husband was not feeling so great. I waited almost 50min for the worst food I have been served in a very long time. Always wanted to try a Mexican hot chocolate. If it is supposed to have chunks of stuff in it I will never get it again. Plenty of liquor for sure but the texture was ewwwwww...yes texture of my drink! Shrimp & grits: My shrimp was over cook and the dish had zero flavor. Not one grain of salt or pepper or any seasoning. It was awful and the grits were runny with almost no cheese. Eggs Benedict was so so so sad. Where was the hollandaise sauce???? That is what makes the dish!! There was none anywhere to be found. WTF? The potatoes were well done with no seasoning! So disappointing. Wasted $60 on brunch food that mostly went into the trash.

Kayla W.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Bartender was very attentive. Quaint atmosphere. There are Pennie's in the floor in the bathroom that were neat.

Alwx E.

Yelp
My bartender was very inattentive she was more focused on other bar guests which I assume were regulars. It wasn't too busy while I was there my food came out cold and had the wrong toppings on my burger. You can get better service and food elsewhere in town.

Laura S.

Yelp
We waited for 30 mins for a table outside when there were multiple open tables. Then we waited 40 mins to get our appetizers. They only arrived after we asked for them. Our entrees then arrived immediately after. All four entrees were cold and presented poorly. The waitress did not apologize or make it right. The manager was super apologetic and comped the meal which was greatly appreciated. Very poor experience. Disappointing as the menu looked great. The salt shakers were rusty and the salt was totally clumped in a solid rock. Gross!
google avatar

Jay R.

Yelp
Honestly this started out our 3rd choice for the evenng but being a Monday our other ones were closed. So glad they were, too! Low key, casually appointed with eclectic table and dinette sets, comfortably spaced. Considering they were understaffed the service was surprising prompt , very helpful and friendly. The Buffalo cauliflower is a MUST!! Perfectly cooked to be tender and browned just right. Not too hot but flavorful. Yummy! Good selection of draft beers -the Venom IpA was right on. We shared a Gasto burger with Tomato jam and grilled onions and sharp cheddar cooked perfectly and the buns were fresh. Reasonably priced as well. Would definitely return!
google avatar

Zina S.

Yelp
Nice funky vibe in this place. Really love the decor. Live music is excellent. Selection of beer is very good as well. We have now been here three times and the food is less than spectacular. Often comes out cold. Service is also less than enthusiastic which makes us revisit why we want to keep going back.
google avatar

Emma G.

Yelp
Cool vibe and relaxing music. Menu is amazing, staff was super friendly!! Draft beer list was small, but very good

Stephen M.

Yelp
Excellent food and excellent service. We had lunch there at the bar. We were treated very well and the food was top-notch!

Paul M.

Yelp
Three of 7 orders were wrong. Salads arrived without chicken. When chicken arrived 10 minutes later, no apologies were given. One item was never brought to the table. Sadly service here has been going downhill last two visits.
google avatar

Zoee K.

Yelp
The spinach and Gouda dip was good and the pork chop. But everything else was meh. Salmon just came on white rice, chicken sandwich was a total joke (one chicken tender? Come on), and the buffalo cauliflower was just cauliflower with sauce on it? Smoky margarita was yummy though.
google avatar

Maura W.

Yelp
Avoid brunch! Entire table of 5 had cold meals for brunch on Sunday. Not only did the food not come out together, but the omelets were cold and entirely too small, and the salmon Benedict was freezing cold as well. Side order of bacon looked like it was half eaten before placed on plate. Benedict had watery and tasteless (most probably from a packet) hollandaise on top of a hard-as-rock English muffin with about a tablespoon of egg on each piece. We did not complain as the waitress never came back again to check on the food quality after they messed up the toast order, and an email to the management was not responded to as yet ( 3 days later). I would avoid brunch here if this is any indication. Total yuck!
google avatar

Yelp
What a great place! Thanks Yelpers for your reviews. Awesome menu (see photos) and awesome location... country and quiet with outdoor seating in the back that is tranquil and peaceful. Great service and just great quality food. The chicken pad Thai, moonshadow burger were fabulous but the appetizer crab dip was fantastic! Enjoy this place!!

Yelp
This place was a great find. We stayed at the cabins nearby. The food proportions were huge and very flavorful! Cheyenne was out waitress. She was very welcoming and kind. I would recommend sitting outside when it is warm. The weather was perfect and we were there during the evening. We ordered the wonton salad and steak and brie wrapped in pita bread. The only thing is that the fence fries weren't that great. Other than the fries, the rest of the food was pretty good. Make sure you come hungry or be sure to take your leftovers home!
google avatar

Danni K.

Yelp
Food was delicious and the staff were awesome! The vibe of the place was chill on a Thursday, not too crowded, and eclectic decor. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Yelp
I came here twice while in the area June 4 and 5th. The first time we came and had the kale chips, naked wings and side salad. The wings came out with seasoning and being low salt they were happy to remake them for me. It was much appreciated. We sat outside and enjoyed the pretty flowers and nice weather. The second time we came we came as a large group after prepping for a bridal shower. The waitress seated us inside and was very attentive. I had the burger plain with onion and tomato. It was delicious. The entire group is local but I still really enjoyed it from out of town. The bathroom has a cool penny floor and cool signs. I will go back next time in the area.
google avatar

Scott W.

Yelp
Well this is funny: I said never again but forgot about I already went here. So a party of 8 we order and someone orders a veggie plate for $14. It comes and wow no words. It looked like you ate your dinner and this was left over. So I post a pic say wow 14 bucks and this. Then later I see my old review and everyone is mad that I took them here. Ha. Well in short I tried again and had a bad result again. Who goes here ?
google avatar

Patty A.

Yelp
Almost gave it 2 stars due to the quality of the food. My bacon, on the BLT, was severely undercooked, the bun on the chicken sandwich was doughy and the chicken was very bland for being "jerk" seasoned. The meatloaf was tasty - you can see the peas are frozen. The bacon jam and fries were the best things we had. The venue is a unique; with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. They could use some background music outside though....Lastly, we took a chance on walking-in since they were booked with reservations all weekend.
google avatar

Kathy W.

Yelp
We have gone here numerous times. We love the atmosphere but can't recommend it because the service is so slow and drinks are mediocre . The food can be very nice but tonight my veggie burger and fries came out cold and we had waited for at least 45 minutes . Saw some people leave who couldn't get service. This place could be a real gem if they can figure out their issues. I would never take friends here because it isn't consistent and I'd hate for them to have a bad experience. So sad really....it really is a cool place to spend some time but not hours!
google avatar

Scott W.

Yelp
Food was really tasty. We got the filet medallions, beefaloaf, moonshadow burger, reuben, prosciutto wrapped jalapeños, and crab dip. Everything was excellent. The only downside was it took almost an hour to get our entrees.

Yelp
So many things run through me after eating here and experiencing things. Overall things were good but there were a lot of variables that pushed and pulled at the stars so I'll try and write my way through this [Location: This was a nice place off the beaten path right near the lake. Parking lot was somewhat small, that or they were busy. The building is separated into two sections: bar open area, and a regular restaurant. The entry is in the former so it was kind of weird to ask for the other side. [Food: The food selection was good- several appetizers, salads, entrees, and sandwiches. Also was a decent selection of desserts from chocolate mousse (haven't had since France), cheesecake, etc. Time was tight so we had to leave before dessert. [Service: Things were rocky in this department. Upon entry a man who posed as a host who pressured us into getting a table in the bar area. S we waited he mentioned there was live music and $5 cover per person. Then I asked about the other section of the restaurant- to which he provided no guidance. To make matters worse- after we were seated he walked around the place like a hawk and "double-checked" if we were paying cash or adding it to our tab. What a nightmare. Making customers feel like they're being held for money? Terrible business. Our waitress was a nice girl/ but a terrible waitress. We easily could've had time for dessert but she rarely checked on us and when she did it was a "you guys still doing ok?" Had to ask for bill- she brought the dessert menu. ............. Like I said nice girl- probably were understaffed and the bar area is second fiddle? [Our experience: we ordered a couple of flavored iced teas and leafed over the menu. We decided on the crab avocado bruschetta. Which--- not sure. It was good, but the balsamic was on the plate not the food. Also the avocado was way too big. Would've been nice to been cut twice more. Flavor was good. I ordered the beefaloaf. Meatloaf with a tangy sauce on top of mashed potatoes and peas. Very very good. Haven't had meatloaf in SHEWWWWWWWWWWW so this was good. Not usually into bbq on meatloaf but this was good.

Yelp
Poor service... I was hopeful about this restaurant, but it did not pan out for us. We were there between lunch and dinner, so there were only two other tables of customers in the restaurant. I ordered cauliflower wings for my meal. The server brought out everyone's else's meals, except mine. She didn't say mine was coming, but we assumed that it was. About five minutes later, she brought my meal out. There were ice cold, not even warm. We waited for her to check on us, but finally, my husband took the plate back up to the bar and asked for them to be reheated. She brought them out, and they were the same temperature. I just decided to get through the meal. Part way through the main meal, my husband told the server he didn't want the soup he ordered with the appetizer anymore. She didn't apologize, she just said "word". When it was time for the check, my husband was heading to the restroom, but put his card down and told me to wait for him to add the tip. I am known for tipping on service, he is known for tipping an exorbitant amount regardless of service. The server came, ran the card, and held out her device for me to add the tip. I asked her to wait for him to add the tip and sign when he came back She said "fine, I guess I can just stand right here until he comes back" and crossed her arms, standing right next to me, just staring at me. Bizarre. I laughed and added 20% to make her go away. I was tempted to not tip at all after that, but it was clear she needed it more than me. I was happy that she at least didn't get over-tipped by my husband. The inside was very nice, the food in general was average bar food at best.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday night - 3 people without a reservation. We arrived about 5:15pm and was told it was "45 - 60 minute" wait. No problem, we sat at the bar, ordered drinks and appetizers. After almost an hour, checked again with hostess and told that it might still be an hour (!) All this time there were several tables that had been empty since we arrived. We ordered 2 beers and a glass of wine at the bar and, one friend, picked up that tab that came to $26. After two appetizers and another round of drinks, we decided not to stay for dinner after all so asked for check. Looking at my check, I realized I was charged $12 for a $10 glass of wine and asked for it to be corrected. On the way home, we figured out that on the first round, my $10 glass of wine was charged at $14! Whether this was truly a mistake or an opportunity to "pad" the bill I can't say but the fact that it happened twice makes me wonder. While the food has always been good here, the hostesses do not know how to seat properly and the bartender needs to charge for drinks correctly. There never seems to be a manager or owner present which may be the problem. In any case, I've bartended and managed restaurants in the past and Moonshadow is losing revenue due to not being able to efficiently turn tables. But, I don't think anyone really cares. Don't know if we will return - we are locals, by the way.

Yelp
Disappointed, tried 2 times during the week on this trip to deep creek and restaurant listed as opened online and at the door. But both times the restaurant never opened. If it's closed permanently please list it.
