The 22 Best Bars In Paris

"The city’s answer to the Prohibition-style speakeasy is Moonshiner. At this hidden spot in the 11th (push the metal door of the walk-in fridge in the back of pizzeria Da Vito), there’s 1920s jazz playing, Belle Epoque wallpaper, and exposed brick. Snag a table with the leather booths or sit at the bar. The drink list is heavy on whisky cocktails, and very fancy old whiskies you can order neat. Continuing with the times, there’s even an indoor smoking room, where you can have a cigar alongside other tourists and locals who love whisky, too. Just heads up, it gets standing-room-only crowded on weekend evenings. " - tanisha townsend

The 24 Best Bars in Paris

"Your first thought will be, "Am I in the right place?" and "Can I order a slice or do I have to get a whole pie?" The bar's located behind an operating small pizza parlor. The dark and moody Moonshiner is all speakeasy, complete with Art Deco furnishings like etched mirrors and old record players. The place skews younger (20s and 30s), a mix of local Parisians, expats and tourists. Most are serious about their booze though. The menu features a few classic cocktails, like an Old Fashioned, but the majority of the suggestions come with fun names, featuring a mix of interesting syrups and liqueurs; on a recent visit, we saw names like "Money Time" and "Back to Basil." - Sara Lieberman

Google
One of the best cocktail bar in Paris hidden behind their pizza place. The team is really welcoming, their creations are on point and the vibe is perfect. Must go while in Paris.

Google
Very cool place, food is amazing, fresh and super tasty, drinks are exceptional. We had tried more then a half of the cocktails menu and there are masterpieces. highly recommended

Google
This place is awesome! The hideout location, which can be seen as a cheap gimmick in other places, works really well here, with the speakeasy vibe, adding to the ambiance. The drinks were perfect. We visited good cocktail bars around the world, and this one definitely worth a visit.

Google
The drinks were not the most intricate but the atmosphere and the service was excellent. I do recommend checking it out as a very cool speakeasy bu if you’re looking for high quality drinks I would suggest sticking to a professional/regular bar

Google
My experience at Moonshiner was fantastic! I tried their best pizza, and it truly lived up to the hype—perfectly crispy crust, fresh toppings, and a delicious sauce that tied it all together. I also ordered the Cocktail Maison, which was a delightful blend of flavors and beautifully presented. The atmosphere of the bar is cozy and laid-back, making it a perfect spot for a casual night out. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. I can't wait to come back for more!

Google
My great discovery this time in Paris. This speak easy bar and Pizzeria. The bar is beautiful done, with three great bartenders behind the bar, drinks are another level from the taste to the presentation. A little smoking room that serves the purpose in the winter. Service is great. Outside the pizzeria is great, beautiful and before or after the bar. Highly highly recommended

Google
One of the first to embrace the Parisian speakeasy wave in the 2010's, this dim lit, too-cool-for-you cocktail bar is still kicking. Excellent seasonal drinks.

Google
Hidden gem in the back of a pizzeria. Bartenders are very friendly. Explained the drinks very well, and took the time to make us feel welcomed. Amazing experience, atmosphere, service and drinks. Definitely a top 10 bar in Paris.

Yelp
Cool speakeasy behind the freezer door of a pizza place. Reasonably priced cocktails and solid service. Dark and moody place, like most speakeasies. No smoking, which was great. Very small with minimal seating. Didn't appear to be a dress code either, which is good since we looked like tacky Americans after the Olympic Games we saw.

Pauline J.

Yelp
Lovely speakeasy in the heart of Paris. We always receive great service. The staff is very professional and the drinks are stiff! Romantic and intimate vibes.

Al B.

Yelp
Had a great night with Nico and other bar tender. Learned a lot about the drinking making process. We really enjoyed our drinks. The drink menu is featured regions of France. They also will make other drinks. Wonderful experience. We wished we could have had a chance to go back before we left. Cute spot. Good service.

Yelp
Moonshiner is one of the most welcoming and coolest bars I've been in. It stays true to the essence of a speakeasy cocktail lounge. What many people call "speakeasy bars," are just period piece dark bars, with lots of brass and brick. An authentic speakeasy bar has its vestiges in the prohibition era, when alcohol was illegal. Thus speakeasy's, think about the name, were disguised behind legitimate venues and someone inside slid a latch to peer at you, and you had to "speak easy" to be allowed in. Moonshiner is hidden at the rear of a pizza joint, and patrons enter through a large refrigerator door. Bravo! The decor is historically accurate, and that was a revelation. Moonshiner's design was definitively 1920s and 1930s. We nestled into two seats at the bar, and the three bartenders, two male and one female, could not have been friendlier on this hot May, 18th 2022. Moonshiner is air-conditioned, and that nod to modernity felt incredible on a hot and humid Wednesday night. All three barkeeps engaged with us with great humor and warmth. Listen, I'm an old fart, speak French terribly, and most young, good looking French people may see me as a lizard. Not at Moonshiner. They treated us with no judgment, and the gorgeous young woman even acted goofy to make us laugh. That deserves another Bravo! Drinks were wonderfully made and strong. We spent a fabulous two hours at Moonshiner and hope to return often.

Yelp
I've always wanted to visit an after-hours/speakeasy and this gem did not disappoint. We would for sure have never found it without Yelp. My work colleague and I were looking for a cool cocktail bar for a nightcap after a super long workday of meetings and this place appeared on Yelp so we decided to check it out. We wandered over to the address and were surprised to see just an apartment door. We asked the bouncer at the club across the street but he had no clue what we were talking about. Disheartened, we started to walk away when I decided to Google the name of the club and discovered that it was inside a pizza place! Excitedly we rushed back to the area and walked into the 'za joint only to see large wooden doors at the back. We walked in and were instantly transported back in time. So so cool! Drink list was extensive and had many mixes I had never heard of before. Ended up with a bourbon based cocktail and it was amazing. Such a fun place to stumble upon! Highly recommend you check it out!

Yelp
Popular, but also intimate, this speakeasy is located past the storage cellar of a small, Italian restaurant near the Bastille. The place is small (as it goes for many speakeasies), but cozy. Compared with the other speakeasies I'd gone to in Paris, Moonshiner had slightly-cheaper cocktails. I found the one I got to taste rather mediocre, but having paid only 10 euros for it, I got what I paid for. Service was a bit standoffish, although one of the bartenders was friendly and recommended me other speakeasies to try out in Paris. Moonshiner isn't my favorite speakeasy, but still one to check out if in town.

Yelp
TL;DR A well hidden speakeasy with tasty, affordable drinks. While trying to decide where to grab a drink before our dinner plans, I stumbled across Moonshiner. It checked all the boxes, namely that it was open at 6pm. After walking over, we stumbled into a seemingly empty pizzeria and despite my wife's confused objections, I made a bee line to their cold storage door. After walking into what seemed to be a tiny storage space with spake kegs and brooms, I opened a second door and emerged into a dimly lit 1920s era speakeasy. We were warmly greeted at the bar and quickly settled into a pair of leather wrapped chairs straddling a small table in the back. Soaking in the smooth jazz playing, we smiled as we looked over the menu and made our selections. After a few rounds, we closed our tab and exited the way we came, his time only to find a packed restaurant. Between the time we arrived and the time we left, the pizzeria had opened and was packed to the gills with people eating and strangely staring us trying to comprehend why we were emerging from the restaurants fridge. Definitely worth it!

Yelp
Pizza was AMAZING!! Speakeasy reveal was meh. Drinks were ok. Atmosphere was nice.

Yelp
Truly a hidden treasure. This little cocktail lounge created the BEST cocktail I have ever had in my life. Seriously, I am not exaggerating when I say I still think about that cocktail months after having it... I just wish I could remember the name (it was a pink drink)!! Honestly though, it doesn't even matter because I even thought my husband's drink was incredible and I don't like bourbon. The drinks are extremely pricey; around €15-20 each. It was a bit of a shock, but let me tell you it is worth the one time splurge. I wish I could have had 2 or 3 of these, but we had a whole vacation ahead of us still, so we didn't want to break the bank. Not only are the drinks expertly crafted, but the bartenders were so kind and helpful, especially with my concerns about a language barrier. Our bartender switched seamlessly from French to English and then to Italian for another guest! Really made the experience seem so easy and relaxed. They took their time making each drink with perfect care. I loved watching them work their magic! The atmosphere is moody and intimate. Limited seating, but it didn't feel crowded. I appreciated that they had a smoking room apart from the main lounge area. Oh, mystery pink cocktail... You have my heart.

Yelp
I wasn't impressed. Super rushed, yet again I've encountered another Dead Rabbit: rushed and not much to the imagination... I don't remember the cocktail I had either... It's cool to get to and the place is setup like your typical speakeasy: dark, yet intriguing. The staff was amazing. Funny & interactive. I'd go back for the staff, not the cocktails.
google avatar

Yelp
i came here by myself and had one cocktail from the menu (it was lovely) and paid for it, 14€. it was great! because my french is not great, then the bartenders told each other i was american and when i'd asked for if they had a recommendation for another tequila based cocktail, they said oh they'd make me something i'd like. they threw together a half a drink mostly of vermouth and some tequila. it was not good; to be polite, i drank it. when i left they charged me 26€ for the last drink (unaware that i understood all of the rude things they were saying along the way).
google avatar

Andres G.

Yelp
Cocktails were decent, but the bartender was SO obnoxious. The music was annoying, think 1920's music, but the bad kind. The whole speakeasy thing was overdone, We've seen this done before and done WAY better, this place was really overrated. Don't waste your time here.
google avatar

Cherloe M.

Yelp
This speakeasy is tucked away behind a pizzeria. The ambience is dark and chilled, such a great little hideaway. The mixologists were friendly and spoke English which really helped with my terrible french (hey I try!). I didn't even look at the menu and the mixologist asked me what type of drinks I like and he made one for me. Then I tried a cacao butter infused alcohol and again my mixologist made one especially for me with grated chocolate and chilli on top. Of which I got two. He has ruined me as I will not be able to get anywhere else. Also I have never seen beetroot infused whisky and lapshong tea cocktails anywhere else .... so a very specialized bar indeed. If in Paris DO NOT miss this bar!
google avatar

Toni J.

Yelp
The speakeasy is actually in he pizza shop but behind what looks to be the refrigerator door. The bartenders were very knowledgeable and creative. I asked for something different from what was on the menu and the bartender asked me a few questions and gave me the best drink of my life (of which I had 3 of :-).

Yelp
One of my favorite places in Paris. Hidden through the back doors of a rusty pizza joint (that sells delightfully good pizza at a cheap price), this place serves craft cocktails galore with knowledgeable bartenders that will serve you up a refreshing, on trend drink. Great for socializing, but small. Make sure you get there early to snag an area to sit in!
google avatar

Crisel F.

Yelp
Loved loved the moonshiner, The place is a pizza joint to the public but past the oven doors you are transported to a time of prohibition. The bartenders were complete darlings. Their cigar room was a treat and upon closing time the bartenders joined us for drinks on the house. Anytime im in paris i like to scope new places out. If you find yourself in the neighborhood stop by, you wont regret it.
google avatar

Lara W.

Yelp
This place is fantastic as a late night haunt. Creative cocktails, friendly, efficient bartenders, and a wild, loud vibe as it gets later. There's a tobacco friendly smoking room and the main room is full of cozy leather chairs and booths. The vibe is definitely retro 20s, with art nouveau decor and music. Tucked behind a pizza parlor door, this hidden gem is fantastic for drinks and mingling and the pizza served at its cover business is delicious afterwards.
google avatar

Bill H.

Yelp
This place is awesome. You literally walk in a Liza joint and open a freezer door and enter a cool speak easy. Waiter were really cool and made great drinks. They were all friendly and gave us great advice for cool things to do in Paris.
google avatar

Erin W.

Yelp
What a splendid bar. The theme and decor were on point--one really feels as though they're taken back in time to the roaring 20s. I arrived only a few minutes after opening and there were only 2 seats left at the main bar...so if you have a large group I suggest to get there early. There is an adjacent room where smoking is allowed. Yes, it takes some time to get your drinks, but you're not just ordering a pint. The cocktails at Moonshiner are exquisite and artfully crafted. Definitely the best drinks in Paris, albeit a tad pricey compared to other bars at ~14€ a pop

Yelp
Great American-style hipster speakeasy complete with "secret" entrance. Must visit if you are in the Marais district of Paris.
google avatar

Cj S.

Yelp
A speak easy through the freezer of da Vito's pizza .plus A back smoking room.. nice dark and old time 1920 vibe .cool without being pretentious. Wasn't to crowded when u went but was told is gets very busy on weekends .but definitely a must when in Paris

Yelp
I have now lived in Paris for just over 2 years and walked by this nondescript pizzeria a countless number of times and it finally took a local Parisian to let me in on the secret: This place is a well hidden speakeasy! I might be performing a faux pas by letting everyone in on the secret but isn't that what Yelp is for? Entering this place is an experience: You will definitely feel awkward as you enter the pizzeria while the big hairy and muscular chef is pulling out fresh hot pizza with bubbling cheese out of the oven and you try to casually walk past the server's glaring eyes towards the rear refrigerator door.... Maybe I'm just messing with you and you're only going to find yourself in a cold storage room with hanging meats and a ticked off server... Or you might find yourself in a dark swanky bar with hipster bartenders dressed the part of working in a speakeasy. If you're like me, you probably won't find any of the really expensive cocktails to your liking and stick to the scotch and other liquors. But I guarantee you're going find the whole ambiance very cool and the bartenders warm, helpful, and inviting. Santé!
google avatar

Kelly P.

Yelp
This bar is really cool! It's behind the pizza shop (you have to walk all the way to the back) hidden just like how it would have been in the prohibition. It's low lit with just the bar and candles lit everywhere so it's really laid back with little coaches and tables to sit at. There is a long list of cocktails to choose from, I got the La Wanda and the punch. Both were really delicious and completely worth the price! The La Wanda was nice and fruity and the punch was strong and had a cinnamon aftertaste, it was very nice! It was quite a wait for the drinks but you could tell the bartenders took their time on the drink which I did appreciate so the wait is well worth it since the drinks were quite good. They also have a smoking room for anyone who wants to smoke there. It was a really cool place to hangout with friends and wasn't too loud because it was so small with a great atmosphere. I will definitely come again!

Yelp
Ah moonshiner how I love thee. Seriously, I like you enough to take a trip past the Bastille which is not my favorite part of town (yeah yeah the Marais is over there too, I get it; its not the 6th just sayin'). The quick jaunt up Boulevard Richard Lenoir, was absolutely worth my while in the end because it lead me to your (hidden) doors. Walking into the pizza joint that houses this speakeasy is worth the trip in itself. Turns out the guys who run the bar also run the shop, and they take their dough as seriously as they take their cocktails; everything is local, everything is fresh, and every seat in the place is taken. They must be doing something right, because the place is hopping with locals. I wasn't hungry (...did not run past the piazza for a drink, I DO NOT have a drinking problem), so I made my way up to the fridge doors and let myself into the back. Most speakeasies have a fake door that lets you into a "hidden" room in the back, Moonshiner takes it (an awesome) step further. The door actually lets you into the walk-in fridge for the pizza place, dough, tomatoes, it's all there. As it turns out the walk in was more than just decorative for me; the back bar is hot. Like Africa in the middle of the summer hot - I was sweating horribly; this is not a good look for an American sitting amongst the properly dressed (and not sweating) Parisians*. The bar itself was dimly lit and full of groups enjoying superbly handmade cocktails. We were lucky enough to pull a seat at the bar, where we were greeted by a bartender who spoke English with a perfect New York accent, I felt right at home (he said he had never left France, but had a great teacher haha). I ordered up a perfectly made gin fizz that had a hint of mint and raspberry, this was served to me in a frosted aluminum glass that kept it exceptionally cold in the sweltering heat of the bar. Good stuff. We chatted with our psuedoAmerican bartender for a round or two, hand a laugh at the smoking lounge*, and let the time pass by in a truly unique Parisian bar. This place is absolutely worth checking out, just make sure to bring a few euros (its pricey), and maybe a fan and a towel. ____________________________ *god damn they are some cool people. *god damn do they smoke a lot in Paris
google avatar

Barbara T.

Yelp
My mom and I are visiting from California and was referred here by a friend. The bartenders were incredible and very very nice to us for knowing little to no French! It was one of the bartenders birthdays and they shared champagne with the bar! I've never seen such good service! We will be back before we leave!
google avatar

Cristine M.

Yelp
The atmosphere and vibe was cool. Unfortunately, during my visit it was a very hot day and they were having issues with the AC. Friendly staff, didn't take long to get our drinks and it was conducive to hang and chill with my buddies. As a speakeasy bar, I expected that I needed a password or something to get in... didn't have to do anything at all. But walk in. Overall, I had a good experience.

Christine C.

Yelp
Walk in a quaint pizzeria through back past restaurant fridge and storage room. Finally, enter into a hidden treasure. Great ambiance, jazzy music, charismatic staff, and tasty drinks
google avatar

Craig S.

Yelp
I've been to a fair share of cocktail bars in Paris and they normally all suffer a fatal flaw, they only sell bottled beer (normally at ridiculous pricing) which for a beer drinker keeps me far away. The Moonshiner though has tap beer and it's actually pretty good! About the bar, it's situated in the back of a pizza joint, speakeasy sstyle which is another review in itself but once you get inside it's dimly lit and well laid out with a room for smokers and tables and chairs for those lucky enough to grab one when drinkers cycle out to either the restaurant or other venues. Drinks I cannot speak to because I'm only on the beer. But those who did manage to wait through the queue to get some the bar's creations really seemed to enjoy their drinks, with the only caveat being the excessive wait time. All in all I'd recommend the place as it's tastefully decorated, has friendly wait staff, and is just behind a wonderful pizzeria. Go on, give it a try!
google avatar

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
Pretty cool place. It's a hidden speakeasy, and if it's your first time coming, you might think the person taking u through the hidden doors in the pizza shop and the "fridge" has lost their mind. Lol. Once u enter this speakeasy, you're instantly transported to another era, prohibition in the 20s. The place is dimly lit and intimate, and everything from decoration to music is meant to mimic the mood. You really do feel like you've left Paris and have been transported back to another era. That is the cool part about it here. Awesome cocktail list, but it is pretty pricy, so that's why I would give it 4 stars instead of 5. That being said, this is a place where you come and have a drink or 2 - you wouldn't go crazy and order a ton of drinks unless you got some serious paper to blow. Lol. Also, for me it's more of a novelty place. I've been here once, but am not necessarily itching to go back. I would rather go to a chill dive bar than a fancy cocktail place, but maybe that's just me. Fun place for a drink that's off the beaten path. Check it out.
google avatar

Emily Y.

Yelp
This is one of the coolest bars I've ever been to! It's carefully hidden behind a small pizza joint, so it is kind of hard to find, but once you ask the cashier at the pizza place where Moonshiner is, he'll direct you to a door that looks like a large freezer, and you'll be transported to a world of the 1920's. The dimly lit room was filled with people standing, sitting st the bar and seated on the few couches they had. Their drink menu had a good variety, and is definitely cheaper than other bar menus in Bastille after happy hour. I had the punch which was good and my friend got a bière. It was a really fun experience and I would definitely come back!
google avatar

Hotel V.

Yelp
Are secret speakeasy cocktail bars in Paris played out? Maybe. To get into the bar you walk through the pizzeria then through a large industrial freezer. Nice touch. The cocktails are definitely above average and decently priced for Paris. Gets super crowded so don't go if you need to sit down. For other cancer stick addicts, there is a classy, well ventilated fumoir in there too so you can sip your drink with a fag like you did back in the old days.
google avatar

Jon Y.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! 3 bartenders hustling their butts off whipping up a myriad of delicious and innovative drinks for a pretty packed house on the night we were there. Sneaky location, who doesn't feel a little special in a secret bar? Excellent decor/ambiance. Cool but not over-the-top. Hands down the most fun night out of our five days we spent in Paris.
google avatar

Adrian K.

Yelp
Moonshiner is a pretty cool idea with a just alright execution. The speakeasy style bar isn't much of a secret- one can waltz right up to the "freezer" door and let themselves in, especially since there was a constant flow of people coming in and out. After taking a look at a menu, we encountered a pretty long wait at the bar to order, and then an even longer wait for our drinks. At first I didn't mind, but then after awhile I started to feel really fucking silly just standing there. The drinks were fine... I ordered the "Amy Ginhouse," which I don't think I'd order again. After sipping our first round we unanimously agreed to go somewhere else. I don't think I'd want to come here again but I do think it was cool to go once. In the grand scheme of speakeasy bars this one just didn't do it for me.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
As this is my 100th review, I wanted it to be for a place that offered me something different, and Moonshiner certainly fit that bill. Firstly, it's kind of hidden behind the freezer door of a small pizza shop. So that in itself is "a very good thing" (credit to Martha Stewart). It is going after a speak-easy style bar and it delivers all around. Lighting, decor, music and drinks on offer all scream prohibition era. I was there right when it opened and so had a chance to chat with the bartenders and got some great advice on other similar style bars in Paris. Much appreciated. They clearly love what they do and take the time to make the drinks properly. None of the Tom Cruise Cocktail kind of crap here. Flavours are layered and blended to enhance the whole drink, and not to just fill the glass. Hopefully they get into making their own bitters and tinctures soon, since I think it will add to the overall experience.
google avatar

Edgar B.

Yelp
Designs at the top of my Whiskey Sour was a nice bonus. The mixologists at this bar are skilled and have a solid sense of humor (they'd randomly shush the room just to see if they can) and YUP...we were are all kindergarteners again. ;-)
google avatar

Amber Z.

Yelp
This is a specialty cocktail bar like those in NY or DC. It's actually pretty big for a speakeasy, and they have a back room just for smokers. The cocktails were excellent, and the ambiance was romantic. It was a little too bright and the Frank Sinatra playing was a little too obviously trying for a NY vibe, but overall I really liked this place.

Zach K.

Yelp
Great drinks great staff. Very cool atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great speakeasy/cocktail bar. Had several drinks on and off menu each better than the next
google avatar

Kali D.

Yelp
One of my favs in Paris! My boyfriend walked me in the front door and I was like is this a joke? I don't want pizza.... look no further, well two doors further and you will find all the hype. The staff are by far the friendliest most hip bartenders in town. I loved the ambiance of this cocktail bar, taking you back to the 20's with a glass smoking room. We had three cocktails and they were all on point!!

Celeste G.

Yelp
Rude and tried to rip us off. When the crew of bartenders, Argentinian btw, realized we also spoke Spanish.... the jig was up. He returned the money he tried to rip off us and while that was enough to leave a sour taste in our mouth, the crew of drunk bartenders started spraying water from the bar and got us wet. They apologized but it was enough. I've been to better speakeasies in LA. Don't waste your time. Their old fashioned was made with Evan Williams and at €14 a pop, any person who parties in their younger days would know you can get probably two whole bottles of that stuff for that price.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
Great pizza, but the bartender in the back almost ruined the night with his whisky advice, pain in the ass!
google avatar

Francesca G.

Yelp
Moonshiner is cool, with a New York prohibition era speakeasy kind of vibe. The idea here is similar to Candelaria and other speakeasy bars in Paris- walk through the pizza restaurant, into the freezer to find the bar. It's a really nice space, generally really busy, and with quite a good drinks list. The drinks aren't as consistently amazing as I think they should be for how expensive they are, but what I really appreciate is that they have a punch bowl which is usually really good and not too expensive (in case you're looking to have a few drinks on your night out).
google avatar

Jordan H.

Yelp
Pretty much the best damn old fashioned I have ever had. My wife and I had heard of other great bars around us but found ourselves back here three nights in a row. I speak little to no french, my wife speaks almost fluently, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Small place with limited seating and space. We had the best luck at securing a spot the earlier we went. Didn't mind mingling with the other patrons though when we didn't have a place to set our drinks down because the place just feels lively and fun. Walk through the freezer door and check out this cool spot!

JC G.

Yelp
Moonshiner (4.5/5) - great cocktails all around 13 euro range. Enjoyed both whiskey mixes I had and wife enjoyed her vodka mix. No sign on outside of bar (it is a speakeasy...), but guy working the small Italian shop (ppl say pizza shop but I didn't think it was..) pointed us to fridge looking doors. Place was crowded on a Tuesday night so likely always going. They have 5 euro beers too if not into the cocktail noise.

Yelp
Was there last night and had a great time with my wife. The cocktail list is very well thought out. The bartenders are highly trained and give great importance to the customer service they provide.

Yelp
Moonshiners is one the the coolest bars I have been to in Paris. The staff was very helpful and eager to help. The ambience and decor were on point. Really cool hip vibe. Good music. Perfect after dinner spot. What a cool bar.

Yelp
Although I don't believe there was ever a time that Speakeasy's were required in Paris, this is an absolute gem. The staff/mixologists were very inviting. Pedro was our mixologists and made the effort to get to know us and memorize all the names of our party. He was very personable, it was so inviting. We absolutely loved our time here and hope to return soon. The pizza "front" was very good as well and was perfect to fill our stomachs after our drinks. If you are visiting Paris and want a place to visit for some drinks with friends, this is an absolute must!!! Thank you for the great time Pedro! We will return.

Yelp
So this place is a speakeasy bar situated in the Bastille section of Paris. To enter you need to walk through the pizzeria (and it was actually a very busy pizzeria) through a door that looks like a freezer/walk-in fridge...once through the door you navigate about 10 feet through a back room/hallway which leads you through the door to a small old school bar. This is a serious whiskey bar so it's imperative that you order something with whiskey or the bartenders are likely to berate you...obviously I didn't that's how I know. While I am a big fan of speakeasy bars and finding new hidden gems all over the world this one just didn't really live up to the hype. Entrance was neat but afterwards it's just a small dark bar that was way too hot (temperature wise). Bar was extremely small. So if the idea of standing shoulder to shoulder in a small 90 degree room drinking whiskey excites you then by all means it's a must. Either way try it out for one.

Yelp
In a true speakeasy style, the entrance to this gem is hidden in an unmarked door on the back wall of a pizza parlor. In my opinion, the best cocktail bar of its kind in Paris, and cheaper than its competitors. They make the best old-fashioned I've ever had. And the rest of their seasonally rotating menu is fantastic. With true custom cocktails and creative inventions there's something here for everyone. The bartender's know their stuff and the atmosphere laidback, smooth, and savvy.
