The Best Korean Restaurants in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Over at this family-run Korean restaurant in the South Shore from a Seoul-born chef who trained at a Marriott hotel in South Korea, it’s eminently traditional with options not commonly found, like gimmari (seaweed rolls stuffed with glass noodles), curry donkkasu dupbap (chicken cutlet and rice with spicy sauce), and kimchi and pork-stuffed mandu dumplings." - Holly Tousignant

One of the best Korean restaurants in Montreal! The portions are huge, and you can’t go wrong ordering anything from the menu—it’s surprisingly authentic, even better than many places in Korea. Must-try dishes include the bone-in fried chicken, kimchi pancake, seafood pancake, and BBQ bulgogi. The only downside is that the restaurant is quite small, so there’s almost always a wait.

OMG the food was sooooo good! The staff were incredibly friendly and kind to my mom while we waited for our order. We had a long day driving back from Montreal, and my friend recommended this restaurant — she did not disappoint! This was my first time having Korean food, and I will definitely come back. My mom and I both got the Japchae and the pork mandoo, and everything was absolutely delicious. My mom’s phone was running low, and the staff were so thoughtful, letting her sit inside to charge it while we waited for our takeout. Such a warm and welcoming experience, and the food made it even better. Highly recommend!

Review of Moonsikdang Moonsikdang has such a quaint and warm atmosphere—it felt like stepping into a little cabin in Jeju Island. The cozy decor and welcoming vibe made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Even the toilets were impressively clean, which is always a plus! One of the highlights of my visit was the older male server. He was incredibly kind and welcoming, truly the best server in town. You could tell he genuinely loves his job, and he absolutely deserves good tips for his excellent service. As for the food, the portions were very generous, making it well worth the price. Everything tasted like authentic Korean cuisine, full of rich flavors and comforting home-cooked quality. The only downside for me was that the japchae was a bit too oily, but aside from that, everything was a solid 10/10. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a hearty and authentic Korean meal in a warm, inviting setting!

Joshua provided an awesome experience to my family. The kimchi is amazing. The bimbimpap was good but the bowl is simply too hot. That said, the taste of everything was really good.

Food was delicious! I think this restaurant is authentic. The best Korean restaurant in the south shore that is actually run by Koreans. Although the dishes are a bit on the pricier side, the quality and taste is worth the price. I recommend the spicy pork (jeyuk) as it had a nice grilled flavour and was well seasoned. The dolsot bibimbap came pipping hot and the rice was super crispy. We also ordered the galbitang which had a nice clean flavour. We saw a lot of locals ordering that too. The seafood pancake was also a home run. Nice and light. Perfectly crispy and not too much batter. Will be back again!!

One of the best korean restaurants in town. Everything tastes perfect and fresh. The best items are probably the beef tartare bibimbap with a good amount of beef and delicious vegetables or the bulgogi on a sizzling pan. The price is a bit more expensive than some other korean places but it’s definitely worth it. There’s parking outside and you can reserve. Take out is also very convenient.

I was curious about this restaurant after reading so many good reviews. However I wouldn't say it as good as some say. I enjoyed my pork bibimbap, but I found that they weren't too generous with the pork. Especially for the price they are charging. The presentation of the dishes are nice. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was ok. The dessert was a disappointment. It was a small matcha cake with chocolate sauce. The matcha wasn't good and the chocolate made it worse. It gets busy on the weekends and there are often lineups. Go early or call to reserve.

The dishes tasted great. It was a little pricey, but worth it. The side dishes were great. It's hard to find a good authentic and family owned Korean restaurant on the south shore.

Yelp
Family run, quiet Korean restaurant on Victoria Ave (St-Lambert). Absolutely delicious. We basically tried 1/2 the menu. There's nothing I didn't like. Even their Korean "ade" drinks are refreshing. My favourite dishes were the kimchi mandu dumplings, the fried chicken, tteokbokki, green onion pancake (basically the 4 appetizers I tried), as well as the beef BBQ for 1 as the main. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Yelp
Authentic Korean food. Favs are spicy seafood tofu soup, fried chicken, dolsot bibimbap, and seafood pajeon. Reservations recommended for Friday and Saturday nights. Friendly service too.

Yelp
Il s'agit d'un restaurant coréen délicieux. Le personnel était sympathique et la nourriture délicieuse. Sundubu est le meilleur !
