Moonstruck Cafe - Review - Stockwell - London - The Infatuation

"Moonstruck is the kind of cafe that coffee-lovers will struggle to stroll past. On light wood benches out front, cool Stockwell locals and those in the know sip amber-tinged house filter brews and work as IRL influencers, drawing you inside. Once there, it’s difficult to leave. A combination of the playlist—think, your coolest friend’s collection of instrumental hip-hop and obscure electronic tracks—and a tucked-away, dimly lit Sticker Room (read: creche for under-caffeinated adults) encourage lingering visits. Pop downstairs to the non-profit art space, Under The Spell, then hand yourself over to barista Liam who will talk you through a pour over menu that’s usually at least 10 options deep. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Pause Unmute" - Sinéad Cranna

I found this beautiful cafe after checking the area and reading the reviews. Unfortunately, as someone who drinks double espresso, I was so disappointed by the weak/diluted (?) coffee but more so by the atrocious price. Paying close to £4 (£3.70 actual price) for a double espresso is shocking and by far the most expensive I have had in London (Gail’s is £3.10 for comparison). This is a shame as the other coffees seem reasonably priced for the area (£4 for a flat white), and they don’t charge extra for alternative milk. The pastries also looked delicious, but I can’t comment as I didn’t try any. I won’t come back for the double espresso, but perhaps for a flat white or pastry next time.

Amazing coffee, which is hard to find in the area. The only issue is that there are always people working on laptops, taking up all the available tables. They should try to find a way to make it easier for those who just want to enjoy a cup of coffee

Chill vibes! Welcoming service. Fantastic single origin café latte and tasty cardamom bun. There’s a little private space where just me and my pups on that day. Very relaxing . They also offer multiple ways to enjoy the coffee. Will return soon :)

What a hidden gem, it was our first time in this lovely cafe but won’t be the last, both adults and kids loved the stickers room, it is really cool, we liked the food and coffee too. We had flat white and mocha and both were really good. We also had the cinnamon roll which was delicious. Customer service was amazing and the whole atmosphere was fantastic.

Has to be one of my favourite coffee shops in London! So much attention to detail with every drink they make. Really recommend the coffee flight as you get to try a coffee 3 different ways or if your not a coffee drinker there matcha is also very good! 🍵
