The 16 Best Restaurants & Bars On Bainbridge Island - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Even though the near-constant line out the door is a big time-suck on a hot day, the ice cream at Mora is great. The texture is eerily similar to gelato, and there are a ton of flavors that range from cheesecake brownie to blackberry. Better yet—get both of those scooped into the same cone." - Aimee Rizzo, Kayla Sager Riley

I recently visited this store and tried their strawberry and chocolate ice cream flavors. Both were delicious, with a smooth and creamy texture that was a real treat for my taste buds. In fact, I would argue that the ice cream at this store is on par with some of the best ice cream shops I've ever visited, like Salt and Straw. Maybe even a tad better! The seating area in front of the store was also very nice, making it a great spot to enjoy some ice cream on a sunny day. I highly recommend checking out this store if you're in the area!

Google
A Must Stop Ice Cream place when in Bainbridge. This is basically the Molly Moons or Salt & Straw of Bainbridge. Amazing ice cream place. They have some really good flavors for ice creams and sorbets! We ordered their swiss chocolate (godiva chocolate with chocolate liquer) what more does one want! It was divine! One of our swiss chocolates was with hot fudge topping which was next level! They offer free tastings as well but I dont think you can go wrong with anything you order here. They also sell pints. Have ample indoor seating and some outdoor seating too. This place is centrally located from several restaurants and walkable distance from the ferry terminal too. All in all we loved our ice creams and will be back for more! Highly recommend.

There’s a reason this place on Bainbridge is popular. Flavors are excellent and often unique. This time I put the pink grapefruit sorbet and cinnamon ice cream. A single scoop can be split with two flavors, it will run you seven dollars before tip. Plenty of places to sit inside and outside and attentive service. Amazing when you find no lines.

Google
Super great icecream with proper sweetness! I bought pint with mora and banana split. BANANA split is my life icecream! I am positive abut this! It has real banana flavor, and I think this beats magnolia bakery's banana pudding absolutely. I will visit here for eating this again!!! Staffs were so kind, they allowed tasing flavors. I came to the store near 2 pm, and waited 20 minutes. People were crowded.

Google
Nice little icecream place on Bainbridge island. Can get a bit crowded in the evenings. We ordered multiple flavors like the brownie cheesecake, French vanilla, brownie mora etc. The flavors are average as compared to any icecream store, not any different. The best flavor was the Swiss and French vanilla combo.

Google
The best ice cream! Cheesecake with swirled raspberry was to die for! Seriously!!! The dark chocolate was good too. A cute little friendly ice cream shop. We had our dog with us, we rode over on the ferry. They had little benches and bistro tables on their sidewalk & it was lovely to hear all the birds singing. They had a few umbrellas to make shade. The other store fronts had water bowls for dogs. This is a must stop.

Google
Delicious ice cream place in Bainbridge island. I would definitely recommend to try out ice cream here if you are coming to Bainbridge island. We tried the Cheesecake with berries and hazelnut chocolate, both were amazing. There are many different flavors available to try out. They also have sundaes and milkshake. The rates are reasonable considering the quality and quantity.

Google
Excellent local ice cream shop with a great variety of ice cream and sorbet flavors. Often a long line so be prepared to wait. They no longer accept cash, so credit cards or contactless payments only.

Yelp
They had the flavor profile I liked and I'd come back . Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance was cute

Yelp
This location has changed over (previously Mora) - before the ice cream was so good, it was worth taking the ferry just to get our fix. The new establishment is meh, and when you add in the cardboard straws it is a definite avoid.

Yelp
After stopping for lunch at Proper Fish my parents and I made the short walk to Island Cool. My mom was craving pistachio ice cream and though Island Cool doesn't list their flavours online, the other nearby ice cream place didn't have pistachio on the online menu so we made a gamble. My mom loved the pistachio ice cream but I thought the flavour could have been bolder. To me, it was like having plain vanilla ice cream. I opted for a mini scoop of strawberry ice cream in a cup. The ice cream is local made with local fresh strawberries that were sweet. I just wish there were more strawberries in the ice cream to really get that full-bodied strawberry taste. My dad ordered toffee coffee which my mom tried multiple times to steal. The coffee was delicious and I loved the texture the bits of toffee in the ice cream created. I also appreciated how generous the toffee was in the ice cream, there were multiple pieces in every bite. The restaurant was clean with compostable cups and the staff were friendly and attentive. Though there was a line when we first walked in, it was taken care of quickly and we were served promptly. There is plenty of outdoor seating and my parents and I enjoyed eating our ice cream on the benches outside while people watching. There was also an activities cart inside the creamery with board games, crayons, and colouring sheets for little kids which I found pretty thoughtful. My parents are already planning to come back. Next time I'm really looking forward to trying their mango sorbet.

Yelp
A nice selection of flavors but I felt like the ice cream and sorbets fell a little short for me. It's a tad bit pricey for the portion and when we came the line was on the longer side so it there was a bit of a wait. Understandable because it was a hot day. I ended up sharing a mango sorbet with my husband but after eating it awhile it just didn't taste like authentic mango.

Yelp
I don't normally crave ice cream but I liked what I got from here. They have unique flavors like almond poppyseed, cucumber lime, and P.O.G. (passion organe guava). I had a single scoop (you can choose two flavors) and tried almond matcha as well as cookies and coffee. They are both delicious! I liked the thick consistency and creaminess. The portion was also generous. I'd come back if I'm back on the island again and craving something cool and sweet.

Yelp
First off the place smelled so bad the whole shop and area smelt like humid trash instantly making it really unappetizing. The employees were so slow and by the time I paid my ice cream was half melted and messily dripping down the cup. Additionally the cashier was making fun of and being rude to the people ahead of me for barely tipping which was not okay. Also there was a very limited selection of ice cream and the sandwiches were mid at best.

Yelp
We were walking around on a hot, sunny day, so we had to grab some ice cream. There was a long line, and was moving slow because there was only one worker and the other one was on a break. The second one came back by when we were closer to the front of the line. Staff was friendly. I got the S'mores and my bf got Cookies and Cream. Both were tasty.

Yelp
It was raining so not a lot of customers. They let you try samples. The thing is Fresno has this amazing ice cream place called Ampersand where everything is made in house and it's farm to table and they are just the best ice cream with seasonal offerings. Island Cool doesn't make their ice-cream in house, but it was delicious. I got the cookies and cream with the matcha and almond ice cream. It's a very cutesy store.

Yelp
Was looking forward to going there yesterday but ultimately was disappointed. They state up front that they don't take cash. Not sure why, but that almost turned me around. Seemed arrogant. But I went in anyway and was told that they only had milk chocolate flavors. No dark chocolate. Disappointed! Tried the banana split flavor. It was served soft, probably because that made it easier to scoop. No banana flavor until the aftertaste hit after about an hour. Disappointing. You'll get better ice cream at Cups Espresso in P'bo. Or at Scoops & Bites in Bremerton or Cold Stone in Silverdale. Way back when this was Mora Ice Creamery they had way better selection, including dark chocolate, which was what I was looking forward to, and the ice cream was cold enough to make it harder to scoop but better to enjoy.

Yelp
Super cute spot within walkable distance from the ferry terminal! The one downside was that there weren't any great vegan options for my friend, so I'd skip if I had dietary restrictions. But besides that, there's a great selection of flavors and I was personally a big fan of the pecan praline!

Yelp
I had the green tea and blackberry icecream which was so delicious! Pleasant and courteous service as well and the interior was clean. Highly recommended!

Yelp
The shop offers many flavor choices, and I was glad that it had some dairy-free options. Each of our group who ordered liked our ice cream.

Yelp
Are you kidding me? $8 for a small cup of mediocre ice cream? Baskin Robbin's would have been better. Staff was lovely. Atmosphere was fine. $8 dollars?!?! Not worth it.

Yelp
Prior name was Mora. Island cool came in and added so many great and unique flavors. Reasonably priced, great staff and worth the wait if weekend summer lines get a bit long. They have a few locations! Yum

Yelp
Sorry to say but in my opinion, the ice cream here is below average. According to the person who served us, this shop sells Snoqualmie ice cream. So you're getting the same thing sold in the grocery store and it definitely tastes like it. The cinnamon was bland and the salted caramel gingersnap surprisingly not flavorful. I'm sure others won't mind and but this place was not for me.

Yelp
The staff were super friendly, and even allowed for free samples of the ice cream flavors we wanted to try, so we knew what we were getting. I loved that they had so many options to choose from, and they do milkshakes too! I got the cherry-flavored one and it was something else; it was a delightful tasting experience. The theme of the place is very colorful with a creative theme, with checker boards and coloring sheets for you to fill in. For visiting Bainbridge for the first time, I'm really glad this was one of the first places I've tried. Definitely going back to try the other flavors for sure!

Yelp
I sent my 10yr old to get two 16oz raspberry smoothies. I thought he was teasing me when he told me it cost $25. I just looked at my credit card app...$25.66!!!? For two smoothies! Fuck you Island Cool. And don't blame inflation...you're fucking robbers

Yelp
we used to literally take the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge to visit Mora. shattered when realized it was a victim of some pe driven late stage capitalism. this ice cream place is no better than store brand grocery ice cream. Worth skipping for sure.

Yelp
I just stopped in for ice cream at Island Cool. I confess, I hadn't been there yet as I was still grieving the loss of the shop that was there before. The service was welcoming and helpful. I tried two flavors recommended by my server and was pleased with both. The interior has been refreshed and is pretty and inviting. Earl Grey and White Out ice creams were delicious. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
They had lots of unique ice cream flavors and I like that they let you sample before deciding what flavors you want. I got matcha almond which was good and it had a subtle green tea flavor. The sizing they have is very confusing. Mini scoop = 1 scoop, single scoop = two scoops, and double scoop = four scoops. I said "I'd like single scoop size of matcha almond please." She asked "What size?" and I replied "Single scoop size." I told them TWICE that I wanted the matcha almond single scoops expecting two scoops like everybody else, but was confused how little she scooped (it was literally half a scoop of ice cream). At the register, she charged $4.37 and that's when I realized it's a mini scoop. She'd already went back to scoop ice cream for other customers and it was busy so I left but I am disappointed how much I paid for a mini scoop which honestly didn't even look like a full round scoop. It was tiny like they barely scooped the ice cream :/

Yelp
I too was craving some ice cream and wanted something local, Oreos milkshake to enjoy on my drive to Portland. Unfortunately for me, they were out of milk. I then chose a single scoop and headed to use their restroom. It was out of order. So I canceled my scoop and moved on. I would have loved to support a local business and sample a good cool treat.

Yelp
I love coming here for ice cream! The staff is always so very sweet! All of the flavors of ice cream are so good! This place is definitely a destination when traveling to Bainbridge Island!

Yelp
There is nothing I love more than a scoop of ice cream. I have eaten ice cream all over the country and all over the world, and maybe it's recency bias, but I truly think one of (if not THE) best ice creams I ever tried was at Island Cool. My family and I were visiting Bainbridge Island for the day, and wanted to get something sweet to top us off before the ferry ride home. I typically opt for chocolatey flavors, but on this day I decided to go for the Skagit Valley Strawberry and the Honey Lavender. They were out of this world!!!! The strawberry was refreshing and sweet without tasting fake at all, while the honey lavender was light and airy, with a delicious hint of that lavender kick. The flavors had a beautiful complexity too; I was just blown away by the quality. I was so disappointed to see that they didn't ship their ice creams, because I would have ordered pint after pint of their strawberry! You HAVE to try this place if you visit Bainbridge. Trust me, you will not leave disappointed.
