Mordeo Bistro & Bar

We had a great time in this restaurant. Hummus was delicious!! Ragu and pesto pizza were flavouful, and the creme brulèe was decadent, just the perfect finish to the meal. Service was fantastic, staff are attentive, our water was always refilled. Would be happy to come back again!

Large airy space in the foyer of Quay Grand building. Feels like outdoors while being all weather. Excellent service - careful and just attentive enough. Food was excellent. We enjoyed wonderful octopus salad, beetroot hummus and superb fish cakes for entree. The seafood dishes were the stars. Mains we had a prosciutto pizza (very good), crispy pork belly (very good), crab spaghetti (seriously good) and lamb fusilli (excellent, generous and very tasty). Very good and affordable wine list with some excellent interesting choices. We’ll be back. Mordeo is a gem.

So ...one star is not for the food, which was decent, or the service which was great. It is for the suprise 10% service fee at the end, which our server said is a "policy" of the restaurant. I have an alternative policy suggestion - increase your prices by 10% and let people decide if they want to come rather than spring it on them last minute.

We had dinner before a show. The service was prompt and efficient. The waitress told us there were only two dishes left of the meal we ordered and quickly ran into the kitchen to secure it for us. The food was delicious, as always. We had the Beef Brisket with Macaroni. No time for dessert unfortunately (our fault). They were happy to split the bill between us so that's always very helpful.

Amazing evening location, great ambience and service. The girls and I loved the night here having flavourful pasta and mains. The crab linguine and the crispy skin chicken was a favourite! ✨

Literally the saltiest, most flavourless food I’ve ever had. I genuinely wanted to like the restaurant as It’s quite close to the State Library and could’ve become a regular lunch spot for me, but definitely not again

The food was not bad - service was pretty weak. On a balance I’d go again, steak was done just right. It’s a nice overall restaurant, but misses the mark on service

interior has dark & lovely tones service is attentive and friendly you can request chilli oil on the side with your pasta Gigli Bolognese was great with a bit of chilli polenta chips & chorizo croquette were crispy and fluffy enjoyed the creme brulee
