Stopped at this restaurant by coincidence today and it was the best that could have happened. One of the guys there recommended the Americano sub, and i have to say hands down it was the best sandwich i had in a long time. They have a few options for this sandwich, I chose grilled chicken. The chicken was thin and cooked to perfection, the bread was not toasted but so soft, it really didn’t need to be. The toppings added the final touch, pickled onions and pickles along with the lettuce and tomatoes and an amazing dressing to finish. The sandwich was big enough that I shared with my sister, but honesty I could eaten the whole thing. 5 stars all around, I will dream of this sandwich tonight 🤌🏼🤌🏼

Absolutely THE BEST! Visiting from Indiana. I had the caprese chicken special. Husband had BLT, Son had Eggplant Parmesan, and daughter had chicken California sub. By far the most delicious, high quality sandwiches we have ever had. It is very rare that we all agree on restaurants. We had the Tres Leche for dessert. My only regret is living 11 hours away. Excellent quality, flavors, freshly prepared and very friendly service.

Just purchased my first sandwich from Mordi's. I ordered chicken Parm sub and fries. I was impressed by the flavor and care placed in creating a sandwich that could compete with the best Italian restaurants. The sauce was fresh and tasted homemade. I am going to assume plum tomatoes were used in the sauce. Also, the fries were amazing. It was not the typical small portion size many other venues serve, but rather a portion that is substantial enough to last throughout the entire meal. EXTREMELY IMPRESSED. I highly recommend you forget other places for your sandwich experiences and eat here. You will not regret it. Plus, the serving are a decent size where you can make two meals out of it. ENJOY!!!!!

Sandwiches were amazing! We got the grilled chicken and fried eggplant italiano style soooooo good! Super fresh ingredients and friendly staff. I would recommend getting it spicy to balance out the sweet peppers. Totally worth it!

Immediate greeting upon arrival. Ordered hot california eggplant schnitzel with Marissa and asked for their regular tuna salad to be cold California style schnitzel. Food was prepared as ordered. Delicious blend of flavors and both well packed with fresh ingredients. Would have given 5 stars if I'd had optional cost to get crusty Italian bread to hold it all together. Communication Avenue site is conveniently located on a corner, neat and clean, but not basically take out.

Well I found my new favorite sandwich shop holy be holy wow some really great selections My first sandwich here is the crazy cuban, All I can say is that's the best Cuban sandwich I had in a long time. It's a small place but so worth the drive and visit. Just revisited and ordered the prime rib cheesesteak sandwich wow so they should have a higher level because it definitely deserves a 10 so freaking good.

Really great sandwich shop with fast and friendly service. Started with some fries that tasted just like McDonalds (a compliment). Hot and crispy. Took a recommendation and tried the chicken parm and the Cuban sandwiches. Both were packed with layers of flavor and fresh ingredients. Everything on the menu looked good. I’ll be stopping by anyone I’m in the area.

Let me start off by saying everyone and their mother recommended this plane to me non stop. I had to stop in finally and try their food that apparently was out of this world ! It's a cozy little sandwich shop off the main ave in a cute and quiet neighborhood. The seating area is small but if you're just grabbing a quick bite to eat then it serves its purpose. Not so much a place to sit and stay for extended periods of time. The selection ranges from bowls, to salads, to sandwiches and burgers and more. The cooking staff are super fast and I waited less than 10 mins for my food. The service is 10/10 . Everyone is friendly and personable . I ordered the California burger medium rare and it came out perfectly. The picture doesn't do the burger justice. It was HUGE! The suaces, the fresh guac all were a perfect touch alongside the crispy bacon. The fries were thin cut slightly salted and crunchy just the way I liked it. Their meal was $15 and came with a free drink under $2. I highly recommend this place. Delicious and what the reviews tell you is true. go in and get you a something asap

Ordered: cheesesteak The good: quality of the meat tasted good. The aioli was excellent. The fresh mozzarella was delicious Not so good: the untoasted bread absorbed all the aioli so it was soggy. The portions were lacking for the price: $19.69 with no fries included. I'd give it a 7/10

Good quality, tasty food, quick and friendly service. Properly priced as well. This corner has come a long way over the years (the previous bodega at this location sold loosies and kept the Sunday papers behind the counter as people would swipe the circulars!).

Mordi's came highly recommended and I am glad I came. I thought the sandwiches were good but not great. The bread was a touch stale and the breaded chicken wasn't as tender as I would have wanted. The buffalo chicken sub was better than the philly cheesesteak. The chicken parm was ok. I have it right around 3 stars. They did open another location so maybe an off day. Gotta give it another try though!

My friend in Jersey city brought us here and raved about their subs. I got the chicken parm sub and it was good. Loved the crispy chicken and the sauce. The only thing I wish they did was toast the bread unless subs aren't supposed to be toasted (comment if they aren't supposed to). All in all it was a pretty good chicken parm sandwich. My other friends got the burger, Cuban, and falafel sandwich. All were pretty good. Fries were crispy. Not much seating inside but they do have chairs and tables outside. A quaint corner restaurant. I see a lot of ppl just pick up and go with their sub. The staff is very friendly and quick to make your order to your request. My only disliking would be that the fries are $7. I didn't see the size of the fries as a side but if they are similar to the one my friend got with his burger that as is pretty steep. The price alone deterred me from buying the fries which would've paired nicely with my sub.

Stopped at Mordi's for lunch, this place has so many great options. The Greek salad was on point it had olives, feta and grape leaves. It was delicious and healthy. The food was expensive but worth the price. Service was quick and easy and the shop felt like a hole in the wall that has become apart of jersey city's most notable eateries.

I've lived near Mordi's for about 2.5 years now and I've only been a few times. I need to start going more often. I ordered the crazy Cuban, chicken parm and kids grilled cheese with fries. I ordered delivery via Ubereats since I had a coupon. The food was ready so fast. All sandwiches were delicious. Even the grilled the cheese which is a simple sandwich was so tasty. My boyfriend and I really enjoy the sandwiches at Mordi's.

i have walked by, read about, and kept this spot bookmarked for far too long. ill keep it short, because what hasnt been said? come here for the chicken parm sandwich. i was impressed. my only suggestion? MORE CHICKEN. i love how thin & crispy the chicken was. The sauce had an abundance of garlic. the soft bread held everything in. cant wait to come back and branch out from the very well talked about sandwhich. ps. great + fast service.

They have fantastic variety flavors of sandwiches. Everythig was so good and very appetizing. I went there yesterday for takeout and the place was not that crowded. The staff was really friendly and nice to me. I bought for my wife which she like the Chicken Parm Sub and I had the Garys Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. The chicken was so tasty and tender. Their bun was fresh too. It was amazing comfort food. Very satisfying.

Yo. It's disrespectful that I haven't reviewed this Uber Eats go to yet. Asinine. 2 4 1 fries!? Mah gawd. Best eggplant Parm in the game. Bar none. NONE. Cuban Sandwich is also too legit to quit even if you're vegan. Only thing I don't like is that the order always says ready after about ten minutes but when you get there you gotta wait for the fries. I think it's just them trying to be perfectionists, but their fries could be a day old and still better than everywhere else.

Sandwiches are ok, but Veloce is close by and is a much better option. Been here a couple of tubes and the sandwiches are always soggy. Fries are not good. The falafel is pretty good, though.

We grabbed takeout when in the area due to the high ratings. My wife got the eggplant parm, which was really good. I got the classic burger. The burger was good overall, but because of all the ingredients, sauce, toppings, etc. I felt the main part of it, the meat, was average at best. It definitely needed some seasonings. Medium rare was also medium, which didn't help the juiciness of the burger. Kinda weird with how fresh and flavorful the ingredients were that it overshadowed the burger itself. I'm sure most of the other stuff is great so I'd try something different next time but I would say to pass on the burger.

Buffalo sub was simple, large and full of flavor. Cool little shop with friendly staff. Parking can be a challenge but worth the trip.

Finally stopped by Mordi's after passing by it multiple times! Parking was fairly easy to find in the area. Upon walking in, my sister and I were greeted and asked if we needed help. It was pretty busy inside but the staff made sure every customer was taken care of. There are high a couple high chairs to sit on inside with tables facing the windows or you can sit outside as they have tables with umbrellas. Since we looked up the menu before hand, we already sold ourselves on the buffalo eggplant sub and the Mediterranean eggplant sub. Added two strawberry lemonades and french fries and our meal was complete. A little under $50 which wasn't bad for the amount of food given! First things first, the strawberry lemonade was super refreshing especially on a hot day. French fries were fresh and crisp. Make sure you purchase one of their sauces on the side; I ordered chipotle mayo. Now for the stars of the show, the sub. They were MASSIVE! The buffalo eggplant had mild spice, baby romaine, tomatoes, sumac pickled red onions, ranch & blue cheese. Back then when I ate meat, I always ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich from Quick Check. Now since I am a pescatarian, I am so glad I tried their buffalo eggplant sub because it reminds me of what I would eat years ago just BETTER! My sister loved her Mediterranean eggplant sub; feta cheese, baby romaine, tomatoes, sumac pickled red onions, cucumber, pickles and house-made hummus & parsley tahini. Can't wait to try out other menu items!

This is a great place to have lunch. Cheesesteak was very good. Chicken schnitzel with fries just as good or better. We pick up lunch here every time we are in the neighborhood.

I got the California burger, which was very hefty in size - $16, on yummy challah bread, with guac, bacon and the burger patty, with fries. The flavors were good, and tasted fresh. Service was friendly and relatively fast. They also sold small bags of artisan chips and drinks. There was also a small community library and a few games.

The chicken parm sub is stellar, this is something that I sometimes even CRAVE !! Add extra spicy harissa, it's bomb!!!

I may have gotten the best service at the sandwich shop than anywhere I visited on the East Coast between Atlanta and Boston. I was really looking for a pork roll sandwich with egg and cheese as I heard that was the thing to eat in New Jersey while visiting. I was warmly greeted by the staff when I came in. After explaining what I wanted they were happy to recommend their pork roll sandwich which was delicious! I can see why this is a food in New Jersey! I was curious about their chipotle Mayo which generally cost $.50 for a small container but the guy said since I traveled so far he gave it to me for free. That was a really kind gesture. Not only that, we have gotten a strawberry lemonade that our whole family absolutely loved and when I asked for refills they said that they generally don't give refills on the lemonade. Then a little while later one of the staff came out and said that they would be happy to make an exception and give us a refill of the lemonade. Again such a great gesture. This is the type of customer service that keeps customers coming back and I hope that the sandwich shop continues to do really well. I couldn't recommend it more highly, and might even make a trip from New York out here next time I'm in New York just to give them my business because of their great service and sandwiches!

This review is long overdue! We always go to Mordis or order takeout, and their food is consistently fresh and delicious. Today, on one of our first days out with our newborn, we decided to eat outside and enjoy some burgers and fries. As usual, the food was amazing. Out of nowhere, a huge thunderstorm hit, and we were trapped outside. The owner came out, helped us out of the rain, and brought us inside, showing incredible hospitality. It's just one example of how the people at Mordis are not only serving great food but also genuinely care about their customers. We're so happy to see Mordis doing so well and wish them the best of luck with their second location. Overall, it's a fantastic place with great people, and we couldn't recommend it more!

The Crazy Cuban was one of the best heroes I've ever had. The place has a buzz I totally recommend it.

Mordi's is the best there is!!! Yummiest sandwiches, the bessttttt salads!!! the freshest ingredients and the nicest staff!!!! The chicken parm sub is amazing!! My fav is the falafel pita.. omg so yummy and the pita is the best I have ever had in my life!! Check it out!! You won't be disappointed..

Love the simplicity and breakdown of how to either customize your sandwich or choose a pre-selected combo for yourself! Upon entry, love the well lit store and the very organized and great variety of chips available! Staff were friendly and helpful! Also love the free dog treats at the counter! In general, the sandwiches are quite large! I was able to eat them for 2 meals! (That might differ upon your appetite and preferred portions!) (Buffalo Chicken Wrap) Nice sauce, good meat! Did wish the bread was bit crispier like a baguette or hero Overall great portion and price, would return!

Every time I'm in Jersey City, I usually pass by Mordi's and I've been wanting to stop by for a while. Recently I got the chance to visit and I can definitely say I will be back! I also love that Mordi's menu has a lot of vegetarian options so I wanted to try some out. Upon entering, I could tell that Mordi's is definitely a hot lunch spot and can get busy pretty quickly. For this visit, I decided to order: -Mediterranean Sub with Crispy Breaded Eggplant (Feta Cheese, Baby Romaine, Tomatoes, Sumac Pickled Red Onions, Cucumber, Pickles and House-made Hummus & Parsley Tahini) -Side of Fries -Strawberry Lemonade The food came out fresh and ready to-go and my sister and I went to the car to try out our food. Not only are the portions huge, all of the ingredients tasted fresh and paired well together. I finished half my sandwich and a few fries, which were perfectly crispy and salted, and was beyond full! I wrapped up the rest of my food and enjoyed it later so I essentially got two meals out of my order. I'm happy that I've officially visited Mordi's and I will be back for their breakfast!

Finally an amazing local deli where I can get more then one vegetarian sandwich option! I had their eggplant Mediterranean style and was perfect. Service was excellent and the line moved fast. My belly is so happy to have found this place!

Another 5 star experience at Mordi's. This time we called our order in ahead of time so we didn't have to wait for our food when we arrived. My husband got the Crazy Cuban which was good but was mostly pulled pork with only a thin piece of schnitzel and ham; he prefers the sandwiches with more schnitzel. I got the breakfast pita again which did not disappoint (but was too messy to photograph!).

Best sub shop in the area hands down. I stop here every time I'm in the Jc area, if you're close by make sure to stop and build your own sub even though I get the cheesesteak ribeye every time lol .

Cute sandwich shop! My friend and husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich and neither of them loved it. I returned for their chicken parm sub after loving it the first time and was surprised that they seem to have changed the bread. The bread on the first visit had a nice crunch and held up well. The bread on the second visit was way too soft and pillowy and did not hold up well. I still loved the taste of the chicken parm itself both times.

Can't say I've had a "light" chicken cutlet sandwich that hit the spot like this one. Heard a lot about this place and it lived up to expectations!

I love the food here, always top quality. I am a big fan of chicken schnitzel, and Mordi's does it right. There are good veggie options too, if that's your jam. Their French fries are like high end McDonald's, thin and crunchy. My whole family loves them. It's easy to navigate the menu for allergies too, which I have to do for our child. Salad options, sandwich options, platters, I've tried them all, and never disappointed. My husband's fav is the Italian sub w/chicken schnitzel. And the purple cole slaw is the prettiest I've seen. My fav changes, I do love the garlic aioli, that I get with the platter, the tastiest!

We love this place so much. We don't live in the area but we visit often and we don't miss the chance to grab an Italiano Sub with the chicken schnitzel. I can honestly say it is my favorite sub anywhere. The schnitzel is perfectly crisp and seasoned, the fresh mozzarella is a perfect compliment. The bread, veggies and dressing are all on point. I wish I had a picture to post. I always jump right in and completely forget to take one! The staff is very friendly and it never takes long to get our order. There are some nice tables outside we love to sit at and eat when weather allows!

Mordi's is great. Their chicken schnitzel is amazing and their homemade sauces are great especially the garlic lemon aioli and spicy harissa. My wife likes their fries but I just find them average at best. Their sandwiches more than make up for the average fries so 5 stars is a no brainer.

The sandwiches are wonderful. So far I've tried tuna, eggplant parmesan (devine), classic breakfast bacon/egg/cheese (solid grab n go fare), smoked salmon (with scallion cream cheese, capers & sumac picked onions). Tuna was amazing !!!

Best falafel - better than Ibby's. They're similar but I prefer Mordi's. And I dream, both day and night about the eggplant cutlet. However the absolute best item on the menu for vegetarians is bbq cauliflower bites. Holy moley. The sauces are pretty good, tahini being my least favorite. Salads are fresh. My one small wish is that the fries weren't freezer bought. But since they're shoestring, I can forgive and forget

Wow! Sandwich is huge for $12. Spot is super chill and amazing staff. Was made super quick, hot and spicy. Super moist and delicious sandwich. Top notch!!! Great job and definitely coming back! Spice level is amazing just right amount and flavorful!

A pretty neat little shop! They seemed to be very busy which is always a good sign. Regardless, the orders all came out within five minutes! The guys I was with all thought Falafel is gross but if you like it, I think you'll very much enjoy this fresh and somewhat healthier menu item. I definitely had to add the crispy chicken for the extra cost. I was very happy with my choice and the price was appropriate for a lunch budget. I'll definitely be back to this place next time I'm in town!

We tried this for breakfast bagels did the first time. This review focuses on the customer service - we ordered the Atlantic Salmon bagel sandwich and the Bacon Egg & Cheese bagel sandwich. We got home and to our disappointment, there was no salmon on the sandwich! We went back and they were extremely apologetic, fixed the bagel and gave us a yummy lemon square. The bagels were airy and light - not my favorite type - prefer the dense chewy NY Style kind - but still fresh and flavorful. The sandwiches were delicious!!

One of the best sandwich experiences, ever. Catered a birthday party for a team member at the studio. The eggplant was breaded and fried to perfection- hands down the best eggplant I've every tasted. The falafel bites and salad were awesome as well as the pita. The owners care about the quality, flavor, and authenticity. Highly recommended!
