The 12 Best Restaurants In Beacon, New York - Hudson Valley - The Infatuation

"The best place for a really hearty meal in town is at Moreish, a British breakfast stall inside of the Hudson Valley Food Hall. The menu is full of classics like a full English breakfast, bangers and mash, and crumpets, all of which are ideal if you’re about to hit Dia and log 10k steps. The rich comfort of their sausage rolls and steak and Guinness pie is an excellent way to warm up on a brisk afternoon, and we definitely want to come back to check out the homemade banoffee pie." - anne cruz

We hear the scones are good here, so we came to buy some. The scone is delicious, and they put some jam and cream on the side to make it even more flavorful. I bought it as a takeout, so it’s not heated. Not sure if they will heat the scone when customers dine in. Overall, it’s a nice little restaurant in the Main Street of beacon.

Went for afternoon tea on a Saturday. The three tiered tower and tea was excellent, there wasn’t anything we disliked. The bread for the finger sandwiches was extremely fresh, they have real clotted cream for their delicious scones, the sweets were a nice variety and very tasty. Adorable atmosphere and our waitress was so sweet. Will 100% be back.

The chips were very soggy. The fish tasted fresh but the butter was not good. The pudding sauce was way overpowered by thyme. For the price, the food is really not good. Would not recommend

Found this British cafe in upstate NY, as I was missing food from home so I made a 40 minute journey. The toad in the hole was just okay, what would have made it good is if the Yorkshire pudding batter was fully cooked, fluffier and for it to have less gravy or have it on the side so you can put on as much as you want. Ordered chips and was not all cooked properly. The Sticky toffee pudding was brilliant! Would definitely come back for that alone! I did take away more of the pudding and the Cornish pasty which I highly recommend! What was missing was sausage rolls which I was disappointing as I was told it was recently taken off the menu recently.

Can’t believe we came across this cute & delicious spot on our first trip to becon!!!!!!!!! Me and my girlfriends wanted a cutesy brunch spot and we were left feeling extremely satisfied. The food was amazing,,, from scone to fish and chips to the dessert caramel pudding. The lemon honey white tea was delightful and all the tea cups and dishes were unique!! we were really warmly greeted too! Don’t forget to make reservations for the weekend!

We had a wonderful time at Moreish’s new location during their opening week! We loved their English breakfast from the food court last year and we were excited to see them expand into their own space. We had the afternoon tea special which came with three tiers of sandwiches/scones/dessert options, and also their bangers & mash dish which was the best we've ever had! Owners are wonderful, service was friendly, and Shay and Kim checked on us throughout our dining experience to make sure we had everything we needed. Glad that we made a reservation as the place has already become super popular and fills up fast! Edit: We returned to celebrate a birthday last month and had another fantastic experience! Shay and her mom were super welcoming and accommodating, and the food was terrific as always; this time we tried the fish and chips and toad in the hole which were both excellent. We'll be back anytime we're in Beacon!

Google
We recently visited Beacon NY and found this gem! The food was incredible! We both cannot wait for our return to try out the rest of the menu. If I was to make one tiny suggestion... the music playing did say "England" to us and would have been the cherry on top. Not to be cheesy EPCOT feel, but a bit more immersive. Check them out! You're in for a great meal!!!

Yelp
I stopped in here to grab a bite during the beacon food crawl. The Eton mess, which was fabulous raspberry dessert with whipped cream was amazing! I also thoroughly enjoyed the sausage that was in cased in a puff pastry. The lady that worked there was extremely informative and gracious as a hostess. Loved it!

Yelp
British food at its finest! A newly opened restaurant serving comfort food from across the pond. I can say that the food tasted as good as that which I ate in London. I will return for the pie of the day! We were served by a friendly bloke named Michael with a charming British accent. The restaurant is contained within the Hudson Valley Food Hall which has many places to eat. The noise level is moderate and there is street parking.

Yelp
When I visited London 9 years ago, I missed out on having an authentic English breakfast...just ate at our Marriott hotel. So I was happy and surprised that this type of food was available in 'lil ole Beacon, NY, where I was visiting family. It was very good, and I imagine, very authentic. First off, it's located in the food hall with other vendors, so I don't think they have a huge kitchen, but the meals were great and service excellent. Two in our party shared the Full English Breakfast; they loved the black pudding and everything else on the plate. I tried the baked beans, and they were delish. I shared the Steak & Guinness Pie and loved it. The crust was to die for, the steak tender, and mash with gravy was yummy comfort food. Someone else had the sausage roll and raved about it. We didn't have room for any of the sweets, but I'm ready for you, London, the next time I visit!

Yelp
When you know you are waking up in the morning and are going to have a full English breakfast without getting on a plane. Expectations!!!That's what happened to us today!!! We decided to take our Grandson to Moreish today for a true English Breakfast with all the fixings. I was most excited to try the black pudding, as I have had it both in England and Scotland numerous times and it is a luxury I have missed since before covid. Let me tell you, Chef Michael does not disappoint. I am a person who lives in the hill area Mt. Beacon, and I just don't want to go into town and deal with the tourists. I don't - I really don't. I am old and I am cranky, and I like my quiet and clearly do not want to fight for parking. Which is why, this Wednesday we decided to venture into town. First, perfection does not take 5 minutes. Be patient and know when the food arrives, it will be fresh. The yolk of the egg will be a beautiful bright orange and creamy. On my plate was the prettiest mushroom topped with a tomato. Of course, baked beans (Heinz - as the menu states) - Grilled British (yes imported) sausage, smoked back bacon, now this isn't the thin strips of Bacon, we poor American's are used to, this is real thick gorgeous bacon, as it should be. The hash browns were so good. And now onto my coveted black pudding. I was very lucky, that my wife does not care for black pudding in the slightest, it meant I got hers. What wasn't so great, our grandson LOVED it and he was able to eat one of hers. But that did leave me with 3 for myself and again... Totally worth the wait and we will be back. The only thing I predict... People will get word of this breakfast feast and will crowd in, and I will miss my good morning, Wednesday without crowds' breakfast. I do believe they will outgrow their cute little spot they are in now at the food court. I imagine a true breakfast and lunch spot for them. Thank you again and again Michael. PERFECTION! Next time, we are having those gorgeous sausage rolls for lunch! Julie, Deb, and their very happy Grandson!

Yelp
Discovered this spot a couple of weeks ago and the food was so delicious that I forgot to take any pictures. So I had to go back and rectify the situation by getting almost everything on the menu!! Food, staff and location just as amazing as the last time. If you are in the area definitely try it out. You'll be amazed by the savory food!! Moreish has now become one of our favorite spots!!

Yelp
Stopped in on busy Saturday, got two sausage rolls and two banoffee pies, both great choices. Nice staff would recommend.

Yelp
This place is great! Stopped by two months ago and tried the steak & Guinness pie, which was fantastic and a generous portion. This time we had the bangers & mash which was also impressive. You can tell this guy cares a great deal about the food and it really shows. This will be a mainstay in the cold weather months. Thanks you!

Yelp
I've been eyeing this place since I heard it was opening in the Hudson Valley Food Hall. I'm so happy we stopped in this morning to taste the Full English. Everything was delicious and just what I've been craving. Clearly everything was made with intention as we walked up and the scones were being rolled out and prepared to be baked - made fresh each day. Out service was friendly and fantastic and while the food hall is not the coziest environment- it offers a variety of options for everyone. One note - full English breakfast is served before noon but the rest of the menu is not available until after 12pm - so we will definitely be back to try more!

Yelp
We got the chicken & leek pie special (with mashed potatoes) and the veggie breakfast and both were INCREDIBLE! Took me right back to my UK visit! So wonderful to enjoy real British classics in Beacon!!!

Yelp
Another giant and delicious breakfast! The Full English Breakfast is so worth it! Delicious food, great service, and awesome area. Don't forget the sausage roll! With every penny!
