If you're looking for a neighborhood tavern, Moreland's is your spot. The atmosphere is pure, the service is friendly and responsive, and the menu/food is wonderful. They also have patio seating and an upstairs for football and quiz night.

The food was good. However, in our experience the service was lacking attention and sub par. The Food: Mussels in a white wine sauce were fairly good, questionable freshness among a few, but large in size and tasty. The wings were a little crispy, but had a good Buffalo flavor. The Lion’s Mane “Crab cake” was a well done version of a vegan crab cake with mushroom. I was surprised with the comparable consistency to a real crab cake. The Service: Being in the service industry myself, I give a lot of leeway. However, we were greeted by one server who took our apps and disappeared, then was doing what looked like to be roll ups at the table behind us and stopped serving us to maybe take a break. Another server picked up our table after 15-20 minutes of just waiting to be served/refilled, acted like nothing happened, and finally took our main course order. Very disappointed and unprofessional even if it was a shift change. One last small note, a full tavern should have something simple like soda guns. I was charged $4 per can of soda with no refills. Seems a bit odd and pricey at a tavern.

We were absolutely thrilled to work with Jess at Moreland’s Tavern for our wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks. Jess was fantastic from start to finish, helping us create the perfect event and menu while staying within our budget. The upstairs of the restaurant was set up beautifully for our party, complete with a photo slideshow of us playing on the TVs, which added a nice personal touch. The dinner was delicious, and our rehearsal dinner guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the roasted chicken was! After the sit-down dinner, Jess and her team seamlessly transitioned the space into a more casual area where the rest of our guests could mix and mingle, complete with an open bar and light snacks. The bartenders, Jess and Max, were absolute pros—our guests certainly kept them busy and they did an amazing job keeping us and everyone happy throughout the night. Jess and the team at Moreland’s Tavern made our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks unforgettable. As our neighbors up the street, we are so glad Moreland’s was a part of our wedding weekend as a favorite neighborhood spot we can revisit again and again. We highly recommend them for anyone looking for a great event venue with top-notch service!

Google
A good neighborhood spot to hang out, potentially drinks and bar food. The outdoor space is great so on those nice days this is the go to spot. The food is a bit lackluster, however I only had the wings and fries. I will be back to try other things and will update as necessary. Everyone is friendly and the service is really good.

Google
Smash burger wasn’t smashed, expensive food for small quantities, and terrible waiter to top it off. Our waiter deliberately stopped us leaving to call us out on our tip. He said we should have left more because it maintains his livelihood ,yet he provided minuscule amounts of service and still had the gall to ridicule us for more. I’d leave 0 star review if I could do to the poor service they provide here as it made the food unenjoyable.

Google
It's a really nice place, located near residential areas. The staff is super nice and kind. They offer draft beer so you have the choice to ask for a free sample of each one before ordering. Food is nothing out of the ordinary, but was really good and fast. One way of describing food is "what you are used to, but in a better way. The only downside is that you have to make reservations to dine inside, otherwise you have to stay at the bar.

Google
One of the best burgers I've had in a while! My partner and I stopped by for a late lunch and I got the smash burger with tots and was just blown away by the quality of the meat and the overall balance of flavors! The flourless cake for dessert was super rich too. Great food plus great and friendly staff means I definitely have to come back and try more of the menu!

Google
I attended a work celebration, so idk what the regular atmosphere is. That day the service was friendly and welcoming, drinks were strong, and the food delicious. I ma still having flashbacks from the meatball sliders.

Yelp
Moreland's is go to spot for us, and it never disappoints. For breakfast, I had the sandwich, which was delicious with a great balance of egg, bacon, and maple aioli. My friend loved the breakfast tacos, especially the chorizo. The tots that came with both dishes weren't the best, but we'll try a different side next time. We also had a dinner gathering with friends, and the serivce was outstanding. Our group was seated at the large table downstairs, and Amanda, our server, was super friendly and helped a couple of friends pick out drinks. The manager, Max, stopped by to check in on us, brought over drinks, and made sure one of our friends with a food allergy was well taken care of. The portions were generous, my husband's burger was huge, and my salmon was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was cozy, even on a rainy night, and we ran into a few neighbors. It's so nice to have a neighborhood spot with great food, drinks and a welcoming team. They keep things fresh with a regularly updated menu, and the prices are always reasonable. We'll definitely be back for more.

Yelp
Got a condescending lecture from our server after asking to remove two warm, flat beers from our bill--even though they were just $2 each as part of a burger and beer special. We had already ordered full-priced cocktails, so it clearly wasn't about money, just principle. I've been here many times--for the nice patio, good ambiance, and to support a neighborhood spot. (The beer with the special was solid the last time). The food has always been mediocre, but now paired with off-putting service, it's just not worth it. There are plenty of better options in Petworth/Brightwood.

Yelp
The food is seriously good and reasonably priced. Everyone keeps things running like a well oiled machine. From the food runner to the server, bartender, host and manager they check on you and the atmosphere is lovely. I have been dining here for the last few years and it's my favorite neighborhood restaurant. Please support them and go eat or have a beer, I promise you'll see what I mean.

Yelp
The service was great. Our waiter was great and checked on us from the workout and the atmosphere was nice and welcoming. But are you okay? A table warned us that the steak and schnitzel were not the best so we ordered blackened fish sandwiches and tacos which seemed to be cooked correctly but lacked spice. The cheesecake was good it didn't have graham crackers, didn't bother me but seems like it could be a bit of a bother. Final thoughts, great service, on-six atmosphere, and okay food. The score should really be 3.5 but I can't give it half.

Yelp
I think this place in severely underrated! Our group of 8 walked in last minute after a half day of PD's and they accommodated us immediately. For such a cozy place, their menu was fairly extensive and everyone picked something different on the menu...and no one was disappointed with their choice. We actually all ended up sharing with one another because the portions were pretty generous (well, larger than we had anticipated). Great waitstaff and like I said, we all enjoyed the cozy (fairly quiet...regardless of the current construction happening across the street) atmosphere. Gotta give it a try!

Yelp
Moreland's is a friendly neighborhood bar/restaurant. It is very kid friendly too. They have great vibes. It reminds of a Chicago corner place. I've really liked the pretzel bread as an appetizer. For dinner I have had the pork shnitzel and the salmon. Both are outstanding.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and service. Love the brunch! Clean and well-decorated. We've been going for several years now and it's maintained these qualities.

Yelp
Being in the service industry myself, I give a lot of credit. However, we were greeted by a server who took our apps and disappeared, then did what looked like a roll-up on the table behind us and stopped serving us to maybe take a break. Another server picked up our table after a 15-20 minute wait/to refill, acted like nothing happened, and finally took our main course order. Very disappointing and unprofessional even if it was a shift change.

Yelp
I randomly found this restaurant when I was on a walk and needed a break from cold and the wind. I was lucky enough to get there in time for happy hour and ordered a few items on the happy hour menu and on the regular menu. To start I had a glass of house Cabernet and their pretzel bread. The bread came with Dijon mustard and pimento cheese. It was really delicious; the bread was fresh and warm. I also ordered the steak tacos and a side salad. The steak tacos were delicious and cooked to perfection with a chipotle slaw. I really had a good dining experience. If you're ever in the DC area, you should give this place a try.

Yelp
Cute little neighborhood restaurant on 14th Street. I visited over in September around 8pm for dinner on Saturday night. It wasn't busy. The service was fine. My dish of shrimp with quinoa was good. The shrimp were cooked just right and flavorful. The quinoa was cold and could have used more seasoning. The steak and fries were seasoned well and cooked to medium. They also have outdoor seating, but didn't have any heaters the night we went. I would definitely go back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Came here because it was nearby after 9 at Rock Creek Park. The layout is a cool and classic no-frills bar that's right up my alley. Friendly staff, full but not crowded on Sunday at noon. Guinness hit the spot, breakfast sammy was very good, and the tots hit.

Yelp
went here to watch the super bowl this weekend. they had super bowl specials and i loved my KC chiefs burger. Would come back!

Yelp
Moreland's Tavern is a great place to get good eats and good drinks. It's nestled in between DC neighborhoods of Petworth, Brightwood close to the neighborhood of Manor Park. We took an Uber there and walked home on a nice fall evening, enjoying the stroll to no end. Ok done with all the hoopla of where ya at and how ya got there and got home. We came to Moreland's on the bequest of a friend, who knew a friend who runs this joint in DC they wanted us to check out. Well, it was freaking all that! Or should I say Moreland's is great. This is the epitome of unpretentious bar food at its best. The best part, its right in a neighborhood, which I personally love to know. If I lived by Moreland's, I'd eat and drink here on the regular. Solid tap selection, check. Great service, check. We were ushered in and sat down and ate good. Not sure what more I could ask for. I had the Pork Schnitzel which was outstanding and substantially filling. The lemon aioli sauce they had on the Schnitzel was quite tasty and the Schnitzel was prepared well. I think I could of ate two if it wasn't for dessert. Wife had the veggie burger which was OK. Nothing to rave home to mom about. It could have used some texture balance but hey, you don't eat meat so piss off, Ha Ha! But back to dessert, we had the most decadent flourless chocolate cake with a drizzle of crème something. I could, well I did lick the plate. This is a neighborhood pub/establishment and solidifies the term local. I am beyond delighted we were recommended to come here as we enjoyed a great meal and had great service to boot. If ever in the DC area this would be a place I'd come back to in heartbeat! Cheers to the whole house that rocked out our first visit to Moreland's!

Yelp
We made reservations for inside and I'm glad we did as they seemed to get crowded quickly. The servers were pretty friendly and attentive. Overall the food was good. The BBQ chicken on the poutine was smoky and moist but the gravy seemed more like a loose barbecue sauce than gravy. The fish was light and seasoned but the remoulade and salad were even more tasty. The toasted brioche bun was delicious. The bread pudding was okay, and had less custard than most places. The chocolate in it was delicious and not too sweet. The spicy pineapple margarita was strong and had a subtle pineapple flavor. I also tried the fried green tomatoes, not pictured. The tomatoes score of a 4/5 helped increase the overall rating. The tomatoes were well seasoned and the chipotle aioli was a great addition. I'd return to try more of their menu and appreciate the great location in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Food is very good bar-style food. A nice bar to catch up with friend or watch a game.

Yelp
Excuse my half eaten burger but I forgot to snap a picture because it was so good! Stopped in here for a quick lunch and the Double Smash burger did not disappoint.

Yelp
Delicious main course, good service. I had the breakfast sandwich, and friend had the breakfast tacos. We both enjoyed them. The sandwich had a nice balance of flavors - egg, bacon, maple aioli. Friend said the chorizo in the tacos was spot on! Both meals came with tots, which weren't great, though. Next time, we'll try a different side option.

Yelp
We had dinner with a group of friends last night and Moreland's didn't disappoint, as usual. Our large party was sat at the big table downstairs, and service was excellent. Amanda, our server, introduced herself. Super friendly and helped a couple friends figure out drinks. The manager, Max (?), came by to say hi and dropped off some drinks and food. He checked about a food allergy for one of us, which made us feel more comfortable. Portions were great. My husband's burger was huge and my salmon was cooked perfectly. (I don't know why cooking salmon is hard for some places in DC, but it is!) Good vibes on a rainy night and we saw a few neighbors. Bar was full when we got there and Tara greeted us when we said hi to a friend at the bar, who then joined our table. Love having a neighborhood spot with friendly staff and great food. We'll be back!

David V.

Yelp
Great place. Great service. Rob and Max are the best. Ownership knows and cares. Would give more stars if I could.

Yelp
We were in town for my birthday and this restaurant was within walking distance from the Airbnb. We all ordered tacos or shrimp & grits. Everyone had spiked lemonade. The tacos were great. A bit pricey for 2 tacos but still reasonable. The sauce on the steak tacos was amazing. Very good. The drinks were great. I recommend. The taste of the shrimp and grits was amazing. Service was great. We had Matty as our server and he was very attentive. He checked to ensure we didn't need anything throughout. The only complaint is that grits were watery and there wasn't a lot of shrimp in the grits. There was 3 and the tails were on them. Overall a great experience & would definitely come again.

Yelp
Still a solid choice for a good night out, food that hits the spot, and cold beers. I've been back several times since my first review and remain happy about this place. It's good fare at a fair price.
google avatar

Robert D.

Yelp
It's a popular neighborhood restaurant and very kid friendly. Not a lot of tables so probably good to call ahead. Staff is very friendly. As for food, our child loved the sliders, but the fries not so much mostly because they we not extra crispy. But more for me. For me, I had the Italian sausage spaghetti which was delicious, not overpowered by sauce. Good beer selection too.
google avatar

Denise T.

Yelp
My local neighborhood tavern. I don't drop into this place as much as I'd like to. I always enjoy my cocktail when I visit. Pre-covid I kept promising i'd stop in for trivia, but I haven't ever been able to make it. They change up their menu pretty regularly so there is always something new to try. They make great comfort food. Prices are fair.

Yelp
Came here this past weekend for lunch and was really impressed with their COVId precautions. This was my first attempt dining at a restaurant since quarantine (outdoor seating only) so I was a little weary. I made a reservation for two at noon. In the post lockdown phases, they don't open until noon. Sunday was an extremely hot day and they did a great job of ensuring everyone was seated in shaded or umbrella covered areas. We were greeted immediately and the servers all wore masks. I also observed them clean not only the tables, but the seats as well between every customer! And every table was 6ft or more away from each other. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and my bf ordered the steak sandwich. I also ordered the iced coffee with whiskey. Everything was delicious. Only tidbit, my bf commented that the steak sandwich was smaller than expected. However, the food came out remarkable fast and we enjoyed our meals. The service was also quick and attentive. Overall, Moreland's is doing a great job with putting proper protocols for the current COVID situation, while also still putting out quality food! As this was my first time at a restaurant since quarantine, I am grateful for such a pleasant experience.

Yelp
Great spot to bring your kids right after school. We're part of the 5/5:30 crowd and there's always lots of families. I recommend that smash burger. It's awesome. My kids recommend the chicken tenders and pasta with sauce. Great service staff and friendly place. Good restaurant for families. We can sit, get our food, get the check, and get out of there in 30 mins, which is perfect when half your party is younger than 5.
google avatar

Guy H.

Yelp
I tried calling ahead to get a last minute bite at Moreland's but nobody picked up the first time. When I did get a hold of someone it turns out it was because it was just after the kitchen was due to close - my fault! They still were nice enough to throw in one last order - service is always appreciated. I was a bit underwhelmed with the fried chicken sandwich, although my expectations are usually high in that category. Nice family friendly atmosphere for a tavern. Decent amount of street parking.

Customer B.

Yelp
If you are looking for an informal restaurant, that serves a full glass of beer (no head), a tasty fried chicken sandwich, terrific good sized slice of chocolate cake from friendly waitstaff, neighborhood atmosphere and outdoor seating (if you desire), then this is the place to go! I would suggest making a reservation in advance because it is a popular place.
google avatar

Drew H.

Yelp
Moreland's is one of our favorite places to go out to eat in the Petworth area. When the weather is nice, the outdoor seating can't be beat. The restaurant is very kid friendly, and the mini sliders are always a big hit with the kids. There are a lot of solid menu options but in particular I want to shout out the Lion's Mane Mushroom "Crab" Cake - I'm not vegetarian but I still loved it!

Keith R.

Yelp
All around great food and great staff!! Drinks are made well and the neighborhood folks that frequent, makes it embracing to all!!
google avatar

Rizma W.

Yelp
Great dinner! I ordered the Brussels sprouts and the mac and cheese: warm delicious comfort food that was perfect for a cold and rainy night. The Brussels sprouts were charred beautifully, drizzled with some kind of yogurt sauce, then topped with a light sprinkling of Parmesan cheese. I could have eaten another two or three orders of those. The macaroni and cheese was rich and creamy with three different types of cheeses and sun-dried tomatoes thrown in. Absolutely fantastic. I washed it all down with a piping hot cup of the spiked cider... tasted like autumn in a glass. Comfort food at its finest. An absolutely lovely meal.

Anna R.

Yelp
Moreland's is fantastic. Relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, with really good food (for both brunch and dinner), great service, and affordable prices. Big fan of their patio and upstairs for sports games.

Judith T.

Yelp
This place sits in an area with at least three different cultures within a square block. Yet after coming periodically for at least 3 years, the patrons represent only one culture. Ben, my server, was great. But for the restaurant as a whole: "you reap what you sow" when it comes to clientele and diverse community support and welcome. As an African American woman I have never felt entirely welcome here, unlike most other places from Connecticut Avenue to Georgetown. There's an odd undercurrent that is not pleasant for me and I come back periodically to see if it has changed. Oh yeah - they do have diverse staff. We older folks know how much that counts. Why do I feel dirty when I come here once a year? Maybe because I could walk a few steps to continue to support Highlands or Atxondo where the food is just as good or better and I always feel comfortable and welcome.
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Great neighborhood restaurant and bar that thankfully is surrounded by a big wraparound patio, which allows them to comfortably distance many tables during these socially distanced dining days. After trying them for the first time recently, we were really blown away by their quality. They are definitely underrated. The steak sandwich is flat out spectacular. It's cooked just right and has a char grilled flavor that blew us away. You can choose a side of salad or fries. These fries are some of the best in town. They have the perfect crisp and perfectly seasoned. We even ordered some to go because we were so impressed. The sandwich with fries is $15, which is pretty reasonable for steak. Highly recommended. They have a big list of drinks, too. A steak sandwich with a juicy IPA under the sunset and a pleasant breeze - that's a perfect summer moment. For those reading in September-ish 2020, all staff wore gloves and masks, and no one was allowed to dine inside. If you're feeling ready to eat out again, they're a really good choice.

Yelp
Morelands is the classic neighborhood tavern - food, service, and ambiance are all solid and dependable.

TaNeisha J.

Yelp
Atmosphere: This spot is really cute! The inside is a little small and cozy--with a few tables and a bar. There is seating outside and an outside bar also. Food & Drinks: This review is for the drinks alone as I didn't try any food during this visit. I ordered a classic margarita and so did my sister. Salt on my rim, and sugar on my sis'. Amanda was our bartender and she asked if we liked our margaritas on the sweet or tart side (sweet, please!). The drink was just subpar. Although I didn't care for my drink, Amanda was very friendly, and we talked about the changing neighborhood and where we grew up. I would visit again to try the food (got my eye on the macaroni and cheese), and I will probably update my review, if appropriate.

Yelp
Great service, great food. Had steak tacos and dressed up tater tots and good drinks. Very friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere.

Yelp
For this neighborhood languishing for some decent eateries and watering holes, Moreland's has fulfilled that much needed gaping abyss. The place is filled with regulars already, and the staff and owners (yes! They are around!) are amazingly nice and accommodating! The place is small, but cozy. When you walk into the tavern, you'll see a bunch of tables to your left and the bar on the right. However, there's also a bar upstairs with seating at tables, too. The biggest challenge to this space is the size of the kitchen. They have ironed out opening glitches, and they're pretty well equipped to handle the crowds. However, when they're super busy on the weekends, expect to wait for a table and for your food. There's always some space by a bar, though! So when to go? They have screens so you can watch a game. They have brunch. They have dinner. They have food for kids. They have food for big kids. It's very family friendly, and on the weekend, it's great for brunch and for a late night drink. What's on the menu? Frites. Salad. Steak. French toast. Hash. Egg stuff. Pasta. Brussel sprouts. Burgers. Soup. Sliders. Tacos. A nice eclectic bar and tavern style menu, but it's well done. Plenty of beverages. What is amazing though is the genuine friendliness from the staff. They really hear you and want to help get you what you want. So, when I choose veg items and specify to make them vegan and gluten free- they're totally cool with it! Really, this place is a gem in the Brightwood / 16th Street Heights area north of Petworth. It's just what everyone around here wanted! At last!!! Meet me there!

Ann B.

Yelp
I'd give zero stars. What struggling neighborhood bar suddenly changes their dog policy on patio? We were chastised for not knowing they have that info on ...their voicemail. Yeah. Angry hosts yelling at me for their prejudice is never a winning strategy. He also yelled at the people behind me in line for not pre-ordering a high chair. Your food was always mediocre but you were geographically desirable. Now you are a no-go. Spare yourself the drama and stay away. Postscript. We ended up the street at Denizens Brewery. Dog and kid friendly. Super nice people and a great burger and Chicken wrap. Awesome staff too!
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Love this place! Great local brews, solid food and super kind service. My church choir often comes here for celebrations!

Dominic L.

Yelp
I had a lot of fun at this neighborhood bar. The food was excellent. Wings and the apple tart (?) were delicious. The latter was a regular's recommendation. Can't wait to order those again the next time I'm here. Other food that I saw looked great too. Only thing that disappointed was the pretzel bread. The regulars and crowd in general were all very nice. Definitely a friendly atmosphere. Bar area was crowded that night. They should do a better job sectioning off where the wait staff needs to walk. We kept being in their way, but it seemed like moving a set of trays would've fixed that issue. Or something that would serve as a physical barrier. The bartender and wait staff seemed a little outnumbered. Several orders were either lost or misheard. But there was a private party upstairs so they may have been spread thin. Heard it's great up there too. Lots of street parking on a Friday night, good food, good service. All in all a place I'd go again!

Yelp
Fresh local eats! Loved their to-go options. Food was always hot and ready upon arrival, and prepped within the window frame indicates on the receipt.

Yelp
Quick service, friendly staff, nice ambiance, food is good too. Just wish they had more options. Recommend going

Yelp
The food , service and ambiance were very good. We stopped by after coming from downtown DC celebrating the Biden- Harris win! Definitely will be back!

Yelp
So I starting coming here about two years ago and I try to come pretty regularly. The food, drinks, the people, the ambience never disappoints. Their plant based burger is one of my favorites as well as their strawberry tequila infused cocktail. It is a great place for a solo night, a date or with the fam. Love that I can walk to my favorite neighborhood bar. This is a staple in my community.

Bc C.

Yelp
This is a dive bar that operates with white linen reservation expectations and we could not have been more disappointed. Moreover, things have changed here with management and quality of service. We waited to be seated, they cleared an area, moved us again and then the manager came over to say they basically could not accommodate us. He expressed that they were busy, I asked him what he recommended, his response "go somewhere else" honestly-floored. It is clear that they are comfortable treating customers accordingly, clearly we left. I waited to write this review because I don't like to put energy into fueling experiences where there is blatant disrespect and disregard. I really believe people are entitled to bad days and moments, but it was the cavalier way it all took place and I feel like I read review to understand where my time and money is well spent. In talking with others in the community, they have had similar experiences so recommend going elsewhere until they get better management.

B H.

Yelp
We really liked the location of this restaurant and the overall family atmosphere. The service was very good, as well. However, not one thing we ordered had any flavor. The food was just very disappointing in a way that it didn't need to be. Just add salt. Not that hard. Arancini - completely tasteless. Buffalo wings - could have been cooked more - I can't stand soggy chicken skin. Husband also thought buffalo sauce was weirdly sweet. Pretzel - The only app my 3 year old could eat, but wasn't very tasty and the mustard and pimento cheese dips were weird. Maybe melted cheese would be better? Crispy Half Chicken - no flavor. Needed hot sauce to be edible. Burger - no flavor in the meat at all. And it's a lot of meat, so a lot of no flavor. Kids' chicken tenders and fries - probably the most edible of everything, although the chicken had a frozen taste. Fries were good. Even the spicy pineapple margarita had no spice. Not sure what's going on here - maybe someone in the kitchen who is adverse to seasoning. Not going to work in DC. I'd go back if the food was good because everything else was lovely, but I can't justify it at this time.

Yelp
Best spot in town. Morelands has the perfect neighborhood bar/restaurant feel with friendly staff, lots of repeat locals, and an approachable, but fun rotating menu. We've been regulars since they opened and have been so impressed with the care this business shows their customers and staff. Great spot to catch a game with friends or bring the kids.

Yelp
Consistently great food and excellent service. These are the two things that makes me come back here so often I have lost count. From the hostess to the waiters, you will always feel welcome here. This is a really good neighborhood restaurant easy to walk to and parking on occasion has never been an issue. Now to the food, the Double Smash burger is yummy. Love this neighborhood restaurant.

Yelp
When we made the move from downtown DC to 16th Street Heights, one of my biggest fears was that we would be severely deficient in quality neighborhood restaurants. We shouldn't have been so worried, because soon enough, we discovered Moreland's. Moreland's Tavern is quickly establishing itself as an "it" spot for 16th Street Heights/Brightwood. Service is excellent, it is both extremely kid-friendly and hip at the same time, and the food is really, really good. I've come for family dinner (they open for dinner at 4 which is spectacular if you are running on toddler time!), date night, and girls' night out, and Moreland's delivers for all those situations. So far I've devoured the beet salad, the pork belly tacos, the portobello tacos (waaay tastier than it sounds!), and the steak frites (I mean, you can't really go wrong with this dish). The kid's menu (which is tucked into children's books - absolutely genius!) has pretty standard fare...chicken tenders, burger and fries, spaghetti and meatballs, etc. My recommendation is to go for the chicken tenders and completely skip the mac and cheese. Both of my girls wanted nothing to do with that dish, and it is the one culinary misstep we have experienced. It is basically buttered shells with a shaving of (rather flavorless) cheese on top. Neither my husband nor I even wanted it, so I'm curious as to why such a bland dish is on an otherwise excellent menu. Brunch is rumored to be fabulous and I look forward to giving that a try sometime soon. And they have trivia nights! There's something for everyone here, and I'm so glad to live nearby.
