Portillo’s & Chain present a Chicago Hot Dog High Tea pop-up | Eater Chicago

"The West Loop event space at 401 N. Morgan Street, Suite No. 100 is hosting A Hot Dog High Tea on Wednesday, March 26 with seatings at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.; waitlist registration is required. The on-site experience is a timed, 30-minute afternoon-tea format in which each guest receives a tiered tea tower stacked with bite-sized, gourmet versions of classic Chicago street-food items (a Chicago-style dog, mini Italian Beef with Jameson Black Barrel–marinated ribeye and truffle-infused giardiniera, a milk-bread tea sandwich version of the chicken chopped salad with smoked chicken thighs in Jameson Black Barrel barbecue sauce, a savory pizzelle sandwich using the chain’s crinkle fries and tomato jam, and the chain’s popular chocolate cake drizzled with whiskey caramel glaze). The event is 21+ and includes tastings of Jameson Irish whiskey cocktails developed by Thunderbolt." - Serena Maria Daniels

As a wedding photographer, I absolutely love working at Morgan Manufacturing. The industrial-chic aesthetic, combined with their soaring ceilings, exposed brick, and stunning natural light, creates a dream backdrop for photos. The team is professional, attentive, and always goes above and beyond to make sure the day runs seamlessly—not just for the couple, but for all the vendors involved. Their spacious layout allows for endless creative possibilities, from gorgeous first looks to breathtaking reception shots. I also appreciate how smoothly they handle timelines and coordination, which makes my job so much easier and lets me focus on capturing authentic moments. If you're a couple searching for a unique, stylish venue in Chicago that photographs beautifully and is backed by an incredible staff, I can’t recommend Morgan Manufacturing enough.

We had our wedding at Morgan MFG and couldn't imagine having it anywhere else. We loved the industrial feel and that we had total freedom to customize the space however we wanted. The adjoining dancefloor was a perfect bonus for the afterparty, and the cocktails were great (and without the long lines we experience at basically every other wedding). Megan was terrific to work with throughout the entire process -- would highly recommend to all prospective couples!

Google
My first visit to a Renegade Craft Fair and I had a blast! The location was so accessible, and there was unlimited free coffee at the entrance. It was pretty crowded but I got to keep moving. The first floor was strictly craft items while the second floor had mostly food and beverage vendors. Got some fun stuff, especially a sewn portrait that was done live by @sewnportraits. Definitely a highlight of my time there, and discovered so many amazing artists. 🧵

Google
I spent a rediculase amount of money for some food I had to fright seating to eat. And the drinks were included but so strong it was hard to drink. DJ was Mid. For paying for VIP it’s not work it. Barely worth it for general admission. There was no decorations and dollar store hated and horns. The food was alright. No outside space to smoke. Was not worth the event

Google
This is a really cool venue space for corporate events. The theme when I went was the Prohibition era and it was super fun. The actors were all great and the space was massive so you could walk around and find all sorts of different things going on in different parts of the rooms. Really well put together and had a great time.

Google
Beautiful, spacious event space in a part of town the typical tourist may not go. The staff are all terrific and I am real lucky to have had a chance to see the space. The set up and entertainment was very creative which made the experience that much better.

Google
Very crazy fun even at Morgan MFG Loco Bingo! Very well organized. We were lucky to find parking right by the venue. A little bit expensive $20, but right by the entrance.

Google
I've been here several times for a variety of different events. Most recently for the "Under A Blue Moon" a food and beer event sponsored by Blue Moon beer. From weddings, to liquor presentations, this space can be dressed up or the wonderful industrial features of the building can be featured. It has 6 wonderful skylights that illuminate the room naturally. This is a large open space that used to be a manufacturing facility. The "bare bones" of the building also serve as a wonderful backdrop for a lot of these events. The space can be divided into smaller rooms or used as one large room like they did when Cochon555 was held here. As far as parking, they do have a small parking lot in front, but, you should be able to find free street parking nearby. Some of the best events in the city have occured here and I am looking forward to the next one.

Yelp
As soon as I thought speakeasies as a trend were out of style, Morgan MFG and our private event planners did an excellent job turing the venue into an engaging, multi-sensory experience. While a ways away from the city, especially if you're visiting for work, its worth the drive. Surprisingly bigger than we expected, as we felt fully immersed into the world they created.

Yelp
Very nice venue. I have been here twice one time during the NBA All Star and a Scholarship Fundraiser. This place is huge the staff were accommodating and the location was clean. Unless you're street parking they have valet. I would love to have an event here.

Yelp
I have been to this awesome west loop/Fulton Market space on about 5 occasions for different reasons. 2 times for Art, Beats & Life which had one of my favorite rappers Scarface performing, a law fundraisers, Jack Daniels event and most recently the CIMA holiday party. Very big space with 2 floors! Sound system is pretty good as you can hear the music/performers very clear anywhere in the venue. If you're having an event that includes 1000+ people, wedding, mass tastings; this is your place to hit!

Yelp
Located a few blocks from the Green Line Morgan stop, this intimate and warm market is filled with holiday gift ideas. There are several small business owners and artisans selling their unique and interesting holiday ideas. The prices are a bit pricey but how can you put a price on a unique gift and still support the small business community? There are arts and crafts classes, food, clothing, jewelry, and candles. The market offers free water and free eye brow penciling. Kids can have free colorung books and snacks. Theres parking. Come early and spend the morning finding unique gifts.

Yelp
Super cool venue! I was told they used to manufacture roller coasters there way back before it became a trendy banquet party spot. If that is true and not Chicago urban legend, that makes Morgan MFG a super cool maybe even a romantic venue. Who doesn't like rich Chicago history and how can you not love roller coasters? In my top 5 best Ladies Rooms of Chicago. Spacious, well lit and private. Many mirrors and details. The food was great. It was set up as mini buffet stations of around the world fair. One area was Asian food with Ramen and sushi, another was Italian with pastas and flatbread pizzas. There was more exotic fare as well, but I failed to take good notes. Bars were well staffed and had good options. Staff was professional and polite.

Yelp
I've been to this being you several times because it is known for hosting some of the hottest events in Chicago One of my favorite event that was hosted here was actually the Lexus event and they rolled out the red carpet and was very nice and very well organized On this visit it was actually an art fusion with great hits and Jack Daniel's Honey liquor I'm not a big fan of dark liquor at all but I was able to find something that fit me which was the Honey Jack Daniels mixed with lemonade and a few more items it was right up my alley it was very sweet then have a big kick and it kept me mellow the rest of the night This venue is huge it can have several thousands of people in this particular night it was filled with art lovers and brown liquor Enthusiast and people just looking for a nice free time on a Friday freezing night in Chicago Lots of people but there was no drama many many photo-ops even the bathroom is magnificent it had a huge plush ottoman or all the girls were taking selfies and relaxing are aching feet and huge illuminated ceiling over 20 stalls when no one was waiting enough sinks and mirrors for you to get all dolled up and back out there until the excitement I would definitely come to another event here

Yelp
Space is cool. Food was good. Service was friendly but very, very sporadic. Especially when it came to the dessert/coffee portion of the meal and wine service throughout the meal. Came here for a 500+ person event recently. The space is awesome. The location is great. The bathrooms are huge and clean. The service folks were friendly. All and all the place seemed a bit off though. I hope next years event is either in a better location or Morgan gets their act together a bit more.

Yelp
This event space is huge! Came here for a fundraising event. They advertise as "industrial elegance" and I would agree. There's a downtown warehouse cool vibe going on. The event I attended took place solely in the Production area which apparently can accommodate up to 700 people standing. In the middle of the space is a skylight window which is a nice touch. The acoustics are great so if you're planning a speech, etc. that might be helpful to know. Sound system is loud. The sheer size of the space might make decor a task but if you're up for a challenge, it's the type of space that can be completely transformed. The bathroom (at least on the ladies side) is really nice. The location is a little remote but that's why Uber comes in handy.

Francesca R.

Yelp
We wanted a venue that we would be able to transform into our dream wedding and Morgan gave us just that. We were always looking for a warehouse, modern vibe so that we could add romantic details. We loved having our family portraits, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and dance party all in one place. It was the perfect size and allows you to be as creative as you want to be with decor. They were accommodating to us and our family and we couldn't be more grateful for that. If we had to do our wedding over again (and we wish we could because it was perfect) we'd choose Morgan every time. Thank you Donna and team for everything!

Harshita P.

Yelp
I had the opportunity to go to a wedding/reception here recently and loved it! The place definitely has a modern feel to it, with the location and interior usage of brick walls and even the outside. It's a very industrial ambience but with the right decor you can transform it into anything you want. It's a very big spacious area, and has enough room so no one will congested. The people who set up this place specially for the reception went above and beyond making it really romantic and set the tone for the night. The glass ceilings above also shed some more sunlight into the room creating even more of an open space. The bathrooms in this place are really what were the highlight. The women's bathroom has a ceiling chandelier that looks like fireworks frozen in midair and is breathtaking! The bathroom itself is very big but the decor in it was beautiful. Definitely a place to rent due to it's location and space, check out for your next event!

Yelp
What a weekend it has been for team @C2detail Events. Event #2. We had the pleasure of designing the Jones College Prep prom at the @MorganMFG in Chicago. Yelp
I was here for Holidose. This venue is huge! For the Dose Market Holiday themed event it had what I would say had to be hundreds of vendors. Food, clothes, drinks, pictures, hats, gloves, more food, you name it. I am not sure what the history of this building is but it is really unique. The layout is open with several different spaces sectioned off by some walls and alternate levels. It gives the feel of an old manufacturing space with a modern update. It does a good job of letting in light where it was needed and keeping it dark where they wanted. Apparently the bathrooms were very nice too. The space fit for Dose and I would come back here for an event in the future.
google avatar

Sara H.

Yelp
Beautiful event space in the conveniently located West Loop. The industrial fixtures and dark cement floors pair perfectly with the brick walls giving for an urban loft feel. I've been to multiple events here and every time the space is completely transformed to fit the specific events theme. It's huge, and it's nice that they can section the area off pretty well, separating your bar from dance floor if you choose. Not many people know, but there's also an AMAZING rooftop here. Be sure to sneak up to the very top for some of the best 360 views of the city.
google avatar

Yelp
Great event space and friendly staff... good food.. Dissappointing that they have no cabs there and ubers are challenged to find the place. I stood outside for a while alone in the dark waiting. It was not appealing. :(

Yelp
Held a fundraising speaker event here on a weeknight. Morgan MFG was a great space that fit our show flow quite nicely. Working with them ahead of time was incredibly easy and the flow of our event went really well with their input. Their suggestions on how to set up were mostly on point, and were able to help make some slight adjustments day-of as well. Looking forward to holding another event there in the future!
google avatar

Hilary L.

Yelp
Morgan MFG was absolutely fantastic! We worked mostly closely with Ann, who helped to coordinate our whole day. The space itself is breathtaking - raw, industrial, but somehow still warm. The guidance they provided helped our day to be seamless. Not only did they help to coordinate items related to the venue, but they provided excellent recommendations for catering and day-of planning. I could not be more happy with Morgan MFG and strongly recommend the space to everyone - such a seamless and enjoyable experience!
google avatar

Tavi J.

Yelp
I went here for an event. The space size is decent. I like how they were able to divide up the room between the bar area, game area, photo area, and stage. Plenty of room and I was able to find near by free parking.
google avatar

Romana Y.

Yelp
Great venue for large parties. Food and libations were plentiful, and service/ambiance was superb.

Ashani G.

Yelp
This venue is phenomenal!! Everyone on their team is extremely professional, organized, and they care deeply about the success of the event. They are all experienced hopspitality professionals and know what they are doing. The space is a beautiful open floorplan so there's tons of space to get creative with set-up and build your event, as well as back areas if you need to store extra items that you don't want in the main space. If you are looking for a cool alternative atmosphere for your next corporate event or party I would 10/10 recommend Morgan Manufacturing.

Gabriella C.

Yelp
My family and planner helped us choose Morgan Manufacturing as the venue for my husband Zack and I's wedding March 2020. We cannot thank them enough for making our special day perfect. The space is stunning, drinks were on-point, and the Morgan team was incredible. Guests all night were raving about the venue and the impeccable service staff. Even in light of the coronavirus hysteria, they handled all accommodations with grace, professionalism, and ease. I recommend as highly as I possibly can to all who are planning events in the coming years.

Yelp
A+ pimped out industrial chic event space. Large space has multiple venues for anything from weddings to corporate parties, lectures. Brick walls, wood beam ceilings and metal pillars/industrial doors, tinted concrete floors. Large and more intimate private bar areas and lounges through out provide a variety of flexible space options. Parking lot provides easy self or valet parking. Large industrial windows and skylights provide great light in certain areas while other areas are dark and intimate.
google avatar

Annette J.

Yelp
Another great space for all type's of events ,meetings ,catered space, celebrating or just Network.
google avatar

Mallory B.

Yelp
This is a HUGE really fun event space, with the wooden beam/industrial open look that is very trendy right now. The space looks amazing at night, with the low lighting and Christmas lights can be hung to make things cute and pinteresty. In the largest space, the bars are located on the outer corners and were able to manage crowds well/avoid getting backed up because they were not all in one spot. However, depending on capacity size, the passed appetizers hardly made it to the side of the room opposite of the Kitchen. This seems like an easy fix. Additionally, there were issues with coat check, who I noticed taking racks of coats OUTSIDE because their allotted coat room was full. When I went to retrieve mine, I had to wait a while...and it was not pleasant to put on (cold).
google avatar

Danny W.

Yelp
I came here for the NOURISH Celebrity Chef Ball last weekend and was really impressed with this West Loop event space. It's new...like website not up yet new, so you'll have to know someone or do some serious Sherlocking if you want to try to book it at this point. Of course it's kinda tough to tell what all comes with a booking since I was there for an event, but it's spacious, has very nice bathrooms, and three different floors of which you can do whatever your wildest dreams can come up with. Looking forward to seeing what other cool stuff can get a hold of them.
google avatar

Bethany H.

Yelp
Attended Nourish event fundraiser for Meals on Wheels tonight and while the venue and event itself was very nice the valet was terrible. We waited over 45 minutes for our car after we decided to leave the event early to beat the coat-check and valet rush. Many individuals were asking for their keys so they could go retrieve the cars themselves. Valet was unorganized and chaotic. Not a fun way to end the evening.
google avatar

Marcus G.

Yelp
Went here twice for two different company parties and the space is top of the line for big events. The food is good and the layout is just right for large crowds.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
I came here last night for the CIMA holiday party. It was a beautiful venue and seemed clean and well organized!
google avatar

Autumn W.

Yelp
I viewed the space as a possible contender for a large event (700-900 people) that i am assisting with. I love the shiny, earthly looking, painted concrete floors throughout the venue and was really happy with the lighting and options to close of sections of the venue to make the space more functional for us. The price is a bit higher then we were hoping for but in comp. to other venues we were considering it is the largest and had the best layout. I really like the dual bars and the bathrooms are huge. The space would also be great for a halloween party and the smaller portion of the venue would be really great for a wedding. The one drawback is the small parking lot and not having a parking garage nearby, but they do offer VIP Valet if you want to hire them for the event.

Sandra J.

Yelp
Horrible venue to have an event. Attended a wedding there and the staff was rude to several of our guests. Parking is horrible. Facility was cold. A big thumbs down!
