Morgan's Ice Cream

My fiancé and I are ice cream connoisseurs and so we’ve been trying to find the best ice cream place in Fort Worth. Every place we have tried so far has been subpar, but Morgan’s ice cream was unique and delicious. He rated the cookies and cream a 4/5. I rated the chocolate cookie dough a 4.8/5. We may even have them cater ice cream to our wedding! Give Morgan’s a try.

The service here is amazing, very friendly and so incredibly knowledgeable. I visited on a Monday at 4:30 PM. The building is small with not much seating. But there was plenty of room for me and the couple of customers in the building. I love fall flavors and selected the pumpkin brown butter molasses cookie dough and salted maple walnut ice cream. I was a bit nervous because they do not do samples at the store to taste the flavors ,but talking with the employee about the flavors helped. The salted maple walnut was my favorite flavor. both selections were not too sweet and we’re perfectly creamy. I think I will brave the crowds for their fill your stainless cup event on October 16.

Cute ice cream shop and friendly service. They don't allow you to sample ice cream. I was told I could get a scoop of their best sellers the strawberry magic and cookie monster. If I didn't like them, I could choose something else. I didn't want to waste two scoops of ice cream. I selected the cookies, cookies, & cream and enjoyed it. Note: Learned there's a cowtown cycle party in the area while attending this event. Looked fun!

The friendly, attentive, staff greeted me as soon as I walked in and, since I was new, handed me a menu that included their standard and special addition flavors. The Ice Cream was delicious, especially the vegan, gluten free Fudged Up Cookie Dough. It was creamy and delicious, I never would have guessed it Vegan! If I’m ever in town again I’ll be sure to stop by for another two scoops!

Went there with my mom, the ice cream was good. Didnt like the fact that they don’t let you try the flavors… the girl said if I didn’t like the flavor i picked I could just get another ice cream and throw that one away, but I’m not a very wasteful person so I stuck to my flavors even though I wasn’t crazy about what I had picked… oh well

The key lime was more like cake, I was expecting a nice lime punch flavor but I could barley taste the lime. They will not allow samples. And they were out of a lot of options. We bought a pint of something they were out of and asked if they could use the scooper to put in cones we also purchased, but they said no. There’s just so many other really nice, clean and in stock options in town especially if you’re going to pay $6 a scoop.

Amazing ice cream. Unique flavors and fun staff working here! We tried the Cookie Monster and strawberry magic! Also not showing in my photo but also tried the Wookies cookies flavor and none of them disappointed!!! You won’t go back to any other Fort Worth ice cream place once you try it!

The ice cream is awesome. However, on my visit on Mother’s Day, I was told I got the last waffle cone. I had to see my mother not get what she wanted. We left and we came back in 10 minutes later with my sister and saw that there were many cones available. It is disappointing to see this poor service thinking considering it didn’t take that long to make more cones.

I love this place! It smells like waffle cones ! This is definitely my favorite south side ice cream shop !! They have great flavors and add monthly flavors as well! I love grabbing a waffle cone or affagotto and walking around South Main. The service is outstanding and they always greet you with a smile !! You can bring a mug in and have it filled with ice cream or get a flight !

This is a cute little shop, very simple and tucked in a strip of other shops surrounded by several popular restaurants. They don't offer seating, which I think is a bummer, considering it would be a perfect little stop during the summer/hot months. That's for those, who enjoy their ice cream and visit the area and their shop frequently. For the reasons below, I wish they offered samples. The idea of getting a full-serving, just to throw it out for something else with the potential of repeating; was something I felt was wasteful and made no sense. As a customer, if that didn't make sense, I can't imagine how it made sense to the owner. Ice Cream: Pumpkin Brown Butter Molasses Cookie Dough: Again, being that we aren't able to sample, I tried to get something I thought I would enjoy. I love pumpkin cheesecake ice cream, so I took a chance with the pumpkin brown on a waffle cone. The first couple of bites were okay, but I didn't want to waste a full serving of ice cream by choosing another flavor. Possibly because it was gluten-free, I found it to be gritty and it had an undesirable texture. Cookie Monster: I tasted this, the bite I sampled, tasted okay. My partner said he enjoyed it. Overall, I don't think I will visit this establishment again, but I'm happy I was able to visit. I do know several people who enjoy Vegan/Gluten Free foods and for them, this will be the perfect ice cream shop! Also, if you go during the warmer days, be careful. As soon as you step outside, your ice cream will quickly melt. I'd suggest you get your serving in a cup/bowl and not a cone. The customer service was pleasant and I found the prices to be a bit higher than some other places (Braums), however, this is a specialty shop, so the higher prices are understood.

We noticed Morgan's after enjoying the Yelp Elite event at Buena Vida a little while back but felt like we should have stopped in at the time. We were very excited when Morgan's offered their own Elite opportunity! We decided to make it an evening by stopping at Buena Vida for dinner (we LOVE their food) and Morgan's for dessert. There was a steady stream of customers walking in and out before we arrived as well as a couple on a bench outside enjoying their ice cream. When we walked in, we were greeted immediately by a very nice young lady and it appeared she had two friends hanging out with her in the shop. The shop is very small so it felt a bit awkward. Their flavors are not your typical choices, so not being able to sample is a huge downer. I enjoyed the seasonal flavor I tried, but my husband did not care for Cookie Monster and wished he had been allowed to sample it first.

For the record, Morgan's doesn't open until noon. I showed up on Friday, but was too early. So I came back today - YAY! I got the honey on the waffle and it was fantastically delicious. Lots of flavors and combinations to choose from. I even bought an extra pint of the maple walnut to bring home. This shoppe is clean and cutely decorated. Fast and friendly service. This hit the spot!! Let your tastebuds decide.

After a bar hopping Near Southside, Morgan's Ice Cream was the perfect spot to end the night. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles and hellos. There were a few people in front of us and coming in behind us. So you knew the ice cream was going to be good. They offered very unique custom flavors and everything was delicious and soooo creamy. Will definitely be back to try more!

Pumpkin browned butter molasses cookie dough...... need I say more? Great little spot on the Southside to stop for a sweet treat. Enjoy unique flavors with the creamiest ice cream around! I always love their seasonal flavors.

Tried the fudged up brownie and it had massive pieces of brownie in it. I was pleasantly surprised. I would rate it a 10/10 for sure. I can't wait to try out more of their flavors. It's a great treat after eating at one of the numerous restaurants on the same block.

Ice cream in Texas is essential, and Morgan's takes care of their customers! I loved the flavor options, especially the new seasonal flavors for fall like pumpkin, apple and more! Service was great, Valentina was so kind! They have several types of cones, including homemade waffle cones that I highly recommend. I loved my brownie ice cream, and next time I'm excited to try the affogato option to add cold brew to any scoop! Great spot in Fort Worth

This location is located in an up and coming neighborhood of Fort Worth! I'm excited for them to be able to experience the booming area! The store is small but just enough room to get what you need and enjoy the rest of the area! Lots of things to do surrounding them. They don't do samples so that was kind of disappointing! I wanted to try them all!! I ended up selecting strawberry magic which was pretty delicious but the butter cake was a weird texture! Still not sure how to feel about it, but I'm still leaning towards a positive vibe on it due to the strawberry taste was really strong and it was very creamy! The worker was very sweet to suggest the ice cream that she liked in detail so I appreciate her for helping making my selection a lot easier! I gotta come back again though to try everything else and I can't wait!

Morgan's is a nice spot on S. main to be able to get a dessert either before stopping somewhere like the Coupe or Tarantula; or after getting dinner at somewhere like Buena Vida or Bearded Lady. They have about 6-8 ish regular flavors and about 4 seasonal flavors. My wife likes their summer flavors more than their fall flavors; like their banana one; but we need to go try them out for their winter ones.

If you have a sweet tooth this is your spot. Ordered a caramel apple pie scoop.it was more caramel cinnamon than apple flavored but it was still good. It is a bit on the sweet side. The service was quick and fast. It's a small shop...

Small, simple ice cream place near UT SOUTHWESTERN Moncrief clinic. Parking was tricky, which was the biggest downside! Unless you work nearby or happen to be in the area, it would be a hassle to drive just to go to Morgan's. Very simple interior, not very busy at lunch time. Relatively smaller flavor options compared to big Chain ice cream places. The cookies & cream was creamy, smooth, & not overwhelmingly sweet. Ok portion-size. I enjoyed my one scoop, but it is pricey. $4.75 for one scoop in a cup, $1.5 extra for waffle bowl, $1 extra for a cone.

Friendly service, no table seating, and no samples, but they will make you another scoop of something different if you didn't like your first option. They also have vegan and gluten free options. I got one of their monthly flavors which was caramel apple pie and the fudged up brownie in a cone. My friend ordered an affogato with vanilla ice cream and her daughter got their cookies, cookies and cream in a cone. We all liked that it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet or heavy. My favorite was the fudged up brownie, the caramel apple pie did not wow me, and my cone was stale and made so thin. Thankfully I was given a cup just in case. My friend's affogato, though she appreciated it being filled to the top, it would spill even when they handed it to her it spilled right away and it was difficult to scoop the ice cream without the coffee dripping everywhere. Her daughter enjoyed the taste of her ice cream but said there was just too much cookie and not enough ice cream, literally had mainly whole cookies and the cookie to ice cream ratio were unsatisfying. I would recommend giving it a try if you've never been and you're in the area.

Had a scoop of brownie fudge for the Yelp Elite activity. The ice cream was mind blowingly good. It wasn't so sweet that I felt palpitations, and the mix of textures was very appealing. Excellent product.

Post Covid review.... We love this place and usually stop here anytime we dine in the near south side for dessert. Everything we have had here has been top notch. Every flavor... cone, cup, or shake excellent. I'm glad to have them within walking distance so I can walk there to earn my ice cream!! Lol

Friendly service. Cute, small store area. Molly was patient and explained their selective menu. Unfortunately two of their seasonal flavors were already sold out but the honey vanilla was light and just sweet enough for this warm 80's afternoon.

My little family stopped in this evening to finally try Morgan's Ice Cream! The sweet girl working was so welcoming when she asked if we've been in before. She gave us a rundown of the flavors (which are staples and which are seasonal). I got the brownie fudge ice cream for my little, the seasonal salted maple walnut for the husband, and the wookies cookies for myself. The cone was a little on the brittle side which caused for a messy dessert towards the end, however, the ice cream itself was DELICIOUS. The bits of oatmeal cookies in my ice cream was a sweet treat in every bite, my husband's salted maple walnut wasn't overwhelmingly sweet -just the right amount. Obviously, my toddler LOVED the chocolate ice cream even if it had rocks. We'll definitely be back!

I had delicious vegan and gluten free salted caramel shortbread fudge in a waffle bowl. It wasn't too sweet and had the perfect amount of salt and I liked the little surprises of shortbread bar pieces mixed in. I think that took it to another level. It's one of the flavors for January so if you love salted caramel, I suggest you go to Morgan's to get a scoop! My husband had the fudged up brownie and the mint chip. I got to taste both of them and both had really good flavors. It's amazing to me how these can be sweet, but also in a way, savory. I don't know how they do it. Mint chip is another flavor of the month and it's also vegan and gluten free. I don't know how or with what the ice cream was dyed with in order to get that signature light green look, but the ice cream was dyed naturally. We ended up getting a pint of what I assume was a flavor of December because it was winter mint fudge, which they don't have on the menu anymore. The fudge is so decadent, but the mint really holds it down. The person at the counter was super nice even though it was close to closing time and it's such a cute store front. There's plenty of free parking on the street. I would definitely come here again. I'm excited to see what flavors they have for February.

Morgan's delivers high quality ice cream in a cute and convenient location in Fort Worth. The girl working behind the counter was patient while my sister and I tried to choose what flavor we wanted. She also suggested the most popular flavors to try as well. I tried the Cookie Monster and it was so good! My sister tried the fudged up cookie dough. She liked it but wished she would've got the same flavor as me. The prices are a little high, but I will say they did not skimp on the quality of their ice cream. I would definitely return once it's warmer outside!

So many great and unique flavors to choose from. I got the Cookie Monster, which has everything I want in my ice cream from chunks of cookie dough to brownie. Definitely a delicious choice!

Sorry for the lack of pictures, these kinds of things disappear so quickly! :) Of the three times I've been, I've not had a flavor less than delish - but I have to say the overall experience would be much better if they allowed for tasting samples, mainly because their flavors are ever-shifting. That said, they did assure me if I didn't like it they would make something else. And I thought, well, that's true confidence in product - so why not try something, it's not going to be 'that' big a risk. Though if I didn't like it, what a waste of a double scoop! The other side of that argument is they are conserving on plastic (lil spoons), and less potential contamination (health codes). This time around I got a pint of 'Maple Blondie' ($11). It's quite tasty, kind of a cross between Autumn + warm cake and something buttery. I can't remember what I've had in the past, but I'm sure it was ooey gooey style caramel or similar. I've had better ice cream here and there over the years, but only by a smidge honestly. I think this is a gem in Ft. Worth's crown.

I will start coming here more often i went inside felt like eating a ice scream. I got a cookies and cream cone it was delicious. But i also asked for a sample of there cookie monster flavor. Lets just say i had to buy a pint to go it was so good.

The ice cream here was great! The people were very friendly and it definitely gave off a small town feel. Someone I was with managed to make a mess and they went above and beyond to help out! The ice cream was also pretty good! The only I would add is there were aspects of the store where the store seemed bland. I'd definitely recommend this for a place to finish off your meal with a dessert!!

Morgan's is worse than any decent pint for half the price at the grocery store. They don't let you sample but will remake your order if you don't like what you figured you may. Their cones SUCK! Either I got a stale cone that was way too hard and bitter or that's just the standard. Why would they serve stale cone though? As far as ice cream, you can go to any Central Market or Whole Foods in the area and find much better for cheaper. Morgan's has nothing to write home about.

The ice cream flavors were out of this world! They offer a 4 mini scoop ice cream flight. If you're unsure which flavors to choose from. Also seasonal flavors are available. My favorite is the Aloha Baby, vanilla ice cream with pineapple and bits of cake all mixed in!

The Wookiee cookie ice cream is amazing! Small little hole in the wall, but clean! Staff were courteous and fast! Highly recommend!

The BEST! Nothing comes close to this ice cream. We tried the Strawberry Magic, vanilla & Key Lime Pie. You can taste the homemade-ness lol. Very clean & friendly service too.

SO YUMMY! First time trying this place yesterday and loved the Cookie Monster scoop. My friend and I loved our orders and will definitely be back. The worker was so kind to help us pick out flavors and was very efficient with a long like building up. We sat in the cute shop after to enjoy the ice cream! Highly recommend!

The coolest, sweetest spot.. And so vital in this insane heat wave. You gotta have a reliable ice cream place.. maybe this could be yours. The staff is so kind and the product is stellar. Morgan's is tiny but bright and airy. There are a few seats inside and a counter to order at, and not much else. It'll fill up fast on a hot day (which is every day), sometimes with a line out the door, but it moves along quickly and the ice cream is yum. They have an eclectic variety of flavors including plenty that are dairy free, vegan, and gluten free -- and not just some boring sherbet or plain vanilla in a cup -- flavors like lime cheesecake with gluten free graham crackers, a gluten free cookie dough, even a gluten free cone option! They also have vegan whipped cream and marshmallows, etc. It's a super thoughtful menu. Here's their everyday flavors right now: Honey, Not So Vanilla (GF): simple & pure, a honey and vanilla bean sweet cream ice cream! This flavor is anything but vanilla. Wookies Cookies: a fan favorite! Cinnamon sweet cream ice cream with decadent chocolate shavings & crumbled oatmeal cookies. I initially was thinking I wouldn't be able to actually eat the ice cream because I can't have dairy; however, I noticed a few vegan choices on the menu! I went with the Fudged Up Cookie Dough, it's made with coconut milk. I didn't think it would taste as good as it did. I liked the texture of it too. The entryway is small and when more people lined up behind me the line wrapped around. But everyone had patience and we're happy for a cold treat on such a hot Texas day! Parking is good, there's spaces leading up to Morgan's and past it. There's sidewalks so you can take a stroll while enjoying your scoop.

Fantastic ice cream and fabulous service. We took a little road trip to Forth Worth and it was most certainly worth it! One of the best ice cream flavors I've ever had and my friend who had children with food allergies and followed a gluten free lifestyle was super impressed with the gluten free variety and how delicious it was. She said she was coming back with her entirely family the very next day! That's awesome! Go see them and see what's up. Really really amazing! Such a great idea to cool off in this heat! I chose the Wookies Cookies flavor and it was jam packed with delight and deliciousness! Pretty dang gooooody! My friend chose the Key Lime cheesecake and she really enjoyed it!

The ice cream was so fresh and creamy. My friend and I both got a scoop of the wookies cookies. It was the perfect taste of cinnamon and chocolate. I definitely would want to come back and try other items and the flavors are seasonal so be prepared that they may not have what was posted. It is a small shop and there is ample parking. It was a nice spot to grab dessert after dinner even though we went after lunch and before heading back home. Service matched this humble spot and it is definitely worth a try.

I received a free scoop today (elite) and it was wonderful. I got honey vanilla in a cup. My husband tried same in a waffle cone. The ice cream was creamy yet firm if that makes sense. (Some homemade ice creams are too mushy) the scoop size is just right-didn't feel like I ate too much, but enough to satisfy a sweet craving. There were a few July flavors I would consider trying (salted caramel/lime cheesecake) but for my first visit, went with vanilla. They have add-ons also. The waffle cone was fresh & crisp. Will definitely be going back.

Great ice cream! Very thick texture which is my favorite. I got the Best Day Ever- coffee flavor (pictured). This is one of their April flavors. It definitely had a good coffee flavor but I enjoyed the flavors my boyfriend got much more which were Strawberry Magic and Fudged Up Brownie. But the Strawberry Magic was amazing, creamy and real tasting strawberry flavor. The employee working the late shift was very nice! Not getting a 5 stars for parking, no samples, and toppings costing extra. Also there isn't anywhere to sit and eat but the location is a good place to walk around and enjoy.

This place is so cute and delicious! I'm so sad that I lost the pictures I gave to post of this place. They didn't let me sample before picking out but they told me if I didn't like it they would replace it... which I didn't really care for. That can be intimidating for some to complain for something they ordered. The ice cream melts fast so I don't know if I recommend the waffle cone, but it taste so good! So I'd somehow try to combine a cup and a waffle so it doesn't get everywhere! It's definitely good enough for me to come back ;)

The location is small. As others have mentioned, there are a few benches to sit and enjoy the ice cream. More importantly, the air condition was cranked up to comfortably cool the interior. Since they use sweet cream as a base, their ice cream may not be to everyone's taste buds. On my first bite of the Fudged Up Brownie, the taste of the chocolate in the ice cream was definitely lighter compared to normal chocolate ice cream, more like milk chocolate rather than dark chocolate. The brownie pieces won me over as I was chewing on chocolate chips with almost every bite.

Morgan's is a quaint ice cream shop with a small town vibe yet new and inspired flavors. I went to the downtown Fort Worth location. It's always hard to find parking but so glad I did so I could enjoy this cold treat. The inside is small, not really seating for many to enjoy their treats, but mid day we were able to sit. Service was good-friendly and quick. I order the Fudged Up Brownie and my husband ordered the Honey Not so Vanilla. Both of these were great. Mine was smooth chocolate with giant pieces of fudge brownie just as described. My husbands was surprisingly refreshing with a vanilla honey flavor that was not overly sweet or overwhelming. We would absolutely order those again but with so many other great choice it might be a while before we get back to them. Morgan's is a small town gem. Looking forward to trying their other flavors and seeing their other locations.

How do you "run out" of ice cream cones when that's like your whole deal (making fresh waffle cones). On a Friday. At 7 pm. In the summer. . That's like going to the ramen shop and they're like "OOPS we have noodles but no broth. 'We ran out'". Just noodles for you! That's like the Cowboys saying "oops!" We ran out of cleats at the start of the season. Barefoot it is! Or Whataburger at 8am running out of honey butter chicken biscuits. Like that's the worst time to "run out" (didn't feel like making it? Out of ingredients?) of anything. Ice cream is good of course. Went 9/1/23.

I stopped in last week to grab my husband a treat. He loves strawberry ice cream, I normally don't like strawberry flavored food. I got him the strawberry magic. This ice cream was the best I've ever had. I ate half the pint. I cannot wait to try more flavors. This is our new favorite ice cream / dessert place in Fort Worth.

Stopped in to beat the heat! Unusual flavors all sounded delicious so I got two. The key lime pie is a lightly citrusy, creamy gelato-ish creation with bits of the pie, as advertised. My chocolate brownie was, also, as advertised. Very rich, creamy, and chewy with brownie bits and chocolate chips. So good. The composition and the temp of the ice cream is so perfect they were easy to spoon but didn't begin to melt even in the heat. Staff was friendly and helpful. The store is small, clean, and basic. There are benches to sit on but no tables. Taking home a pint or getting a cone to enjoy while strolling would be a perfect idea.

Everything about Morgan's is amazing!! The smell, ambiance, and service... A+. The ice cream (regular and vegan) is CREAMY and DELICIOUS. I appreciate the care and consideration put into each flavor. The naturally colored sprinkles (FREE) are an added bonus. My only wish was that they had more durable plastic spoons that didn't bend so easily. I just want to dig in right away and eat my ice cream before all the flavors blend together okayy

Cool spot over in FTW with tons of flavors. I sadly couldn't taste test, but my got to is salted caramel wherever I find it. Theirs was a smoked caramel and sea salt ice cream and it did not fail to deliver. It was sweet, but not too sweet and their SCOOPS! I appreciate size of their scoops. The next flavor I want to try is their lime cheesecake one, but I gotta hurry because it appears that one is for July. Rotating flavors, quick and friendly staff, and small shop for a quick treat. So glad I came here!

I was a tad disappointed in Morgan's Ice Cream. Our friends raved about their unique flavors and fun vibe. We stopped in on a Saturday evening and there was no line! Score! Unfortunately they don't offer samples, which if they did I might have had a different experience. We both ordered the Cookie Monster - with cookie dough and Oreo. It was really disappointing. The base didn't have a ton of flavor and it really lacked cookie pieces. We got it in a waffle cone and the waffle cone didn't add flavor either. With Melt Just down the street, Morgan's just doesn't do it for me.

I love Ice Cream and they offer some tasty flavors. They have a small selection and a few monthly flavors. They offer cones and cups. The parking is like being in Deep Ellum but it is Saturday. I'll check it out on a weekday and then do an update. From previous experience I don't believe the parking is always crowded like tonight. It's near Rahrs Brewery and the Amphibian Theater

Morgan's has great ice cream. It was our first time going and besides looking at the menu online I really didn't know what to expect. They make all kinds of great flavors mixed in with cake pieces chocolate pieces and almost everything else you can think of. I had the Cookie Monster and the Strawberry flavors and they were both delicious. It's not to far from where I live so whenever I need a treat I'll add them to the list.

Wow, what a cute little ice cream shop! A small shop here in Fort Worth that runs some amazing limited flavors! They have regular flavors and their seasonal flavors that I think swap out monthly. Plus, there was even some bonus flavors that I didn't see online on the particular day that I went but I'm not 100% if that was a single special day thing or a regular thing as this was my first visit. When I got there a little bit before opening there was a short line out the door already and there was pretty consistently a line during my time there. If you can mange to get there early, try to get there early if you really want a particular flavor. With either some of their flavors or all of their flavors, I didn't get clarification from the wonderful regular I was talking with in line, only has one tub per day. So they can easily run out of certain flavors. Plus they could end up running out of everything and have to close early. As another side not on their website they do note that due to staffing issues, it might be good to try to contact them to see if they are still open before making a long drive or walk out there. There is so many flavors, that I had a hard time choosing. I ended up getting what someone in line recommended which was banana ice cream with a waffle cone. Especially due to most ice cream places not having a banana options. The waffle cone is made in house, was fresh and outstanding. Plus the ice cream was absolutely a dream, had nilla wafers in it, and very delicious.
