The 21 Best Restaurants In Margate - London - The Infatuation

"There’s a laid-back cafe feel to Mori Mori that belies some of the cooking at this Japanese spot on Northdown Road. The simple room is flooded with light during the day and its chirashi rice boxes truly pop. Salmon sashimi and panko prawn toppings are winners but the star of the show is the okonomiyaki. The pancake is filled with kimchi, hispi cabbage, and a gooey smoked cheese, alongside a squeeze of spicy kewpie and a handful of spring onions. A plump, oozing hug of a dish." - jake missing, daisy meager, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Mori Mori - Review - Margate - London - The Infatuation

"There’s a laid-back cafe feel to Mori Mori that belies some of the cooking at this Japanese spot on Margate’s Northdown Road. The simple all-white room is flooded with light during the day and its chirashi rice boxes truly pop. Salmon sashimi and panko prawn toppings are winners but the star of the show is the okonomiyaki. The pancake is filled with kimchi, hispi cabbage, and a gooey smoked cheese, alongside a squeeze of spicy kewpie and a handful of spring onions. A plump, oozing hug of a dish." - Jake Missing

Had such a nice experience here at Mori Mori yesterday evening. The food was delicious. Every dish a real treat. Really friendly service and nice music too. We will be back!

A real gem tucked away in the back streets of Margate! Every dish we ordered was beautifully hand crafted and top notch flavour. The okonomiyaki was absolutely huge for £12!! And the salmon sashimi was the best I’ve had, so buttery soft. Our waiter was very knowledgable and friendly. The only reason for 4 stars was that the delivery of the food was very slow.

Wow - what a gem! Really delicious Japanese food, we were pleasantly surprised to find a level of authenticity that's difficult to find outside of Japan. Our server was also lovely, we felt very well taken care of. It's not a place to go if you are looking for a quick bite, but if you want to have a relaxed and freshly made meal in a cosy atmosphere this is the perfect spot.

My mum went to pick up some food for me as I love a nice ramen! Ramen was lovely, miso soup was nice. The only option for tuna sashimi was as a main with rice, but it would be nice if it was possible to order it alone (+ ginger, wasabi). The main portions are definitely on the smaller side and more expensive in comparison to other Japanese restaurants (happy samurai, mr miyagi). Dessert was somewhat disappointing as the cheesecake was not baked or set in form, crushed ginger biscuit base with what might have been mascarpone/quark mixed with matcha powder on top, also very small for £7.50. Definitely can tell the staff care about their work here, perhaps the menu is even somewhat new. So thought I’d post a review incase it could be helpful!

Been a few times and all I can say is .. great service and AMAZING food. Chef/Owner so passionate about her food and business which makes it a delight to eat here. All of the staff are great, friendly and approachable and would happily take their time to explain the menu and answer any questions. The food is fresh, homemade and delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone who is a lover of Japanese food.

My partner and I experienced a gorgeous meal out at Mori Mori. The atmosphere was relaxed and we were made to feel very welcome by the friendly and attentive staff. Having never been before, we went for the three-course meal as part of Margate Restaurant Week, and we can confirm that we will certainly be coming back again for more!

We had an unexpected change of plans when a nearby restaurant let us down last minute, but Mori Mori absolutely saved the evening. Despite it being a busy night, they kindly managed to squeeze in our party of five — and we’re so glad they did. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, welcoming, and effortlessly attentive. They took amazing care of us, made sure everything ran smoothly and truly went above and beyond to make us feel looked after. The food was delicious. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with care and precision. So glad we stumbled across this lovely restaurant.
